Guest Reviews
- Cindy (8/5): - The outside is run down however the room was very clean and the staff was very nice !!I would definitely stay again and you can’t beat the price . Had to double up the thin pillows and then very comfortable . Bed was average and a little on the hard side but we slept very well on it and light noise of fan on was also nice !!!
- Nathan (2/5): - The room smelled so awful I ran out and vomited. The front desk couldn't have cared any less.
- Mario (2/5): - They didn't have a room for me. The manager called and said NO ROOM. Why did expedia do this ???????
- Matt (2/5): - I don't know how the room was, because they didn't have a room. Me and a friend both booked rooms and they had none. Expedia and the hotel have both refused me a refund for a hotel I never stayed at.
- Tara (10/5): First stay great Second stay just ok. - I have stayed in this hotel now two times. The first time was great, bed was comfortable and the shower was nice. Second time I stayed with my son and the bed was uncomfortable and the shower head was horrible. When I stay here again I will be trying to get the first room I had and not the last room I was in.
- Michele (10/5): - We brought our 2 dogs and went hiking in the area. The rooms were clean, beds were reasonably comfortable, and there was a convenient area to walk our dogs. Food options were close to the motel. The staff were efficient and check in was super quick. We will be back!
- Ken (2/5): - Lost my reservation and no accommodations were available. Hotel refused to take communications from Hotels.com to address the situation.
- Tim (10/5): - Nothing fancy. Nice place to stay. Very affordable for the location. My go to place when visiting friends.
- Jim (10/5): - Made me feel like home, nothing fancy.
- Jean (8/5): - Didn't have a pet. Pillows too flat.
- Thomas (10/5): - Clean room. Friendly staff
- Danny (8/5): - Clean room
- William (6/5): - Already submitted
- Landon (10/5): Very nice 👍 - Felt very welcome and enjoyed my stay
- Ross (2/5): - After prepaying for a room I was turned away by the front desk because the systems were down. 9 at night they said sorry get out nothing can be done, and I have not received a refund for a room I NEVER USED. Stay away from here and from Expedia apparently because they won’t do anything about it.
- Dale (6/5): - Hotel getting old doors to outside don’t work good just getting old decent clean rooms for cheap price though
- Brian (4/5): - Bathroom door would bind against the floor so it would not close. Our friends in the next room had the same issue. Our room also had a bad odor. Front door did not seal properly and could see daylight through it.
- Lisa (8/5): - Inside was surprisingly nice. Should let travelers know that shampoo is an extra fee thou
- Sandy (8/5): - Very comfortable. Updated rooms
- Mathew (10/5): - People working there were great, the outside was a little shabby. But each room was clean and updated. Very happy with the room.
- RICHARD (10/5): good place to stay and cheap - looks like older building but rooms were clean
- John (8/5): - I was given a plunger to unplug a blocked toilet.
- Larry (8/5): - For the price a nice clean and comfortable room we are usually just looking for a place to sleep with a bathroom was not disappointed
- Barbara (8/5): - Good price. Thought the trains might be a problem, but I didn't hear them at night
- Glenn (4/5): - The room we stayed in (room 104) had a toliet that "ran" about every 30 seconds. The train tracks are directly behind the hotel. When a train comes through the ground rumbles and the building shakes. The motel is also located about 75 feet from the highway so also lots of road noise. Finally, the air conditioner was quite loud.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Room was not ready when we arrived at 6 p.m. parking area in back needs repair and trash picked up. Laminate floors felt gritty and unwashed. Room needs a hair dryer. However, the bed and pillows were comfortable and clean. I wouldn't stay here unless no other options.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Staff were very nice. The beds need upgraded, not comfortable to sleep on. Room had a fridge that froze everything overnight. If you need a place to stay it was clean and I would stay again.
- Keith (2/5): this hotel is garbage. - This place is a dump. The air conditioner didn't work and they did nothing to help the situation. no fans nothing. there were limited outlets so if you needed to charge a device you better have a long cord. the place stunk like stale beer and cigarettes. The microwave didn't work. I wouldn't stay at this hotel again if it was free. I am going to contest the charges through my credit card company to see if I can get my money back. this is a garbage pit.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Clean, cheap. No breakfast.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Location was convenient for walking to downtown and the restaurant next door for breakfast.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great value for the price--good location, good staff, clean. We'd stay there again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - A good hotel for the budget conscious traveler.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great value.. updated room.. train was right behind us but didnt bother us!!!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nice place
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Love getting to park infront of door, great view, friendly staff.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The room was fine. It was clean, and relatively quiet during the night. The place is short on amenities, but you get what you pay for. Is decent for a short stay.
- Paul (8/5): - Nice staff easy check in clean for the price point can’t be beat.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - This property was not very good. The room had a bad smell, the bed was hard and old. The shower had no pressure but at least it was hot. The AC worked but might be the source of the smell.
- Verified traveler (6/5): It’s a Motel 6 - It’s a Motel 6. You get what you pay for. Inexpensive, small room, Low quality accommodations, mediocre service, sketchy guests... On the plus side, it had a a working microwave and refrigerator
- Verified traveler (6/5): - We didn’t appreciate a barking dog. Listened to it for 2 1/2 hours. Then we left for supper. Wasn’t barking when we got back.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Good location. Good friendly service
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Recently remodeled. Clean. No maid service between nights in our stay.
- Donna (10/5): Clean and efficient for the price. - The room was very clean with refrigerator and microwave. The in room air conditioner worked well as the outside temperature is in the 90's. Overall it was quiet except for the train that runs nearby.
- Daniel (8/5): Very nice, but no one cleaned room - It was very nice the room. There was no maid service. We were there for 3 nights. No one cleaned the room or anything. Otherwise it was a nice room and the people at the front desk were friendly. I had to complain about the guy next to us being outside and talking with another hotel guest at 12:30AM. Call front desk and they took care of it.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - desk staff did not know how to check in guests
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It was quiet and the staff was very friendly.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Convenient to the boat ramp, was able to plug in my boat on the back fence.
The bed was pretty uncomfortable.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Get what you paid for. Good for the money. Nice room. Didn’t realize they were pet friendly. Probably stayed at a pet friendly place before but this was the first time someone had a dog sleeping in the room next to us. Every once in a while it would bark. Woke me up a little earlier than I wanted to get up my last day there.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The bed felt like we were sleeping on a box spring of concrete
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It was clean and comfortable.
- Robert (10/5): Improving - During the process of remodeling some of the rooms. Good economical place to stay.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very clean, and staff was very nice
- Verified traveler (10/5): Overall satisfied w/value, but room 4 improvement - It’s not the nicest room that I’ve ever stayed in, but the value for the money is there. Decent accommodations, plenty of towels and a refrigerator and microwave. However the bathroom was pretty cold, and although the pillows were very comfortable, there were very few (only two) and the bed was not very comfortable.
- Diana (10/5): Great service - We tend to use Motel 6 because of their pet policy. This time, we had a few more dogs along, so needed to keep an eye on the truck where the rest stayed. The staff went the extra mile getting us a ground floor room at the quiet back so we could park right under the window with no foot traffic past the truck.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Clean, staff is very friendly. Comfortable beds.
- . (2/5): - Couldn’t get into our room. Nobody at front counter and ended up finding a new hotel after an hour of waiting with another guest
- Sue (6/5): - Updated to a modern look. Close to railroad tracks and people talking in hallways could be heard.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I liked the location. It was easy to find restaurants and shopping. It was very clean and the staff was very friendly. I would definitely recommend for anyone visiting!
- Matt (4/5): - Beds dipped in center . other customers walking in on us , because hotel double booked room . stayed 3 nights and they didnt clean room or give fresh towels .
- indiianaloru (10/5): - This prpoerty was clean and easy to get around in. The view was also great
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The location and front desk staff are the only things that were positive about this stay. The room smelled horribly. The phone didnt work...there was no in room coffee and the whole place was over all pretty shabby.
- NancyLC (6/5): - Very affordable and just basic!! No hair dryer or shampoo. The nats were bad! They should spray for bugs for sure. The floor had not been swept or mopped. We try to make the best out of every visit to a hotel that we can. The staff was pleasent!!
- Michael (8/5): - Handy to park just outside, east access.
- Kelly (8/5): 2nd stay as good as 1st - Great stay on the cheap. Clean and friendly owners. You can hear everything outside so sleeping in isn't much of an option and bring your own shampoo as they don't provide. 2nd time staying and would stay again. Clean and fridge/ microwave a bonus for a cheaper end room.
- WilliamCole (2/5): - Was disapointed that our room wad not cleaned and they did not bring fresh towels snd was cloths. The room was really dated. Had to prop bathroom door open with waste basket!
- Jim (10/5): - Fine, air worked, room clean, water was hot, no problem
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great stay and great staff.
- NateM (8/5): - Nice basic room for the night. Good price. Just what I was looking for
- Kyle (4/5): - White doors to rooms are filthy, stained and handprints all over. Sink in the room barely working. Overpriced for what it is.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - It seemed that they were trying to update the place but it was very old the doors had big gaps at the bottom and the shower spit out water. During my shower it went ice cold then scolding hot. Be sure to bring your own shampoo and conditioner etc. I do have to say even though our room was a bit dark and dreary it was very clean.
- Monica (8/5): - Exactly what they said it would be. Only stayed one night to sleep but what just what we needed.
- Todd (8/5): - Clean and reasonably priced. Was close to dining and shopping.
- Larry (10/5): It’s convenient affordable and clean - We always like it there it’s very affordable and a good location for us
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Clean friendly staff great for an affordable easy overnight stay
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Close to property we own and stay at in the summer. Also close to other activities we enjoy when we are in Prairie du Chien.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Needs upgrading building in serious need of repair no way would it pass code
- Sally (10/5): Great place to stay - Newly remodeled. Clean. Friendly staff. Loved the new furniture and flooring. Reasonably priced and a great location right along Hwy 35.
- Daniel (10/5): - Nice clean room with affordable price
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I didn't tell them I was using a walker and stairs couldn't use but they put me in a grond level but no heat and it wasn't too bAd either furnished me with a portable elevtris heater,,,i did turn it on once but shut it off and opened the door for lilk bit,,,and slept just fine without it,,,,,,,,as told them I was from NW iowa so used to some chill in air...…..got along just fine.....AAA helpful etc.....I liked the room.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The room was small but I wasn’t expecting a home. I thought the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean. I did wish that there had been another chair in the room so I could have set on something besides the bed. Overall a very good experience.
- Abby (2/5): - Bathroom was dirty. Sink was dirty. Sheets were dirty. Floor was absolutely filthy. Bed was so overused that the middles were caved in. Fridge was dirty. Basically the hotel room was uncomfortable and filthy. I stay in cheaper places so I figured I knew what I was getting into. I ALWAYS expect cleanliness. This place was nowhere near worth the money.
The check-in staff were friendly at least.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very clean and updated room. I was pleasantly surprised!
- Verified traveler (2/5): Disappointing - When first arrived gal behind desk was not the most friendly, got us our room key so went to find it. Opened door to room and was a SMELL, seen floor in bathroom and outside bathroom door where sick was was like had grease spots or possible urine as that what it smelled like, sink drain was broke so would not drain, light switches in bathroom were backwards. Went to complain, gal gave us keys to another room, better than other one. Was not the best Hotel, beds were ok. If we would of been able to get refund, been gone to another place.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great and inexpensive. Would come again. Glad it had a refrigerator
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Wasn’t aware working railroad tracks right behind hotel.
- Jill (6/5): Only in a pinch - Train was right behind hotel. Even though it has been remodeled, the hotel has very little new features. Small bathroom, pillowd and bedding was old and stained
- Jerry (10/5): Thumbs up. - I stayed here for work. The staff and owner went above and beyond to help me. I recommend giving them your business.
- Michael (8/5): - The service was very quick and responsive. They did an excellent job of maintaining the property.
- Cindy (4/5): Don't stay thete - Air conditioner was very loud, train tracks is right behind running all the time, no decaf coffee, bed sagged to the middle
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Our room had fresh paint, new flooring and remodeled bathroom. Nice, clean place
- Verified traveler (2/5): - in my home town filthy full of flies blood feces disgusting do not stay here
- Melissa (4/5): - We just needed a clean, comfortable, affordable place to stay for one night. It wasn't a horrible place to stay but wasn't in great condition either. The hallways reminded me of going into a rundown city apartment complex. You could tell the paint on the walls was just quickly thrown on in our room too, there were holes in the wall/door in the bathroom, I was really hoping the toilet and floors had been washed because you weren't really sure. The remote to the tv didn't work so we just went to bed. The other bed in the room had a stained comforter however, I will say that the bed that we slept in was clean and VERY comfortable. The air conditioning was great too. Also, the price for the room was affordable.
- Vern (8/5): Bicycle travel - Room was as expected. Most of the time the office was unattended. Convenient location
- Verified traveler (4/5): - I booked the hotel because in a google search it said there was a pool. The pool had been filled in for several years. I ended up cancelling my reservation when I arrived, but was charged a cancelation fee.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The staff was friendly and the was really the only positive thing. The room smelled like chlorine, there were no wash cloths in the roo. For the price would have thought it would have had some type of breakfast and little more cleaner. Disappointed customer
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It is affordable and clean love it he convince of location
- Christopher (4/5): It beats sleeping in a box. - The motel was barely satisfactory. I don't expect a whole lot from lodging in this category. However, clean bathrooms and towels are a minimum. Unfortunately, this location provided neither. There were stains on the walls in the bathroom, the tub was visibly dirty (as was the sink/faucet), and while the towels smelled clean, they were stained as well. We also had difficulty checking in as the agent couldn't determine last name from first name.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - MOTEL WAS OLD. TOLIET WAS LOUD. NO BATTERY IN SMOKE DETECTOR, BATTERY COVER WAS LEFT OPEN. SPOTS ON THE BED COMFORTER. AC WORKED FINE TV FINE.
- angela D. (2/5): - The bed was lumpy & terribly uncomfortable. There was a big section of mold on the bathroom ceiling and brown water poured out of the shower when the water was first turned on.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Hotel appears to be in the process of re-modeling. Price was reasonable. Location to a resturant within walking distance for breakfast was appreciated. Bed-size terms used at check-in were new to me - could be a cultural variation. It was sorted out to King, Queen - terms I am used to using.
