- Keeley (10/5): A very memorable trip, would recommend to anyone - Rooms, pool, view, on site spa/gym and staff were all top quality. Special mention to Hendra & Ris who made our stay very personalised and memorable. Would definitely stay again. Both times we dined in the restaurant service was very slow although when we ordered in room dining it was quite prompt.

Views and enclosed airconditioned day room were highlights. Construction work next door (pretty much an issue all over Bali) - albeit staff managed it well but check your room is away from construction. Restaurant can do with more fans as was very hot in morning.

- Kim (3/5): Beautiful design, but poor maintenance and a transactional, upsell-focused experience that didn’t match the luxury price - The villa is beautifully designed and the setting has a lot of potential. The transfer driver was genuinely amazing — friendly, professional, and the best part of the experience. This didn’t feel like luxury hospitality—more like luxury pricing. For the most expensive place we stayed in Bali, the upkeep and service were disappointing. The villa wasn’t well maintained (mouldy/cracked kitchen cupboards, and a skew lounge lamp that wasn’t fixed even after we asked). Sleep was a problem: blackout curtains had a large gap, the blind was very thin, and garden lights stayed on all night (we couldn’t switch them off, and staff only turned them off some nights). The kitchen was baffling — cooking facilities are provided but there were no plates or bowls, no dish towel, no chopping board, and not a single proper cutting knife. Basics also weren’t handled: teas weren’t replenished and no milk was provided for coffees. Check-in felt transactional and sales-focused: we had to pay a nightly holding charge for room service we never used (refunded only after 7 working days), and we were made to pay transfers before even checking in. After arrival, we were shown the spa/restaurant to upsell, but weren’t proactively told key guest info like Wi-Fi or towels — we had to ask for everything. They misplaced one of our bags and didn’t properly look until we asked again. Laundry took almost 4 days to return. We had to ask twice for hangers so we couldn’t unpack properly on night one. Netflix wasn’t connected, the doorbell didn’t work, and there was no door stopper so the front door couldn’t be kept open. Food and beverage pricing felt extreme — the beers were the most expensive we’ve encountered anywhere in Bali. It’s hard to believe this property has won awards, based on our experience, and the manager came across as arrogant rather than guest-focused.

Enough crockery & cutlery in the villa for all guests . Spa was nice boutique feel with good therapist For older people or people with lower limb issues it could pose a problem because of the steps to & from the villa

- Marcin (1/5): Better avoid - Spacious villa, nice design. I booked this hotel expecting a relaxing getaway, as it was advertised as a “paradise on earth.” Unfortunately, the reality was far from what was promised. Upon arrival, we were shocked to find major construction directly in front of the hotel. The noise was constant, workers were staring at guests, and there was no sense of privacy or peace. The view — one of the main reasons we chose this place — was completely ruined. None of this was disclosed at the time of booking, and the photos online are misleading. When we raised our concerns, management acknowledged the situation and promised us a 20% discount as compensation. Despite multiple follow-ups over more than two months, this credit was never applied to our account, nor was any money transfer made as promised. Each time, we were told it would be resolved, but nothing ever happened. It’s extremely disappointing, especially given that the owner is a Swiss national and a well-known name in the hospitality industry in APAC — one would expect far higher standards of transparency, service, and integrity. Sadly, this experience felt dishonest and disrespectful to paying guests. I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone looking for the relaxing, high-quality experience it claims to offer.

La nourriture est délicieuse et le choix du vin est exceptionnel. Le directeur de l’hôtel est français donc vous ne trouverez pas d’aussi bons vins dans la région que dans cet hôtel. Enfin le personnel c’est incroyable la gentillesse. Risma anticipait mes réservations et mes besoins tellement elle connaissait mon programme. Non vraiment superbe hôtel. - Negedet (1/5): Beware: Misleading Service and Noisy Environment - None I’ve never left a hotel early in my life until this experience. I checked in only to discover loud, ongoing construction right next door. The noise was constant, making it impossible to relax. Even worse, the construction workers had a direct view into the villa, leaving absolutely no privacy, especially uncomfortable considering the outdoor shower. I ended up leaving after the second night because the situation was unacceptable. The hotel acknowledged the issue and assured me I would be refunded for the unused nights. But despite their promise, I still haven’t received anything. I’ve followed up several times with no resolution. Really disappointing experience. Zero privacy, constant noise, and broken promises. I would not recommend staying here until the construction is over and the hotel learns to stand by its word.

- Brian (4/5): Great staff, but property could be better - The F and B staff were exceptional. Overall the property and rooms were clean. Property under SLH part of the Hilton Brand but many may be disappointed if they expecting a Hilton Standard as the property was not on this level. Basics were missing like working WiFi in our room. No TV Cable basically YouTube or Netflix on your own account. Arrived and shampoo/soap containers not full. Thin structure that was great for views became minimal noise barriers at night as we were woken in the middle of the night with a loud group jumping into the pool on one of the nights / fireworks woke us up the another night. On arrival to the hotel we could not get driven to the lobby as a water truck blocked the road so we walked up the hill with our bags. Their pool view of Bali was in the process of being blocked by new construction across the road. Upon checkout presented with a stack of breakfast bills ( which in fairness was addressed by the team) with an unclear breakfast policy. I understand the property may be new to SLH or Hilton and hopefully some of these are tightened in the future. Again the staff were lovely but i would expect a bit better from a property under SLH/Hilton at this level.

The use of a WhatsApp group for us to individually communicate with the staff was extremely effective, ensuring that all requests were promptly dealt with. The rooms were comfortable and spacious with an excellent view from the hills to the sea. There is a lot of building and development going on in Bali and the land neighbouring Hidden Hills was being built on while we stayed (July 2025). There was unavoidable noise as a result an the site workers could see into our garden and pool area.

- Ann (10/5): - We loved our stay at Hidden Hills Villas, our room was beautiful and spacious, we loved the privacy of our own sun lounges, garden and pool. The sunsets from our villa (Santorini) rivalled other locations in Uluwatu, the best thing being that we had the view completely to ourselves to enjoy. We specifically look for smaller, boutique hotels as we feel comfortable with fewer people, and have better experiences with being welcomed by the staff as friends. The staff at Hidden Villas truly were amazing, and we left feeling like family members. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by our names, and the smiles were consistently spontaneous. There are too many to single out as everyone from all roles contributed to our overall customer experience. We appreciated all the staff. Unfortunately the building noise from the construction site is real, please take this into account if considering to stay. It is not the fault of Hidden Hills Villas and they can’t control the building work. For us though, the wonderful experience outweighed the annoyance of the noise.
- Naz (8/5): Beautiful hotel with amazing views and staff. - One of the finest properties we stayed in Bali. The staff are so nice and friendly! Loved their service and hospitality. We had the ocean view villa which had great views and amazing balcony/garden. The location is great too although a lot of construction is going on around and it’s not on the main road. Their food is really nice. They make communication very easy by having WhatsApp group chats. Almost in central Uluwatu, easy to get cabs and bikes. The room was amazing! So spacious and comfortable. The bathrooms are beautiful too! Would definitely recommend this for anyone looking for a great hotel in Uluwatu. They even left us notes and small details were taken care of everyday. A lot of stairs going to the rooms and the hotel. No lifts. Lizards and insects around but that’s ok.

- Bronwyn (8/5): Relaxing! - The location was magnificent, staff incredibly helpful. There is a sommelier onsite and wonderful, extensive wine choices available. Villa was amazing, spacious, all 3 bedrooms had separate bathrooms with a private pool. Restaurant very upmarket, good menu. Breakfast could be taken in the restaurant or delivered to the Villa, at no extra cost. Hidden Hills Villas would have received an 11/10 except unfortunately, beyond their control, there was construction work across the lane. Which was seven days a week, early in the morning and occasionally into the night time. There are many stairs to both accommodation and restaurant, with no railings.

- Alvin (10/5): Truly a hidden gem, a force to be reckoned with. - The staff, each and every one of them, were amazing! Too many people to name because I honestly interacted with them all lol. Their hospitality is what really made it hard to want to leave the villa and go explore the Uluwatu. The villa, Santorini, was breathtaking. Not a fault on the property, just my personal preference. I’m not used to using bathrooms outside and out in the open. I was a buffet for the mosquitos.

- Alex (3/5): Not worth the traffic to Uluwatu. Pity as the hotel is beautiful. And the staff very kind and accommodating. - Rooms were very nice. Swimming pool was tiny. Open to non hotel guests who dine at the restaurant. No space for hotel guests to dip in the pool on a sweltering afternoon due to the outside loud visitors occupying the pool all afternoon till sunset. Problem is even the room where we had to restrict to was exposed to their noise coming from the pool which we could not access comfortably. The swimming pool is closed from 5:30 at golden light hour in order to lay out dinner tables. No chance of order aperitifs by the pool at sunset. Suggest for the dinner set up to be done an hour later. Guests who wish to dine at 5:30pm may do so in the actual terrace. Food was not good. Local food was even worse. Breakfast waffles were inedible, when exchanged for eggs, it took 30 minutes and burnt eggs were served. Kitchen is obviously struggling. There weren’t many diners to boot. 5 guests in total. Breakfast took 1hr and 45 minutes and we did not neither waffle nor eggs. WiFi extremely unstable. Sorry! Small yes, luxurious no.

They agreed to upgrade us the following night but had no rooms available the same day. We spent the first night in the Santorini villa and got bed bugs. They really never addressed the issue, wasn’t offered a credit or apology. The facilities were meek to slim- the gym had a musty smell and not much on property overall. Not worth the $$

The construction is pretty much 24/7 throughout the day and the new building blocks part of the view

- Romana (7/5): Didn’t meet our expectations - The st tropez villa was beautiful. The bathroom was slightly al fresco. Beautifully made. Felt a little chlostrophobic. It was a narrow resort. The pool is not inviting. The breakfast is not included and is not worth the price.
- Orlagh (8/5): Overall I can only say I saw my room and the pool area. There’s nothing else to see. I have no idea where the gym or spa - The staff were all so friendly. We stayed in a studio villa Tulum . It was a beautiful room For what we paid I don’t think it was really worth it when I compared prices to other places. There was just the 2 of us, I think if you were a bigger group and had a villa it would be perfect. There was never anyone around that communal pool and when we came home in the evenings it was closed at 17:30. So basically we just used our room to sleep. The room was beautiful, but there was no bath which coming from Ubud and Seminyak it was a disappointment. We are in one night and it was very nice but again no atmosphere , just 2 and 2 others. We went out for breakfast every morning. I felt because we didn’t have a villa we were less important.

- Frank (10/5): Dreamy villa perched on Uluwatu's hills - The location is great, and it is closed to many restaurants, bars, and beaches. The villa was large, well maintained, and immaculate, thumbs up to the housekeeping team! The decoration is lovely, and the mattress is so comfy. The main highlight is the team. They are all genuinely friendly and professional and went the extra mile to make my stay a perfect one. I will definitely come back with my family soon.

They provided me local recommendations and reservations in advance of my arrival. Location was very convenient, 15 min ride from all of the beaches and restaurants I wanted to visit. The staff were so attentive I almost felt bad! But nothing I would change the stay was absolutely perfect

Construction works happening nearby and only told the day of arrival. So many pictures of villas with pools and baths yet for the price I paid it wasn’t included. Expensive cocktails at the hidden gem restaurant. In short - not worth the amount paid and would not recommend to anyone sadly. Good staff but the place itself is very poorly done such a shame and feels like a waste of money.
- Isabelle (10/5): A flawless stay in an oasis-like property - First impressions are everything, and the team that welcomed us set the bar high, setting the tone for every interaction that followed with every wonderful member of staff we encountered during our stay. You can tell that a lot of passion and care has gone into the property and its offerings by its owner. Everything has been carefully considered, and there is nothing cookie-cutter about any aspect of the property. Even Hidden Villas' 'entry level' room was heaven, with a ginormous and exceptionally comfortable bed and a glass-walled shower that looked out onto a lovely slice of private garden. It felt extremely secluded, peaceful and relaxing. Food was also great - we had breakfast, lunch and dinner, but the star of the show has to be the excellent and extensive wine list, with bottles from all over the world - a substantial number of which are available by the glass. That we stayed only one night! I stay at a lot of hotels, and this is truly one that I'd love to come back to.

- Nicola (9/5): Lovely and relaxing. - The 3 bed villa was beautiful. We had an issue with the aircon in one room but it got fixed immediately. The staff were amazing, and the level of service was so good. The what’s app butler group was very useful. There is (or was) a gorgeous view from the shared pool/bar area. But some extensive building works are happening right in front of the hotel, which block most of the view. (And would be very loud for anyone using that pool/the bar). Luckily we had an amazing unobstructed view from our villa, and we couldn’t hear any of the construction noise. For the price per night for the villa I would also expect breakfast to be included, whether you book direct or through a 3rd party like booking.com. Also a welcome drink would be a nice touch.

- Piers (1/5): Extremely dissapointing, ruined part of our trip for the hotels greed in wanting income while improving the facilities. - Didn’t have time see anything we liked Construction everywhere and the audacity to think we could listen to hammers and saws next to our pool with a view of scaffolding. We wouldn’t have stayed there for free. Then 2 weeks of worrying about my refund which put a real negative energy on our trip. The refund should have happened within 48hrs maximum. I even had lawyers lined up. Not what I expect from a ‘luxury hotel’

We love Indonesian food so it was really important to us that there was plenty of Indonesian food on offer. They didn’t disappoint! The Bubur Ayam was fantastic and Rijsttaffl dinner in our villa was a highlight. Beautiful staff who are ready to help you with anything you might need via their Whatapp butler service. Spa services in-villa another highlight and a front row seat for spectacular Bali sunsets every night. A wonderful stay.

The staff were so kind and attentive and went over and above to ensure we had a great stay. Such a tranquil spot! One of the best stays we've ever had. Thank you to the entire team for making our holiday very special. Nothing to add here! Barmen were really great at making our cocktails beside the pool.
