• Mark (10/5): - Unique roundhouse construction and great hosts who make your stay enjoyable, share details about the construction and are happy to give tips on the area. They won't let you leave hungry either. We reserved two side-by-side rooms for a family of four. If you find yourself in the area or perhaps taking the scenic route to/from Ottawa - this is an interesting and friendly place to visit for a night or two. We visit this area each summer and will be back.
• Diana (10/5): - Beautiful gardens surround the property. The room was tastefully decorated and very comfortable. Breakfast was homemade and delicious. Hour hosts were welcoming and friendly. A lovely bed and breakfast experience.

The room was spacious and beautiful, the property was spectacular, and the breakfast was the most delicious I've ever had. • Ai (10/5): Hidden Gem!! - The place was excellent. The hosts welcomed us very warmly and made us feel right at home. Very clean room and super comfortable kind size bed were really great. Definitely will go back there next time

• Muriel (8/5): Very scenic location - Our stay at the Gathering Place on Golden Ponds was very enjoyable. The hosts are very friendly and welcoming. The location is very scenic and the room was decorated beautifully. The reason I gave it a 4 instead of 5 is that we had to use a bathroom on a different floor so had to walk up the stairs and through their living area to get to the bathroom. However there is one located on the same floor that was in use by other guests. We enjoyed looking around at Old Hastings Mercantile and Gallery which is just down the road and is amazing.

• Shawn (8/5): Lovely historic cottage - A lovely cozy cabin type house nessled in the woods! The house is full of history and a must see for any nature loving enthusiast. The owners were very welcoming and made us feel very comfortable in their home. We ate dinner in Bancroft at the local pub! If going up in the area again, it will be on our list of places to stay again!

This is the nicest place we have stayed on our trip - too bad we were on our way home and couldn't stay longer.

The breakfast was wonderful with home made jams , toast and personal touch. The place lived up to its description “where friends become family”. We would like to visit again with family and friends. And of course one more thing. Al and Annette are talented artistes at their works of art which they have created so passionately! Thank you Al and Annette!

The host was incredibly kind and accommodating when we were running late for check in and still gave us a lovely tour so that we could settle in comfortably. The rooms are beautifully laid out and filled with thoughtful touches. Breakfast was absolutely delicious! If you are lucky enough to get to try Al's blueberry pancakes count your blessing because they are fantastic. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning in the future.
• Kathryn (10/5): A tranquil retreat in the forest - Everything was wonderful - the room and bathroom were bright, clean, and comfortably appointed. I really enjoyed looking out from the room to the beautiful garden full of wildflowers. The property itself is an absolute work of art - the house itself has a unique and noteworthy architecture and construction that was fascinating to learn about. I loved looking out from the wrap-around deck to the peaceful forest pond below and walking around the grounds, enjoying the peace and quiet of nature. I only wish it had been a clear night to see the stars! I was offered a choice of breakfast entrees, and chose an asparagus omelet, which was perfectly prepared by Al. I really enjoyed my stay and plan to return the next time I'm in the area. What a gem of a property and Annette and Al are wonderful hosts.

• Francine (10/5): We don't usually stay at a B&B - The Gathering Place was an exception to our normal overnight stays. What a surprise. The room was spotless, the bed was comfortable, my wife says, more comfortable than our bed at home, and the breakfast was delicious, coffee, juice, a bowl of fresh fruit and French toast or blueberry pancakes with real maple syrup, served by Chef AL. Annette was very charming and talented, she is a crafter, quilter, and sewer. My wife, also a professional sewer, and Annette had a good discussion. Next time we are in the area we will definitely stay with Al and Annette

The hosts were helpful and they served a delicious breakfast in the morning. A walk around the property with the host's snowshoes was delightful. We even got a call showing their concern with our travelling to their home in some poor weather conditions.

The house impeccably clean. The room was gorgeous, bed super comfy. I had a great sleep. Deliciius breakfast the next morning. I highly recommend.
