• Giles (10/5): Back to basics - I really enjoyed staying here. It is a handy location with almost instant access to the beach. You do have to go without home comforts though as there is no ac but a fan and it is open to bugs but there is a mozzy net which is sufficient. A back to basics place but at that price worth every penny
• Norbert (8/5): - Die Chalet sind aus Bambus. Sehr einzigartig und liebevoll gestaltet. Das Chalet hat zwei Räume und eine kleine Terrasse mit Hängematte: Zimmer mit einem Bett mit Moskitonetz. Und eine Ablage ausreichend für zwei Rucksäcke oder Koffer. Auspacken der Kleidung nicht möglich aus Platzgründen. Im Raum steht ein Ventilator. Ist völlig ausreichend, wir haben sehr gut geschlafen. Das Badezimmer hat alles was man braucht. Wer Luxus erwartet ist hier falsch!! Ganz toll war das Frühstück unter einem Baum im Schatten am Strand. Das Essen hat uns sehr gut geschmeckt. Die Besitzerin und das Personal waren sehr freundlich. Das einzige was uns gestört hat war jeden Morgen um 5 Uhr der Aufruf zum Morgengebet über Lautsprecher der nahe gelegenen Moschee (dazu kann der Besitzer nichts). Wir würden Rann Chalet wieder buchen.
• Andy (2/5): Shocking accomodation. Hotels should review it NOW - We booked 'Superior Queen Size Chalet'. Nothing 'Superior' about it. This accommodation was small, standing room only in the bed area, more holes in the walls to let mozzies in than a sieve, mozzie net full of holes, mattress 4" thick and full of springs and no padding. Not even a ceiling fan advertised but a decrepit desk fan. Outside on 'balcony' some seating with filthy cushions that the cat obviously sleeps on. Outside its noisy being next to a road, smelly being next to a non moving water course and the view is the back of the kitchen with hanging laundry and discarded box piles. We left after less than an hour staying only to use wifi while trying to find other accomodation which we found just up the road for a slighty higher rate including 2 pools, breakfast, nice restaurant, etc. Take this review SERIOUSLY! This is a bad place. Ignore and whinge at your leisure. We lost £158 and Hotels should be offering up compensation. Worst accomodation in 4 months of SE Asia travel.

• Grace (8/5): Enjoyed our stay - We really enjoyed our stay here. It is very basic, but exactly what we were expecting from a hut on the beach. The beach outside the front of the chalet is stunning. We would recommend mosquito repellant as there are lots, day and night. We stayed for 2 nights and this was definitely enough time! The staff were friendly and really helpful and offered lots of other services including laundry and motorbike rental.

• Verified traveler (4/5): - What we liked : Some of the staff is OK, the owner is cery nice and pleasant The food is great at the restaurant and not very pricey but still a lot for the location The village of challets is very close to the beach - literally you go out and go in the beach There is a net over the bed which helps you with the mosquitos The challets are clean-ish, you can feel the smell of fresh linens There were puppies and we could play with them What we didn’t like : the water situation is bad, cold water, toilet leaking, water leaking from the sink Mosquitos everywhere due to bathroom being moist because of the water situation in the toilet What we hated : This location is for people that prefer the wild, and have no preferences for comfort what so ever. Some of the challets have horrible beds, the mattress is horrible to sleep in The value for money is not worth it, you pay a little more and you can go to such a beatifull island like phi phi. The hotel offers trips but if you go a little further, you will find trips as cheap as 600 baht (they offer same trip with 1000). There are no toiletries like soap or shampoo. There is a bar close to the village where music is loud so you will not be able to sleep. I do NOT recommend this place if you like comfort, this is for people that want something really cheap with no comfort. Is not even quiet as during the day you will hear the cars and during the night you will hear the bar. We would not come again for sure.
• Christine (2/5): Hebergement horrible - Réservation mensongère d'une chambre de 18m2 avec balcon vue mer, dite 'supérieure' . En fait une mini hutte en bambou d'à peine 6m2 où ne pouvons ouvrir nos 2 sacs ni nous croiser. Vue sur les voisins d'en face à 3m. La route principale à 20m.qui donne l'impression de dormir sur l'autoroute. Le bar voisin avec musique jusqu'à 3h du matin. Matelas dont les ressorts rentrent dans le dos. Ventilateur poussif. Le pire hébergement de notre mois en Thaïlande pendant lequel nous avons pourtant expérimenté plusieurs huttes. Le resto sur la plage est bon et la propriétaire est plutôt sympa, mais c'est franchement le pire endroit de la plage. Il y a une multitude d'autres guest houses sur toutes les plages de l'île. Cet endroit n'a rien de paradisiaque. Nous avons quitté l'endroit en perdant 4 nuits de réservation.
• Jill Lena (8/5): Kan varmt anbefales - Ikke så stort så børn og forældre kan være der, pga pladsen - men de kom her fra nærliggende resort for både det hyggelige og fantastiske mad - ikke morgenmaden - så bestil individuelt så er det rigtig godt - skønne ejere og så dejligt - kan varmt anbefales
• Anton (8/5): Rann chalet beach side - Det var lite påfrestande hur liten den var och med själva sängen som var liten av en studsmatta på vissa ställen, på det stora hela var det härligt.
• Max (8/5): Worth it! - Definitely worth to stay at Rann Chalet considering the price. The lady who owns it is amazing! Very friendly, funny and helpful. The karaoke bar next door can be a bit annoying if you have troubles sleeping.

Although we had an enjoyable 3 days, as the chalet was virtually on the beach, the bamboo hut was very basic. However, staff were delightful, we could use their fridge and the beach restaraunts were good.
• Andy (8/5): Good location close to beach - Good location next to beach. Owner was very nice and welcoming. The Beach huts are basic but suit the purpose with everything you need for chilled stay. The only downside is noise from karaoke bar next door. But would definitely stay again. The restaurant is good and if required there are cheap eateries closeby.
• Ronen (10/5): A paradise for non-spoiled travelers - This is the first time we stay at a bungalow. At first it felt a bit small, but once you chill a bit, you realize that you're in paradise. If you're not too spoiled and looking for a place to chill, I would definitely go to there (we spent 4 nights). Ma, Rann and Pound will help you with everything you need and will make you feel at home. The bungalow itself is just 20 steps from the best beach in Lanta, and the domestic restaurant is great as well (Rann is the chef).
• Verified traveler (2/5): Inacceptable - I wish I could write something else but I saw the Bungalows and turned around to check out immediately. You could barely stand straight, the bathroom was stinky, I couldn't stand it for a single minute. Agreed with the reception lady to pay the first night, which was ok. I am sorry, Staff seemed nice from what I saw.

• Verified traveler (4/5): loud and small - it was ok, the owner was very kind and answered all our questions. what disturbed us was the loud street and the super cheap bed (you can feel the springs in your back) and the lack of light inside. Also, there is no daily room service, as is written in the description on hotels.com
• SABRINA (6/5): Excelente chef! - Nós (eu e meu marido) reservamos um quarto com ar condicionado, frigobar e vista para a praia, mas quando chegamos ao local nosso quarto já estava ocupado. A dona do local (Ma) explicou que houve um erro e nos deu um chalé inferior ao quarto que havíamos reservado. Devolveu o valor da diferenca em dinheiro e nos deu uma hora de massagem como cortesia. Apesar do ocorrido nossa hospedagem foi boa, Ma e Rann são muito atenciosos e a localização é muito boa. Rann é o chefe do restaurante e cozinha uns pratos deliciosos.
• Verified traveler (8/5): - Small family business bamboo bungalows. Super cozy and chill with hammocks and mattresses on the porch. Host family are very sweet and accommodating. I have stayed at many places in Thailand and I've never been personal with the owners in the way I was with the lady running the place - she felt like a second mother. They are also running a restaurant and bar that is a decent place to eat or drink. Right at the beach. Things to consider before booking: * Mosquitoes get in an out at will. There are a lot of them. * Can't lock bungalow while inside * No noise isolation from surroundings If you have good mosquito protection (or are one of the lucky ones who don't get bit too much) and bring earplugs you will have a way more comfortable stay. I stayed for a week and the novelty wore off after a couple of days and I started longing for more comfort and convenience. Perfect for staying a weekend or so. As clean as you would expect a budget bamboo bungalow at the beach, no more or less. WiFi was surprisingly good.

• Flore (10/5): Super chalets authentiques sur la plage - Super endroit sur la plage. Nous devions au départ n'y rester qu'une nuit et cela fait deja 3 nuits que nous y sommes. Le personnel est adorable, le chalet hyper authentique et la bar restaurant sur la plage super bon. Le seul petit bémol reste la route juste derrière qui fait du bruit: un conseil: demander un chalet le plus proche de la plage pour éviter les bruits de la route.
• Robert (10/5): Strandnahe süße Bungalows - Sehr süße kleine Bambus-Bungalows, welche eine echte alternative zu Betonwänden sind. Die Besitzerin hat einen super Service geboten und ist auf alle unsere Bedürfnisse eingegangen. Frühstück und auch sonst alles war einfach super. Natürlich sind es Bambus Bongalows ohne Klimaanlage, dass hat uns aber nicht wirklich gestört. Auch die Terras mit Hängematte war super zum relaxen nach einem langen Tauchtag.

• Jonas (10/5): Traum eines jeden Backpackers - Die Bungalows sind zwar klein aber völlig ausreichend und sehr schön gemacht. Auf der einen Seite befindet sich das bett und auf der anderen seite ist gerade genug platz um 2 backpacks unterzubekommen. Das bad ist ausreichend große und ebenfalls schön gemacht. Die Terrasse mit hängematte, weitere liegemöglichkeiten und Tisch fanden wir super. Das Personal ist einfach super und man kann hier ebenfalls sehr gut essen gehen....und das direkt am Meer. Einfach traumhaft, so das wir direkt vor ort verlängert haben

• Melody (6/5): Fun experience, but you get what you pay for - We liked the experience of staying in beach huts, however, the huts were quite small and obviously very hot without air conditioning. We also found lots of red ants in our room. The deck with the hammock was very comfortable for relaxing and the proximity to the beach was awesome!

• Zoltan (2/5): Primitive, over sized "dog house", stay away - I could not stay there at all, got there about 2.00PM, the lady showed me the place, like an over sized dog house, pictures are deceptive, the bathroom is an add-on plastic enclosure, no room for luggage, so I had to make a new reservation to a resort. Stay away from this place, do not waste any of your money.

• Senja (8/5): So nice!! - This is awesome place to stay and very nice people!! The family who owns the bungalows was really funny and helpfull for everything we need! The nature and the beach was so beautifull and the food was great! We will defenetly come back some day!
• Ove (10/5): Just ok! - The bungalows are a bit to small(the same with the doors, watch your head!).Close to the beach. It's an okay place to stay on the island, it's sheep so you get what you pay for. It's a 7/11 and a hand full other restaurantes close by.
• Verified traveler (8/5): Cute place for budget travellers - At first i wasn't really sure about this place. The rooms are small bamboo huts with a little veranda with a hammock. The bed takes up most of the interior space. However, after the first night, i started to fall in love with the charming gardens full of orchids and edible plants, and the lovely owners and their family. It's a simple place, not very luxurious, but completely charming. The price is very competitive for the area, possibly the cheapest you can find in Klong Dao directly on the beach. It was a restaurant first, and they only opened the bungalows in late 2015. The restaurant is well-known, of excellent quality, and features fresh herbs from the onsite garden. Give Rann's a chance if you're looking for a quaint place on a budget and you don't need much in the way of luxury.
• Lars (8/5): Enkelt boende med charm - Bodde två nätter här med min flickvän. Nära fina Klong Dao-stranden och restaurang Rann, med god mat och billiga fruktshakes, vilket var suveränt. Helt ok Wi-fi. Mysigt att ligga i hängmattan och chilla. Det är lyhört. Sängarna är inte jättebekväma, men priset är ju oslagbart. Vi bodde helt ok och det var mysigt men två nätter räckte för oss i denna enkla bungalow. Nu har vi testat, det var lite ballt ändå.

Muy comodas, nuevas, con baño y ducha, ideal para parejas o con amigos, para tomar una por persona y descansar. sin aire acondicionado, en invierno no hizo falta porque la temperatura de noche es buena para dormir. Restaurant sobre la playa, con musica en vivo y buena comida, el personal del hotel muy relajado y simpatico. No les pidas un tuk tuk temprano, ni desayuno antes de las 7 am. Por lo demas, todo bien
• Mel (8/5): Affordable bungalow on the beach! - We booked 2nights here through Expedia and ended up extending our stay - 5 nigHts overall. We had a relaxing time in our small bungalow and spent our days sleeping in, swimming at the beach and getting massages.

• stacey (10/5): - Great little bamboo bungalow. Super close to the beach. Porch with a hammock. Restaurant and bar right on site. Right next to tons of street food. Nice place to stay. People who work there are friendly. Would stay again, probably the nicest bamboo place I've stayed yet.

• Riki (6/5): Good for party, not for sleeping - Staff and place really nice, close to town and food which is awesome, however each night a neighbouring bar played live music till 3am, so awesome if you want to party and don't mind, but not awesome if you want to relax and have a good night sleep.
