• Xjenai (2/5): - I don’t even know where to begin. The day of my check in I called the bar to make sure I was able to check into my room at 9pm. (Or I would have checked in around 3pm) the answer I received was “oh yeah we are a bar we will be open until 2am… just come up to the bar and we will give you your code”. She also verified my room number while on the phone. Fast forward to 9pm… I pull in and the entire place was SHUT DOWN. I had absolutely no way to get into my room. I called several times and left a message. I still have NEVERRRR received a call back from the Eis House. Luckily enough… I was able to check into my room because the codes on the doors to the rooms are one number off from the units. How safe!!!! When I entered the room the smoke detector was between the wall and the mini fridge, the wires were loose and hanging from the ceiling. I wiped off the surfaces in the room and the wipe was a black outline of my hand. The water pressure was close to zero. DO NOT STAY HERE. Not worth it. In any way shape or form. Worst experience ever.
• James (10/5): - We enjoyed our one night stay at the Eis House. Chrissy was very attentive to our requests when we called with questions. It’s a nice place to stay if you are ever in the Mexico NY area.
• Steven (10/5): - The property was beautiful. Creek winding through the property, walking trails with flora and a fireplace to relax on a crisp August night. The rooms are dated. There is not a doorless walk in shower or granite counters. But the room was clean, the bed was comfortable and the mattress was new and the staff were super friendly and accommodating.

They recently had Syracuse paranormal there. They have video. Would I go back? Absolutely.. I'm not scared. I like this stuff. Great food and great alcohol. Owners are amazing. So besides the friendly ghosts it's a great place.
• Stephen (10/5): Our Mexico trip. - We had a pleasant stay. It is off the beaten path, but not far from main street. McDonald's and Dunkin donuts close by. Also not far from Pulaski to the east, and Oswego to the west.

The not so good: mattress was firm as a hardwood floor. Water pressure so low it just dribbled from the shower head. Room could use a bit of upkeep.

Bed was VERY comfortable. Beautiful view of the river from the sliding glass doors that open to the private deck with table & chairs. Price is reasonable, room was very clean, but could use updating a bit. Heat register in bathroom was rusty as was the towel rack. Sliding glass doors in the back out to the 1st floor deck could not be locked, but this wasn't a high crime area so that did not worry me a lot (if my husband was not with me I probably would have been more concerned about it). Smoke Detector looked as if someone ripped it out of the ceiling—only dangling wires left. But, I would go back there again for the positives.

• Jim (6/5): - Great location. Be sure you call ahead for check-in....we didn't and found the place closed...owners returned call after a bit and let us in but it felt that we got lucky. Room was nice enough, beds very comfortable. The refrigerator did not work, and when we told owner nothing was done. Since the fridge didn't work we didn't cook and can't speak to the stove top. Attached bar/ restaurant is fun and friendly. Good enough food, definitely a local hang out and I liked meeting folks. It was definitely a step up from other places I have stayed in the area

• Verified traveler (4/5): Disappointed - This place could be outstanding with a little tlc. The setting by the river is fantastic and all the rooms have private decks. Birds, deer, bullfrogs all night. This is a great place to observe and enjoy nature. It needs redecorating and cleaning. Power wash the deck, clean off the chairs, and replace rusted bathroom fittings. The menu sounded great but the food was substandard and the price was crazy.

• Christopher (8/5): - My wife and I stayed at the EIS house for a fishing trip. The room was spacious and clean. The best part was the restaurant was 100 feet from our sliding glass door. We had dinner there all three nights, GOOD FOOD !
• Dolores (10/5): - EIS house is tucked away in the back fields in Mexico NY. The building is very unassuming and at first we weren’t sure w had the right location. It is part of a ‘catering hall, pub, restaurant’. You have to go into the restaurant and sign in with the owner. Code entry to the rooms. We stayed in a two bed room. The efficiency room is new, very clean, simple yet very comfortable. Beds and linens were cozy. Shower had amazing water pressure. Having the restaurant right there is convenient. There is a river that runs along the back of the property. Very pretty. The only thing I would have liked would be fresh coffee in the lobby as the complimentary coffee in the room was, well you know. The staff are friendly and accommodating. I’d stay there again.

Price is great and the huge parking areas/grounds/restaurant/bar are just a bonus. The scenery and deck off the room were priceless! Really nice owner couple that takes fantastic care of you. Food was delicious! The hubby already booked to go back this weekend for a fishing tournament. Thanks so much for an awesome stay!

• Verified traveler (8/5): Overall - I'm very happy! - Room- was clean and comfortable, a bit noisy in the morning because music (from the bar) was playing but it was not obnoxiously loud - *note, this room was the closest in proximity to the lounge. Bar- nice atmosphere, friendly service and wonderful staff. Restaurant - considering it was not busy, dinner took much longer then a "typical" long wait. Considering we had somewhere to be at a specific time, we had to eat fast and fly out. Food was delicious and order was correct so maybe this was a one time occurrence. Over all- would I recommend this place to a friend? Yes!

• Lorraine (10/5): Great Place to Stay - Never have I ever been to a hotel that smells so fresh when you walk in. This is our second stay at the Eis House and the rooms are very nice and the food and service were excellent both times.

The place was clean and looks like the owners care and take pride in their facilities. The restaurant/bar was superb. There’s also a McD and gas station close by. Mexico is 15-20 minutes from the salmon river and the drive wasn’t too bad. It isn’t the Tailwater but for the price, I will look to book here again.

Discounted $40 but son was left to sleep on a skinny couch and was uncomfortable after a long day. Disappointing.

• Sean (6/5): Thank god for good food! - There pictures and descriptions didn’t quite match the Room we stayed in. I was led to believe the room I booked had a deck that faces the river with a nice view. ( It faced the parking lot on the opposite side of the hotel. The room was sapose to accommodate 2 adults and a child if needed and said there was a rollaway bed. When checking in they charged a extra 25 for a old beaten down fold out bed cot that was 5 inches off the ground. There was random mixed matched furniture that had no functionality and took up space. Even though I wanted a room for two people and they had a room with two beds they said that was a little extra, they didn’t give us that one and still charged me 25 bucks for the extra bed. The tv was spotty and ran off of slow WiFi. Only one room was advertised to be available when clearly the place was not sold out or even close. No signs or directions as to where to check in. That’s at the bar/restaurant. It appeared that one lady was the bartender/ waitress/ cleaning lady/ and checking us in. The couple other staff appeared to be brand new and being trained so food service was slow. Although the food was actually good! This is definitely not a 125 hotel room and it was clear there rates were higher because of a month of fisherman traveling to near by area to fish. There advertising sweets lol and they clearly were not. The furniture looked as if it was from a yard sale of church give away and was just all throw together.
• Adriana (4/5): - The property was very crappy unfortunately, we thought it'd be nice from the photos but pics can sure be deceiving!! Other downside was our room smelled terrible like cat piss, very odd smell. I also didn't realize that no one is at the front desk past 10pm so she had to text us the information tonget into our room and we couldn't even find the room, very confusing. Luckily others who were still awake when we got there late at night helped us out!!
• David (10/5): - Arrived on a Sunday put in the code for our room and was mildly surprised with the room it had a patio that overlooked the river and it was like being in a small woods with all the trees around us. We were the only occupants in the motel for our first two days so it was very quiet. Easy access to everything in the area.
• Clay (8/5): - Property was pleasant, staff were great. Deck needed a good power washing and room floor made my bare feet black. Obviously understaffed.
• Marjorie (8/5): - This place is a little short on decent furnishings. Our room had a sofa and two library chairs (wooden, straight back). The bed was so soft I ended up sleeping on the couch. The property has a nice patio but there was no outside furniture to be able to use it. None of these things are game changers since the place is nice but I think for the amount we paid we certainly could have expected a few upgrades and additions. I am not sure we would stay there again. One thing I forgot was there is no front desk so if a person needs something (such as ice) it can take a while to get it. Again, a small thing but it all adds up.
• Frederick (8/5): Great location, very welcoming. - Room was super clean.Air conditioners worked great. Friendly staff, delicious food, great view for this nature lover. Downside: The mattress was lumpy and very saggy. Would love to come back in the Fall but barely slept and woke up with a sore back. Great place otherwise!
• David (6/5): - Proprty staff was extremely nice and helpful, however, room itself was less than disireable. We were unaware that there would not be housekeeping during our stay. Occupants of adjoining room were extremely loud all night due to floor being old and was loud to walk on. The bed was comfortable, but the water just fell out of the shower head due to no pressure. I did not inform staff, we just made due for our short stay. Upon request for fresh towels our request received a prompt reply and fresh towels were delivered. The staff was very friendly and very accomodating for our schedule.
• Pat (4/5): - The rooms where clean but fixtures and furniture very dated. In my room the TV in living room would only show on demand channels. Found the TV remotes in desk and neither had batteries. The TV cable in bedroom worked fine but the Dish controller was just wedged behind the wall mounted TV like it was thrown up there. Lamp tree by desk has all three bulbs blown. The bed was very uncomfortable. There was only one coffee cup and nothing but decaf coffee. The unit had a kitchenette but nothing to clean dishes with like pot scrubbie. Clocks all blinking like the power went out recently. Just a lot of details missed that are fairly simple. I would and will stay there again because it seemed clean and convenient.

• CINTHIA (10/5): - We stayed here 3 times already and we love it. Clean, easy access, just 10 minutes from Pulaski. We already have reservations for next year.
• Coleen (4/5): It's all about the bed and it failed - The room was clean and Tanya went above and beyond to see that we were settled, but the bed was horrible. It sagged so much in the middle, when we were both in the bed, that it was not comfortable. Room darkening curtains would also be helpful; with the light outside the window, the room was far from dark. When the neighbors came in at 10 pm we could hear them conversing, fortunately they were only up for 30 or so minutes. The TV froze and after giving it 5-10 minutes, it was still frozen, would not even turn off... I had to climb up on a chair to reach the plug to unplug it and plug it back in, and it was fine afterward.
• CINTHIA (10/5): - We loved the area. So quiet and our room was very clean. We went to their restaurant on Saturday and the house burger is to die for (you need to try it). Wish they were open on Sunday. The check-in process super easy. We’re staying there in 2 weeks again.
