You are in the old town and there is life going on all around you so be prepared that there is noise outside but if you go in expecting this then it is not a problem at all.

• Peter (8/5): - This is a quaint 9 room (6 on one/main side and 3 across the alley) boutique hotel in the heart of Dubrovnik’s old walled city. To get to it you’re dropped off outside one of the gates to the city and one of the staff will meet you and help you get to the hotel with your bags. They were really great about doing this both coming and going. Our room was on the second floor across the alley in the 3 room building. It was kinda on the small side but laid out very well to easily accommodate we two adults and our large suitcases. The bathroom was modern and well stocked. The TV has all modern apps (Netflix, YouTube, Amazon) so that was a big plus at night when winding down. There’s a kitchen on the main floor of our building where on the morning we left a staff member cooked a great private custom breakfast for us (eggs to order, bacon, bread, fruit, cakes, tea, coffee, etc). On the day we took a trip to Mostar they packed a nice to go breakfast bag for us. We didn’t go to the main building across the alley so don’t know what’s over there as far as dining or other facilities. The rooms are bigger there I’m told. The hotel is situated in a small quiet alley bracketed by main walkways that have about a million shops, restaurants, cafes, sites, tourists, etc. The thing is we never really heard anything as far as annoying street noise which was very nice. Can’t say enough about the staff. They couldn’t have been more helpful or friendly. Anyhow, highly recommend!

So to have a location tucked away, which is completely silent from the crowd and yet so very close to everything is a perfection. Also, the comfort of the room is equally wonderful. We might have liked a little more on those days where the main wasn't our favourite, just for a bit of choice, e.g. ham and egg omelette we didn't like as much. The mattress was very soft but otherwise a comfortable bed. the aircon was a bit weak but given the cooler temp it was fine though imagine during the hot summer we would have hoped for a stronger aircon!

Two things they could improve: 1. Toilet paper holder fixed. Right now it sits on the counter and gets wet. Not sanitary either. 2. Better lighting in the bathroom such as a make up mirror. It was difficult to put makeup on with low light. Minor issues but both would improve the overall experience.

Quiet location, no cars allowed in, very few guests and a focus on caring for them. Happy to have arranged airport pickup, private tours and restaurant reservations. No restaurant even for breakfast, but continental was served daily to the room and adjusted to exactly what we wanted to eat.

• Narek (10/5): High season stay in Dubrovnik - The location is perfect, just in the center of the old city. Many restaurants, sightseeing and activities near the hotel. The staff is super kind. Even after checkout they make additional efforts to help us to solve some problems with booking.com. Breakfast is always in the room. Our room was quite big with a small working space. We booked the hotel late at night immediately before check-in and it was a little bit overpriced but the usual price is worth it.

The breakfasts were delicious. Room has everything you needed. I think some milk would be useful in fridge. I kept some back from breakfast. Useful if you want to make a hot drink. I didn’t make one in the end but that was one idea. The carpet in places is marked but I understand they are aware of this. Not easy to keep clean if food in room etc.

They were extremely helpful carrying our luggage to where our cars were. Getting to the hotel (any hotel) in Dubrovnik is quite a challenge. Since we drove, it was very difficult finding parking and then figuring out how to get our luggage to the hotel which was at least two kilometers from our car.

Nothing was too much trouble and he was always willing to help with reservations and recommendations. The room was amazing, clean and really comfortable.
• Denise (6/5): - More of a ABB we were in the annex we were in two of the 3 rooms. You enter from a door in the street to the kitchen where you have breakfast. You must tell them when u want breakfast and someone will come and prepare it. There is no elevator, staff will bring luggage up for you. The majority of photos on website are not Of the annex. There is no safe, luggage stand, no tissue, phone. There is a call button which summons the staff. They come to your door to seee what you need. There is no restaurant bar or Common areas. You are in your room or outside. Expensive for just a room.
• vincent j (10/5): - This little gem sits on a quiet street in the middle of the walled city. The room was wonderful - just as beautifully unique as the pictures on the website showed. The staff were exceptional. We felt very taken care of. Highly recommend this place!

• Alberto (8/5): Central boutique hotel, friendly staff, however I wouldn't rate 5* - The attentiveness and friendliness of the staff was outstanding, rooms were clean and cool during the hot summer days and we felt a direct and personal touch during our whole stay. When I booked I didn't realize about the difference in rooms between the annex and the main building, I was expecting a bigger room than what we got (eg room was rather small and bathroom had no bathtub) For a 5* hotel, the food choices, quality of offering and room itself were subpart to what one can experience in other parts of Europe or the US. PS: bring an adaptor if you are coming from a non EU country (and while I am on it, avoid the bookstore Algebra downtown, I was charged a 37€ for an adaptor when there are available options at 7€ that do the same, and once paid they wouldn't accept returns, even if it was right at the time of purchase !! -plus book prices are 2x)

• robert (10/5): - We absolutely loved our accommodations at St Joseph’s. Very clean, shower and bathroom were very nice, our breakfast was included in our room and it was amazing every morning! Worth every penny! Only thing we weren’t fond of was all the stairs but that is unavoidable in the area. Would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it! Staff was incredible as well, taking our luggage to and from the gate to meet our driver. Amazing place to stay!
• Wazhma (10/5): - I loved everything about this property!! It is a gorgeous, small hotel in Old Town, Dubrovnik. I would give the staff more than a 5-star review if possible. They were attentive to every detail of my stay. The rooms are beautifully decorated and comfortable. Breakfast was included and served in each guest room every morning. It was delicious. Just minutes from everything you would want to see and do in Dubrovnik. As a regular traveler, I rank my stay at St.Joseph as one of my all-time favorites.

• Miriam (10/5): Beautiful boutique hotel in Dubrovnik's old town - St Josephs is located about five minutes by foot from Pile Gate, inside the city walls right in the heart of Dubrovnik's old town. It's a small family run hotel. Our room was in the top floor, nicely designed and very well kept. The building dates from the 15th century, but the hotel has been renovated to the highest standards. Despite the central location, it was pleasently quiet in our room. Breakfast is served in the room and comes with all sorts of sweet and savory pastry, fresh fruit, a smoothie, and coffee or tea to your liking. Staff is enormously friendly and helpful. We were guided to our nearby restaurant as the streets in the old town are a bit of a maze, and were offered help with booking a wonderful day trip to Ston and the Pelješac peninsula. They even called the tourist office to check if the cable car is already running (right at the beginning of the tourist season). On our last day, our bags were kept until we left to the airport in the late afternoon and we were offered to keep our room key to have access to the rest room in the common area. Absolutely amazing service!

The breakfast in our room every morning was delicious and they even went out of the way to make safe food for our daughter with celiac. loved our stay! everything was great!
