- Fabio (10/5): Wir verbrachten zwei angenehme Nächte in einer Oase der Ruhe in diesem schönen Schlösschen, es war rundum perfekt. - Es liegt wunderschön im Zentrum von Bernau, gepflegter Garten, sehr sauber, top ausgestattete Ferienwohnung und sehr freundliche Menschen. Auch für unsere Kinder war alles da (Babybett, Windeleimer, Hochstuhl), wir kommen gerne wieder!

We stayed in comfortable apartment with all-you-need facilities. Fresh bread every morning and sauna every evening. Friendly owners were always supportive and flexible. Thanks a lot for your hospitality! everything was good, even dishwasher capsules were provided :) maybe we'd be little bit more happy if we find an olive oil for cooking, we didn't prepare well for only 2 day stay

- Katharina (10/5): Ferienwohnung der Extraklasse - Bereits die Anfahrt durch den Torbogen mit Blick auf das Schloss und die sehr gepflegte Parkanlage ist traumhaft. Wir hatten Zimmer 10, das sehr großräumig, schick und sehr gepflegt ist. Der Blick von der Terrasse in die Bergwelt einfach schön. Kühlschrank war durch Vorbestellung gefüllt und der tägliche Brötchenservice klasse. Die Massage am Regentag war sehr wohltuend und entspannend. Familie Stolz sind sehr nette und aufmerksame Gastgeber. Besser geht es einfach nicht!

The apartment is very comfortable, with modern equipment. Everything is designed with excellent taste, in royal style and the highest quality. Wonderful sauna downstairs. Fresh bread in the morning. Every day feels like in fairy tale. Very impressive and inspiring. I’m very thankful to the hosts. Liked everything

- Monika (6/5): Spacious apartment close to the Chiemsee - The location was great for excursions to the Chiemsee. The apartment was nice ce and spacious. The furniture was new but kind of dated. Weird lights you couldn't turn off. Service was just ok. We were not asked about any wellness options (maybe because we were the only guests). Breakfast service was not offered.

The hotel it self is old but cozy and meet the outlines of the hotel and place where it is located. Breakfast food was fresh and prepared very well and terrace was great place to eat. Quiet place. Parking is available and free.
- NYRickWeber (10/5): Quaint - Quiet - Boutique Hotel - When I first walked into my room, it felt like I was walking into someone's bedroom. It's very comfortable. The bathrooms are updated and very clean! The staff speak a little English, we spoke a little German, BUT . . . They took GREAT care of us. The breakfast is amazing and if you leave hungry, that's your fault. They really go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable and right at home. I would totally stay here again!
- London69 (4/5): Beautiful outside - horrible inside - The building itself from the outside is very beautiful - it really looks very special. And, it has a very nice garden. However, once you step inside it all changes. Very basic and old fashioned reception area. Our room overlooked the car park / entrance ramp to the hotel and it was so old fashioned. The décor was horrendous – very kitsch and dated. Very basic bathroom with small shower. Only one pump of body gel stuck to the wall. On the second day, our room hadn’t been cleaned / no fresh towels / bed not made – even though we told the cleaning staff we were out for the whole day. We told the man on reception who didn’t seem at all bothered. He just said. “I told them to do it”. In the end he cleaned the room himself – but, he was not friendly and obviously didn’t want to do it himself. At check out, he didn’t even say thank you or goodbye. We read so many complaints about the breakfast that we didn’t bother to eat here. There are plenty of villages close by with places to eat. Overall – OK location, beautiful building from the outside, rooms not cleaned and staff not so friendly.
- Janice51 (8/5): Second time here - Hotel offers a nice stop and reasonable price for two including breakfast. I don't think the amenities were the same but it has been a couple of years. They charge for a bottle of water they leave in the room and they don't offer traditional soap, shampoos, etc., but I guess that is how price is lowered. They have one large bottle attached to wall near sink and another in tub enclosure. Breakfast was a bit sparse but they were busy, so maybe just weren't able to get things replenished as quickly...maybe they need another staff person. They were very kind to make a dinner booking for us on request, so did appreciate that and they do offer free parking and wifi.
- Dajtrav (10/5): A gem. - We booked 3 nights here at the end of our holiday primarily as a stop-over on our rail journey home from Austria. However, it became one of the highlights of the trip. The hotel is a gem. The building itself is stunning in appearance and history, and our room (on the upper floor overlooking the gardens) was spacious, elegantly furnished, clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful, with a good variety on offer (including some excellent bread!), and to be able to eat on the patio was a treat. However, what makes this hotel really special is the staff – it is family-owned and run, and this shows in the attention shown to guests and their needs: any ‘tourist’ questions we had were fully answered, and we really appreciated their arranging of bike hire for us (with bikes delivered for us to the hotel). The hotel does not offer evening meals, but we ate next door at their Gasthof, which had a very pleasant ‘buzz’ from a large and local clientele. Bernau is itself a very pleasant place to stay: we visited Herrenchiemsee (with its quite spectacular Schloss), cycled round the lake (60km, but plenty of refreshment stops) – and were able to listen to the local band playing in the Park one evening! We would certainly stay at this hotel again.
- Samstap (8/5): Charming property - We chose a hotel over a gasthaus for this trip to Chiemsee, and although there wasn't much difference in service or accommodations, we're glad we picked Hotel Bonnschlössl. The building was very cool and the grounds were peaceful. The staff (family members, I believe) were extremely nice and helpful. Breakfast was great (I've never been offered eggs cooked to order before) but is charged in addition to the room. If you're not taking full advantage of it (for example, only having coffee) you might want to pass. Our room was extremely large with lots of space to spread out. There's no restaurant for dinner, but there's a gasthaus a few steps away and other dining options close by. Definitely recommend!
- bronwenb388 (6/5): Not bad... - I must start by saying the staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a lovely area and has pretty grounds however it is a fair distance to the attractions in town. The room was lovely and large but it is decorated with old style furniture and the bed was extremely squeaky and woke you up every time you turned over. If you enjoy TV then you his is not the hotel for you as the screen is smaller than 30cm and situated a fair distance away from the bed. I can recommend the sauna and steam bath - both of which are free of charge. Breakfast was a little disappointing as we arrived early due to our departure. However I still expect fresh rolls! Terrible wifi though!!!

Very clean and has everything that you need. It's gorgeous there in summer according to the pictures. We were there in December.
- waynem592 (10/5): Best Hotel in Bavaria - We concluded our European vacation with a week's stay at the Bonnschloessl. Best, most relaxing stay ever. As Americans tourists we used the hotel as a hub to travel and explore Bavaria. From the moment we arrived the hospitality and service exceeded our best expectations. Hands on, personal touch from the proprietors, The Stolz family, differentiate the experience from other, run of the mill, lodging choices. Loved, loved, loved our stay, we are trying to get back. 10 out of 10! The Millers, Florida, USA
- richardanderson854 (6/5): WEDDING CAKE CASTLE IN SUPERB SPA GROUNDS! - We thought that the exterior of the hotel was outstanding--like a mini version of Versailles, with superb lawns and spa park attached. The car park was spacious and adjacent to the entrance to the park and hotel. The check-in was the easiest ever and we soon found ourselves being guided to our room adjacent to the kitchen and small breakfast room. We were very pleased that there were separate beds and that the bathroom was large, brightly lit and contained a large mirror. However, the furniture and carpets were of mediocre old-fashioned quality (not traditional Bavarian either) and the TV screen very small, so that we felt that the room was a little disappointing for the price paid. The view of the park was very attractive and curtains blotted out daylight, but the overall feel was spoilt because there were three separate windows instead of one large picture one. The breakfast room was small and items could have been laid out in a more co-ordinated way, but the lady who served us was very pleasant and we were very pleased to have individual coffee pots and a morning bulletin. The Alter Wirt Gasthof seemed to be the main place to eat in the disappointingly small town of Bernau. It was a very welcoming traditional-style pub with good service and tasty, wholesome food at a reasonable price. We found the bench seats rather hard on our backs, however, as we had to sit bolt upright. Scatter cushions eased the situation a little.
- miannei (8/5): Clean and Friendly - This hotel is charming and spotless, with very helpful staff. It's within walking distance of an indoor pool and several restaurants. They also offered a place to park bicycles indoors. The only drawback was traffic noise, but asking for a room away from the nearby street would help. Be aware that the church next door rings the bells at 07:00 sharp.
- hashemTab (8/5): A 5 day stay - I spent 5 days here in March 2015 to visit a Familiy member In hospital in Chimesee. The hotel owned by a family and they all manage it. They were wonderful. The room I was given was quite small compared to some of the rooms that I have saw. The breakfast was a bit small in portions but was enough for me. The have a large parking space. The Wifi was acceptable. The location is great, especially if you want to explore Bavaria, Germany and Austria. Yes I would recommend this hotel.

- NigelN213 (8/5): Quiet hotel not far from the lake - A friendly family run small hotel only 1 km from the station and 3 km from the lake with plenty of parking. The hotel offers breakfast and had a bar service if you are relaxing in the garden. Breakfast is served in a small breakfast room or on the terrace. It was my birthday and to our great surprise a small cake with candles and Prosecco arrived at the breakfast table, what a lovely touch. The family own the guesthouse almost next door which is great for lunch, dinner or just a coffee. Otherwise the village is quite small. Most attractions are around the lake.
- rayh969 (10/5): Reinhard - My wife and I and another couple stayed 3 nights and absolutely loved our stay. It is a great property, great location and great rooms. What made it very special was Reingard, the hotels owner. He was absolutely wonderful and helped make our trip really nice. Reinhard was eveywhere, check-in, breakfast, on the ground, repairing machinery....everywhere. He is remarkably gracious, always a big smile and knows how to make a guest feel welcome. I would highly recommend a stay, you will not be disappointed.
- MickyBelfast (8/5): Quirky and quaint - We stopped off here for one night and took the suite as a family of four. It was like stepping back in time. Both outside and inside. The castle is typical Bavarian with wonderful gardens. Inside the suite had an avocado green bathroom and the bedroom was to put it nicely, traditionally decorated. However as one would expect in Bavaria it was very clean and the quirky style added to its appeal. Breakfast was in a small dining room which wasn't really big enough for the amount of guests but again it had a family feel - in fact the family were hard at work in a small kitchen adjacent to the dining room where you could hear the eggs being scrambled whilst you were tucking into your toast. There is a lovely little church close by which is worth a visit just to see the graveyard and how the Bavarians remember their dead loved ones is quite amazing. Each grave is a little work of art in itself with perfectly tended borders and planting. There's also a great Gasthof close-by which has very typical Bavarian cuisine complete with the waitresses in traditional Bavarian dress which isn't for the benefit of the tourists, they just dress that way anyway!
- OLOL (10/5): Quaint! Lovely Staff. - When booking we thought from the pictures that this Hotel was on a hill outside of the town. . However it's right in the centre of this very small town. It is in it's own grounds. It is just lovely in its own quaint way. Rooms were very big and we had beautiful views of the gardens. Breakfast was excellent and we had great weather so we were able to eat outside. We went daily to swim in the lake and we just loved it all. No restaurant but there is a lovely restaurant next door. Limited places to eat in Bernau from what we could see.
- Janice51 (10/5): What a gem! - We only stayed here one night, but it would have been great to have stayed longer! We were treated 'royally'! My sister stayed in a lovely 'corner single room' and we had a 'park view' double. Ample parking for guests, and a lovely breakfast included! Highly recommend even if it is not on your journey...make a side trip to enjoy!
