Guest Reviews
- SEAN (10/5): An amazing time, with amazing hosts in a beautiful home. We will definitely stay here again. - The hanok was beautiful and cozy. It was a perfect experience to really feel like you were staying in Korea. The facilities were always clean, the beds were comfortable, and the hosts were absolutely amazing. The air conditioning worked like a dream during the heat wave we experienced too.
- Aniruddha Rajendra (2/5): I would not recommend staying here especially if you are more than 2 or a male. - The host is very friendly, responsive and shares great information. The location is great. I don't think the information in the booking website is accurate. There are different washrooms for male and female. Also, the male showers is in the laundry room, it is a make shift. The rooms are small and I am not sure why it says it can fit up to 4 people. I don't think more than 2 people should stay in there. The daily rate is just insane and can't be justified for this place.
- Azad (10/5): Excellent place to stay if you want be close to everything, in an excellent suburb, with wonderful hosts and unforgettab - Property owners. Kind people. Willing to help. Explaining not only the property facilities but also the local area. And having a chat when needed.
Beautiful traditional home/architecture.
Bidet toilet.
Neighbourhood vibe.
Vicinity to Gyeokbokgung Palace and subway station, Small room.
L’emplacement
L’authenticité Rien

- MuradSezer (8/5): Experience a hanok, a traditional Korean house, with a very friendly host. - The owner was incredibly kind and gave us many helpful tips and recommendations for exploring the neighborhood. The location is excellent in a quiet area, within walking distance of Gyeongbokgung Palace, markets, and public transport. There is also a great variety of restaurants, cafes, street food, and local markets nearby. The shared facilities were clean and well maintained. Our room was smaller than expected, but it worked well for a short stay. Although I usually prefer a private bathroom, it was still a good experience overall.
- Matthew (10/5): Historically rich, beautiful and a friendly host - The host was friendly and approachable, he gave me a couple of ideas on what to visit and where to go. Nothing
- Morrison (9/5): - Location was brilliant, staff very welcoming
- LCM008 (9/5): Conforto bem localizado - The hostess did everything to make our stay pleasant. The location is excellent and the facilities are very good.
- Balzhan (10/5): I had a wonderful stay! The accommodation was clean, comfortable, and exactly as described. The host was very friendly, -
- Paola Ginestra (10/5): Hanok Love - I've loved Ms Oh, she is absolutely lovely and walked me to the local market to get dinner! The single room in the yard is very cozy and the toilet it's just close to it in the same yard which is also quiet even if there are other people in the rest of the house. There's another toilet inside the house for showering. The room is also warm and the floor is heated so no problems sleeping on futon. There are several bus stops nearby and the metro station (line 3) is 10 mins walk. Thank you for the lovely experience! Maybe in the winter I'd recommend to book the rooms inside the house not to get cold during night or morning to use the toilet in the yard. But it's just a little tip.
- Joanne (9/5): Loved the hosts. Very cool and friendly. - Beautiful Nothing!
- Florence (9/5): I would recommend. - The place is nice, located in a quiet and charming neighbourhood, with a big park nearby and the possibility to climb Ingwasan. The hosts were friendly and helpful.
- SEITA (10/5): Korean local lifestyle - This guesthouse made us feel historical atmosphere of this country. Nevertheless it was very comfortable as if we stayed in our own house.
The owner is very kind and told us lot's of information!
The location is also good. It takes minutes to visit 景福宮, the restaurant street and metro station.
I'm sure you won't be disappointed in this guesthouse!
- Ryan (10/5): Best hosts, amazing location, unique experience! - Amazing traditional guesthouse with the best hosts! They made sure I was warm when it got chilly, made sure I had everything I needed (umbrella when it rained, some small snacks, tips on what to visit, insight on life in korea), and was super welcoming to make the stay comfortable. The property was cozy and inviting that made the stay feel like living in a traditional Korean household. The location is amazing, within a 15 minute walk to a subway station, some big tourist attractions within a short transit or medium walking distance, and lots of great restaurants, cafes, and local shops around the area. Would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants to experience a quieter, more local side of Seoul while still having the opportunity to do all the more touristy things!
- Hanna (10/5): - My stay at the Nuhadong Guesthouse was one of the best experiences of my trip! The accommodation is very small but because of that everything is super easy, flexible and more personal. Ms. Oh is a super host with a kind personality. I highly recommend for people to choose this as their accommodation. The neighborhood is also super nice and less crowded than main tourist areas.
- KATHERINE (10/5): Very sweet and comfortable and in a great location. - Beautiful, comfortable, great location, supportive hosts! Nothing we didn’t like.
- Julia (8/5): -
- Iris (10/5): A perfect place to start exploring Seoul! - A perfect place to start exploring Seoul!
I always always dreamt to stay in a hanok, a traditional korean house one day. And my dream came true.
It‘s so awesome, cozy und I felt like home. I love the terrace-to sit with a coffee. So so nice.
But not just the cherry on top, is Mrs Ooh, the owner and her compagnoin. They helped me in every way and are such kind people.
I got sick (cough) and they worried and offered traditionell korean medicine.
I highly recommend this beautiful, stunning place!
There are three rooms and two bathrooms for sharing. Everything is so clean and neat. I didn’t experience sleeping on the ground, cause when I was there, only the room with the bed was vacant. But this bed- for me it’s sooo cozy.
The area is so cute, lots of Cafés , markets, Street food. And it’s so quiet! Like a paradise gem in bustling Seoul. You would not think that the famous Gyeongbokgung Palace is just around the corner.
From the Airport you can go there easypeasy by bus or subway.
I wish I can come back one day!

- Charles (10/5): - The personalisation of the host and the great neighbourhood made the stay truly enjoyable. Simple facilities but cozy and local experience. I recommend the vibes and the stay.
- Michal (9/5): - Wspaniała lokalizacja i bezproblemowy kontakt z hostem. Dziękuję za miłe przyjęcie.
- Diane (10/5): It was getting colder at night and the owner made sure I had extra blanket and turned up the heat. - It was a beautiful traditional home. I loved that I could see the garden right out my door. It wasn’t in a busy area of the city. Nothing
- Hadi (10/5): Amazing service - The owner was so friendly and helpful throughout our time.
- Dewinter (10/5): -
- Madeleine (10/5): We enjoyed our stay a lot and if traveling another time to Seoul, we would definitely try to reserve this place again. - The accommodation has a lovely interior and is a restored 150 years old traditional Korean house. It’s quite near to sights such as Gyeongbokgung Palace. And the owner is really nice and gives local recommendations to restaurants and „hidden spots“ that you would otherwise never find.
- Chung-Lin (10/5): If we come back to Seoul, we'll stay at Hanok Guesthouse Nuha again. It was a magical experience. - The location of the guesthouse is wonderful. We had easy access to many restaurants, cafes, bakeries, local market, and attractions.
We stayed in the 3-room villa and it's ideal for a family. We also loved the courtyard where we could just relax and chat. we ate breakfast in the courtyard every day to enjoy the unique atmosphere of the traditional Hanok.
The owner Mr. Kim was super nice and gave us a lot of pointers and advice to explore the neighborhood. And Ms. Oh kept the place very clean and organized. Both are very warm and pleasant to talk to. The bathroom is a little cramped. Adding some more hooks for clothing and towels will be nice.
- Isobelle (10/5): -
- Jennifer (10/5): Awesome clean Hanok in a great location with a friendly and helpful host - The Hanok is really well looked after and a fun place to stay. The rooms are air conditioned and the bed was really comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you need. The property is close to lots of amazing places to eat and walking distance to the two major palaces and the subway station. The owner is kind and helpful too. I am not keen on sharing a bathroom but sometimes it is part of the experience. We would definitely stay again.
- Kaushal (8/5): - I really enjoyed my stay at the guesthouse. The guesthouse is kept get clean and gives an authentic experience into what living in a traditional Korean home would be like.
- Diego (10/5): Great location and great host - Great location , traditional and cute place and super friendly host
- Ryungson (9/5): -
- Melvenie (2/5): Mrs Ohh is amazing and a wonderful host. The location is great . For one night stay, it’s ok - The location is super. The host is very helpful and kind There were too many people staying in the house . 7 of us had to share a bathroom. You could use the other toilet as bathroom- which is outside the main house but it’s way too small. The description was unclear. It stated there was a study room in each room, but there was none . The room was so much smaller as indicated. We couldn’t sleep well as when the guests were back and switched on the lights the kitchen or toilet , the light shone into our room. The walls are paper thin, we couldn’t sleep well hear the flushing sound in our room .
- Melissa (9/5): Once in a lifetime experience to stay in a traditional hanok house. - Hanok stay felt like you were living in a K drama.
Host was fantastic, helping with directions and activity suggestions.
Quiet, tranquil setting (nice break from tourist areas).
- Zhipeng (9/5): Excellent Seoul trip stay - The hosts are super friendly. They welcomed us inside the property and introduced us the rooms and appliances, and nearby attractions. The rooms are spotless and everything is well maintained. The bathroom is a little small.
- Ben (9/5): Superb - Beautiful stay in a traditional Hanok 10 mins walk from the Gyeongbokung palace. The owners were kind to give directions and recommendations. They also checked in on me via WhatsApp. once per day to ask if I needed anything. The room I was staying in was small but really all I needed for the three night stay. I guess the price is due to the location which you cannot really beat. Overall a great experience when staying in Seoul. The shower situation was a bit strange as you had to share with others. However it didn't bother me.
No
- Mami (8/5): Very good -
- Alayna (10/5): It is a beautiful house, in a beautiful location with friendly hosts. - They were really nice and helpful. They even walked us down the street our first night and pointed out some restaurants to try.
- Michał (7/5): Good -
- Nabeel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Annabel (10/5): Exceptional - Very welcoming couple making our life easy. Really made us feel at home, delicious kimchi in the fridge and local restaurants to go to. In a really lovely area too. Would come back here on another trip to Seoul.
- Christelle (10/5): Very unique - The location, the atmosphere Nothing
- Christelle (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jessica (8/5): A really nice way to experience a traditional local family vibe in the big city - Gorgeous traditional house experience. I had my own tiny little chamber with a deck overlooking an open planted courtyard. I slept on a traditional floor mattress which I unfolded every evening. It felt very authentic!
Lovely, lovely friendly hosts who gave a brilliant first impression of the warmth and kindness of Korean people which I encountered many times over my 3 week trip. Kitchen, bathroom etc are in separate buildings (accessible via the courtyard) so there is a bit of maneuvering when you need to go to the toilet or want a glass of water - especially in the rain!
NB - this issue is only if you are staying as a single person in the tiny chamber - the other 2 rooms in the main building have kitchen and toilet easily available.
- Abbie (8/5): Very good - Our hosts were brilliant. They met us to show us in even though late at night. They offered advice and even drove us to the train station when the rain slowed taxis down. I also loved staying in a Hanok house, and the location and neighborhood were fantastic. Great coffee, food, market and places to explore a very short distance away. It was also remarkably quiet for being in the city. I don't like sharing a bathroom, but it worked pretty well.
- Caroline (9/5): Superb - Beautiful house in a gorgeous district. The hosts were lovely and made us feel right at home. They took the time to serve us tea as we got soaked by the rain and gave us tips for the best places to visit and where to eat. The standard double room is right by the living area so can be a little loud depending on the guests but the noise ends before 11pm cut off time so it's not too bad. Only worth noting if you have an early rise the next day.
- Eleanor (9/5): Very enjoyable - Great location, very comfortable bed and lovely hosts.
- Davide (8/5): Cute room in shared house - The atmosphere was great and the facilities were clean. There is a cute innter courtyard where you can sit outside. The booking information was a bit unclear, as it said entire house but in fact there are 3 rooms and we booked just one of the rooms. So there were other people in the house.

- Elizabeth (10/5): Authentically Korean with a warm hearted host - Host was really kind.
- Hyejeong (6/5): Pleasant - Location is pretty cool! We could visit many beautiful and interesting places on foot. And there are many great restaurants around as well. The neighborhood was quiet and clean. The house owner was kind and gave us tips for restaurants. The bathroom hadn’t been cleaned before our check in. For the price we paid…. it’s not acceptable. Our room was almost too tiny…
- James (9/5): Superb - A traditional house in a quiet area of a vibrant community. Little boutiques mix with traditional markets makes for a wonderful shopping experience.
No parking restrictions or ghastly traffic wardens around to ruin your day.
The charming lady of the house clearly prided herself on providing a safe and very clean environment in which to soak up Korean culture.
The first night sleeping on the floor was painful but it did get easier as the nights passed.
To be honest, and after our final night, my back has not felt as good for years.
Sitting out in the little courtyard and listening to the rain falling on the flag stones whilst sipping tea was most enjoyable. Even the warm east Asian deluge of maelstrom proportions was a remarable force of nature to admire and respect from this little courtyard. I travel to discover other ways of doing things. Not to get excited about what faults I may find.
On this occasion I can not find any faults with any the uniquely charming people I had the pleasure to meet.
