• Gabriel (10/5): Too short overnight in Colombo on this gem hotel - Nicely decorated, with exotic local touches. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. Two cold local beers were awaiting us in the fridge with two complimentary water bottles. The breakfast was not included, à la carte, offering a great variety.

• Sumit (8/5): A fine property... - Wonderful boutique property in a premier neighbourhood. Professional and helpful staff. A nice and quiet ambience. An in-house fine dining Japanese restaurant was an extra! No mirror in the room. There was no water pressure and the hot and cold mixture in the shower needed a good few minutes to adjust. The luxury of a refreshing shower at the end of a sultry day was sorely missed.

• Emma (10/5): - We enjoyed our stay there to the fullest. It’s a beautiful building, located in the center of Colombo in a quite neighborhood. Sanju, one of the staff members, was super kind and helpful and Tarushi on the roof top bar as well, great service and friendly team. We can really recommend to stay and eat there.

The bed was a bit hard.... It looked like top notch luxury, but wasn't good value considering difficulties sleeping (the point of a hotel room!!)
• Ayesha (6/5): Better place to dine than a staycation - The design of the property is nice - very Zen like elements within the common areas and especially the dining area is very spacious, with various peaceful pockets providing complete escape from the buzz of the city. There are multiple dining options within the hotel so there's good variation. Also nearby to an excellent Sri Lankan eatery called Kolamba Kade and some good cafe options in the neighbourhood. Really liked the very spacious balcony in the Deluxe room. Staff is helpful. The AC in our room was not working so we could not enjoy the facilities of our Deluxe room. The bathroom in the deluxe is also very spacious but they need to make better use of that space- simple hooks on the walls or shelves would provide more convenience. Check in was slow and breakfast service even slower if you choose to eat at their restaurant. The dining service at lunch/dinner is better. Light were completely off in the common areas after midnight and we couldn't have any switched on request as we had to leave for the airport at 430am and we couldn't see anything stepping outside our rooms. The rooftop pool was too small but is a nice place to hang out for drinks. The Japanese restaurant is nice, decent sushi, katsu chicken etc but seaweed salad was not proper seaweed salad.
• Chris (8/5): Great value in a great location. - The location was perfect for what we needed. Big comfortable room with ac, hot water, TV and WiFi - all worked well. Staff were really attentive and friendly. They allowed us to check in on arrival which was earlier than the check in time. The pool was really lovely but the opening times of 7.30 - 6.00 is a little limited when compared with other places in Colombo. As mentioned everything was great except the pool opening times - I was there for business so was out most of the day meaning I had to rush back to get to the pool before it closed - not a deal breaker but something to be aware of.
• Nicole (5/5): A hotel in a nice building but sevrice and rooms could use improvements to justify the price - The good - a comfortable stay in an area of Colombo that felt safe. The less good - a few things: - The hotel is branded as four stars but the rooms were three stars at the most. The room was fairly basic, granted it had all we needed for one night, but nothing special. No safe box. The aircon was rather loud which made it difficult to sleep and the fan looked like it was about to fall down (it shook a lot when it span). In contrast, there is an iPad that displays your name and various timings of restaurants and check out next to the door which seems unnecessary and trying too hard to be “techy” without clear benefit. - The breakfast was sadly not up to expectations. They asked for dietary requirements upon our arrival to which we said one of us was vegan. They didn’t show us the menu but said some options would be available. On the morning, they presented a menu, and said they understood the dietary requirements and made us choose from the menu with assurance that what we had asked was dairy free which turned out, it wasn’t. The coffee was bad, the fruit which could have been served while we waited for our mains was delivered at the end and we were sat in an isolated and unattractive area of the hotel because they were setting up for an event that evening so the regular nice breakfast area was unavailable. All felt slow and inattentive which was a shame as that was our last meal before heading to the airport. The breakfast here is clearly catered towards western and felt less authentic and tasty than all other places we had been during our trip. - The check in process could have been smoother - a new and inexperienced receptionist did our check in which took way longer than needed. It’s like they weren’t prepared for our arrival. The manager was around and was trying to be helpful but the delays didn’t make us feel very welcomed or relaxed. Overall, Zylan hotel lacked the hospitality we had experienced in the rest of Sri Lanka.

Breakfast was okay, but some of the portions not very generous. We needed to take a tuktuk to get to the main sights, however this does mean the accommodation is lovely and quiet.

Excellent central and quiet location, in a prestigious part of Colombo - Excellent quiet location, the architecture and design and interior décor of the building. Spacious common areas. Wonderful in house Japanese restaurant with roof top views. Attentive and helpful staff. In room safe deposit box that broke down with my passport inside. This could not be opened by maintenance staff and they had to mechanically cut open the box which took over two hours. This cooked have proved disastrous if I was flying that day, as it was I was not flying. I suggest that all the safe deposit boxes which the staff say are now dated are replaced.

• Alexander (9/5): A True Feel-Good Place in Colombo – Absolute Recommendation - We stayed at Zylan Colombo for two nights and absolutely loved it. The hotel is wonderful, but what truly made our stay special was the exceptionally polite, friendly, and helpful staff. When we didn’t feel completely comfortable in the first room we were assigned, the staff immediately and very kindly offered us a different room. The room change was handled with such courtesy and professionalism that we felt truly welcomed and cared for. For us, Zylan Colombo was a real place of comfort: incredibly kind employees, beautiful interior design, cozy beds, and excellent food. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast, and the rooftop pool is another highlight and a perfect place to relax. The location is calm and pleasant, allowing you to escape the hustle and bustle, while still being very well connected to the city by tuk-tuk or taxi. An absolute recommendation and a real hidden gem. We will definitely come back! Nothing. All good.

Arriving after a very long flight, they were kind enough to open a room so we could change and shower (as we were too early to check in). Our room was huge, airy, and exactly what we needed to acclimatise. The roof-top restaurant was great, food delicious, and pool very welcome. Delicious food and cocktails, and a great pool area. Big modern bathroom. Would definitely stay here again. The restaurant is in the middle of all the rooms, so it was very loud and busy at night time. Also, given the price, it would be nice if breakfast was included and the rooms were cleaned during our stay.

The main public space is located behind and is just lovely. We ate dinner at the hotel our 1st evening & that was a mistake. The food was very disappointing with no response from the manager. Much better options in Colombo. Breakfast was very good though. The hotel is located in a nice, high end neighborhood not too far from sights & restaurants. No real shade at the pool.

• Claudia (10/5): Stilvolles Hotel mit tollen Menschen in guter Lage - Das Zylan Colombo war für uns ein absoluter Wohlfühlort: sehr nette Angestellte, schöne Ausstattung, gemütliche Betten und sehr leckeres Essen (wir haben dort gefrühstückt und abends japanisch gegessen). Zudem noch ein toller Pool aus dem Dach. Die Lage ist sehr angenehm und ruhig, wir da man ein bisschen aus der Hektik raus ist, aber trotzdem schnell mit den Tuktuk oder Taxi in der Stadt ist. Absolute Empfehlung, ein Geheimtipp! Wir kommen wieder😊 Nichts. Alles war wirklich super
• Mark (9/5): Wenn Colombo, dann hier💎 - Sehr schönes Hotel in der Stadt. Eine kleine Oase im Trubel von Colombo. Das Design des Hauses ist sehr ansprechend und lädt zum Verweilen ein. Bequeme Sitzmöglichkeiten, chillige Hintergrundmusik und freundliches Personal helfen nach einem wuseligen Tag in der Stadt zu entspannen. Es gibt auch noch eine Rooftop Bar, ein Sushi-Restaurant und einen kleinen Pool auf dem Dach. Unser Zimmer war sehr geräumig und gemütlich eingerichtet und hatte einen riesigen Balkon. Die Betten waren bequem. Das Badezimmer war riesig. Einzig die neben dem Hotel liegende Vorschule war nervig. Dort wurden die armen Kinder bereits ab 9 Uhr mit lauter Musik beschallt. Von unserem Balkon konnten wir dem Treiben beiwohnen.

• Gil (10/5): Beautiful boutique hotel with good vfm - Room full of charm, jacuzzi was amazing, Location is nice, toiletries are good quality. It was just what I was looking for for a romantic getaway WiFi stopped working in the morning, before we even checked out. From the pictures and advertisement, I thought there are two rooms in this suite but it didn’t really matter to us
• Michael (9/5): Super Hotel mit bequemen Bett toller Atmosphäre und freundlich Mitarbeitern - Tolle Atmosphäre, super gestalteter Außenbereich mit einem Brunnen im Innenhof, einen Fischteich und angenehme Musik im Hintergrund. Der Pool auf dem Dach und die Bar ist ein Highlight! Man kann gut entspannen und die Mitarbeiter sind sehr nett. Es werden viele Pflegeprodukte angeboten, die Zimmer sind sauber, die Dusche warm und das Bett sehr bequem! Das einzige, was nicht gefallen hat, war die dreckige Decke im Badezimmer. Es scheint, als ob das Schimmel wäre, das könnte man beseitigen.

• Joachim (5/5): Es gibt Besseres - Sehr freundliches Personal. Ich hatte leider 1 Zimmer krankheitsbedingt stornieren müssen. Die Stornofrist war bereits 2 Tage abgelaufen. Es wurde akzeptiert und das war sehr kulant. Es war diverses kaputt. Klobrille Wasserhahn, der Safe ließ sich nicht verschließen. Und einige Kleinigkeiten mehr. Trotz Reklamation haben sie es nicht hinbekommen. Ich bin eigentlich nicht so empfindlich jedoch bei 85 € pro Nacht sollte das nicht vorkommen.
• Penny (10/5): Boutique to the core - Beautiful boutique hotel. The decor in each area was beautiful. Our room was large with an outside sitting area beautifully decorated. There is a Japanese restaurant on top of the building and a swimming pool. Just loved it

• JorgB (9/5): Excellent hotel and restaurant in a quite neigbhorhood - we spent 2 nights beginning and end of your Sir Lankan trip. First night we arrived at 1pm, staff was waiting for us 2 weeks later, we returned and were greeting with "welcome back" and they upgraded us into a 1st floor very big room. We had also dinner at the restaurant and had Thai & Japanese food, very delicouse. The GM also gave us a tour of the hotel. We can highly recommand both hotel and restaurant.
