Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (8/5): Economical stay in Tucson - The stay was good, but I would recommend that the doorbell by the office be repaired. When I arrived, I ended up calling since the office was dark and it appeared the doorbell did not work.
There are upgrades that could be made to the room's ceiling, outlets (the only place I could plug in laptop was by the bathroom sink), etc. but overall it was an economical, comfortable stay.
It appears that many of the people that stay there are long-term residents as opposed to travelers.
- Edward (10/5): - A vintage no-frills motor hotel. The rooms are quiet because the walls between them are brick, not wallboard. Our room was clean. The manager was accommodating and friendly. If you'd rather not pay hundreds for a "Free" breakfast and a Keurig in every room, this is your place. We'll definitely stay there again if we travel to Tucson again.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Went to check in and I was informed that I had to pay a $100 CASH ONLY deposit. This is complete BS. If llI was informed of this, I never would have booked the reservation for this piece of crap property.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Not a getaway location... - Checked in Monday evening. Met by manager in parking lot as I pulled in. Showed me the room which was so-so (I only needed a place to rest my head after a 6 hr motorcycle ride) Went back to the office and told me "$20 cash key deposit, check out 9AM" The room was just OK: Room itself was "clean" (no dirt), bathroom so-so: toilet and sink worked but don't use the shower- ceiling looks moldy. Kitchen: fridge worked, microwave also but had cockroaches running around inside... I dont open the bed anymore, I bring my own bedding cover. but the bed was firm...
- Lolanda (10/5): - Service was quick. Property was clean, quiet, and owners were very kind.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The attendant did not honor my valid Expedia reservation. He claimed he didn't have it.... he wanted $70 for the room and so I walked away. He obviously using the app to squeeze extra money from unsuspecting people.
- RCMoeur (6/5): - Clean but rough around the edges (paint on walls doesn't match), older furnishings, new big flat screen TV, music from venue next door can be easily heard in room (bad was good, but I needed sleep). Other than the band, it suited my modest needs satisfactorily, but may not be for those who want something fancier.
- RCMoeur (6/5): Clean, basic, convenient - Basic rooms - clean, reasonably spacious, but the furnishings are "experienced" and the paint on the walls may not always match. But the room did have a big flat screen TV. Big parking spots - good for larger vehicles. One problem for early sleepers: the band next door in the motel converted into a mercado can easily be heard in the room until they stop playing, which can be as late as 11 PM. Fortunately, the band was talented - alas, I had to get up at 3 AM. One comment: I stayed 3 night, but received no housekeeping the entire time. Wasn't a huge issue for me as the room was clean when I arrived, but could be an issue for others. Other than the uninvited music, it was entirely suitable for my modest needs at the time.
- Krssy (2/5): - They wouldn't let get the room after I paid for it
- Verified traveler (2/5): 2230 is too late - I couldn't check in and stay there because they were closed.
- Verified traveler (2/5): If i had realized location would of never booked - Didn't get to stay wouldn't let me check in until my boyfriend got off to give id. Wants $50 in cash for a room key. And this hotel is located in the hourly area of town
- Robert (2/5): - When arriving was told they didnt have a room even tho i had confirmation for a room then when contacted by agent they told them reservation wasnt honored because of the amount of people which was just me and one other person. And when contacted by agent they arent anwering.
- Rick (2/5): Stay away - The cockroach hotel big cockroaches everywhere, pictures on the web are from when it was new 200 years ago, total dump wouldn't stay there again for free, we left a day early could sleep there another night and once you check in no refunds or we would of left right away, aweful
- Verified traveler (6/5): Not the best - Owner was helpful but very stern when expressing thinga he didnt want done at his hotel (almost to the point of insinnuating that we may be a certain type of people he has trouble with) other then that the rooms are old and very out dated. Rented us a room with two bedrooms and made sure we knew to not use other room for any reason. And although he knew there was no hot water to the room he didnt offer any kind of refund for the inconvenience.
- Christopher (2/5): OSHA violation Museum - I travel extensively for business I stay in a lot of different types of hotels this was by far the worst hotel I attempted to stay in. The owner operator on duty was the rudest person I've ever dealt with in the service industry. The conditions at the property should be reported to OSHA it is a complete an utter failure at the hospitality business. In fact I'm glad I got this email cuz it reminded me I'm going to contact local code enforcement to pay a visit. There was Bob wire wrapped around the bench in front of the check in office that I nearly cut myself on and when I asked about it the manager said they put it there so homeless people don't sleep on it disgusting
- Kennie (4/5): You get what you pay for - Here’s the thing. You want a clean, comfortable bed, a toilet, and a shower? They got it. You want anything else? Not so much. The pictures on the website are from at least 20 years ago. The rooms are run down, the strip club down the street is par for the neighborhood, and at least the bar stops playing live music by 11 on Friday night. The kitchen is a disaster area and there’s a sheet over the couch. Towels are threadbare and the soap is a sliver. The sheets have holes in them. The carpets are stained and the door has a toy lock.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Business - SUCKED DONT STAY THERE
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice stay - It was fine for the price.
- veronica (2/5): Horrible! Horrible! Horrible - When we arrived the manager refused to have us in the office, made us go check out the room so that we could “inspect “ it. He asked if everything was OK and honestly from just a quick glance, in the very dim light, it did look fine. That is until after we checked in, which was a nightmare. First of all he said we had to pay a $20 cash deposit in order to get the key. We had to scramble to come up with cash. Then he said that we didn’t have to stay there and he wouldn’t give us our money back. Finally got the key finally got into our room and after having settled in my husband went to the bathroom, and there was a cockroach sitting on top of the trashcan. We found another one in the kitchen and another one in the living area of the room that we were in. Will not ever stay there again! And the manager was very very rude on top of it. Room smelled of smoke, and we were told it was a non-smoking room! Bed was super squeaky, pillows were flat, sheets were itchy. Floor which was tile, felt very gritty like it hadn’t been swept in a while. There was mold all over the top of the shower, and the shower curtain was cut in half, outdated plug-ins. There was a sheet thrown over the old couch, towels were almost nonexistent one bath towel and one washcloth and a little square of a towel for a bathmat… But there was two of us! No soap no toiletries. I can’t believe that hotels.com lets this hotel be on their site.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Very rude and obnoxious Hotel manager. The day I was leaving he was standing right by my door as I was moving my stuff into my car. Then he was keep telling me that he was going to hold my deposit money because I didn't get out of the hotel before 10 a.m. . I explained that the stuff I was putting in my car have to go a certain way I might be a few minutes later than 10 a.m. but that's still earlier then the standard check out time of most hotels which is 11 a.m. .
- Sa (2/5): - Not clean at all. very old and smells bad....... I do not recommend it for anybody
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Large room for the price. It had cable TV in a refrigerator.
- Samuel (2/5): Bait and switch/ false advertisement - This is a bait and switch situation. I will be in contact with hotels. com verbally to discuss the matters
- Donna (2/5): - There was a cocroach in shower . one ac unit that didnt cool place down . management was rude
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The hotel served its purpose of a 2 stars where to spend the night at the price.
Room was non smoking but had a residual stench which I had to use an air freshener to clear.
Bed is good but beddings are uncomfortably old.
There was and old seat and footrest unclean covered with old white tissue which were better not kept in there if they can't be replaced.
I checked carefully and found NO signs of bugs.
Facility is quiet and looks safe.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Reception, Found him in parking lot.
Comfortable bed a plus
One small bar of soap, No bath mat.
Good TV, comfortable chairs, although covered with sheet.
No night lock on Door. $10.00 deposit on key, returned.
Security latch on door missing.
- Tristan (4/5): Worst ever - We booked online and paid online for there and he refused to rent to us for absolutely no reason.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The rooms floor plan was nice. However the discrimination and getting yelled at up on arrival kinda ruined everything else. The owner assumed that because I selected two people and I was alone ( and female in a bad area) that I was going to have male suitors through out my stay.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Service was terrible no change towels or sheets never go there again
- Jessica (8/5): - It was a good stay..other then the few spots on the ceiling that need to be fixed.
- Dylan (2/5): - This place sucks. Everything is sticky, and the staff is weird.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Dirty.. Shady.. Slept with knife.. feels haunted. - Dirty.. Shady.. Slept with knife.. feels haunted... Great for a creepy Halloween or horror film.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Clean The Rugs - The rugs could use some serious shampooing & not having to have a whole conversation about why i needed more then one set of towels for my wife & I.. Maybe some soap in the room would have been nice as well. Other then that our overall stay was pleasent..
- Verified traveler (8/5): You get what you pay for - This motel is a bit rundown, but kept very clean. Big room, easy highway access. The price is right.
- Jacarah (2/5): No id for the second guest service refused - Lost my 62.00 the manager refused service because second guest didn't have I'd.i was very upset. It never asked for the 2nd guest info. Very upset with hotels n hotwire .
- Pierre (2/5): Horrible el lugar - Horrible el lugar, sucio en todos los aspectos, quise subir fotos pero la aplicación no me lo permitió.
- Priscilla (8/5): Just enough. - Comfy beds, owner asked for a cash deposit which is not originally stated when booking online. The room isn't the best however the size was more than enough to fit a family of 4.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - It was HORRIBLE!! I can’t think of a single redeeming quality. It should only be booked by the hour. That’s how I it was used anyway.
Netheid was overheersend.
Voor een gewenningsproces was mijn veerblijfperiode te kort.
Mensen waren aardig en hulpvaardig.
- Merritt (8/5): Diamond in the Rough - The exterior looked a little run down; however, the room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Nice tv. Bring your own toiletries inasmuch as the motel only provides soap.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great location, very central, near the mall & food. A bit noisy during rush hour. Nice big room with full kitchen (no cookware & utensil). New & firm beds. Have been repainted (but poorly done). Shower is a bit small & dark. For the price, it can't be beat.
- Matt (2/5): - Terrible service. Horrible attitude. Ruined my day. Do not stay here. I hope they never have a guest again.
- Alex (6/5): - A dingy room was good enoug for a refuge on a busy night in town, otherwise I would never stay there
- Rene (2/5): - Call in to Expedia and explain what happened. Was refused room. Was treated abhorrently.
- Barbara (2/5): Ick - Wow...this had to have been a hotel for hookers. Bed was sagging so badly it almost reached the floor. Soap in sink was USED. BUGS. ICK
- scott (6/5): - for the price you got what you paid for overall not bad if you are looking just for a place to spend the night.
- Mark (4/5): - Manager was rude and very unhelpful. When i asked to rebook the room almost 24 hours before check out he said he had no rooms available and i called a few minutes later and didnt give my name and he said he had plenty of rooms. Mind you i didnt even stay there my room was empty with no occupancy the whole time of my reservation.
- Jess (8/5): - This stay was pleasant and did the job.
If you’re looking for simplicity and a quiet place to rest while in Tucson, Riviera is the one.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Nothing is good about it it smell like a senior living facility
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Location was marginal and repairs to properly was still going on. I think it will improve once they are finished.
- Lindsay (6/5): on the cheap - just need to stay within a budget, has all the basics.
