- Reilly (2/5): Do not stay! - This hotel was awful. The hot spring (public and private), restaurant, and all spa features were closed or non existent. This was not communicated to us at all. Do not stay here - you are risking a below average room with no resort features to offer. Even the escalators here were powered down and whole sections of the resort area were boarded up. The rooms need a deep clean badly and have a moldy smell, like you are living inside an algea cave.

- Hui-Chun (4/5): 離超商很近算最大優點 - 地下停車場的指示很不方便找到電梯，床頭沒有插座可充電不是很理想，進房間一開始就兩隻蟑螂say hello, WTH.房間也很潮濕，但冷氣打開就會好很多。電視壞ㄧ半，吹風機也有問題，雖櫃台有提供吹風機。床偏硬，房間的泡澡池的溫度很不好控制。想所連鎖的品牌飯店應該有一定的品質，很可惜沒有。 但行前會傳簡訊再提醒ㄧ下注意事項，還有安排安靜的房間很感謝，沒有跟團客同在一起 沒有買早餐無法給評語 離便利商店很近，飯店門口也有自動販賣機，價格跟超商的價格差不多，這點很不錯👍 但很可惜，從停車場開始就大大的失望

- theWaldman (2/5): Don't book, it's garbage. - Taiwan offers great hotels, this is not one of them. Everything about this place is outdated, ugly and uninviting. Even the hot spring scene feels like a public pool area, and they screw up with most basic hygiene rules (who leaves USED flip-flops in the rooms for guests??) Everything about this hotel is wrong. Pay more, sleep well at night. For once, I'm glad to have stayed in a hotel for only one night. One night too many.

- wong (4/5): Bad service, poor maintenance hotel - Hotel is old, under maintance and many stains everywhere. The bed n pillow were smelly. Check in counter staff do not have customer service. They don't greet and they don't smike. Look like robot. No eatery around the hotel. The hotel restaurant doesn't not open during lunch hour. Staff advised us to go 7-eleven to eat instant noodle. Dinner at restaurant is worst! Cost abit but simple dish. Only outdoor hotspring is open and is very small and old. It doesn't smell like hotspring with sulphur. Water like plain boiling water. Need us to buy a cap for NTD 50. Carpark looks like haunted house and is super hot. Strongly discouraged all to visit the hotel.

OLD... but averagely clean else i will be very annoyed. Its hot water should come from the hot spring... so all bathroom accessories were oxidated.. a bit ugly. Other than that, bed..air cond.. were fine. Come to its indoor hotspring, you need to wear fabric head cap... cannot use those plastic bathroom head cap... so need to buy on the spot TWD50 per piece.. Not crowded. .. temperature was fine.. not too hot... we had only half and hour ... just for the sake of experience it... Overall.. not that bad for lower budget hot spring experience. ..😂. ...

Toilet bathtub is very dirty with stain and nobody dare to use it especially my kids who wants to use the jacuzzi. Cigratte bud marking on the floor. Very bad and odd smell in the room which cannot get away. I have to open up the balcony to let the fresh air come in. Will not recommend!

The carpet looks like it's there for more then 50 years, the bathroom looks old with a disgusting shower curtain in it. I'm glad we stayed only one night here. This hotel definitely needs a upgrade.

- Henry (6/5): 強差人意 - 要找四床的房間不容易(我們四個男性好友)，高野竟然有。要求四張床的四人房，給我的是兩床兩榻榻米，和加床沒分別但沒說明。酒店欠缺維修，很殘舊，設施壞了也沒人理。浴缸很浪費水當然沒用，花洒竟然在浴缸外，冲涼後整个廁所都濕了。有个小小浴簾但我不是小孩子，範圍小得幾乎像雨衣一樣緊貼。冰箱藏在門後，還好有個吊牌提醒，滿有特務感覺。露台對正知本溪，風景十分棒。自助早餐沒什么選擇，十分普通。

- T_Rex_Toyota (4/5): my nephew refused to use the bathroom and went next door to the other hotel - The title here basically described our hotel as being barely OK. From the outside, it was fine, but inside was old and musty smell. The bathroom shower was on the floor, outside of the bathtub. The shower curtain barely contains the water, so it was a mess after the shower. The tiles have plenty of dirty and mildews. The were 2 buildings, and our room was facing inside of the 2 buildings. Our hotel offered breakfast, but it wasn't worth talking about it. Overall, I felt it was more dorm like than a hotel. Seeing the hotel next door to us, it was night and day difference. Since this was part of our 7 night tour of Taiwan, we didn't have a choice on hotel.
- johnnysW1690EN (6/5): Big room but old - One of the bigger hotel in the famous hot springs district. Our room were quite big and clean but you can feel everything is quite old and beat up. There was a hot spring just like most of the other hotels in the region. The spa facility that was suppose to be open wasn't actually accessible and didn't have an explanation. In the end, we didn't really have any problem spending the night but there really much to be expected anyways, the hot spring works but so is every other hotels in the area.
- Hamilr2 (2/5): Goya Hot Springs Hotel & Spa, Taitung Taiwan - We only stayed here 1 night, thank god! The room itself was OK. The bathroom had a shower in it but not in the bathtub... when you shower the water floods the bathroom floor and drains through a floor drain... Needless to say, there is mold around the edges. When you check in ask for a second card to insert into the slot when you enter the room, otherwise everything shuts down when you exit and take your key. That leads me to an another point, when the air conditioning (AC) shuts off and the room starts to get hot, a very strong smell of stagnant water fills the room!! Disgusting! The smell gave my wife a headache! Also there is no trolley to place your big suitcase upon arrival, so we had to put it on the desk. Do not expect any western style food for breakfast!! The buffet opens at 6:15AM and when we arrived, the Mongolian hoards were already there. The buffet staff do not speak any English. The coffee machine (the instructions, all in Taiwanese), if you want coffe, we found out you push the right lower button, the left button gives you some sort of hot chocolate. Not sure what the middle lower button does. The coffee itself is weak. The lone toaster really just warms the bread. For breakfast we had French fries (which were cold) and orange / grapefruit sections. Good place to lose weight. Have fun!!!
- KyDiSp (2/5): Worst In The World - Extremely rude staff. Terrible food. WiFi only in lobby area, Hotel staff has got to be the worse in the world. They think they have a right to be rude. The food is only good enough for people with zero taste buds.
- super_fast_eddie (2/5): Not a good experience - This hotel caters mainly to tour groups, mainly from China. The day we arrived there were over thirty tour buses and over a thousand people. You can imagine the human traffic after 4pm when the tour buses started to arrive, it was a mad house with people hauling luggage and people running around with their wet swim suites. Most tour groups would eat at the hotel for dinner and breakfast, and it was not fun to even line up for anything. The two hot spring fountains were OK when there were no people around, after 8pm the fountains would be full. The room was not that clean in particular the bathroom. Carpets were dirty and worn out and the paints were chipping everywhere - it does need a major renovation. The worst thing about this hotel is the internet, it is only available on the main floor in a small area, with so many people in the hotel, you can imagine how pack it was around the reception area. Some people were on video calls and you would constantly hearing people talking loud and sometimes even screaming. The scenery facing the front of the hotel is actually not bad with a bridge changing colors at night as well as a running river.
- geolau54 (2/5): Most disorganized hotel - Our group stayed there for a night, first impression is hall way is smelly due to wetness which caused by people walking around with wet swimming suits or trunks. Imagine walk into a small and packed elevator with a bunch half naked and wet passengers and i end up using the stairway most of the time. Breakfast is like in a war zone, people are just jammed into the line up everywhere, what a unforgettable experience! Hotel operators should learn crowd control from other same type of hotel.
- AKLS (2/5): Avoid At All Costs - There were 44 tour groups with over a thousand tourists from China the night we checked into this hotel. The hotel lobby resembled an open market with people yelling and rushing around with their suitcases. An hour or two after checking in, they started their rush to the hot spring. There were wet men in bathers, shouting women in pyjamas and teenage girl with facial mask moving around everywhere. We had to give up breakfast the next morning to avoid fighting for food among them. Not my idea of a relaxing holiday to be among such crowd.
- Gsh09 (2/5): Bad!! - This is by far the worst hotel that I have stayed throughout my trip in Taiwan! China tourists seriously ruined everything of this hotel!! Shouting, screaming, pushing, cutting lines (during breakfast) etc!! Room wise, it was so-so. Not good though. Upon inserting the card, the lights went on and off, on and off (already a minus point) and also the corridor smells too! Not sure what smell was it but it was smelly. Room is old but basic amenities were there. Remote control of the aircon doesn't seem to be working too. Lift is way small and slow! Have to wait for a few lifts before we can board the lift. Knowing the lift was full, those china people keep squeezing in! Breakfast was not nice too! China tourists cutting our lines and pushing us! Don't even bother to queue and take their food! Hot spring wise, don't even bother to go to the public hot spring! It will definitely be full of china tourists occupying the hot spring. Only choice is to go to your own room and have your hot spring in your room (bathtub). Overall for this hotel is VERY BAD! Will not encourage people to go this hotel!
- robin8888_12 (4/5): Tourists From China Ruined The Hotel - There were 40 groups (bus coaches) of tourists from China. They thought they were in their own country and were so loud, rude, pushing cutting lines...., had no sense of respecting for other guests. The hot spring was wonderful. We were able to seperate ourselves from the Chinese groups. Lucky us. The groups had to purchase tickets to the indoor hot springs and none of them did. Thus, three of us occupied the entire pool while the out door pool was packed. We love it!

When we checked in, we were assisted by Lucy, and she was incredible! She gave great suggestions on places to eat and things to do. She gave us tips on how to avoid the tour bus crowds, and she was really helpful. We used the hot springs in the spa...away from the tour groups. The spa was nice and quiet. Everywhere else in the hotel, it was super noisy because these tourists all scream and holler. Hotel management need to better monitor guests to make sure they act appropriately. The breakfast was not great. Go early because the tours will ravage the breakfast and cut in line. It was very frustrating to done with these tour groups. The rooms are ok. Ask for a room with hardwood floors. The bathroom needs work. It's old, but the hot spring water feature is neat. The shower is not very comfortable. If I come back, I'd have to seriously consider if I want to stay here. Besides Lucy, I wasn't very impressed with this place because it's overrun by mainland tourists!
- Liandy_Vu (4/5): Messy hotel with slow lifts! - I found this resort was so disorganized, so many people stay here just for the hot spring which i thought it was way too overrated! With so many guest staying there, the lifts were almost always full, not mentioning the slow-moving lifts as well! The resort were very noisy with crowds everywhere at the corners, the breakfast/dining room were lousy and quite dirty. The room was already in bad condition, and a touch of refurbishment. The only good thing i noticed were location was close to small night markets.
- pppbjisiskok (4/5): Very good facility, but recommend to opt for the less-developed ones away from ChihPen - Followed the TA ranking to reserve a personal sauna room during the Chinese New Year vacation. There are only very limited personal sauna offerings available in Taitung. The comments about this hotel have been very generous on TA. It is hard for me to rate this property high. Facility is very good. Each room is equipped with its own soaking bath, aromatic steam room, infrared energy room, 5-star toilet table and a soothing lounge. But I was very dissatisfied by the following: 1. the price doubled during the period 2. the aromatic steam system went down and no maintenance is provided during the holidays 3. the infrared energy does not work as effectively as the conventional design, and it warms up very slowly 4. the hot spring water for soaking is not refreshed each cycle after use 5. the hotel is focused on entertaining the tourist groups and only minimal staffing attends to us who were using the personal sauna services We tried afterwards some other hot springs elsewhere than ChipPen, though much less-developed, but only costing NT$150 even during the holidays, while it's guaranteed natural. So my Taitung trip had not been wasted afterall.
