- Moran (8/5): Excellent hotel, but the view is not what we expected. - The hotel itself is excellent. The room is very pampering, looks exactly as advertised, and the service is extremely good friendly - kind and helpful, but not in an intrusive way. All facilities are very clean, and very well maintained. Very quiet, very calm. We had a really good sleep. The hotel was fully booked when we were there, but we did not experience it as busy at all. The pool and spa were always available with plenty of space and privacy. We also really enjoyed the e-cars that are available for free use by the hotels guests. The hotel is called "the view", and the pictures advertise a magnificent view from the room. Perhaps there are other better rooms, but we stayed in a junior suite, and the view was just ~ok. It's certainly not what it looks like in the pictures shown on the website. You can see some of the lake, but it's far from the breathtaking views that we were expecting (and which we did experience in some other places). Most of the lake view was blocked by buildings or large trees that grew tall further down hill. As such, I'm not sure that the location is so attractive for the price - the location on the Paradiso hill is worth it for a splendid view, else it may be worth taking a top hotel in Lugano itself with better accessibility. La atención de Marina en la recepción también es destacable. muy bien ella. .No es un hotel 5 estrellas. Personal en general poco capacitado para atender clientes. Hotel lejos de la ciudad de Lugano. Un taxi sale 30chf ida y otros 30 la vuelta. En recepción al hacer check out solicité una factura y me dijeron que no era posible y que la debía pedir a Booking. Esa persona , mujer, atiende muy mal y no tiene condiciones para atender público
- Bart (5/5): Nice but a pitty that 2 persons spoiled it a bit - Beautiful hotel. Most of the staff was realy friendly and did a perfect job. Unfortenately they forgot to clean our room. We left the hotel around 10 o clock and came back at 14 o clock. Housekeeping did not pass in our room by that time. When we asked the reception they told us the the reason was because our do not disturb card was out or because we forgot te give our keys to reception before leaving the hotel. Neither of both was the case, so there was no reason not to clean the room. A mistake can always happen but we found it profound the there was no appologie from the lady in the lobby. First day they forgot to bring us the breakfast menu.

Он сделал все возможное, чтобы отразить внутри номера всю наружную красоту. Я бываю постоянно в Италии, но даже в Италии не умеют готовить так вкусно пасту, как здесь. Шеф повар ресторана просто невероятно хорошо!!!! Лучшая в моей жизни паста с грибами, фуагра, неожиданно прекрасная винная карта, безупречное обслуживание. Обязательно вернусь!!!

- Valejo (10/5): - Easily one of the most incredible hotel experiences I’ve ever had! Expensive, yes, worth it, absolutely! We arrived from Milan a lot earlier than the check in window, and they offered to hold our bags, gave us an tour of all of the amenities the hotel had to offer, and give us a complimentary car to drive ourselves to the city center while we waited for our room. After driving back from the city center and turning the car back in, we were showed our room and left with chocolates and wine while they brought up our bags. The in-hotel restaurant was open for lunch so we grabbed a bite to eat while we enjoyed the incredible view of Lugano lake. I can go on and on about this hotel but, if you have the money please make an effort to stay here and experience luxury in the way it’s meant to be enjoyed.

- I1575VCrebeccak (8/5): Aptly named, but you climb for that view! - The View is aptly named. Probably the most stunning view I've ever had at a hotel. The room was very spacious and impecable, just as appears on the website. The hotel breakfast was wonderful, and I've had a lot of them. Be aware, this hotel is about a 35 minute walk from the center of Lugano, which some fail to mention. There's a city bus you can catch that cuts it down to 15 minutes. However, the hotel is situated up a very steep hill, which you have to climb to get to the bus stop. This was ok as we are young and fit, but would be a problem for small children or older adults. Even for us, the climb each day was exhausting and I chose to limit how many times I went back and forth to the hotel because of this. It was also June and close to 90 degrees, so that didn't help. We did not try out the bikes, as I'm not adept enough of a rider to deal with the steep hills so that is something to be aware of too if you're thinking you want to use the available ebikes. All in all, the price was exorbitant, and although the stay was excellent, I probably would not choose this property again due to the climb to get back and forth. Finally, the spa facilities and indoor pool were nice. I think having an outdoor pool would have been even better though.
- michaely180 (2/5): Mid-tier AirBNB masquerading as a hotel - embarrassing disaster - I frankly hate this hotel. No one should ever stay here. One of the worst hotels I have ever stayed at. This hotel is a medium-quality AirBNB in all aspects by the name. This hotel would be overpriced at $300 and my room was $1500 per night. You enter in a dark parking garage - it is scary and I was confused we were at the wrong place. No one parks your car or takes your bags. The hotel hallways are dark and very stuffy and frankly scary. My college dorm was much nicer. The room furniture is gross and old and marked up with wear and tear. The "view" from the room is just bad - you have like a view of the roof below and there are big trees blocking the view of the lake. You'd have a much better view from any of the hotels in town. The room itself has so many issues. Worst is the bed, which is frumpy and uncomfortable and I slept terribly. Pillows are awful too, and the blanket feels lumpy and disgusting. The lights are automatic in the sink and bathroom, so when you get up at night these awful florescent lights come on and wake up your partner and keep you awake. There is a step up to the bathroom sink that I plowed into with my right foot during the night. Insane, dangerous design. The sink turns on with these like metal knobs that you turn which are disgusting, just awful. The room service is horrible. We ordered fish, shrimp, veggies on the first night and it was barely edible. The shrimp was disgusting - like an amateur boiled the fish and set them down on some salt. Horrific meal. Easily the worst room service meal I have ever eaten and it was very expensive. The biggest issues is the inconvenient location. Even if this was a good hotel, it's impossible to get to town. Every other hotel in Lugano is amazing because you can walk to cafes or the lake or the park. But at The View you are isolated in a cave up the mountain, truly awful. This is maybe the most disappointing hotel I have ever stayed at. I hated it. The "Small Luxury Hotels" of the world brand should remove this hotel as soon as possible as it is doing damage to their reputation.

- Lynn (8/5): Great quiet location and wonderful service! - The view was excellent! Breakfast was outstanding and the service as well. The room was very nicely appointed. Very nice balcony with comfortable seating. The use of E-Bikes and E-Vehicles was a great addition, although riding bikes to town is a bit precarious with traffic and no bike paths. The hiking right down from the hotel was a nice way to start the day. The only negative I can offer is the bed needed to be replaced, it sinks to the middle. I had back issues do to this. The lighting is a little too dark in the closet and bath areas. It made looking for things a little difficult.

They were very, very helpful arranging or helping us with travel arrangements. The spa was very, very good and all of the facilities at the luxury hotel were extremely good. We were fortunate enough to get upgraded, and the view from our balcony across the lake was spectacular. The mountains, the scenery. Everything was very, very beautiful except for the rain.
- kbA5592GH (10/5): A Lovely Low-Key Gem in Lugano - Had such a wonderful stay at The View Lugano! Just like it's name, this lux hotel includes fantastic views of Lake Lugano and the town below. Rooms are uniquely designed and spacious. Size of hotel, location and very attentive staff made for a relaxing stay. Highlights include the amazing breakfast buffet and gorgeous pool area. We did not make use of the complimentary electric car but thought that was a terrific bonus considering the property is elevated (like a lot of the area). We definitely plan on returning to the area and look forward to visiting again.

- rkr727 (8/5): Beautiful view with flawed design - The view was amazing and the room was super hip, but sometimes form over function were at play. We loved the comfort of the bed, the nice finishes of the room, the location above the lake, and the quietude. The lighting could use some rethinking; for instance blinding lights follow your movement at night, and me thinks it would be better to control the lights manually. Lights in the water closet and shower are too dim, and it's easy to stumble around in the darkness over a beautiful but slippery marble floor. Why don't designers trust travelers to set lighting as we think is best for us? Post covid measures, like reading qr codes to call anyone in the hotel or ask assistance, is a bit over engineered.. however, staff were super helpful and kind. We ate at the hotel and food was tasty and fresh.

The junior suites are incredible with the view of Lugano living up to the name of the hotel. The balcony was spacious and having complimentary breakfast room service was excellent. The staff were so incredibly friendly, personable, and helpful. The complimentary electric Smart cars for getting around town were also an incredible boon.
