• Joy (10/5): Best Hotel in Canggu - Best hotel im Canggu and our new favorite and will definitely stay here next time. First as everywhere in bali the staff is extremely nice and friendly, however the team in Koa goes above and beyond to help and make your stay great. The hotel is super clean and trendy. It has a fresh airy atmosphere much better than many 5 star that are humid and moldy. The location is super convenient, few min walk to Atlas Finns and Canggu strip, also its tucked away from the busy area so can get a quite stay minutes from the busy. They have a nice restaurant 18grams with good coffee compared to usual Hotel coffee. The have rental scooter for reasonable price which is very convenient and get it only on the days you need rather than long rentals from rental shops. Their pool was undergoing renovations so they gave us Complementary unlimited VIP access to Atlas with cabana beds .

• YINGHAN (6/5): - Great location. Finns shuttle bus No.10 bus stop is in front of the hotel and it takes 2.5 minutes to Finns and 6.5 minutes to Atlas. Hotel is currently under refurbishment, photos on the website are the hotel to be once the refurbishment is completed. Hence, please expect zero amenities. Fresh juice becomes warm at 7:45am at the open air breakfast bar on level 6. Hotel staffs are extremely friendly and helpful. Samsung TV connected with Wifi in the room which allows to surf on any websites and apps. Room size is about 30sqm with a balcony facing to the ocean. Fireworks at the Finns can be seen on the balcony. Bed is huge, however, the joint of two bed mattresses can be felt if sleeping in the middle of the bed.

• Melissa (8/5): - I stayed here for 2 nights. The staff were really helpful and polite. The room was clean and had good facilities. The only thing i would say about the room was that there was constantly a swarm of over 50 small ants on my bed, bedside table and around the room so they ended up in all of my clothes and belongings (no food left in the room or spilt drinks so unsure why). It didn’t affect my stay too much. Upstairs by the pool and bar was clean and tidy, the food and drinks were so nice and the staff asked us what music we’d like to play. The view was really nice. However, the pool was dirty and when I got out I was covered in sludge from leaning on the side of the pool so had to get my bikini washed which ruined my experience. The location is great, 5 minute walk to the beach clubs and shops. I liked how there was free entry to Atlas beach club included in the stay. The massage shop opposite the hotel (marcelin spa) is also nice and had cheap prices. I would here there again!

However, the rooms were outdated, it was noticeably dirty under the sinks and you can hear noise and doors slamming outside of the room easily. The price is good enough however to match the convenience of it being close to the beach clubs.

Pool and eating area on roof is small but it’s not crowded so it’s greet for working and relaxing… Beach clubs are only 5 mins walk away - and shopping as well.

• Mary (10/5): - Overall the KOA Surfer was a wonderful hotel for my adult daughter and I to stay in for 7 days. The hotel is clean, well managed, AC, refrig, bathroom and outlets all working. We had a room with 2 twin beds and they were long and wide enough for my 6 foot frame. The buffet breakfast had a good variety of food, made to order omelettes or eggs and lattes made to order from the breakfast bar. All the staff from the front desk to housekeeping were welcoming, friendly, helpful and responsive to our minor requests and/or questions. The hotel is within walking distance of the beach-about 15 min. walk but we chose to take a GRAB car that were abundant in and around the hotel with clean cars and friendly, competent drivers. We would definitely stay at the KOA Surfer hotel again.

The hotel does have nice pool and bar on roof. Restaurants and shops are within ten minutes walk. Beach about same distance. Walking anywhere from hotel is not good as you need to walk on the road. No street lights at night. Stuff could have better training. 3 pm checkin is not good.
• Larry (8/5): Koa D rocks - I go back every year. The staff is kind and courteous. The hotel is very affordable and offers all the same amenities as high end more expensive hotels. It’s a great location and right by the beach.

The only issue we had was location as a bit out of teh way from central canggu but quick taxi ride. breakfast was basic but adequate. seen comments about staff not speaking English and I do not agree with this - everyone was very friendly and helpful

The room smelled at first and was small and run down . I got Bali belly while I was there so it put a negative on my experience there. Much rather be down the Bukit where the beaches are 10 times better.

The lights were broken in our hallway, so it made it look pretty sketchy, our shower head was half broken so water would shoot out of the shower. Towels had some intense stains on them, food was mediocre - as was the “spa”. Was in a good location and walking distance to the beach, Finns beach club and some nice restaurants and shops.

Our shower did not work well. The handle to turn on and off kept falling off and trying to attach it was a pain in the ass. Breakfast was 7/10 but for the money it’s hard to beat

Mainly catered for young holiday makers; given the location and style of hotel. Staff were extremely friendly and there was an airport transfer which was also really convenient. Breakfast was OK, not great but also not terrible. Coffee didn't taste great either but this was a running theme in the area. Walking distance to the beach

• Alan (4/5): Disappointing hotel given the reviews/scores - We only stayed at this hotel for a couple of days, and it was booked fairly last minute as an extension of our Bali holiday so we could experience Canggu. The hotel is in a great location, close to the beach and local restaurants/bars etc but that's where the good news ends. It is not really a hotel for families, even though our kids are mid teens, the guests are mainly young budget travellers, surfers or party people. The hotel pool and rooftop bar didn't feel very welcoming, a bit messy. There was a lot of noise from other guests partying/drinking late into the night and early hours of the morning. The rooms were a good size, but bed sheets were stained, towels smelly and stained and mould in the shower area which was smelly. The breakfast buffet was a poor standard, not much choice for a 'buffet' and the orange juice was more like kids' cordial. We ended up going to a local café for breakfast instead. The check-out experience was awful. I was kept waiting for about 10-15mins while the lady on reception radio'd to another staff member who was physically checking through our rooms to see if we had used any mini bar items or damaged/stolen anything - what a poor customer experience, but not too surprising given some of the other guests we saw... We had stayed at Club Med Bali and a villa in Ubud prior to arriving at this hotel so maybe our expectations were too high, but overall a poor experience here.
• Verified traveler (10/5): “WELL PRICED, COMFORTABLE,CLEAN, FRIENDLY” - Koa D surfer is a perfect little oasis away from the hubble and bubble of the more popular areas such as Seminyak and Kuta. The rooms are tastefully decorated in a retro surf theme, the beds ar comfortable, the bathroom is clean and well maintained. The big attraction of this hotel for me is the roof top pool which overlooks the Berawa area. The staff are very friendly and attentive. It is very reasonably priced and the pictures presented are what you get. There are a number of amazing restaurants in the area, either by walking or on a scooter or bike. Its probably a 10 minute walk to the beach. I would definitely recommend this hotel for your stay in the Berawa area as your base for exploring!!!!

• Christopher (10/5): KOA - your perfect beachside "home"!!! - KOA genuinely surpassed my expectation! Pantai Berawa/Finns Beach Club are literally under 10mins walk from the hotel. The hotel has a relaxed and chill vibe, situated in a non-commercial area. There are plenty of cafes and warungs nearby for food, but they do close pretty early. Do not expect malls or souvenir stores within walking distance because the hotel is tucked away from the hustle and bustle. I would say my stay would be even better if I knew how to ride a motorcyle, but with that said, I had a great stay at the hotel! The only con about the hotel room is its bathroom. The half-glass opening concept is slightly awkward, and due to the fact that it doesn't have a "riser" from the floor and glass closure, the water ends up splashing all over the bathroom floor. After every shower, the bathroom is pretty much flooded with water.

It's a classy yet adventurous space in a little town with a very nice rooftop pool and bar. They serve a healthy breakfast buffet and has a convenience store right below the hotel. It's not a beachfront hotel but if you know hot to ride a scooter everything will be perfect as it is near to great coffee shops etc.

• Verified traveler (2/5): NO REGARDS OR VALUES ON THE SAFETY AND PRIVACY - I’ve been traveling a lot and this is the only hotel that I was so scared for my life because they don’t value your safety and privacy, they have no regards to your personals life. They were giving out to anybody your personal informations from your name, Birthday, address and even he duration of your stay???. They even will guide and bring people to your room- people that you did not know. Very scary and traumatic experience I ever have. One of the receptionist give out all the information, the security guard brought a STRANGER in coming up to my room and the housekeeping staff knocking on my door bec. The strangers asked him to??? Where in the world you can find an establishment whose putting your life in DANGER! I have to cut my stay short And transferred to another hotel for my SAFETY AND SECURITY! I was asking for the HOTEL manager when that scary incidents happened and I had to wait for almost 2 hrs to get hold of the in- charge? What upsets me the most bec. I was looking for the hotel manager and was passed from front office manager to personnel manager then to a housekeeper before I was informed that the hotel director is on leave? I booked for 14 days and they were changing linens every 3rd day? Though it’s so obvious that’s the linens were dirty and yet they don’t change it? What concerned me the most is the SAFETY, PRIVACY AND PERSONAL INFO of the guests in this hotel where’s employees doesn’t know how to keep it, protect it and respect it!
• Ellis (8/5): Yay - It's a great place because Blue Bird is able to pick you up there, Finns is just a walk away, and the beach is just a few feet away from there. Going to Arboon Beach Bar for Nasi Goreng at Sunset for dirt cheap was also a huge plus.

• Orla (8/5): Good budget/mid range option for Canggu - We had a double room facing the road which was a bit noisier than we'd have liked. The room was very clean for the most part, only thing that let it down was mould and mould mites on the curtain. these didn't bother us too much as it was isolated to the there and the bed and rest of the room was bug free but we'd expect better from a hotel. Our sheets also had a few old stains on them but that seems to be part for the course in budget/mid range Ondo accomodation. Having a pool on the roof is great, although the bar is a bit too pricey or we would have eaten there more. Breakfast buffet is simple but there's lots of choice. Staff were lovely and friendly. We rented a scooter for a couple of days too which was really handy for Canggu. Area of hotel is great for Berawa beach and a short scooter ride from the rest of Canggu.

The rooms are clean, fresh and secure with a nice modern bathroom and we felt very comfortable. Sleep great every night! All staff are friendly and polite ensuring your stay is hassle free. This includes the security guard, cleaners and reception. They all smile! The rooftop pool is well planned and gives a good view of Canggu a great place to chill out. Overall a modern clean hotel which enables you to enjoy the many activities and nice cafes nearby without breaking the bank.
