• Arandia-kresic (6/5): Pleasant - The stuff is polite and always ready to help. The city skyline is visible on the upper levels. The upper levels not cooled except for the rooms. Bed keeps sliding away when laying on the back against the wall.
• Elaine (10/5): Perfect welcoming stay in great location! - Loved the balcony— seeing the cityscape in the morning and evenings made the stay great! Loved the welcoming dark-wood furniture with the spacious large airy space, and clean bathroom. Enjoyed the warm shower and comfortable bed after a day of sightseeing. Will come back. No gym or pool, but not a big deal.

• Ronald (6/5): Okay if aged. Not suitable during Dinagyang because too close to the unbelievable noise levels. - Location near the city center. A bit old but still okay. Boring breakfast, very unhelpful attitudes. Avoid during the Dinagyang festival: it's very close to the street sounds which are unbelievably loud and go on without interruption from 6am to 1.30am at night. Some of their rooms face the noise directly and are really unsuitable for guests during that time. Still, they put us there anyway, I begged them to change rooms but they kept lying about being full. When I finally made a big fuss, two more acceptable rooms magically appeared...

• Charito (9/5): Happy with our stay. - Size of our room exceeds our expectation. Kind support of the staff in guiding us what places to visit in Iloilo is exceptional. Location is best in tasting the original La Paz batchoy and visit to Faro Cathedral. Entrance is block by vehicles , might be a temporary constraint due to the construction of the market.

• Anna-lena (10/5): Exceptional - Location is perfect so I was able to walk around. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I travelled alone and felt save and welcomed. Two museums were very close too. When asking someone to bring you to the hotel, mentioning the La Paz public market helps. Nothing.

• Mark (9/5): Great hotel w/La Paz market across the street. Access to the Esplanade is a maybe 200 meters. - Really enjoyed my stay at the Grand Dame. It's a classic place with features that I don't find in most other newer properties. The entire staff was super helpful and friendly. Next time I'm in Iloilo I will be staying at the Grand Dame. Disappointed that the hotel restaurant, Emilion, was closed during my stay. The reviews were excellent and I was looking forward to eating there.

They went beyond the call of duty. - Breakfast was great in that we were given choices and it was a hot meal that was cooked prior to serving. The dining staff was very attentive The breakfast drink was labeled juice when in fact it was sweet tea. I was disappointed because I like actual juice for breakfast. The real juice was for sale.

• Paul (9/5): A comfortable, peaceful and happy stay. - The Grand Dame Hotel was a calming oasis nestled in the middle of the busy and sometimes chaotic area of Lapaz, Iloilo. The staff were always helpful and followed up requests quickly. The building is a classic design and although it isn’t new it has been well maintained and because the furnishings are of a good quality they have stood the rest of time. Very pleased with our stay and would definitely recommend it to others. As a tourist it would have been helpful to have information on hand about sightseeing. Having said that the staff were helpful when asked.

Fully modernized inside, comfy (firm) beds, well sized rooms, all expected amenities, smart tv, great a/c. Staff are extremely welcoming and nothing is too much. Brekky available. 2 elevators. Great location with a mall and restaurants in easy walking distance. LaPaz Market and cafe/restaurant at the door . Higher floors offer stunning panoramic views. Highly recommended

We had to leave at 4AM the next day for island hopping and - The place is very comfortable and clean and the location is very convenient and accessible. There's JD bakeshop at the ground floor, across is the La Paz Public Market for fresh fruits, the original la paz batchoy, 80-yr old traditional coffee at Madge cafe. Nearby is mercury drug for pharmacy and essentials, and Robinsons mall, SM City Iloilo, and Festive Mall is a short ride/drive away. Great wifi too! Some of us had to work remotely and there was no problem attending meetings and sending files over. n/a

The presentation of the ambience offers unique to the hotel brand while still creating a warm, welcoming mood. Staff are very welcoming and affordable. Downstairs, there is a JD Bakeshop in case you get hungry and walking distance to a nearby mall. the Wi-Fi slows down in the morning

• Ivo (8/5): Great hotel, nothing interesting around it - The hotel, the room, the staff. Surroundings, not the best in Iloilo. Very poor and dark surroundings, nothing to do in the evening or at night. Not dangerous as it seam (pretty dark). Had Batchoy at mini restaurant late at night just in front of hotel and had a beer in a very little bar with natives spending their evening. Very very nice and friendly persons. Day time is fine as there is the market and a Mall at walking distance. There is a huge construction going on, so a bit noisy in the morning. Beware to the non smoking ban on most of the streets in Iloilo. Air is very polluted (and water and so on) but don't dare to smoke, you'll be fined.

Karaoke next door two nights kept me up till 3:00 in the morning. On the side note the staff went and talked to the people and the third night the karaoke was not as loud
