Guest Reviews

Nada
- Uwe (10/5): Zimmer sehr gut, Essen super, klare Empfehlung! -

Totalmente recomendable.
- Merran (10/5): I want to stay in San Hipólito again. - All the food - dinner and breakfast - was excellent for choice, quality, preparation and value for money. The breakfast is much better than the average in small hotels in Spain. The location is wonderful if you like historical buildings in a peaceful small village, but not far from Fromista and the motorway to Santander. The management and staff are exceptionally kind and helpful. The only problem on a warm Saturday evening in August was the happy gathering of locals in front of the hotel, talking and laughing until 1 o’clock in the morning! It was hardly the fault of the hotel and, in fact, added to the good atmosphere.
- Maite (10/5): -
- JR (10/5): A great little hotel . - Anna our host was excellent and welcoming . The rural hotel is fully air conditioned so no probs in v hot weather . Nice bar in the “cellar” and prices are very reasonable - we paid apprx £122 for the bed room, pre dinner drinks and dinner with a bottle of local wine and breakfast = result !!
- Peter (10/5): Great place to stay, highly recommended! - This hotel is highly recommended. The staff is super friendly and speaks very well english, the place is very cosy. Locals gather around the bar in the evening while kids are playing on the plaza. It makes you feel like home. The bar is very nice and the evening dinner was handmade by the owners and delicious. The village is very quiet and relaxing. I will certainly come back when i travel to the region! Thank you for making us feel at home. Muchos gracias. A Belgian Family of 4.
- Clive (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mar (10/5): Exceptional - Everything.. Nothing.
- Ron (10/5): Perfect, quiet village stay - great host - Lovely room. Great view, lovely location. Very warm welcome. Delicious food. All good
- Antonio (10/5): Great place, great people. - Clean, very comfortable, very friendly.
Food delicious, taste love.
- Deborah (10/5): Comfortable, welcoming rural hotel. We will be back! - Lovely old building, beautifully renovated and authentically furnished. The Manager was very welcoming and friendly and went above and beyond, preparing a tasty early breakfast for us so that we could get on our way to Santander for the ferry. The 3 course evening meal was excellent and very good value. Wish we could have stayed longer to explore the village and local area. Nothing! Everything was great!
- Jacqui (10/5): Very special Spanish experience. - Lovely Building , cute rooms . Located next to a beautiful church . Everything was lovely
- Juliet (10/5): A very nice stay - Lovely rustic hotel in nice setting
- Graham (10/5): Very comfortable hotel with welcoming staff. - Property is 100 miles from Santander, located in a small village a couple of miles off the main road. We could not have been made more welcome, Anna and her staff were brilliant. The bar and restaurant were excellent value with a good choice of menu. Couldn’t fault it and will definitely stay there again.
- Steven (10/5): Like coming home. - One of the finest hotels we've ever stayed in. Clearly a matter of honesty and respect for the customer. this is how it should be everywhere. Nada!
- Ali (9/5): Superb -
- Lynda (10/5): We often stop over on route to and from ferry and this will be a definite to return. They even welcome dogs so very usef - Little gem in a quiet town but located next door to the most amazing church. Close to the motorway for our onward journey to the ferry the following morning. Annabelle was so welcoming and the freshly cooked food was delicious. She even made an extra early breakfast for us as we had to leave early. Nothing
- Caroline (10/5): Wonderful hotel, one that shouldn't be missed. - We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and was made to feel very welcome. We had dinner at the hotel as well as breakfast and the food was delicious. All made on the premises and exceptional quality. We visited the church, its amazing. Will definitely be going back.
- Michael (9/5): Overnight stay onto Santander - Totally charming and unexpected!! Location cannot be beaten in the grounds of 14th century church. The hostess was gracious couldn’t do enough for us. Bathroom only had a bath which was difficult getting into and slippery. Would have preferred a shower.
- Patrick (9/5): Restful night in very beautiful village - Beautiful small hotel in very pretty village. Bed was so comfortable we slept through our alarm! We were very warmly welcomed by Ana. For us the bathroom let it down, the shower wasn’t very strong or hot.
- Clive (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jeremy (9/5): Superb -
- Christian (10/5): For the price we paid our stay exceeded all our expectations - A typical Spanish breakfast of fruit, fruit juice, delicious cake and toast with honey hams and jams. The location in this very quiet picturesque village was perfect as only a short distance to the motorway. Nothing
- Clive (9/5): Charming hotel in a beautiful location. - A charming hotel in a beautiful location. The food was particularly good and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
- David (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely lady runs the hotel.
By rights she should own it!
- Jorge (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nick (9/5): Superb - Service & food exceptional.
Location is traditional, historical, interesting & charmingly quirky.
The welcome was extremely warm, nothing was too much to ask & we loved this taste of real Spain. Nothing!! It's not a posh hotel, but if you like genuine & friendly, this is definitely worth a visit.
- Amanda (10/5): Piece of heaven - We were absolutely delighted with our stay. Anna and her team couldn’t have been more lovely.
Beautiful room, stunning cathedral and delicious food.
We will return again soon thank you so much !!
- Jette (10/5): Very nice little countryside hotel - Everything was perfect. We arrived rather late, but the houselady made a delightful meal for us. Very quiet in a small historic village. We had a fine room at the 1th floor with everything we needed. The hotel itself is settled in an old house, very fine restored. Some time away from the highway, but worth it. Nothing.
- Juan (9/5): Superb - The welcome received and the 'personal' touch from staff
- Sarah (8/5): Very good -
- Tora (9/5): Superb - Position delightful, food excellent, staff friendly and helpful Water in bathroom could have been hotter. M
- Anush (10/5): will definitely come back - very cozy environment. great staff -very welcoming, accommodating, patient and extremely helpful. in-house restaurant, delicious food may do with little improvement on the breakfast choices. slow communication over the booking website.
- Maria (10/5): town and place with fantastic surprises - very homey and comfortable accomodstion. town location surprises w very interesting church. outstanding surroundings.
they serve excellent meals -
- Anthony (10/5): perfect in every detail. - everything staff food accommodation and location absolutely fabulous. it had a really happy staff which reflects on every part of hotel. nothing is too much trouble, will certainly visit again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - What a find! So much more than the usual quick overnight motorway motel. Still equally accessible - but traditional Spain at its best. Wonderfully authentic with added bonus of very reasonable, excellent restaurant as well. Lovely village for little explore/morning run with majesty of church and views. Fantastic host with excellent English. Ideal stopover either going to/coming from the ferries at Santander or Bilbao. Don't miss out!
- MR RM (10/5): Gracias - As before a lovely place to stay, very dog friendly, and very friendly people making our stay even more enjoyable. Thankyou
- Monica (10/5): Nice rural hotel in a beautiful village - Family run hotel. The room had fantastic views to the church. Rooms very clea and nicely decorated. We felt at home during our stay.
