Guest Reviews
- Santiago (10/5): Enchanting beautiful Riad - Riad Samsara is an amazing place so beautiful and well decorated. Staying at this comfortable and charming Riad, you feel like in a movie or mini-palace. It is a bit further from downtown than other Riads but it is so enchanting that it's worth it.
- Eleanor (5/5): overall experience didn’t live up to the expectations set by the photos and reviews, especially for the price paid. - The riad itself was lovely and the staff were very warm and welcoming throughout our stay. It did feel tranquil compared to the busy medina and offered a more local, authentic Marrakech experience. You can walk to the main square from the riad, and there was also a safe in the room for valuables. I do feel the current reviews and photos don’t fully reflect the overall experience. The riad is located in a much more local part of the medina and we often felt uncomfortable walking around the area, especially at night. Ubers/taxis won’t collect or drop you directly outside, so you have to walk to a nearby pickup point which didn’t always feel particularly safe.
While the riad could feel peaceful at times, it was also surprisingly noisy at night with shouting outside. Communication could also be difficult as most staff didn’t speak English and the English-speaking house manager was rarely there.
The room doors couldn’t be locked from the outside when leaving, which felt unsettling despite there being a safe. The riad also didn’t quite match the photos online and felt more worn in person.
The rooms were also very dark, and the air conditioning leaked during our stay which caused a puddle on the floor. A smaller point, but there was only one mirror in the bathroom and nowhere comfortable to properly get ready, which may matter to some guests.
Another thing to be aware of is that bottled water is charged separately and any extras must be paid in cash only. We were only informed of this the evening before leaving, by which point we had very little cash left.
- Alexandru Gabriel (10/5): Oasis - Absolutely beautiful riad, comfortable, silent and relaxing. Only 3 room, you have privecy and big and authentic room decorations. The inner yard is absolutely stunning, green, clean and peaceful. The breakfast is good, we have also a very pleasant privat dinner with delicious food. The breakfast could have more variety, a omelette could be added.

- abhishek kathait (10/5): - Staff and room was amazing Breakfast could atleast have and egg dish
- laura camelia (10/5): - Un museo 🙏🏻
- George (10/5): Beautiful Riad with excellent staff - This is a beautiful Riad with excellent staff. A delicious meal was prepared for us on our first night at a very reasonable cost. Bouchra, the house manager, was very efficient and organised taxis and a day trip for us. It was very comfortable and the terrace was an additional plus. Luna the cat was a star attraction. Breakfasts were very good.
- Vanesa (10/5): Exceptional - It's a beautiful riad with an amazing service and staff who were so kind and attentive (and Luna the cat, too!) The breakfast was delicious. A special thanks to Bouchra who helped us with everything we needed. Highly recommend! Nothing

- Miriam (9/5): - Riad Samsara is incredibly beautiful, and we particularly loved the friendly cat. The area is a little further out than where we’d stayed previously but it’s only a short walk to the main areas and we were able to find our way. It is run by a group of women (which is welcome) and we had the best breakfast of anywhere we’d stayed with great coffee. The room was very nicely decorated and the bathroom was a good size. The immediate area feels a little less safe than where we’d been before and I was intimidated into paying someone 10euros for carrying our bags on a trolley (which we didn’t ask for) to the riad. The riad is down a little alley and I wouldn’t feel comfortable coming and going from here had I been travelling alone.
A quite big negative for me was that there are no locks on the doors to your room, it has a safe but you still have to trust that no one will enter whilst you’re out. On top of that you can’t lock the door from the inside either and there is no one on site after 7pm. The riad has a roof terrace which can be easily accessed, so we locked the door to the terrace at night and put our cases against the door when we slept. Because of this I wouldn’t have wanted to stay here more than one night.
The roof terrace isn’t well maintained either and doesn’t feel like a place you’d want to hang out in.
- Przemysław (10/5): -
- Clare (4/5): - The Riad was pretty, the beds were very comfy and the food was good. The location is not good and it’s really hard to find. You must arrange pick up and drop off with the Riad directly if you are traveling solo or with females only because we felt unsafe. The Riad is unstaffed overnight. We were told to pay cash for the room a couple of hours before arrival, and while we were able to pay with card there were some issues doing so.
- Emma (10/5): I would 100% recommend staying here! - This property is quite possibly one of the nicest places I have stayed.
It was so beautiful. The decor, the plants 🌱, the book on your room, the staff - it was just faultless!!! I would 100% recommend this Riad!
The service starts before you even get there. Bouchar the manager, is in touch to make sure you have everything you need.
The staff here were amazing and the home cooked meals were fantastic.
I went and did yoga on the roof one morning and one afternoon me and my mum sat out on the balcony and coloured. It was just amazing! Literally nothing.
- Virág (9/5): -
- Emmanuelle (9/5): Parfait - Le décors Rien
- Rus (10/5): -
- Laurence (9/5): -
- Isabel (10/5): -
- joanne (10/5): - Beautiful riad with amazing service. Nothing
- Anco (9/5): - Nice staff Location
- Nathan (10/5): Amazing! - The riad and staff are amazing. I cannot fault anything really! You can tell that a lot of thought has gone into the riad and it has been very well looked after. The cat, Luna, is lovely and very friendly! Nothing, but if coming from the airport, organise a taxi through the riad! The riad is difficult to get to and is in a ‘local’ area and it may make it less stressful to orgainise this through the riad!
- Irati (10/5): -
- Tatiana (4/5): I will never go back or recommend it ! Is not worth it the money! Not so friendly staff and so bad location! U pay fortu - Clean room Very small room
- Eveline (10/5): Sehr empfehlenswert, jederzeit wieder - Zentral gelegen, sehr ruhig, idealer Rückzugsort nach den vielen Eindrücken der Stadt, schöne Dachterasse, geschmackvoll eingerichtetes Zimmer, leckeres Frühstück, sehr herzliches Personal
- Amanda (9/5): Tranquil, safe, wonderful staff and very special breakfast - This is a very quiet and delightful place off the Medina, an oasis of beautifully designed space which is what you need after the bustle of Marrakesh I liked everything, loved the house cat Luna, I will say they offered for us to park in a public parking and Fetch us we thought no it will be easy to find. We should have taken up offer and will next time. On Google Maps seems simple but a lot of the narrow roads are pedestrian only or one way. We got very lost. It is about a 20 min walk to the main part of Medina, alley way not well sign posted, all I can suggest is a sign on larger road to help visitors find it
- Adrian (10/5): -
- Richard (9/5): Beautiful Riad, highly recommended - The traditional decor is very well preserved (tiles, plasterwork, etc), and excellent bathrooms have been added in appropriate style. The roof terrace is a nice place to sit in the sun or shade. The downstairs rooms are lovely too. The staff are friendly and very helpful. Location is within the Medina but away from the main tourist area, about 15-20 mins walk from the centre. Nothing
- Natacha (10/5): -
- Amelia (9/5): -
- Raquel (7/5): -
- Paula (10/5): -
- Aishatu (8/5): I only stayed for one night, but it was definitely a memorable stay. - Great location and the staff were really sweet and helpful. The breakfast was alright, nothing special but the friendliness of the staff definitely made up for everything.
- Raquel (8/5): -
- Elli (10/5): -
- James (8/5): Great for a couple of days - Nice property, comfortable beds, nice breakfast and lovely dinner. Very good comms. Enjoyed our stay. Possibly a little more off the beaten track than I was expecting.
- Valeria (8/5): -
- Paolo (8/5): Very nice and quite riad out of the usually beaten path - Beautiful riad in a quiet area of the medina.
Delicious welcoming dinner, one of the best meals of the entire trip. Breakfast was also very good.
Friendly and helpful owner and staff. A bit far away from the main highlights, it takes about 20 minutes walk from the main square, and you need to use some maps in order not to get lost.
Not much space in the room to open the luggage.
The shower in the room lacked a curtain so it required some caution not to make the whole floor wet.
- Delia (10/5): - We loved our stay at Riad Samsara. It’s a peaceful, beautifully decorated traditional riad where we instantly felt at home. Breakfast was delicious, and the ladies working there were incredibly kind and attentive. Bouchra, made everything feel effortless and welcoming.
Visiting in December meant cozy morning breakfast by the fireplace, such a unique and unexpected touch for Marrakech. The area felt very safe, even when walking at night. And the absolute highlight was Luna, the sweetest cat, who happily kept us company whenever we let her.
A truly warm and memorable experience. We highly recommend it.
- Fenella (10/5): Beautiful peaceful stay in an amazing room - Everything, it is so peaceful and in a nice part of the medina a little further away from the busiest parts but still super close to everything. Absolutely stunning place as well and the breakfast was massive and delicious. The staff were lovely and super helpful booking taxis etc. The room was lovely as well.
- Iva Ivanova (10/5): - Great hosts, amazing location! Will definitely go back again! The breakfast was also great, and the pet cat Luna helped a lot for the atmosphere. Strongly recommend the place!
- Eliandra (8/5): -
- Jantien (7/5): Ok but we wouldn’t recommend nor return - We liked that we were able to walk mostly everywhere from the riad. Be advised that taxis aren’t able to stop at the entrance, you always have to walk a bit. We liked the authentic look and feel of the riad. We enjoyed the variation of the breakfast each morning. We also liked the ladies working there and the easy communication with the manager. We didn’t like how dark our room was, there is very little natural light coming in. The bathroom (specifically the shower and the towels) felt quite old and in need of an update. We also did not appreciate being charged 500 dirhams for a lunch which we had after first arriving. We tried to negotiate this down as it was clearly too much but still had to pay 400 dirhams for a lunch which we know wasn’t worth that much. So be careful and ask for the price of things up front (same applies to taxis they might call for you, we were always able to find better deals ourselves)
- Francesca (10/5): - A fantastic stay at Riad Samsara! The location is perfect: central in the Medina but on safe, well-lit streets with all attractions and day trip pickups within walking distance. The owner and staff are incredibly caring and helpful throughout. Bonus: a super nice resident cat, Luna! Highly recommended!
- trifu (10/5): - The accommodation was in a good area, clean and the staff were very nice.
Also, Luna, the Riad cat was a delight
- Guillem (10/5): -
- Andrew (10/5): This was the highlight of Marrakech for us - The property is beautiful and decorated with love and attention. There are so many little details to enjoy. The location is excellent as well, north of the main square and away from the tourist heavy areas so you get a more authentic experience near locals. All staff were wonderful. The breakfast was excellent. And our personal favourite part: the housecat Luna is so adorable and sweet; sge spent a lot of time with us and we still think about her. Great stay overall. Only thing for me personally is the bed was a bit small as I am taller, and with the footboard I couldn’t fit normally but that is specific for me and a minor issue
- Antonio Alvarez (10/5): - This place is an incredible oasis of peace within the bustle of Marrakech. Super friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful riad The location is a little far from the main attractions
- Philip (9/5): -
- stephanie (10/5): Dépaysement total au sein de ce palais - Ce riad est un vrai palais, la décoration est très soigné, le confort est absolu, on s'y sent coupé du monde bien qu'au coeur de la ville... le petit déjeuner est très bien;
- Lange (9/5): -
- Alice (9/5): -
- Samuel (9/5): La pace all’interno della Medina - Accogliente e pulita, camera ampia e confortevole, personale gentile.
- Kirsten (9/5): -
- Andrea (8/5): -
- Gemma (10/5): Relaxing, tranquil and felt like home. - Everything. The staff were so gracious, welcoming and friendly, especially the resident cat Luna! The owner has an amazing eye for design and the entire setting is simply stunning and tranquil. Nothing really, it was perfect. If you are thinking of booking here there is sometimes a little noise outside but you are in a city and that is absolutely nothing compared to if you were in the main tourist area. It’s a part of medina culture.
Mivel reggelente korán útrakeltünk a hölgyek minden alkalommal megkészítettek a reggelit, előre megterítettek nekünk. A riad igazán autentikus, minden részletre figyeltek. Csak ajánlani tudom mindenkinek 🙂
- Andrea (10/5): -
- Virginia (10/5): Top! I wish I could visit at least once a year! - The owner and her helper were lovely.
We missed one night out of two because of troubles with the luggage- bummer! Yet we arrived at Riad Samsara and everything (cat included!!!♥️)was adorable. It felt like a Japanese zen garden…thank you so much for your warm hospitality 🙌🏼
- Silke (10/5): - Sehr schöne Unterkunft in authentischer Umgebung. Unfassbar nettes Personal. Klasse Dachterrasse.
- Philip (10/5): - A beautiful place to stay!
- Gonçalo (10/5): -
- Nuria (10/5): Excellent riad - Friendly and helpful staff, very close to a parking area to meet taxi drivers, room very clean and cosy, charming and peaceful patio
- Eduardo (9/5): Superb - The place is spotlessly clean, the food provided wa delicious. The staff are very accomodating and willing to assist with anything we needed. Site is very tucked away. Don't even trust google maps. Its easy to loose your way.
- Andrey (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful riad in calm area.
Good breakfast, pleasant staff. Stunning decoration.
- Robert (10/5): We just loved it. - The beautiful room. The courtyard. A peaceful sanctuary. No protein for someone with a dairy intolerance. I am sure they would have accommodated me though, had I mentioned it.
- Tomas (9/5): Superb -
- Deronee (10/5): Great stay and would definitely recommend! - The staff were really friendly and were always really attentive and helpful despite the language barrier! The riad was clean and beautiful. It was slightly out of the way from the medina however you could easily walk there with no problems. It was so peaceful and quiet in the riad. The only downfall was that we were told we could pay the remaining balance by card prior to arriving however, once it came to paying on our last day we were told this needed to be in cash. This was more inconvenient than anything and wouldn’t stop me staying here again!
