Guest Reviews
- Emma (9/5): Excellent! - Coffee all day, water fountain. Staff was so excellent. Room was clean and exactly what we needed. Everything was excellent, but to be slightly nit picky - Found one small tissue behind the night stand, bed was slightly pitched to middle so my partner and I rolled into center. Otherwise was very comfortable. Would have liked a screen on front window maybe, or a way to get a cross breeze while still maintaining privacy, but I know that is a tough one with the setup of the motel.
- yves (8/5): -
- Lucy (7/5): It was satisfactory - Close to town No iron in the room
- Nichols (8/5): -
- Cheunsumon (6/5): The pictures are a bit deceptive. The place looks older than it looks in the picture. Bathtub clogged. Hair dryer broken -
- Jan (9/5): Clean and comfortable - Location to local attractions The windows in the room didn’t lock
- Nicole (8/5): -
- veronique (9/5): Très bien - Le thé et café gratuit à disposition
L emplacement Lit pas très large

- Corinne (10/5): 10/10- would stay again! - Delightful staff, incredibly helpful!
- Urretxu (8/5): - Ofrecen café, te,... todo el día. Buena ubicación. Personal simpático. Limpieza.

- megan01236 (10/5): Great Motel Option in Bar Harbor, ME! - Highly recommend the Anchorage Motel! You really can't beat the location as it is within walking distance to all the sites in town. The motel itself was very clean and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful, in particular Susie who gave us many great restaurant and hiking recommendations! This is a great place to stay, especially for those who plan to spend most of their time out exploring the area and want a comfortable and convenient place to stay at night. Without question, this is where I would book if we are ever able to make it back to Bar Harbor again!
- Barbara (10/5): - Front desk employees were very accommodating. We had car trouble on the way and needed to add a night to our stay and it was no problem. The staff were very nice and had great recommendations. Nothing.
- Daniel (10/5): -
- Theodore (8/5): Basic room with no frill, walkable to town - Location Bathroom was small
- Linda (4/5): Unpleasant - Although it’s located in a decent area the property is not well-maintained the rooms are not clean and should be repainted. The motel is way over priced at $347 a night. No one should pay more than $150 to stay at this property!!! I would not recommend this property to anyone! The motel was run down and dirty!
- Gwen (8/5): -
- Yoko (10/5): -
- Michelle (10/5): Nice stay! - Very convenient to downtown!
- Bernardo (9/5): - Excellent and safe location, near downtown Price
- ANDREA (9/5): Great location, simple, clean and quiet, will stay here again! - Great location, easy check in and check out, clean rooms, comfy beds. Perfect for our visit
- Ann (7/5): decent - WAS THE AREA AROUND THE HOTEL SAFE? YES, for the most part until I encountered two guys drinking and smoking
at the picnic table inside of the parking area late one night. They were a bit creepy, and I assumed they were NOT hotel guests
- DANIEL (9/5): -
- JOHN (9/5): Great value and location 👍 - Location and value. Small bathroom and noise above.
- Emily (10/5): - Comfortable and convenient. I guess it can get noisy but that depends on the guests. It's out of the motels control. Just bring ear plugs.
- Shelia (1/5): Very disappointing. - Walking distance to everything which is why I stayed there but would not have if I had know the rest of the story! Carpet stained, odor in room, could see people outside bathroom window which had no curtain. Fixtures and old heater in floor were all rusted. Beds slept like doors. Ridiculously high price for such accommodations. Very disappointed.
- Shaun (10/5): - The location and patience when I accidentally booked the wrong week. Guess the front porch light wouldn't turn on. Everything worked as expected.
- Nancy (10/5): -
- m33sot (10/5): A good experience! - Comfortable bed and room, friendly staff, good location. Morning coffee in the lobby was appreciated and it was great to have a fridge and small microwave in the room I was very happy with my stay here.
- baileyu82 (10/5): Great value for money - We came on the very last weekend of the season and this hotel was insane value for money. Clean space and convenient location. Susie was the best! She gave great recommendations for hikes in Acadia. She just went above and beyond to make sure we felt welcomed and had everything we needed. Will for sure say again.
- Agnes (8/5): Basic Rooms, Great Location - Clean, bright rooms. Having a fridge was great as we put focus was exploring Acadia and not dining out. Comfortable beds. Perfect location to easily get out of town with minimal traffic, and walk to downtown. On the expensive side for a pretty basic room, but location makes it worth the price.
- suzannesF8282DD (10/5): WONDERFUL PLACE! - If you are looking for a wonderful place to stay… this is it!!! It’s in great location for the person who loves to park the car and walk to town which is full of delicious restaurants and shopping. Susie at the front desk is AMAZING!! She was so welcoming and friendly. Delicious hot coffee is available in the lobby 24 hours daily… the rooms are very clean and comfortable. So glad we made this choice! We will definitely be back! A++
- Nitsan (10/5): - Very spacious and clean, excellent location with parking close to center of Bar Harbor. No elevator to second floor
- philippe (8/5): Great location, short walk to everything. Free parking. - Great location, short walk to everything. Free parking.
- 691jadynb (10/5): Everything for our stay was lovely. - Everything was lovely, and in a perfect spot for walking to down town. We were able to stay close to our family in a separate room which was a treat. Suzie was lovely at checkout as well :)
- nicholasz609 (10/5): Very nice stay - Great stay. Susie was awsome……………………………………………………..!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- leilasX8205ZW (10/5): Very clean and good price - This was a great motel for the price! It was located right by the Main Street and close to Acadia national park. Rooms were very clean and bathroom had your basic amenities. Everything was perfect for our stay and again, this was such a great motel for the price point. Check in and out was easy as well, and staff was very friendly. Thank you to Susie and Danette!

- Jeffrey (10/5): Perfect location to walk around and explore. - Great location Nothing.. missed breakfast snacks..
- David (10/5): -
- R667UPcristinaf (10/5): Wonderful - This is a lovely place to stay, close to downtown Bar Harbor. Very clean, nicely designed room. Comfortable bed and soft towels. Susie, who checked us in, was friendly and helpful with local recommendations. Delicious coffee too.

- Jill (10/5): -
- H5987FLchrisb (10/5): Great value - Great location within walking distance of downtown. I only meant to stay for two days, but with the help of Susie I was able to enjoy the autumn splendor for another two nights.
- Showfan29 (10/5): Anchorage Motel - Fantastic Experience - This was such a fun experience! Anchorage Motel is the best location in Bar Harbor with just a quick walk to down town and just a few minutes drive to Acadia National Park! The staff here were so kind! We had some amazing food per the recommendation from Susie at the Friar Inn. Susie also helped us with a map and gave us a better way of the land! This was a must stay and we will be back!
- Alison (8/5): Awesome location and price point with free parking and in walking distance of Main Street/waterfront. - Great location with free parking. Only a few blocks to Main Street Bar Harbor and several more blocks to the waterfront. Great value for the location. It’s a basic motel property, although clean and it felt very safe. Our room was on the first floor, so we could hear other guests walking and talking in front of our room. We could also hear the cars starting and driving around the lot. The walls are very thin so if you’re a light sleeper, you will hear your neighbors on both sides as well as the guests staying directly above your room. Next time, I would prefer a room on the second floor. And yes, I would definitely stay at the property again due to the great location and price.
- O1184ENjamesm (10/5): Clean and friendly. - Convienent location, clean room, friendly and efficient check-in. Suzie provided great information and was delightful to chat with. Thanks for making my stay memorable.
- Kimberly (9/5): Excellent Location with very friendly staff. - excellent location. clean and tidy. friendly staff. I wish the room had a microwave.
- Chris (8/5): - Love the location, walking distance from downtown and very nice employees. Great for the price! Walls and ceiling thin and tv is spotty
- Woodman (6/5): -
- toril984 (10/5): 10/10 Stay..Even While Sick! - This was my husband and I’s 6th year in Maine and 2nd time at the Anchorage and we had such a great experience. We stayed in one of the upstairs rooms in the newer built building to the side of the main motel, and absolutely loved it. Bed was really comfy, tv being wall mounted gave us a lot more space, the bathroom was all new and updated - we especially loved the in-fan heater! The other part of what made it experience wonderful was the team who gave us extra towels and pillows and particularly Ms . Susie who kept us stocked on tea! We both got sick right at the beginning of our trip and Susie helped take care of us like we were her own. We’ll definitely be back!
- Tori & Ben
- Scott (10/5): It was amazing -
- Quest46944109456 (10/5): Great service, and great stay! - Customer service was impeccable! Susie gave us an amazing service, and greeted us with a big smile. She was very helpful, and seemed to fully enjoy helping others. Would definitely go back!
- frankpQ4826HD (10/5): A Pleasant Experience - An old school motel right in the middle of town. All the shops and restaurants within easy walking distance. Ample parking and morning coffee!. Suzie, the concierge, is an absolute delight.
- shandrah2018 (8/5): Very clean and convenient to town - We stayed in a second floor room in a newer building off the main hotel. It was extremely clean and neat. Not a large room but very comfortable bed and well kept. The people are extremely friendly and eager to make your stay pleasant. The only reason I took off a star is that there’s not much room to hang things up. It wasn’t a big deal, but it would have been nice to have a closet or something more than a bar above the refrigerator with a few hangers. All in all it was a pleasant stay and I’d book it again.
- 287magicmike (10/5): Susie is the Greatest! - We checked in and immediately were warmly welcomed by Susie. She gave us great suggestions on placing to eat and visit while in Bar Harbor. Later that evening Susie said hello to us while in town at a restaurant we were both eating. Loved the free parking and walkable access to downtown. Highly recommend this place. Susie deserves a raise!
- Deborah Mohr (10/5): Great location - Very friendly staff and very helpful!!
- Lacey (5/5): Wish I had stayed elsewhere for my one and only trip to Bar Harbor. - The staff was unfriendly. The parking was bad. The mattress AND pillows were awful. Not super close to downtown, but walkable (11 mins). Hotel was dated and in disrepair, stairs and railings need repair! At $415/night this place was hugely disappointing! No coffee in room/TINY, very dated bathrooms. Ridiculous price for this place.
- Jaynee (8/5): It was exactly what I needed - a comfortable and clean place to lay my head! - It was a traditional motel - basic but comfortable. Very clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. You could hear the noise in the parking lot and on the balcony.
- Gary (6/5): - This is a motel, not a hotel. It’s a 50s era motor court. That being said, location is fantastic. Short walk to downtown Bar Harbor and a few minutes drive to Acadia. The parking is good and the staff are friendly and helpful. But…the rooms are tired, beds need replacing, ROKU TV is inconvenient and the bathroom is small and outdated. Way way overpriced for an aging motel.
- Anne (8/5): - Location was pretty convenient, lots of parking.
- NATALIE (6/5): - The motel overall is good. The cleaning staff missed a whole day and never replaced the toilet paper, we had to go ask for rolls. This is a very basic room, but it is clean. No bells and whistles at all. It is very convenient to Bar Harbor center and to Acadia National Park. It was way overpriced for what it was.
- Mobile66817617936 (10/5): Above and Beyond Service - Susie was amazing!! She went above and beyond to make sure our trip was fabulous!! Thank you Susie! Our room was spotless and it was walking distance to everything.
- frankllinc2024 (10/5): Great location and service - I stayed at this hotel and had a great experience. The location is perfect, close to everything, and Susie was super friendly and helpful. I highly recommend staying here!
- Wendi (6/5): - Worst pillows I have ever received at a hotel. Thin walls could hear snoring from a room next to us. Room was clean.
- SDLSDLSDL (10/5): Book This "Motel" - Everyone working at the desk was AWESOME! Friendly, gave great advice on what to see and how to get there. Easy to walk downtown. Loved the Adirondak chairs (so what if they are plastic) to soak up some sun and relax. Bathroom was a little dated, but clean is more important and it was. Bar Harbor is expensive, and this was a great place to save a little money to pay for those lobster rolls!!
- Beverly (10/5): - Room was clean and comfortable. Friendly front desk staff.
- Mardi (10/5): - Front desk attendants were very friendly and helpful. Good coffee in the morning
- Carmen (8/5): We enjoyed the location best of all - Great location for ease of walking to shops and restaurants
It looked like an old but renovated motel We were on lower floor and could hear all the steps above us
- Stacy (6/5): - It was fine. Struggled to comfortably fit our family of 4 in the room. Bare essentials. No frills. It was clean but dated.
- sammyjane101 (10/5): Bar Harbor and Arcadia trip. - Very nice staff, walking distance to downtown Bar Harbor, clean room. Recommend staying on second floor if able to use stairs due to noise above. Susie is super nice and knowledgeable about the area. Loved Arcadia and Pickled Wrinkle in Schoodic.
- איתי פולד (8/5): -
- Nicholas (8/5): -
- Jancy (10/5): - Great location with only a 5 minute walk to shopping and restaurants. Plenty of parking available. It is an older building but clean and comfortable. Would absolutely stay again!
- Sonia (10/5): - Quaint motel in the center of town. Everything is very walkable. Staff very helpful with recommendations.
- Andersen (8/5): - The location was perfect—walking distance to downtown and less than a mile from Acadia National Park. The staff was so friendly! While it’s an older motel, it was clean, comfortable, and met our expectations for a nice place to stay.
- Dara (10/5): - Lovely place to stay.
- Annette (6/5): - Overheard staff in reception area complaining that they were ready to be done with the season. While I imagine that is true, as a guest currently paying for their lodging, I wasn’t happy hearing it. Staff should be more aware of what they say in front of guests.
- mitchellt445 (10/5): Convenient and great place to stay in downtown Bar Harbor. - The Anchorage was secure, nice and very comfortable. The receptionist was really great. Both Susie and the other lady took care of us and made great suggestions for places to eat and places to go, which might be off the normal tourist beating path that made it special. Having coffee and candy by the way in the lobby was always appreciated and the room service people were good to always give us extra towels or whatever we might need. The best part about the anchorage was that it was right in town and within walking distance of every place we wanted to go in the village of Bar Harbor.
- brigid (10/5): Very centrally located clean motel with great staff . - Location!
10 minutes drive to Acadia national park and just a few minutes walk into center of Bar Harbor shops and restaurants NA
- 818lizk (10/5): Wonderful location, comfy and great value - The Anchorage Motel is a perfect place to stay to explore Bar Harbor and Acadia. The rooms are simple but roomy, comfortable, and great value. Parking is free. Acadia is a short drive away. The town is easy to get to by walking. A big thank you to Susie who was always friendly, helpful, and gave us great recommendations for places to eat.
- John (10/5): - Adequate
- Hedgepeth (10/5): - Dry enjoyable
- Pamela (6/5): - Upstairs neighbor walking around woke us up otherwise stay was okay
- Donna (10/5): - Rooms clean
Great walking to downtwn
- Eileen (8/5): - The staff was friendly & helpful in getting around the area.
- Carol Celeste (10/5): - Beds were very comfortable.
Coffee in the office was great. Staff was friendly.Free parking in lot it front of motel. Location was perfect.
- Linda (4/5): - Ended up leaving the next day, room above me woke me up at 4 in the morning, lousy sleep. They would not even think of refunding me for the second night, when they knew they could fill the vacancy with a walk in. Someone made some extra money and left me paying 391.00 for a night I didn’t stay, very disappointed!
- Catherine (8/5): - it was good enough
- Saige (10/5): - Staff met all requests. Fairly quiet. Close to town for a convenient walk to downtown activities.
- Lisa (5/5): - Location This property is in serious need of an update. On the same level of a tired Motel 6.
- Haim (8/5): Nice hotel in Bar Harbor - Clean and big room, a bit small shower, big parking, walking distance to main street
- Lani (8/5): - Clean rooms and the staff was extremely helpful
- BRIAN (10/5): - Great location, clean room, parking was great. Would have liked to have a coffee machine in the room.
- DARREL (4/5): - We picked this property because of its location. Convient to downtown Bar Harbor. The facility is dated and shows its age. The staff is rude and uncaring. Went to office day one to let them know we could get no tv reception. Their comment was “we are on an island you know “. Be prepared the tv reception is almost nonexistent between 5pm and midnight when everyone is on the internet. If you do not have a tv service you can log onto you will not be able to see network channels. Just the ones no one wants to see.
We had three couples with three rooms. We were all in one suv. Staff came running out of office and shouted because we were over the line with the suv. We told her we could be inthree cars and take up three spaces.
No coffeemaker or microwave in room.
- Lee (6/5): - I knew Bar Harbor was a very expensive destination but the amount we paid for a Motel 6 like room is unreal. It does have a convenient location and staff were friendly but it is run down and the mattress was very uncomfortable. The tv had no cable only Roku that didn’t work at night.
