Guest Reviews
- Tyler (4/5): - One of the most uncomfortable beds I have ever slept on. No coffee machine in the room. Almost no water pressure in the shower. Not a great value for the cost.
- Scott (6/5): A classic motel - Is this the most modern place you'll stay? Nope. Are the walls paper thin? Yep. But the beds are comfortable enough and the rooms are very clean. Joy, the owner, is wonderdul to deal with as well.
- Paula (10/5): - The property was well maintained, very clean and breakfast was very good. Exceeded our expectations for the night. Owners were very welcoming as well.
- Matt (8/5): - Motel qui fait le nécessaire, les propriétaires sont très sympa.
Les chambres sont propres mais les lits pas toujours confortables.
- Tracy (8/5): - Friendly staff
- Donna (6/5): - The room was reasonably clean. But beds were awful. The mattresses (if you want to call them) were hard - like sleeping on plywood. One plastic glass in the room; and shortage of towels and 1 facecloth and mgmt was not happy to give us more.
The breakfast was good and very reasonably priced.
- Bernard (8/5): - Clean room and friendly service. The Apsley Inn breakfast special is copious an a good value.
- Walter (2/5): - Did not stay at this property because I received a Email stating that they would not be able to have guests on our date of booking due to toilet issues so booked another motel.
- Joanna (6/5): - Property is nicely renovated but bedsheets had staines and we had to request the new ones. Also you need to bring your own soap, shampoo etc, Wifi didn’t work at all. There is no any container for garbage. No cups, no kettle .But there is a mini fridge and microwave. Overall it is ok for one night stay.
- Christopher (10/5): - What a pleasant surprise this was! It has everything to expect in a typical roadside motel but the bathroom has a nice large soaker tub. Everything very clean, the AC works and the restaurant was charming with excellent homemade dishes. There is a lazy river floating by the trimmed backyard grounds.
- Elonie (10/5): - The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The restaurant serves a good breakfast at an affordable price. The property is clean and well maintained, although the running water has a slight iron smell. It’s conveniently located near lakes, making it ideal for visitors who enjoy canoeing.
- Sasikumar. (8/5): - Good person
- Steve (10/5): Great - Just a quick overnight stay. Great little spot.
Always fun to wake up and hear the lion’s call.
Great folks.
- Julien (8/5): - No beds bug!
- jenifer (10/5): - !
- Phil (10/5): - Friendly hist, good food on site. Economical stay, just what we needed.
- Jerry (10/5): - A perfect little motel for an overnight stay! We will definitely be back. The owners are amazing and helped us with anything we needed!
- Carl (6/5): - The only property we could choose nearby for our purposes. Rooms need some R&M and wiring/plugs were in poor condition. Had to ask for basics as well such as crockery and cutlery and packet coffee/tea. Has a small cafe attached for basic breakfast or lunch purchase in need.
- Brian (4/5): - Charged more than the amount quoted when booking via Expedia (discount was not applied… I was charge the whole regular rate).
Place is ok as a bed before heading out to camp early the next morning… nothing more.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The Apsley Inn and Restaurant provided exactly the accommodations we needed on our work trip in the area. The rooms were clean, and the staff on-site was extremely flexible in accommodating our off-hour check-in and check-out times as well. I would recommend this motel for people needing a place to stay locally
- Jason (10/5): - No frills accommodations. More than adequate for an overnight stay and reasonably priced.
- Laura (6/5): Ok - Ok motel. Beds were like plywood boards ( new mattresses needed asap) and the room had no where to hang a coat or even a dresser for clothes. Nice view out the back window though
- Rick (8/5): - Very accomodating staff and pur stay was quite good
- Michelle (10/5): - Friendly staff and a great breakfast option.
- John (2/5): Waterless - We arrived Friday evening and had room #2. When we woke up Saturday morning we had no water. Our toilet wouldn’t flush and the sink only dripped out red nasty muddy stuff. I went and told the owners about it and they said they will fix it. At 6:00 pm we still had no water so we just spent all day Saturday with no water. They finally moved us to another room and when we went into the other room we had water but it was also red and rusty. When we told the owners about it again they offered us a free coffeee. So basically we had no usable water for the whole weekend. We also had some weird bug crawling on the walls.
- Scott (10/5): Clean and recently renovated - Friendly, clean, recently renovated. Excellent value for money. Highly recommend.
- Edward (10/5): - It was beautiful and quiet. Food at the restaurant was great too
- Mike (10/5): - Not only were we pleasently greeted but upon arriving late they were more then accommadating with check in and also made us a meal that was brought to our room. The room was clean and comfortable. I would definately recommend this budget friendly motel !
- Mark (6/5): - Asphalt in driveway/parking lot in front of rooms is uneven. Be careful when parking motorcycles - mine fell over when moving it.
Room was adequate with no extras. Only 2 pillows and one was 2" thick. No desk or space to place anything. No bottled water or coffee maker. No pen or paper. ONE light in the room so it was dim.
Restaurant was ok - breakfast potatoes are the frozen variety. Nothing special but price was good.
Staff are new to the area and don't know of any attractions or history of the motel. I asked if there was previously a gas station on site, and the woman started telling me where the nearest gas station was.
You get way you pay for.
- Kevin (10/5): - Excellent staff
- Dan (10/5): - Exceeded expectations. Great value. Nice accommodating staff. Boat parking and they allowed me to plug in to charge it.
- tim (2/5): - Dirty
- Gail (2/5): - bed wasn't made upon arrival, bathroom was filthy. no converter for television
- Kurian (6/5): - it was supposed to be two queen size beds for both rooms, but when we got there, we only got one room with one queen and a single and the other room with just one queen bed.
The staff is really nice.. understand they had a busy weekend, but they should not advertise two queen-size beds if that is not available
- Sarah (10/5): - Simple and includes everything you need! Great place for breakfast too.
- Sarah (10/5): - Very convenient
- VALERIE (6/5): - Pros - cheap, clean room, very friendly check-in, a/c & fridge worked
Cons - Tiny, shabby room. The booking said 2 queen beds, but had a twin and a queen with very basic mattresses. The door lock didn't seem secure, and there was no latch on the large bathroom window.
- Hgp (2/5): - The lady the owner talks to the guests as we were pieces of garbage no service at all
Reason why all other rooms were empty
Will never return even if it was a free stay
- Andrea (2/5): - Too much furniture crammed into a too-small room; barely any room to move or put things down. Dead bugs all over the place. Sign says ‘under new management’ and it looks like they’re trying to freshen things up (new-looking bathroom tile, etc.) and I hope they continue to do so (including a deep-clean of windows) because it’s not worth nearly the money charged as it is currently. We were hoping to enjoy it, but will not be back.
- Jeffrey (6/5): - This is a typical mom-and-pop highway motel, constructed decades ago. Facilities are basic: bed, bathroom, TV, microwave, bar fridge and a few pieces of furniture. It has clearly seen better days. The current owners took over only a few months ago, so they can't be faulted for any of the deficiencies. The restaurant serves a basic menu. Breakfast was good.
Keep your expectations modest if you book a stay here.
- Jean (10/5): - We had previously used this facility, and did not hesitate to go back.
- Ross (8/5): ross's review - basically ok, but no a/c
rooms were recently renovated.
