Guest Reviews
- Ines (2/5): - Nada agradable
- Clarence (8/5): - Staff was very helpful.
- YOSHIMOTO (10/5): - good
- Boguslaw (8/5): - noisy air conditioning
- Ernestine (6/5): - Budget friendly and hot showers. Okay for an overnight and quiet neighbors.
- Laura (8/5): - Room was comfortable and clean.
- Robert (10/5): - Nice motel
- Susie (10/5): - Nice motel, staff was very friendly. Bed was comfortable and room was quiet. Good value.
- alejandro (8/5): Overnight stay in Barstow - Arrived around midnight and rung the bell they have for service. Was greeted by the host at the window, gave my information and then was processed in the lobby. I felt bad cause I felt like they were sleeping, so I don’t believe this 24hr service. Which isn’t bad as they had emailed me the day before asking what time I would be arriving. I was processed and told my room, parking is free and I was able to find a spot so that’s a win. The room was a spacious two queen. The AC worked perfectly. They don’t have a lot of accommodations like blow dryer , shampoo conditioner (not a deal breaker as this was a budget stay just for sleep)
I will say the only downfall was our TV which was pretty big, did not have any kind of television service . It said the service was not working and to contact the provider directly. Not a big deal as I would’ve only watched for a bit. But I feel like maybe it’s been like this for a while
- Khyler (10/5): - Very nice people and rooms are clean .
- Bill (8/5): Great for a business trip - For the price. It was a great deal. The only problem I had was the hotel was negotiating with me to pay more for an early check-in… I told him I was gonna cancel the reservation in that case, but they ended up waving the fee… something I’ve never heard of, but overall it was a great place to stay at for the price. I will definitely stay here again for a business trip sleep, and go to work.
- Jason (10/5): - For the price the place was great.
- Casey (10/5): - Definitely a travel hotel but he keeps it nice
- VALERIE (8/5): - It was ok for a few days.
- David (10/5): - A little musty, but not bad for the price
- Twila (6/5): - The room was clean and had clean towels. It needed Outlets fixed and plumbing fixed also the door had gaps around that let the cold air come in.
- Jayson (6/5): - It was just ok. Amenities are bad, no ice machine, wi-fi is bad
- RANDAL (10/5): - It was very convenient and a nice room
- April (6/5): Look Out for Your Card - I literally only booked this motel because the pictures showed carpet in the room. I know, crazy, but I like what I like. It made me mad that I booked two rooms and one had carpet and looked like the pictures, while the other had vinyl floors and was crappy in every way, even had a different bed. So I got the crappy room, even though I paid for both while my guest enjoyed what felt like a room in a different motel. A still crappy motel, just less crappy. Think- light fixtures with no bulbs with mismatched shades and the "art" over the bed hung upside down. Too funny.
I support small motels. But I'll never return here and let me tell you why-
the proprieter of this motel took a picture of my debit card, front and back, with his tablet. I've lived in motels off and on over the last decade, and this is so abnormal I've never had another do it. He asked me for a cash deposit, which was news to me, and when I said, can you put it on my card or direct me to an ATM, he took a picture of my card instead. Bro, in case you aren't aware, that's not quite cool. I sure hope you deleted it, but thanks for putting my debit card image out there to potentially be exposed. Also, you're rude! Customers are doing YOU a favor, not the other way around. You aren't granting your precious permission to stay. You should be grateful for anyone willing to stay in your 80 year old sunbaked below average motel literally in the middle of nowhere. The original owners would cry.
- ANDY (8/5): - Very good reception, reasonable pricing. Nothing to talk about, except that for a motel in mid of a desert, you did a good job. The only thing is, you need to fix that ICE MACHINE to accommodate your guests. Other than that, you did well.
- Jun (10/5): - Awesome stay
- Adi (6/5): Overnight in Barstow - This is a Motel in a row of other motels in this area. The only good thing I can say: the best shower I had in my trip!!! The beds are confortable and the room is decently spaced. The area around did not give a safe feeling. Food option around are small. I went to the Denny's. The hotel might look to be far from the train line - but I could hear the train going at night time.
- Tiffany (8/5): - It is always peaceful but they do not like you to have company.
- Tiffany (8/5): - Other than being locked out of my room I payed for I would rate this hotel the best.
- Dimiana (6/5): - Not enough towels, no soap body wash shampoo or conditioner but overall clean bed and room. There is a room for office.
- Alisha (6/5): - It was decent stay for the night, thank you
- Lizz (4/5): - Wasn't able to pay online don't have my card on me
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice quiet rooms, updated features. Parking lot a little small though
- Judy (10/5): - For the price it was good, it suited my needs, I felt safe and I slept well.
- Gary (10/5): - Staff was super nice
- Melisande (2/5): Disgusting - Oh my...our room was so dirty! Hair and dust on the floor, trash under the bed, nail cisors and hair pins on the bathroon floor...and it was so cold! The bathroom towels were dirty and smelled bad...
- Logan (10/5): - Excellent quiet stay. Great price, hot water, bed was comfy. Would stay again. Thank you.
- Verified traveler (8/5): One night stopover in Barstow - Got bitten by bed bugs, thus the low rating. Check-in was smooth - friendly owners. Building was old but the room/bathroom were clean and spacious. Bathroom had stale smoke smell. Cofeee maker, microwave and fridge available. Card key access to bedroom. Hot water and good water pressure for shower
- Tuvonya (8/5): - We enjoyed our stay, it was comfortable and relaxing 😁👍The only thing I was not happy about was the $50 deposit that I was not aware of until check in.
- Paul (10/5): Clean and Affordable - Recently upgraded interior. Very clean,
spacious single rooms, warm water and amazingly affordable.
- Gabre (10/5): - Once you’ve done your homework on searching for the right hotel, and you’ve found the one that’s comfortable for you, search no further. My family stayed here on 2 separate occasions 30 days apart.
- Summer (2/5): - Never stay there again
- Sean (8/5): - It was really quiet and clean,
- laura (10/5): Great budget Motel - Overnight stop. Staff was very friendly. Room clean and quiet. I would stay again.
- Mr (10/5): - It was nice a low key
- Joseph (10/5): - No frilles motel, perfect for guys in town for work that just need a shower and place to sleep.
- Michael (10/5): - Clean, affordable and comfortable bed. Front desk clerk was very courteous.
- Kathryn (10/5): - Great for a clean bed and a hot shower!
- Antonio (8/5): Good for the price - Good hotel. Good price for the area. There was a little bit of road noise from the nearby highway but not loud enough to disrupt my sleep. The initial room I opened was a little dirty due to housecleaning not arriving yet. Talked to front desk, they immediately got me a new key for a clean room! No fuss at all. Warm water worked. I’ll book here again when I’m in Barstow.
- Jennifer (10/5): Quiet friendly place - Just what we needed
- Joey (2/5): - Booked a room for my wife, infant child and myself. Arrive to said room being unavailable at 12am after driving 10 hrs. Then I almost had to break the door to get out because the guy had me locked in the lobby.
- COLLEEN (4/5): - The lights in the room were all pot lights. No lights by the beds. There was only a small desk to put luggage or things on. We couldn't get the tv remote to turn the tv on. I tried to turn it off manually but it wouldn't turn off. Ended up putting a towel over it to block out the light.
- Efte (2/5): - Terrible Staff & service.
- Maolin (10/5): Nice - Nice Stay!
- Trina (2/5): - The property was old and outdated look like something from the 70s. The rooms did also it had a worn out mattress that squeaked.
- Roxanne (10/5): Great customer service - Great customer service. Super friendly and reasonably priced. Perfect location, right in the middle of town and close to all the restaurants and other stores that you might need while visiting.
- Stephen (10/5): Great hotel at a great price - Customer service top notch. There was always someone on site. When we walked in the room, it was clean, it smelled nice, just overall great experience
- Kam (10/5): - The staff here is very friendly.
- Ronda (10/5): - It's comfy and the owners are very understanding and nice
- Re (10/5): - Was very nice and clean ans quiet and safe . The owners were very polite and helpful. No complaints from me.
- Michael (8/5): - Old property but clean
- Sandra (10/5): - Very good service
- Justin (10/5): - Place is so much better than we expected, bed felt new and everything is clean and fresh
- John (6/5): - Room looks nice. The refrigerator was a bummer however. Initially it was off, so I turned it on, but it only cooled at an almost imperceptible level. The opportunity to have a cold beer in the evening was lost. I asked if I could have a different room. They said they would check for another room, but never got back to me. This left a sour taste for the evening. Only by morning was there any significant cold in the fridge, but that was too little to late. Wouldn’t come back due staff indifference.
- salvador (10/5): - Very good i hope back soon
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Sketchy people out and about all day and night. The man that checked me in was not friendly at all. Terrible customer service. Everything was unplugged in the room. The remote to the tv didn't work. The bed was a disaster!!! The floor would have been better to sleep on.
- Mazen (2/5): - This place is absolutely terrible. The guy at the front desk gave me a key to a room that already had someone. That guy was about to kill me and i honestly don’t blame him. When I got to the guy in front desk he didn’t even care. Regarding the room it say full of hair everywhere. I was offer to live here again for free I wouldn’t take it.
- Martha (6/5): - Room was newly done, but property is located in a small town
- Debra (8/5): Clean & inexpensive, fit my purpose well - good fit for my purpose since I was just passing through town briefly. It is older but inexpensive, clean, quiet, air conditioning was noisy but worked wonderfully, coffee pot, microwave, refrigerator worked. Shower was good, plenty of hot water, I slept wonderfully and the bedding was immaculate. Minor language barrier at checkin but the young gentleman was very pleasant and polite and we made it work. The location was a little sketchy, it's in the older part of town, I would not have been comfortable walking around after dark, but there was nowhere to walk to and I didn't go out anyway so that was not a problem for me on this trip. I will be making this trip regularly and I will probably continue to stay there each time. The sign says it is the Stardust Inn but someone had taped over the "dust" part and now it's just called the Star Inn, but it was difficult to find on the maps because it's still listed under Stardust. Don't miss the Mohave River Valley Museum - fossils, rocks & geology, local history, books and much much more!
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Need to do a cash deposit. Guys were in the parking lot boxing with gloves at 4am. Took a while to come to the front desk to let me check out in the morning.
- rafael (10/5): - It was okay
- Nylah (2/5): - checked in around 10-11 pm. room did not match the photos. my biggest issue was the a/c. 110 degrees in barstow and the a/c was working yes but it wasn’t blowing out enough to cool the room off so i was just laying there hot for almost a hour. very uncomfortable. i told the front desk and the guy said he’d fix it but it wasn’t broken. it just wasn’t powerful enough on full speed. so i checked out no later than a hour after checking in. i understand no refund policy so i just took the loss but i was hoping staff would understand & politely refund me. i didn’t fuss or cause a big deal i just left. the guy was nice but i feel it could’ve been handled in a more fair way for me.
- Brett (10/5): - Stayed here multiple times. Family owned remodeling the hotel. A gem in the middle of the desert. No frills but clean, friendly and definitely worth staying for the price.
- Xaya (10/5): - Hotel clerk was friendly and ensured efficiency in our one-night stay. Will come again if I'm back out there! :)
- Jacquelyn (8/5): - Hard to find at night, the sign was not lit. The room was ok but had an odor and in the middle of the night my husband found hair in his sheets which was not his
- William (10/5): - Staff has been very accommodating with my needs, and it has been a very quiet and pleasant stay
- Byung (10/5): - THANK YOU VERY MUCH
- Patrick (6/5): - The floor is unclean and water is not hot enough for shower
- Michael (6/5): Barstow stay - Motel is in a kind of sketchy area, although the bounded parking lot seemed secure. Parking lot was clean. Motel is showing its age and could use a refresh/update. Bedding appeared clean, but sheets had stains. One thing that surprised me is the small number of rooms that appeared to have people living in them.
- Lecia (10/5): - Great customer service and comfortable clean room. The location isn’t great, but it felt as safe (or safer) than any other motels nearby. Would definitely stay again, great value
- Paul (8/5): - The room is fine. Walked to get some dinner and there was excrement on the sidewalk in several places. Also lots of vagrants looking you over and one even pressed their face against the window at the cafe I was eating at. Front desk had an issue finding my reservation but it was resolved with a phone call. There is lots of traffic noise at this location.
- Ashley (10/5): R30 Review StarDust Inn - My stay so far has been peaceful and nice. My room is spacious and has all that I need during my stay. There are convenient stores within walking distance. Places to eat near by on main street.
The staff was kind and respectful.
I appreciate the service.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Was well above my expectations for a $60-$70/night motel, very happy.
- Kestrel (10/5): - A very pleasant little motel with very helpful staff
- Way2 (2/5): - Roaches I had my 3 month old daughter. I was even denied a refund
- don (10/5): - liked it a lot
- Yu (4/5): - The room has an odor smell and the window cannot be opened. The air conditioner has a sour smell also. I woke up many times during the night due to the heat, smell, and noise from upstairs. Barstow city has been gone down so fast in the past two years, the area is not safe to live overnight.
- Edward (8/5): - It was a really nice inn however it is near gambling and it's right next to the freeway. It is a pet friendly hotel unfortunately for us the person staying next to us had a dog that kept barking until their return which was 11:30 so keep that in mind if your just passing through.
- Sheree (10/5): - Checking in was very nice, we got in late but the gentlemen were so nice! It was a great place to rest while traveling!
- Verified traveler (6/5): Cleanliness was an issue - I can’t say that the room was filthy but it was certainly not clean. I’m not sure if the bed sheets were washed as there were stray hairs on them and holes in them. The pillows and mattress are probably decades old. The bathroom tub had a lot of stains and dark spots so I didn’t shower. I found and killed a silverfish on the wall. The front desk people were nice. Overall, this is a cheap place to stay so you get what you pay for.
- Kim (10/5): - This is the second time we have stayed here and we love it
- David (10/5): Quick comfortable place - Just a quick stay to rest in the middle of a long ride home to Las Vegas.
- Sahmeah (6/5): - Although this was a cheap place to stay, it was very unkept. It could def use a remodel and someone to pickup broken machinery and keep them out of the walkways. We were happy to have found a place to stay within our budget but we were ready to go a first light due to the surroundings and conditions.
- greg (6/5): Older motel - Not the best end of town for security - a little noisy from next door and upstairs clients. Acceptable overnite accommodations at a decent price
- Akenese (10/5): - I love our stay there from check in and throughout. Mill was awesome and very friendly gentleman checking us in. I love our whole stay 💓
- Tiffany (10/5): - Heater didn't work very well but overall it was a nice size room with a full kitchen separated by its own door as well as the bathroom.
- Tiffany (10/5): - It was alright. The heater didn't work at all so it was extremely cold inside the room and they could have given a discount due to the issue.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Very comfortable - Front desk clerk was very friendly and process was very smooth . Only thing I would say is there needs to be carpet cleaning and TV box needs to be fixed as no channels were coming in.
- James (2/5): - Property is awful. Although we paid, did not stay
- Christina (2/5): - My husband and I pulled up to the Star Dust which looked like a dump from the outside and there were sketchy people outside smoking, so we ended up staying somewhere else. I called for a refund but the front office person barely spoke English, so Expedia helped me in contacting the hotel for a refund. Don’t waste your money. They’re plenty of other local hotels to stay at in much better condition for almost the same price.
- Bryan (10/5): Will consider this hotel again. - Short but nice experience.
- Javier (8/5): low budget, clean and all the basics - low budget and really clean really good for the price no bed bugs or any bad experience. the only suggestion I would have is try to ask a room far from street. (due noisy cars)
- Roland (8/5): - Quiet place
- iris (8/5): The room served us well for an overnighter - We stayed overnight on our trip to LA. The check-in and service was fine. The room was clean, no frills, and comfortable. The area around the hotel is run down, but so is much of Barstow unfortunately. The parking lot was clean and well lighted at nigh. The hotel area was quiet at night. The room had a coffeemaker, a fridge, and a microwave.
- James (8/5): - Nice room good location
