We needed an extra clean room due to asthmatic son and Was told the housekeeper was one who did a thorough job so there should be no issues but was very disappointed with the cleanliness. Started requesting a clean room 22 days prior. The dining chairs need to be thrown away. They are terrible due to the material. It was broken down and got everywhere. Couldn't sit on them without towels . Many things very outdated. TERRIBLE!

My experience at this Homewood Suites was so profoundly inept and infuriating it feels like a scam. Upon checking in, they swiped my card for the $229.31 hold. My phone lit up with an "APPROVED" notification, and the money was immediately deducted from my Chase account. Clear as day. Then, with a straight face, the desk clerk tells me *they* didn't receive the payment. So there I am, a Diamond member and out-of-town traveler, stranded in their lobby while they blame my bank. I call Chase right in front of them. Surprise, surprise—Chase confirms the payment was processed and the money is GONE from my account. Their brilliant solution? "We're gonna need another card." I explain this is my ONLY card. I've used it for years without a single issue. I tell them that running it again for the same massive amount will likely trigger a fraud alert and lock my card, leaving me completely stranded. But they don't care. They already have my money! I had to stand there and beg for the room I had already technically paid for. The response? A robotic, "Sorry, there's nothing I can do. You'll have to dispute it with your bank." So let me be perfectly clear: **Homewood Suites took $230 from my account, refused to give me a room, and told me to sort out their accounting error with my bank.** They essentially stole the money I had set aside for my stay. The level of incompetence is staggering. They have zero ability to problem-solve and even less concern for their customers. Save yourself the migraine and the fraudulent charges. Stay anywhere else.

A lot of amenities we didn’t use but nice to know they were there, like the laundry and the exercise facility. Great location for us. Excellent restaurant practically at the front door. The swimming pool was too cold for us to enjoy.

The lady at the front desk was very insensitive, short and defensive. I had 3, two bedroom suites reserved for a team bonding experience. My room were booked 6 weeks in advance. When I asked why I was receiving email confirmations from they, she said that it wasn't really them sending those emails, that it was the 3rd party, hotels.com with their name on it. I was offered separate rooms instead of my 2 bedroom suites and the sofa couch was going to be counted as a bed, for the same price! It took 45 minutes of trying to resolve the situation. I did not get much sleep after this experience!

The lady at night said she’d comp us enough points to refund our stay. She didn’t then the dayshift manager copped an attitude about how that was absurd then she told me she couldn’t put in the points, she was gonna give us for hours because she was too busy would have appreciated them to keep their word. The breakfast was good! Night shift lady was very nice.

- emmabE3709AT (4/5): Spend money elsewhere. Every other hotel in this strip cost less and is better. - Save your money September 2025 I would not recommend the hotel. For the price considering the prices of other local hotels your money is not well spent here. All public bathrooms were consistently out of toilet paper and my father found human feces just lying on the floor . The rooms were dirty. We had five people staying here 4 towels after the second day of being here and no housekeeping . I called and asked for more towels was told I could come get them. They also gave us blankets to make our own bed upon arrival dirty dishes in the dishwasher leaking toilet. I work very hard in a customer service job I do not enjoy every job I have to do but I do it because it’s my job might be some food for thought for some employees here. If this sounds like nitpicking, this hotel was not busy zero people in the lobby zero people in the courtyard zero people anywhere no toilet paper, no towels and a hot mess

- Matthias (8/5): Good hotel with great service - We booked this hotel as intermediate stop between Chicago and Dearborn. When we arrived Hilton reservation system was down. However, we were upgraded to a huge suite with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. Later, we wanted to drink beer but they had none at the small reception shop. But the very nice lady at the reception organized three warm leftover beers from the office and ice. We forgot an item in the room which was found by the room service after we left. We could pick it up on our way back. Great service! Email communication could be improved.

- JenGavin (6/5): Needs new furniture, mattresses, pillows and an overall facelift. - The rooms are well used and outdated. The layout and room itself were nice, but they need a major face-lift. The couch was horrible, and all the cushions were squished from use and had food and stains in both the couch and the chair. The bed was the worst part, so uncomfortable and leaned to the inside. In additon, the bedding/linens was aweful too. Essentially, it seems like I had 2 mattress protectors and no blankets. Pillows were so old they were a dingy yellow and also were so uncomfortable. Multiple stains in both rooms. No maid service came to make my bed and refill the coffee and towels. With new furniture and mattress I would consider staying again but other2ise I wouldn't stay here again. And the price was a std rate (not disounted or cheap) . Standard 275/night.

- bssybil (10/5): Great stay - Our stay was amazing! We stayed two days for a surprise birthday party for my sisters 60th birthday. The room was perfect, a tad outdated, but still perfect. I received a text from Alyssa L. Welcoming us to Homewood suites, and if we needed anything to please let her know. Well, I texted if it would be possible for another bath towel. (thinking this was just a canned message, and not really expecting to get a response) Within 5 minutes there was a knock on our door. Alyssa brought us another towel!!!! I was actually surprised that it really worked. The Hotel was always clean and pretty quiet and the staff was super friendly. On Saturday evening, we had a surprise 60th birthday get together with a few of our family members. We were able to set up in an area in the lodge, which made it super special for my sister and our family, and Alyssa was more than happy to take a picture of our group all together in front of the fireplace so no one was left out. Simply wonderful. We would definitely stay here again.

Hotel Ran out of decaffeinated breakfast tea and couldn’t obtain more. Temperature controls in room bad. Room had an unpleasant odor.
- 795davec (10/5): Great place to spend a night off I-94 - Great place to stop with very easy access to I-94. We travel regularly from Chicago to Detroit and this is a good halfway point. There were three of us, so we got a suite with two queen beds. Had a separate room for the beds vs. a dining and sitting area - so when one of us wanted to go the bed - the others didn't have to. We used the microwave, cups, plates, silverware, and refrigerator Breakfast had a lot of choices with healthy options. Very good courtyard with a grill, picnic area, and flowers. Very clean.

- avalawn (8/5): - The hotel is roomy and clean! The very best part of the staying experience was Amy who works at the hotel. We couldn’t say enough good about her and how much she went above and beyond. What a hard working pleasant and accommodating employee for Hilton! There is not enough room to say how much she does in her role here. We watched her do the job of 3 people in a matter of 15 minutes. The hotel does a nice breakfast and the kitchenette rooms are perfect for families. It is in a perfect location next to multiple eating options and the highway. The Only disappointment was the pool was out of service and the one treadmill was down. Great hospitality here, well done. That is sometimes the biggest draw to a place!!
- smokymtndeb (6/5): I will look elsewhere next time - I stayed here for 1 night in June. As requested, I wanted a quiet room and was given one on the back side of the property. The room was clean, quiet and very comfortable! The bed provided a good nights rest. Breakfast was fine with plenty of hot and cold items to choose from. Check in was very slow. Turns out the gal had only been there a week. She was a little off in her directions as far as the elevator and guest laundry go, but all worked out fine. I found both elevators as well as the guest laundry room (not where she said it was). Check out was very odd. There were 2 ladies working the desk at the time. I had a $50 Hilton gift card that I wanted to use and they said they were unable to accept it because they had a new system that didn't accept American Express. They were whispering back and forth to one another which was kind of rude. The American Express comment caught me off guard as my Hilton Credit Card is issued by American Express. Finally one of the ladies walked to the back office and other one said she "would try to use the gift card, but couldn't make any promises that it would work". What do you know, it worked in less than 10 seconds. All of that whispering for nothing! This property could have easily been rated 5 stars, but based on my check in experience with the new employee (who probably should not have been alone at check in) and then the two ladies at check out and their whispering to one another was a complete turn off. Based on my check in and check out experiences, I can only rate this location as "AVERAGE". Should I return to the area, I will seek out another hotel to stay at.

- Jet52481742506 (2/5): Terrible customer service - Worse hotel service and I’m a Hilton diamond member. My husband left 6 articles of clothing in the closet and I called a few hours after he left. They claim the clothes weren’t in the room and not turned into lost and found. I’ve called 6-7 times including talking to her two rude managers (first woman i didn’t get her name. Second woman was Alicia). They were so rude, unhelpful, and condescending. No one called me back even though they said they would. We will never stay at this hotel.

- SoccerMom843 (2/5): Stranger entered our room at night - We stayed here for one night due to no power in our home from a recent storm. Around 11pm, my husband woke up to a man entering the room with a room key. The man looked just as shocked as my husband about entering a room that was occupied. My husband went to the front desk to figure out why a stranger was given a key to our room when the lady at the front desk (who had no name tag), rolled her eyes and stated she didn't know. My husband who was upset asked for her name and she refused to give her name and when he asked for the mangers name and number, she stated "I am the manager". When my husband called her bluff, she proceeded to threaten to call the police and have us removed from the property. My husband asked her how she would feel if some stranger entered her room while she was sleeping and she ignored him. She told my husband because his name wasn't on the reservation she could have him kicked out. When I made the reservation through priceline, I stated there would be two adults and two children (only name it asked for was the person who was booking the reservation). My husband stated to her that he would be calling the police and filing a report for negligence. once the police officer arrived, the front desk lady, told my husband her name and gave him the card to the general manager. All my husband wanted to do was notify the manger since it could have been just me and the kids in the room and who knows what would have happened and the front desk lady escalated the situation to involving the police. In the morning, the assistant manager was at the front desk when we checked out, and we explained to her what had happened. She was apologetic but made excuses for the "newer" staff that gave the gentlemen the wrong room and key, and stated there must have been a staffing change because the lady that my husband dealt with was not the one who gave the gentlemen the key. She also stated that "the lady who my husband dealt with only works a couple times a month and they haven't gotten many complaints about her". This was a huge safety issue that was not handled professionally, and I would never ever recommend this hotel to anyone for that reason.

We’ve stayed here several times while visiting a loved one’s gravesite from Virginia, and each time has been consistently excellent. This hotel is always accommodating, spotless, and welcoming—with convenient access, easy parking, and smooth check-in and check-out. It continues to exceed our expectations, and we have to commend the team for maintaining the cleanest and most well-organized breakfast bar we’ve ever seen. Truly well done. - Terence (2/5): Hill - My recent stay at the Homewood hotel was a disaster. The front desk staff seemed clueless, unable to answer my questions or provide assistance. To make matters worse, I was not informed that the pool was under construction and the entire hotel was being renovated, which would have been a deal-breaker for me. My room wasn't cleaned during my stay, and the dishes were dirty. When I asked for cleaning chemicals to clean the bathroom tub for my child, I was given a magic eraser, which was woefully inadequate. Needless to say, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

- Field (1/5): Instead of enjoying our night we spent another $200 at Black rock to watch Basketball... - Black rock next door We booked the hotel because of the pool and hot tub. My son was on spring break and wanted to swim. We were headed to the Air Zoo 4 miles away the next day. When I booked online nothing alerted us that this was not the case. When we arrived they had a note on the front desk. Because I booked through a 3rd party.(Third party did not have this listed) I was unable to cancel. The lce machine was down so we couldn't keep our drinks cold. March Madness was on and we couldn't watch it because the tv kept going out. We asked the staff and they said there was nothing they could do. They had satellite tv and due to the wind that always happens.

We booked through the site and we were given a fourth floor room that we had to use the stairs to get to. Waiting to hear back from booking.com about a refund. No pool. Broken elevator. Wasn’t told either of these at checking until we had checked in. I wouldn’t have accepted the room had I known the elevator didn’t work and there was no pool; the only reason we wanted a staycation!

- floydw554 (2/5): Traveler BEWARE!! - When we are away multiple nights we try to stay at a Residence Inn whenever we can. But when reserving a room for our yearly trip to Kalamazoo,MI we found our favorite hotel to be closed. We opted to stay at Homewood Suites as they best replicate the "apartment" style design we prefer. Homewood was conveniently located to the Expo Center and got high ratings. What we found however, is that while the structure was fairly new, it was not well cared for at all. Fact is, the room should have come with a disclaimer of sorts. We found the rooms were not clean. There was enough dust on the top of the frig to plant potatoes. There were no sets of utensils in the kitchen area. One glass and one cup. A serving spoon and a regular spoon. The bedding did not fit the bed. Dogs barked from various rooms for hours at a time. There was marijuana smoke in the hallways and out of control tenants causing loud disruptions at all hours of the night. Dogs were allowed in and around the breakfast area. Barking and yipping to the pleasure of their owners. Having said that, please understand that we are not biased to race, creed or culture as we have spent our careers in human services. This however was unacceptable for traveling guests. I would highly advise that you DO NOT STAY HERE. Shame on management and shame on cooperate for allowing such misappropriation to exist.
