- Riin (9/5): Superb - The villa had very friendly service and a hospitable owner. The villa had a very nice pool with clean water. The breakfast was delicious and different each morning, but fresh fruit and yogurt were available each morning. Tangalle was a very peaceful area (there are many restaurants along the beach, but many of them were completely deserted). The best beaches are a bit further from the hotel - if you are looking for a good surfing beach to relax, I recommend choosing another area. At the same time, you can also find good places for swimming and just relaxing in Tangalle, and a villa with a pool was definitely a big bonus in this area.
- Bernadette (10/5): Excellent value with friendly staff, highly recommend - This is a great little hotel with a good clean pool set in well maintained property. It is cleverly lit at night with coloured lights displaying the well kept flora. We stayed in a garden villa with a private and spacious landscaped courtyard. The hotel is well situated within easy walking distance of all the restaurants and beach cafes but do make a point of dining here one evening as their cuisine is superb - try the coconut prawn curry. Breakfasts are good too with generous helpings of various fruits. Sergei the host is most welcoming and helpful, arranged for a return tuk tuk to take us to different beaches further up the coast and also a car to take us onto our next destination. Cannot fault this hotel.

The property was spotlessly clean, and the private pool was maintained daily, making it a perfect place to relax. The shower was powerful and refreshing, and the AC in the main room worked well, ensuring a comfortable stay. The owner was incredibly hospitable and went out of his way to help with anything we needed. The villa is also very close to a beautiful beach with great bars, making it an ideal location. Highly recommended! The AC in the master bedroom wasn’t as powerful as we would have liked, so the room didn’t get as cool as expected. The mosquito netting could do with replacing, as the traditional Sri Lankan-style doors have small gaps that naturally allow more insects inside. Although the shower was fantastic, the overall bathroom facilities could benefit from an upgrade.

- Caroline (9/5): Large villa in a lovely location - It's a great location close to the beach and the town. The pool is lovely - a good size for adults and a children's pool.The villa was spacious and comfortable. It was cleaned every day. When we drew Sergei's attention to the need for handles on the door he responded quickly by fitting them. The breakfast is generous - the fruit is always very ripe and tasty. The omelettes and eggs are very nice and there are all sorts of extra things - vegetables, potatoes, salad, roti - which we found a little too much to manage. Sergei suggested a trip to a bird sanctuary and safari park. The safari in a park was a good option for children. There is a need for maintenance around the pool around the private villa where covers are missing on drains - this was difficult/dangerous with children. These repairs would have taken time and need to be done while there are no guests. We did tell Sergei that the shower by the pool is broken and he said it was probably broken by monkeys but did not offer to repair it. A shower outside would have been helpful. We had to mop the terrace and around the pool each day because it was dirty and problematic for children.

- Guus (8/5): Very good - Our daughter had her 4th birthday the day after we arrived at the hotel. The wife of the hotel owner made her a beautiful personalized birthday cake which was super nice! We had a very big room next to the pool with 2 double beds. The bathroom is basic but fine. There were some ants in the room but that is just Sri Lanka :) Our daughters loved the pool. Breakfast is very nice, different every day and has big portions. The hotel is located very close to the beach and also in walking distance of restaurants. One of the beds was attached to the wall but this gave some stains in the bed linen. This could use some maintenance/repairing.

Room was a big family room met our needs, hotel was empty when we arrived so had the place to ourselves and kids swam till all hours enjoying the large pool, and the friendly dog mawi which kids enjoyed playing with. Short walk to tangalle beach though couldn’t swim lovely stretch to walk along. Few cafes close by.

Nothing was too much of a bother! The beach outside the property has a river running into it which is quite dirty and wouldn’t be suitable for swimming. Travel to find nicer beaches further along the way!

A/C in rooms is very good. Room was very spacious. Location was close to centre and not too far from nice beaches. There was no hot water in the shower and we found the stay quite expensive for what it was.
- Sarah (10/5): Wonderful hidden gem - We had a wonderful stay here for 4 nights. Rooms immaculate (ours was enormous). Complimentary water,coffee,tea, and toiletries were a lovely touch. The owner of the hotel literally couldn't do enough for us and his breakfasts were the best we've had while in Sri Lanka with a lovely selection of different food every morning. And we even saw a beautiful woodpecker in the tree facing our balcony. Perfect ❤️ Nothing
- Hayley (8/5): Lovely host, hard working staff , lovely beaches and great sea food - Thank you to the lovely host that made us feel really welcome for the last week. We didn’t really have much of a plan when we got there, but the host made sure he informed us about all the great things we could do in the local area,  and arranged taxis and tickets for us to go on Safari and to visit the area. The food at the host cooked was absolutely beautiful, the breakfast was really nice with lots to choose from and really up for the day.  he is happy to cook for you in the evenings and we had a seafood platter and prawns which was absolutely stunning., it was really yummy.  it’s a nice quiet area, the beaches are lovely but we had their weather but they’re still plenty to do in the area in the rain.  This accommodation is very suitable for families and also any other travellers. It is very close to the beach as well within walking distance, and if you just walk up a little bit further, there was really beautiful beaches We were happy with our room, we got an upgrade to a bigger room, which is brilliant, we got options of the room as well, but we was happy where we were. It was cleaned we had fresh towels and the beds were really comfortable. The Wi-Fi wasn’t the strongest, but we didn’t come here for the Wi-Fi We came here to explore the area.

- Lewicka (4/5): Disappointing - The facility has a good location, close to the beach. Tangalle center is also nearby.The breakfast was tasty and suited to the time that suited us Unfortunately, the hotel is completely not worth the price we have to pay for it. The announcement on booking is misleading. It states that the facility has two swimming pools, which is not true. We were looking for the second swimming pool throughout our stay and it turned out that it was behind a wall halfway up the facility and unfortunately not available to hotel guests. As I mentioned, halfway through the property there is a wall, behind which there is a second part of the bungalow and the mentioned second swimming pool. Behind the wall is a terrible mess that you have to look at while eating breakfast. Unfortunately, the room was very dirty. The bathroom probably wasn't cleaned before our arrival as there was a huge amount of hair in the shower. There was also trash left by other guests. The pool wasn't the cleanest either. Wifi didn't work at all. We took a more expensive room with front water view. But the online view we had it was wall view. I think you can find a much better hotel for this price.
- Iva (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely hotel with amazing swimming pool! We especially enjoyed fresh mango smoothies and delicious pancakes, the owner even made oat porridge for our kids :-) We really enjoyed our stay in Tangalle and we hope to come back in future.

- Jimmy (4/5): Villa Tangalle Lagoon: lämnar en del att önska... - Då vi kom till hotellet fick vi välja mellan 3 olika rum; villa vid havet hela vistelsen, familjerum i 3 nätter sedan byta eller rum med liten pool utanför rummet (som delas med andra familjer). Vi valde rummet med liten pool utanför dörren. Tyvärr var rummet ostädat med smutsigt golv, blinkande glödlampor och läckande VVS-rör i duschen (saknades varmvatten) samt smutsiga sängkläder som vi fick säga till personalen att byta dock blev dubbelsängens sängkläder endast bytt och inte gästsängen, som för övrigt saknade myggnät. Observera lyhördheten mellan rummen och de olika faciliteterna, det är tätt mellan husen. Frukosten var simpel i SeaFood-restaurangen med en del att önska medan hotellpersonalens service var okey - man får det man betalar för. Boendet passar bäst för en kort vistelse för en icke-krävande familj eller ett par och det bästa med hotellet är läget eftersom det är nära till centrum och ett antal goda restauranger och stranden intill hotellet. Tangalle är en liten stad med litet centrum, gästvänligheten är dock stor.
- Lance (10/5): Bedroom Villa with Private Pool - The villa was amazing excellent service, and in immaculate condition. The breakfast was one of the best we had in Sri Lanka. Overall was one of the nicest places, and close to the beach.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Eigentlich gut, aber leider vernachlässigt - Eigentlich schöne Strandbungalows, aber gesamte Anlage ist vernachlässigt. Etwas investieren und renovieren dann wäre es gut. Personal sehr freundlich, Fruehstueck gut. Lage am Strand und mit Stadtbaehe gut. Zu teuer fuer das Gebotene.
- Fehmida (6/5): Basic hotel close to the beach and town centre - Stayed here for 2 nights. Very basic hotel and could do with some refurbishments. It was convenient for us in terms of the closeness to the beach, transport and town centre.
- Patrick (6/5): Overpriced - With us being on honeymoon, we chose the 'romantic' villa option with pool. If you're considering booking this option, don't bother. The room was extremely basic...probably the worst we stayed in all honeymoon. The pool was also dirty, not inviting at all. On the plus side, it's located right next to the beach and the beachside cafe provided us with a great breakfast. However, overall it was well overpriced for the facilities on offer and there would probably be better alternatives in Tangalle
