Guest Reviews
- Gail (3/5): Too expensive and not up to standard - Toilet didn’t work properly, door into bathroom squeaked all the time and woke us up, fridge made strange noises all night, room was too hot could not control temp. Room very very small.
- Sarah (7/5): - Staff The amount of condensation, but understandable for an old property
- Cheuk Man (5/5): Won’t recommend it to anyone who expect more than just a bed and a shower to spend the night - Location and parking The room is too small to accommodate 3 people. Space is very limited for suitcases and our own toiletries. If you just need a shower and a bed to sleep and no more. We that the place is not well cleaned. There was an egg sandwich in the mini fridge which was left by the previous guests (not sure when) with dripping liquid (Yuk!). Manager who stayed there was not enthusiastic.
- Jeff (8/5): -
- Amy (8/5): Lovely, comfortable place to stay in beautiful Arrowtown. - The property was in a great location. Our room was clean and tidy and had what we needed. Beds were very comfortable and shower was great. A little more communication would have been nice. There was no-one there for check in and out and we weren’t quite sure where to leave the keys at check out. I did message the property but didn’t hear back so assume what we did was okay.

- Sandra (10/5): Charming property in gorgeous town! - The location is great - one short block from Arrowtown's main street if you go through the property, 2 short blocks from the front. The property itself is charming and well maintained. The room is small, but adorable and 2 people with a medium suitcase and carryon each were a bit tight, but we managed. Everything else about it was lovely. Jenny, who was managing the property while we were there, was very friendly and helpful. The dead bolt needs to be oiled a bit. That's about it!
- Qian (8/5): - 位置很好找,门口可以停车,卫生间干湿分离,有暖风机和暖气片,热毛巾架~ 隔音不太好,楼上走动、洗澡等都能听到
- Marianna (10/5): We had a magical stay! - The property was so beautiful. It was like walking into a magical garden. The room was so thoughtful thought out and very comfortable. The owner, Paul was so friendly and accommodating.
- Karen (10/5): Unique and comfortable - Super cute cottages with comfortable beds, dark and quiet, coffee facilities, fridge, good Wifi/smart TV. Outdoor seating with private fireplace. Excellent location to walk into town. On-site parking. Great host who lugged our luggage a few steps down through the complex to our cottage. Only 20 minute drive to the airport. We needed the help with luggage. Though ground floor, there are various steps between cottages in the garden complex.
- Suzanne (6/5): A little disappointed in our room, but lovely town to visit - Location was great. Very short walk to town centre. Our room, The Studio, was located underneath another room, The Loft. We could hear absolutely everything from above. Every footstep, every bathroom visit and shower, and every conversation. Also, room very small and nowhere to put luggage, no cupboards.
- Anne (10/5): This property is just lovely and staying there enhanced my visit to New Zealand. - I did not have the breakfast as I was visiting family, but the lodge is charming and comfortable. Paul, the owner was helpful with my bags, and the location (near downtown and a playground) was perfect for my needs. No complaints.
- Xian (7/5): -
- keith (10/5): -
- Victoria (10/5): Cozy comfortable stay only steps away from center - Great location only steps away from the historic center for food and shops. A really comfortable and cozy stay! Water pressure in the shower was great and the beds were really comfortable. Everything was great!
- Wendy (3/5): Very disappointed….far too small - Location It was too cramped. Nowhere to sit, only one chair
- Rosemary (9/5): - A delightful cottage set in an enchanting garden a few steps from the main street of Arrowtown. Great hosts.
- Ariel (10/5): Best place ever - It’s so cute Nothing
- catherine (10/5): Un petit joyau - Pas étonnant qu'il soit cité par le Guardian . Un petit joyau en terme de localisation , de déco et de confort.
On aimerait que ce soit sa propre maison . rien
- Stuart (9/5): -
- Charlie (9/5): - Beautiful flowers garden very relaxing and quiet
- Bruce (9/5): -
- Michelle (9/5): Great location a bit cramped - Great location Bit small
- Cameron (10/5): - Ease of check in and check out Nothing really
- Anouk (9/5): Comfortable pleasant room, with off street parking, 5 mins walk from the centre of town. - Great location. Comfortable well appointed room. The room was a little tight (no clothes storage) - not critical for a one night stay, but not so great if we had stayed longer.
- Robert (10/5): -
- Michelle (10/5): Quaint little cottage in a peaceful and beautiful garden. Easy walk to town. Picturesque spot - Quaint little cottage in a peaceful and beautiful garden. Easy walk to town. Picturesque spot
- Ross (10/5): -
- Karla (10/5): Fairytale setting - Quaintness, secret garden, absolutely gorgeous inside & out, wish we had more than 1 night.
- Katherine (9/5): -
- Kate (8/5): Well presented property conveniently located close to town. -
- Judith (10/5): Loved it all - So quaint
- Lyse (1/5): I left and didn’t stay. - I arrived and was told that there was no key for my room, but it was “safe” to leave my luggage in there while I wasn’t there. It was above the garage, entrance to the outside. The bathroom was downstairs and the beds upstairs. The room was small, with three beds, claustrophobic for me. I wasn’t shown around the property, or given a look at anything else. There was no breakfast included with this room, but I’d think I could have been shown the property which looked nice in the photos but I didn’t get to see. I decided to leave and look for other accomodation, which I found. I left a message at the number provided, that I’d found other accomodation, and wasn’t looking for a refund, but just to let them know. I never got a reply. Nor did they get in touch when they saw I never came back. I hate leaving bad reviews, and rarely do so, but my experience was bad enough that I felt I would this time.
- David (10/5): Luxury and restful - Lovely apartment on ground level with superb covered outside space and table and sofas and hot tub
Most comfortable bed I’ve. Slept in ever
Friendly host

- Angela (8/5): Quaint Arrowtown stay - Lovely setting. Very quaint Arrowtown relaxed feel. Bathroom tight w pump? noise. Couldn’t use our login on Tele.
- justin (10/5): -
- Karyn (9/5): Highly recommend, friendly , warm and cosy, well appointed. - Handy to town, great parking, well appointed. Carpet could do with a clean
- Patrick (9/5): Charming and quiet cottage stay - Comfy and clean stay in a charming little cottage, and a very peaceful place to rest just a short walk from the main strip in Arrowtown. One of the best beds I've slept in in a while. And nice views out to the hills to wake up to.
Yes, a siren went off in the middle of the night at the fire station next door, which the host had warned about - I've read some complaints on here about this, but someone's life being saved is obviously more important than a minor sleep disturbance. If anything, added a bit more charm and intrigue to my stay here, and interesting to learn about these WWII air raid-style sirens being used in NZ!
- Michael (9/5): - Location was great, price was reasonable, clean and Location was convenient. Proprietor was friendly. Bathroom shower drains poorly. By the time water warms, the floor starts to flood.
- Fiona (7/5): -
- Oosthuizen (8/5): -
- Renee (8/5): Absolutely fabulous place to stay for a few nights in Arrowtown. Easy walk to town and quaint little cottage. - Was great little room surrounded by stunning gardens. We didn’t find the bed overly comfortable unfortunately so had trouble sleeping.
- Phil (8/5): - Beautiful setting room was good just a bit small and was missing a toaster
- Anna (10/5): Stunning property with beautiful gardens and a really short walk to the town - the host is lovely and our stay was perfe - Beautiful cottage a bit like the Cotswolds, with rooms on different levels. The owner , who is super welcoming and helpful, has made the rooms very comfortable and the decor is chic country cottage . All amenities provided inside - although our room was compact it was just right for two nights. The garden is absolutely stunning and lots of effort has been made to make the whole house and garden beautiful. Would love to come again!
- Lizbeth (10/5): - The bed was super comfy and I lived the artworks throughout, adding to the ambiance.
- Phoebe (8/5): Comfy, clean, quiet. - Ideal for a short stay, really well located and a nice room which was very clean.
No cooking facilities so not for a long stay if you want to be cooking. Room was a little smaller than expected but not bad at all.
- Gaffey (10/5): Incredible - Everything about this gorgeous place. Nothing.
- Salam (9/5): -
- Dominic (9/5): -
- Louie (10/5): - The private spa and outdoor fireplace were lovely, overall amazing stay and beautiful location. Great value for money Only thing I would note is that if you are planning to sleep on the sofa bed in the deluxe room, the mattress is very uncomfortable and could do with changing to a more comfortable mattress.
- Amanda (10/5): Great location in a beautiful garden setting. - Great location, lovely garden setting, very clean. Could do with a better bed.
- Ken (6/5): Pleasant - The room was lovely but very small. Split level is not 2 storey with toilet bathroom on one floor and bedroom on 2nd, water for jug in bathroom.
At 82 and 80 not expecting to climb multiple steps. Paul was very generous in doing the washing and very grateful. The room very tasteful but expensive for the price. Ascabove
- Peter (8/5): -
- suzanne (10/5): Loved it..wished we had stayed longer ..will be back - Beautiful decor and comfy bed ..loved the outside area - wish we had longer than 1 night Nothing
- Ingrid (9/5): - Beautiful location, very helpful owner with lots of great tips about the area.
- Eric (8/5): -
- Renate (8/5): - Sehr hübsches Cottage, klein aber alles da was man braucht. Wunderbares Frühstück vom sehr netten Besitzer zubereitet. Top Lage.
- Alexandria (7/5): - Cute little lodge, great location close to main street The room is very hot and only 1 small fan to use to cool the room (was warm during our stay). The main let down is the shower, the pressure isn’t really working and there is no door on the shower. You have to make a wall with the towel to stop from flooding the room. We stayed for 3 nights and definitely not worth putting up with this shower and stuffy room
- Chris (8/5): -
- Ctori (10/5): A perfect place to stay! - We loved our stay, the room was perfect, clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. Perfectly located only a short walk to Arrowtown centre but quiet and peaceful. We only stayed one night as we were travelling further, but wished it was longer Nothing
- Scott (10/5): - This cute cottage is beautiful, the room we had was lovely, comfortable, warm and had a beautiful shared sitting area, as well as a couple of chairs under a small private balcony.
The location is great, just a very short walk to the stunning town. Nothing, this guest house is pretty nice.
- Gail (10/5): Perfect (but we did leave a bottle of wine in the fridge!!! Too far on the way home to turn back) - Good location to township Nothing

- Peter (10/5): Blissful, soul soothing and so comfortable we didn’t want to leave. - I can only describe Arrowtown Lodge as sublime. We were entranced by the whole experience and would heartily recommend it to anyone wishing for comfort, privacy and beauty. Can’t think of anything.
- Kate (10/5): Definitely come again. - Loved the proximity to the town of Arrowtown. The cottage was beautiful and cozy, with a spa and an outdoor terrace with fireplace.
- Julie (10/5): We have stayed here previously and would stay again. - Best sleep in years! The location was perfect minutes from town. Enjoyed a glass of wine sitting by the fire.
- Carol (9/5): Superb -
- Matthew (10/5): Exceptional -
- Stephanie (5/5): Passable -
- Brent (8/5): The Lodge is looking a bit tired but a super location and beautiful garden. - Super location, 2 min walk to town centre. Easy parking and Paul is a great host. Our room (Tobins) very small, not private and bed is old & soft. If you want space & privacy choose Rosie’s or Foxes room.
