Guest Reviews
- Nam (10/5): Food, vibe, and staff left me relaxed enough to come back - Auberge Chez Momo II sits in a tucked-away location that stays serene throughout the day. Staff were attentive and ensured a comfortable stay. They helped arrange a car on departure and washed our clothes for free, with complimentary water on the way out.
Room 6 overlooks the pool and rooftop terrace. The size, the bed, the tall ceilings and windows made it easy to relax both inside and by the pool. The pool itself is small but perfect in the Moroccan heat pushing 30C. Reading under the shades before dinner was a highlight. So was the night sky and the daytime views out to the lake.
The food is mostly standard Moroccan with some Western additions, but the lamb tagine stood out clearly: tender meat, a date sauce that complemented it well. A few minor irritants: the bar soap lathered poorly, there was only shampoo standing in for body wash, water pressure was modest, and the shower took a while to heat up. Getting anywhere without a car is essentially impossible, with Ouirgane city center a 20-minute walk, though that's the trade-off for the quiet.
- Meggie (10/5): - Chez Momo was an absolute delight.
The gardens were beautifully maintained and the staff could not have been more attentive.
It is the perfect place to relax after the frenetic time in Marrakesh. Excellent. X
- Vivien (9/5): Relaxing place - The property is gorgeous and the pool and surrounding grounds are incredibly peaceful. We stayed for 2 nights and really enjoyed our stay. Our room was spacious and comfortable as well. Dinner was delicious with some lovely wine on offer. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a reset in morocco! We loved everything!
- Joanne (10/5): A beautiful guesthouse. - I stayed here for 5 nights after a busy and full 2 weeks in Morocco. It was a lovely way to unwind and relax with the opportunity to be a little active with mountain hikes. The staff were attentive and the food was some of the best I had. Was also nice to be able to have a glass of wine!
- Catherine (10/5): Formidable !
- Lonneke (6/5): Villa with lovely garden and pool. - Chez Momo is beautifully located in a peaceful area. The large, clean pool was a real highlight, and we especially appreciated the charming character of the villa. A lovely place to relax and unwind. We felt the rooms could use an update and thorough cleaning. The mattresses were too firm and left us with back pain. There weren’t enough mattresses for the pool beds. The quality of the restaurant was poor, compared to the price standard of the hotel.
- Luciane (10/5): - Our stay at Auberge Chez Momo II was beyond our expectations.
Everything was wonderful — the setting, the atmosphere, and especially the staff, who were warm, welcoming, and attentive throughout our stay.
Our suite had a beautiful direct view of the Atlas Mountains, which made the experience even more special. Waking up to that view was unforgettable.
We also had one of the best meals of our trip in Morocco there — absolutely delicious food, full of flavor and beautifully prepared.
Overall, everything was perfect. The combination of the location, views, food, and exceptional hospitality made this stay truly memorable. Everything perfect!!

- Joanne (10/5): We had a blissful stay and it’s setting in the mountains. All perfect - The beautiful gardens, pool, rooms and hotel design, and its incredible setting in the mountains. The staff all were super helpful and lovely . We had a great 3 hour walk with Ali who was fantastic and so kind. Perhaps restaurant area doesn’t quite match up to the coolness of the rest of the areas
- Ursula (8/5): - Sehr schönes Zimmer mit toller Aussicht.
Sehr freundliches Personal.
- Sue (9/5): - The staff were very friendly, welcoming and professional. The decor in the room and around the hotel was lovely. Wider range of food on the menu
- Benoist MIE (10/5): -
- Isabel (10/5): A wonderful Auberge to relax and soak up the lake and Mountain View’s - Chez Momo is a very welcoming Auberge - the staff looked after us well. Bedrooms were clean and comfortable. We especially enjoyed mojitos on the roof terrace looking at the lake and mountains. The cook is fabulous. We went out hiking and for a Berber lunch one of the days - Ali the guide was super - and the Berber tagine was the best we had during our Morocco trip. The swimming pool looked beautiful but still just a little too cold to dip in. A great stay.
- Elayoudi (10/5): -
- Sue (10/5): Great place to relax in the Atlas mountains - Lovely location, great service and wonderful food.
- Taghi Jilali (10/5): -
- JONATHAN (9/5): -
- Jeanette (9/5): Local auberge - Little oasis in ouirgane. We loved the New Years festivities with a grand menu and a local band playing all night some great tunes. The decor feels very local. We traveled during the cold time of the year and couldn’t use the pool.
- Rehan (8/5): Foud and his family were very good with us and gave us a big discount and lots of free stuff on the house - Foud and his brothers were excellent and provided whatever we asked for. Good for spring and summer holidays but not for winter.
- Salhi (10/5): -
- thierry (7/5): Très bel aménagement, serviable, petit déjeuner parfait -
- Gert-Jan (10/5): - Atmosphere, location, facilities
- Rajaa (10/5): Hidden gem ♥️ - This is my second visit to this beautiful place! Honestly, you can’t ask for more, wonderful set up, beautiful nature, amazing staff, great food. I stayed 2 nights and felt like a new person. If you’re looking to get away and rejuvenate without compromising luxury, that’s the place to be. Can’t wait to come back. Everything was PERFECT
- Teresa (9/5): - Beautiful and comfortable
- Wilko (10/5): Paradijs in het Atlasgebergte - Paradijs in het Atlasgebergte. Super gastvrij, alles kan en niets moet. Regelen leuke gidsen voor activiteiten. Verblijf was boven verwachting.
- Ismail (10/5): Parfait - Top Rien
- Kathryn (8/5): - Beautiful spot in a stunning valley. Very relaxing. Good food. Staff really helpful advising us on where to hike /run
- Stuart (10/5): We're Gan Hame... - Oh how shall I unskilful try the Poet's Occupation.
The happy hours, the tuneful powers.
That whisper inspiration...
As I look oe'r, bold Ouirgane's shore.
Proud Atlas towers ahead
Chez Momo brings its pleasing form.
Oh joy.
I rest my head... Nowt...
- Robin (9/5): - Lage, Zimmer und Essen waren super -

- KALYNKA (10/5): -
Men fint prisniveau.
- Charles Alain (4/5): Disappointing quality and service after mixup - The hotel is beautiful, with a nice pool and fantastic mountains around. There was a mixup with our reservation and they didn't have a prepared room for us. The first one was incredibly dirty and hadn't been cleaned since previous users. After complaining, a new room was provided that was only a slight improvement and we had to ask to have parts cleaned. The owner's brother was finding excuses instead of apologising and actively cleaning our room. I'm sure 90% of reservations won't have this issue, yet even such uncommon instances are not acceptable. Very disappointing.
- Anna (10/5): Gorgeous hotel with a big pool - What a gorgeous hotel. The hotel is a very attractive building with great facilities. The pool is a great size in a very peaceful garden. There is a great terrace on the top of the hotel which is a great place to watch the sunset with a cold beer or cocktail. We came here after 3 days of walking in the Atlas mountains and it was the perfect place to relax and rest the legs. Having to leave!
Calme. Zenitude Qualité du linge delit
- Carrie (10/5): -
- carina (10/5): A great place to stay for 3 nights in the mountains. Staff were really helpful and also recommended a great walking guid - Everything! Nothing!
- Louisiana (10/5): Beautiful hotel for an authentic but elegant stay in the mountains - Beautiful room on top of the restaurant with the most stunning views to wake up to. The garden is maintained wonderfully. And the best was the staff, all so kind and helpful and attentive!
- Robert (9/5): Beautiful hideaway in the Atlas Mountains. - Beautiful buildings in an amazing position. Our first thought was that the images on the website don’t do justice to this incredible place and its gorgeous gardens.
- hicham (9/5): -
- Graham (10/5): Lovely location to relax in the mountains. Great local food. Friendly service - Beautiful setting in High Atlas
RaS
- Dominik (10/5): Exceptional -
- Louise (10/5): 2 night break in Ouirgane. Wonderful auberge and staff. - Staff outstanding, friendly and great service. Beautiful auberge, lovely gardens and pool. Excellent food and good selection of drinks. Nothing
- Laura (10/5): Would highly recommend, it’s such a special experience to stay at Hotel Chez Momo. - Exceptional service. Beautiful hotel with exquisite grounds - lovely flowering gardens. Beautifully decorated rooms. Delicious breakfast and dinners.
- Eva (8/5): Lovely location and great restaurant. Staff are delightful - Food is excellent - great choice of food and drink and lunch.
Only downside is that for dinner they advised it’s a 3 course set menu, with 3 choices at each course. When we came to pay the bill each item is priced separately… we would’ve preferred not to have full 3 courses had we known this Rooms themselves are quite basic and small given the price, compared to other options close by that are cheaper and bigger
- Sofia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Boumaazi (9/5): Superb -
- michaelrH7569ZL (10/5): Wonderful Inn! - We stayed here with a small group tour run by Intrepid. This hotel was the nicest of all of them! Warm & cozy, beds were great, showers forceful & hot. Rooms across from pool very spacious with a nice sitting area and patio. Great views from rooftop decks!
- M (9/5): If you are going to stay in the atlas mountains , stay here you won't be disappointed . - A wonderful hotel in the most amazing grounds. Wonderful staff and delicious food. It really is a great place to stay and so peaceful.
- Seraj (10/5): A hidden gem - A beautiful retreat in the middle of natural beauty overlooking a lake A bit tricky to find
- Kimberly (10/5): Incredible stay in a beautiful backdrop! We highly recommend Chez Momo and hope to go back again! - It was such an incredible experience - a beautiful hotel and landscape, and in a nice location. The staff were so personable and nice. They even built a fire in our room, which was lovely. The attention to detail was noticed whether with check in, the meals or allowing us a late check out. We highly recommend Chez Momo and hope to go back one day! Honestly, we had no complaints with the experience. It is a great price for what you receive and the landscape around it is breathtaking along with the pool area. Great hiking is right nearby as well.
- Jenny (9/5): Superb - Very friendly and welcoming staff. The food was excellent and very good value. We visited in February and it was a little chilly. The staff went out of their way to make it cosy and lit a fire in our room. The views from the roof terrace are amazing. The only negative was the mattress and pillows were very hard.
- Alan (8/5): Very good -
- Bassam (9/5): Superb -
- Nicole (9/5): Superb - Wonderful, charmy small hotel somewhere in a valley. extremely friendly staff, good food, very clean rooms. Even did light a fire in my fireplace in the evening because it was kind of colder
- Zegarski (10/5): Exceptional - A truly welcoming place with exceptional five-star service. The main building and suites are new, beautifully decorated, and our suite was even better than the pictures—cozy and inviting. We loved the delicious food served by the fireplace and the stunning starry views from the rooftop terrace. By far, the best place we stayed in Morocco.
- Anoniem (8/5): Very good - Beautiful hotel with very friendly staff who try to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Many wood burning fire places, even in the rooms. I would not recommend to go to the Ouirigane regio in the December period, the climate is a bit too cold and the pool is not heated, I gues the temperature of the water was around 12deg. which did not make it very comfortable to take a dive.
- matthew (10/5): - We had a wonderful stay at Chez Momo II. The views from the hotel are breathtaking and there is able patio space to relax and take in the surroundings. Food at the hotel was phenomenal and very reasonably priced. Staff was very easy to work with and accommodating. I would highly recommend going for a guided hike to the “top of the world”. Ask for a guide by the name of Mohammed to show you around. Highly recommend this area of Morocco and this hotel specifically.
- 505lesleyw (6/5): Nice views from rooftop but lacking some necessities - We stayed here for one night having booked a classic suite with hotels.com (room 13) and we're a little disappointed for the price we paid of £93 with breakfast. The hotel is situated up a track off of the main road and is well sign posted. The hotel has a lovely bar and restaurant area along with outside seating and a roof top terrace and an outside unheated pool. They really are all very appealing to look at. The views from the roof top terrace were stunning and a lovely place to sit with a drink and admire. We had a superb bottle of Moroccan red wine which was very much enjoyed.
Our room (13) was set in a corner of the garden and inside comprised of a queen bed, sofa and wardrobe along with a bathroom. Unfortunately we weren't able to get any hot water out of the sink or shower for the duration of our stay despite running the water for some time. So no showers for us. Unfortunately felt a little unhygienic. The lights in the room also only partly worked so one side of the room was in darkness. Outside there was no light by our room and it was very dark on returning to the room after dinner. The bed was very hard and not the most comfortablist either. WiFi is only available in the bar and restaurant area and not particularly good which was ok for us. But if you desperately need this ie for work I would consider whether this is the right hotel for you.
We took dinner in the restaurant and again were a little disappointed. We were sold it as a set menu of two choices for starter, main and dessert. The starters were cheese pasta or vegetable soup, the mains were lamb tagine or 2 chicken skewers and chips and the puddings were apple tart (very hard) or banana cream. When we paid the bill each item was individually priced. If we had known they were individual items we certainly wouldn't have had all three. The best being the cheese pasta.
Breakfast consisted of breads, cake, jams, an omelette to share, juice and coffee which we enjoyed.
The hotel overall is very pretty and has amazing views but is definitely lacking some standard necessities.
- mick (6/5): Disappointing - We stayed in room 13 booking a classic suite and were very disappointed. The room consisted of a queen bed, a sofa and bathroom. There is no tv in the rooms as advertised. We had no hot water from the shower or sink taps for the whole duration despite running the taps for some time. It also had part of the room with no lights as they did not work. Dinner was sold as a set menu but on departure we saw that each item had been individually priced and we needed not to have them all. The menu choices were limited also. On a plus side the hotel has some amazing views along with a lovely rooftop seating area, also the restaurant and bar were very pleasant too. In the grounds there is an unheated swimming pool. WiFi is only available in the restaurant and bar not in the rooms. Overall disappointing stay for the price we paid. Would not recommend.
- sally (10/5): Perfect mountain escape but quick to get to. - What a special place. Not only the location and views, but the staff were so lovely, warm welcoming, couldn't do enough to help. Everything was spotlessly clean. The room was lovely. So much character around the hotel. The pool is just big enough for little lengths and perfect in the heat. Beautiful gardens. Amazing value for money. Only 1hr from airport, taxi organised by the hotel. We carried on using the same taxi driver during our stay.
- Matthijs (9/5): A pleasure for the eye, very comfortable and relaxing! - The rooms, the garden, the setting of the swimming pool and the terraces around it: the characteristic atmosphere of the building and the terraces and garden around it: all is of the highest quality but in balance with Moroccan architecture and style. Even though every dish was worth a photo, the quality of the food, the tastiness of it, the variety could be improved.
Equal to Moroccan standards, but for European guests it could have been better. Please think of fresh fruit and juices with breakfast!
- Eveline (9/5): Superb - Highly recommend! Would def stay again! Great breakfast, pool, rooms and food
- Bart (7/5): Nice place, but not great (mainly due to staff issues) - Nice rooms, nice pool, pretty garden. Staff was more interested in their phones than in their guests (contrary to all other places we visited in Morocco). Communication was poor, with the main issue that the staff kept making assumptions on what we would want instead of asking us. There was little to no information on what to do in the area. We dediced to leave a day early (after 2 days instead of 3) and despite the fact that we fully paid for 3 days the manager asked us to give a tip of 10% based on the total sum paid to booking.com upon checkout.
- Kerr (9/5): Superb -
- Avanballegoijen (8/5): Very good - scenery, quiet location, nice rooms, good beds, cosy restaurant and bar with wood fires. beautiful swimming pool with terrace and rooftop terraces. lovely sylvester dinner and live music. wifi lousy, wah basin drain not ok, was immediately repaired but was still draining slow. was locked into bathroom at night because of failing door latch. (room 8).
- Kim (8/5): Very good -
- Paul (6/5): welcoming team who kindly accommodated my mobility issues - beautiful decor and gardens too many steps but I’m disabled
- Cameron (9/5): Peaceful, welcoming and tranquil. - Location was quiet and scenic, close to the lake and saw thousands of stars at night. Breakfast was very tasty and plenty of choice. Dinner was a very reasonably priced 3 course meal exceptionally cooked. If I'm being picky I do love a heated pool but if it was summer and not November I'm sure it would not be needed.
- Milan (8/5): Very good -
- Laura (9/5): Superb - Beautiful area. Secluded and private. The pool is not heated but I enjoyed a quick dip. Dinner was 3 courses with 2 options and very well presented and tasty. Lots of breakfast and traditional. A pleasant experience. I went for a self guided hike nearby and passed some very remote villages.
- Zakaria (7/5): The location and staff are exceptional! I recommend it for a weekend trip - The location and staff are exceptional! it was a bit tricky for us having a 3 months old baby. The bathroom door didn’t close properly, the main door made a loud cracking sound as you open it, and the bed mattresses definitely need to be changed.
- Ismail (9/5): Superb -
- 691khadijab (10/5): A Haven of peace - This place is just amazing, I really recommande it if you're looking to recharge, find peace and run away from the noise of the city. Every thing was great starting with the staff, the room, decoration, food, and of course the placement that will take your breath away.
- sandiissa1 (10/5): Beautiful place with nice people - We loved this place very much
The guys are very good i mean all the stuff including Mohamed
We recommend it very much
The food was amazing
The pool is good
We spend two days, it was very good to had a nice walk in the Valley of Ouirgane
The calmness of the place
- Passport46143201485 (2/5): Horrible - Bad service, no facilities, disaster rooms, no hygiene, no hot water, food not even freshly made, rude owner, literally no reason to be there.
The service was very slow, there are only two guys on the reception and they are the same ones who work at the restaurant and the cleaning women are the one who cook which are only two women.
The room were below poor, there was no hot water, no tv, no wifi, the covers were really the lowest quality yo li can find, in addition to no hygiene.
The garden was full of frogs and insects that were tes treated. I booked two nights and when I wanted to leave after only the first night the owner kept asking me to pay the second night by saying it would be a nice gesture from ne then literally kept asking for money saying it’s a crisis period. The food was horrible the bread was burnt every time they serve it, the food wasn’t freshly cooked, and NOT DELICIOUS at all. Seriously it’s a nightmare. Needs renovation and a proper staff. The only star I gave was for the nature and mountains.
- marouanbe (8/5): Excellent place to disconnect from busy life - Spent 2 wonderful days, great staff very friendly, the view is breathtaking 360 degrees, nothing much to do around but perfect for relaxation and disconnect.
Highly recommended for couple or family and pets are allowed.
- cyriellel2018 (2/5): Beautiful setting but... - It was a let down. The place is set in the beautiful countryside. It has a lot of potential but unfortunatly, the staff (even is they were friendly) were not up to standard. We arrived at 4.30pm. with the COVID situation, they had everything on site for taking the temperature and gel hydro, but did not used them. I had to ask if we had to wash our hand before going in. Once in, we were told to go straight, we arrived in the bar area. The person behind the bar did not great us, he was busy with another guest. We stood 15min waiting to know what to do next. Finally, he looked at us and gave us a paper to fill in. Mind you we were 3 families with 2 kids each who booked 3 family suites. He gave some keys to the housekeeper. All very confusing as he also had some keys in his hand, we did not understand if we had to follow him or the housekeeper. Half way, he told us to follow the housekeeper. She opened the first door of what became our suite. and went on to show our friends their suite. Our room, was with 2 double beds on the side of each other, and a bathroom. You could see straight away the dust, the old taki duvet, and furnitures. In the bathroom, the shower hand was broken, we had to unscrew it to be able to use it. The toilet flush was broken, so the tap had to be shut all the time (to be open when you were to use the toilet), we had to ask for towels as they were not in the room on arrival. Our Room had the air conditioning; our firends had a ventilator in their rooms.
- Zitoun21 (10/5): Professionalism and kindness - We were a group of 14 bike riders sharing a journey through the High Atlas this past March. Chez Momo was our 4th stage. Due to the start of the confinement, we ended staying 3 days in total in this amazing place. What we want to thank Mohamed and his team for the kindness and professionalism they showed us during those difficult times. They were always there for us at anytime of the day or night. They were helpful, smiley, making sure we weren’t missing of anything and keeping the great place all tight up. We couldn’t dream at a better place to wait for our flight back home. We’ll for sure be back and the earliest is the better. You guys are the best.
- C091157 (6/5): Beautiful auberge set in lovely gardens - This place is stunning in terms of the setting and the architecture. The room was great but was disturbed by other guests talking until 3.00am!! We had trekked to the place but no welcome drink offered. The meal was a set menu and of poor quality. Breakfast also plain, omlete with no seasoning and bread and cake. The bar couldn't offer a snack and tea was unavailable mid afternoon. They seem to need more staff and a little more thought into making the whole experience as wonderful as the setting.
