Guest Reviews
- Marc (4/5): - Le restorant n'est plus en opération.
Coquerelle dans la salle de bains.
Les vitres de la chambre n'ont jamais été laver.
En résumé l'hôtel aurait besoin d'être rénover.
- Mona Laisa (4/5): - So the internet and tv wasn’t working. The place was okay but would not stay there again.
- Bernadeth (10/5): - Very good value
- Verified traveler (6/5): - とにかくシャワーのお湯が出ない。Covid 19 前はに滞在したときはお湯が出てたんだが、シャワーが冷水で良ければ立地は良い方なので使えるホテル。
Anyway, there is no hot water in the shower Anytime. When I stayed there before Covid 19, hot water was available. Its so sad. I dont use this hotel anymore.
- Mitch (2/5): - Bed is small, towels are worn out, front desk are not welcoming always eyeing on you. Cleanliness is okay only one toilet paper a day.
- Ronald (4/5): - Many broken things in the property.
(Door lock, toilet).
Checked out immediately and went to another property.
- Steven (6/5): - My wife and I agree the bed and pillows were very nice, great night's sleep. I wish they provided instant coffee and a kettle for hot water. They do have a hot and cold water machine ou in the hall.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Room was lacking several things we would have liked-- hair dryer, refrigerator. But, the price was good.
- David (8/5): Still doing well - Stayed here a lot walking distance to Gmall and roxas friendly staff no issue with guests. For 27 quid with breakfast for two it's a cheap stay. They were doing maintenance on two floors and said the switch over the bed no longer works in Any room hmmm so it's a pain if you forget to turn off the lights at the door TV channels good choice of English movies too
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It's ok but a bit old
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great place - Cozy place. Central to go-to places in the city
- Charles (6/5): OKidoki!!! - Lobby is best part of hotel and the restaurant, The service is the best thing to look forward to; Hotel not so much.Bed was totally uncomfortable. A couple of roaches were present.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very accommodative
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It was neat and clean and quiet and it's just around the city.
- Redranger (8/5): Been staying here for years - Rooms for a huge large bed it 1400 peso per night, I get the rooms with the split type aircon. Large rooms with very large king size beds. Free internet in the lobby, and JP Laurel is like 20 second walk to find all the malls. I have been staying here for over 10 years now.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Comfortable
- Jennie (8/5): - Nice hotel...at the heart of the city
- Franco (6/5): - Not so good. Strong drip from aircon. Had to transfer to another room. No service water in room.
- Ricardo (4/5): Lousy place to stay - I won’t recommend this hotel to anybody else traveling in Davao city to stay in this hotel,
- Eric (10/5): - Pleasant
- Jeff Bok Hooi (6/5): Outdated Hotel in hardware, food, and service - Room and facilities need upgrading. Door difficult to open! Other restaurants are serving boneless milk fish, but they still serving fish with bones! Never improved with staff aged 50 and above who are slow and unmotivated!
- PerfectlyHuge (6/5): minimalist, good bang for the buck - the place is very near the night market and jeepny lines. very simple amenities and simple breakfast but good enough for the low prices. very near a mall, the pasalubong (aldevinco) center, and the night life.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Excellent breakfast. Good location. Rooms are a little outdated.
- David (8/5): Close to mall - Hotel is a good location near to gmall about 5 mins walk rooms are comfy beds are big staff friendly. My tip add a fridge to your room 100php per day makes it much more enjoyable to have cold drinks. Breakfast is fine but service is slow as ever as staff just watching basket on TV
- sinmiaki (6/5): Average at best. - Stayed there briefly to attend a wedding, even though we live in the city because we don't want to waste gas and time on traveling to and fro. Here's our thoughts.
Cons: Key card did not work at first. Parking is difficult. No toothbrush or slippers.
Pros: Cold Aircon. Helpful Staff. Quiet Room.
- Richard (8/5): - It is ok
- Verified traveler (6/5): OLD Hotel but very clean - Stay was ok, hotel was obviously old, but the room was very clean.
- skip15000 (8/5): Inexpensive, nicely located, friendly - You can get a pretty wide variety of hotels in Davao. From really expensive (where the President stays) to really cheap. Regency Inn is kind of in the middle of the budget pack. The staff is very nice. Clean room. AC. Simple but good. WiFi is free and it works. Location: close to downtown, easy to get a Jeepny (or is it Jeepney) that means an 8 peso ride to the big malls. A nice, LOCAL, chicken place just around the corner. Petty easy to stay here.
- gpweisz (10/5): COMPLITLY SATISFY - Personally as an Italian I have certain claims, I must say therefore, that the location of the hotel is strategic, the reception really exceptional, in particular Mr.Rude (that I have surname Opo Opo), who has scheduled a tour in Davao and surroundings, which satisfied me completely. check with him when you book and you will be satisfied, from the professionalism and honesty. Not least by Mr. Romel who showed me the places to dine and where to buy the things I needed, also satisfied the rest of the hotel team, truly an ideal team.
Note that you have close to two restaurants and a Mall with cheap prices, it is worth trying to believe, I will definitely come back.
- Johan (8/5): - Pretty nice hotel, relatively close to restaurants, shops and bars. Good breakfast included and nice staff.
- Jethro (10/5): American that is very choosy. - Honestly...... Enjoyed...... Great Location....
- wilson (2/5): Not Really Nice - Stinky pillow cases.
Queen bed is two twin bed.
Breakfast is on the other side of the building.
- Arnel (8/5): Nice HOTEL wAlking distance TO MALL. - We'll FROM HOTEL is very accessable TO any kind of rides gpi going to and back to hotel. There's a should have a mini bar inside the room.
- Zachary (10/5): Good hotel but room wasn't clean - Hotel in great condition and good service...my room clearly wasn't cleaned though as there was hair on the floor and cleaning needed in the bathroom...sheets were clean tho
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Unused voucher cannot be used anymore after the checkout (we were out for 1 day and did not have breakfast at the hotel), nor it got refunded.
- pial828 (6/5): Affordable - They offer Clean and Affordable rooms with delightful restaurant beside the hotel., they offer lots of seafood with affordable price..they also have free wifi at the lobby..very accessible and near the airport
- Jennifer (10/5): Very good stay - The hotel and stay was good considering the price. Although the hotel was old, it was able to refurbish and keep the rooms in good condition. The hotel is regulalrly improved.
- james (10/5): Nice hotel near to main Shopping Mall - Friendly n helpful..courteous staff . Attentive and cheerful to assist at all times
- Josephine (8/5): Happy guest! - Overall: It's very good! No complains at all :)
- Ariel (10/5): - We enjoyed our stary, the facilities is nice, clean and quite place!
- MylinM (10/5): Heaven sent - We had a business trip to Davao and this hotel saved us from staying in horrible Aveflor inn. Almost the same rate as the latter, this hotel has the same atmosphere as Seda Hotel. There is no free breakfast however, but they do room service and the food was also good and nakakabusog.
- Marquis0521 (6/5): Fairly good - Its a walking distance from Aldevinco Shopping Mall or the pasalubong center, night market ands its in the heart of the city. Hotel staffs are accommodating. The rooms are ok, pillows are quite flat and not fluffy, hot water/shower needs time to adjust its temperature (i hate waiting) the door lock is not functioning well. Over all its a nice place to stay for budget friendly hotel.
- Robert (6/5): Good value with a few glitches - This property is a bit dated but worth the price. The staff were great and checked me right in. I requested a refrigerator and it was brought promptly to my room. The room is adequate but not spacious. There are a limited number of electrical outlets. The shower stall is quite narrow. My real complaint was with the restaurant. The free breakfast was tasty and filling, but the menu says "juice" so I ordered "orange juice" but was served "orange drink" - like Cool Aid. I asked if the drink was mixed with service water or filtered water and the waiter admitted it was just flavored tap water. Someone needs to train the staff that service water makes foreigners ill. Otherwise it was ok, and I will probably stay there again.
- costelmihaila80 (10/5): Friendly staff - I was staying there 3 weeks. Is a fair price keeping in mind the breakfast is included. Great service provided in restaurant especially by Adrian that was very friendly and promptly helped " Because this is my job sir!" ... ha ha
Also the housekeeper department is organized and willing to help with a 5 star worker's attitude.
At the front desk they do a good job ,especially Trisha that was very professional and friendly.I even asked an extra wardrobe and they acomodat that need.Thank you:)
The rooms are ok.Do not expect the most luxurious bed.For that are other hotel options with a price that will reflect your desired comfort. There is soap and shampoo but that is all in regards of amenities. I would recommend a small writing notebook and a pen , a napkin dispenser-normal things even in a 2 star hotel in the states that charges 35 $ . The dry cleaning option is not available, despite the fact it is "available " on a list of services but there is laundry service near by so the staff will help that to explain.
Overall was a good experience and I will go back there because of the staff that I would like to thank you.
Hope this was helpful.Davao seems to be safe and secure.People are used to see foreigners and are genuinely friendly and approachable.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good for Business Trip - Location is exceptional. Security is tight as well as there are uniformed police officers 24 hours a day. Rooms are big enough considering its value.
Looking forward in booking again!
- DNthdegree (8/5): Good value for money - Stayed here for three nights with some colleagues. We were in Davao on official business and were originally supposed to stay in another hotel, which proved dismal so we went on to find an alternative. Good thing one of my colleagues have been to Davao before and has recommended Regency Inn to us. We called them around 9PM to check if they have rooms available. Luckily, they had two extra rooms free so we checked out of our original hotel and brought our tired bodies over to Regency at around 10PM. We were welcomed by kind staff and were very delighted to find our rooms to be a significant improvement from the one we were originally supposed to stay in. Breakfast were available in-house for affordable prices and were served quickly. Staff were accommodating and our needs/requests were addressed swiftly. Hot water was available for bathing. Bathroom was decent and clean. Hotel is also very near tourist spots like Aldevinco Shopping Center, the Night Market, and other establishments. On top of these, price per room is VERY AFFORDABLE even if you're traveling alone. All in all, I would go back here if ever I return to Davao. Thanks Regency Inn for a great stay experience.
- Edgar (6/5): Regency Inn Experience - Generally, it was a comfortable, quiet and peaceful stay at a very affordable cost!
- Edgar (8/5): convenient and clean hotel - clean, comfortable, quiet and peaceful stay
- evangeline (8/5): Convenient and clean - We enjoyed our stay , the sevice is good , everybody is friendly..the shower is not functioning as it should be..
- Edgar (6/5): Convenient, clean & quiet hotel - Quiet and peaceful stay in not-so-expensive hotel in the city with a very friendly and helpful hotel staff.
- CharleneJoyce (6/5): - The room where we stayed was good for the price. The only thing that bothered me is the musty smell of molds from the furniture including the headboard of the bed. Other than this, the room is all right relative to the price we paid for.
- yolyg2015 (6/5): Worth the money - Stayed for 3 nights in this hotel and its quite worth the money. The hotels is located sin a quite place but near the city, The room was spacious and staff are really nice and helpful. The breakfast was good and service at the restaurant where breakfast is served is quick .
- Deepak (6/5): Good but lacks basic ammenities - Wifi was very bad in my room cannot connect, since many travellers depend on Wifi they should consider to upgrade their Wifi network since its very very bad.
Shower is very very bad the water flow is very less cannot take a decent shower.
- fred (8/5): Fairly clean - Overall staff was frindly. Great free breakfast but having the internet out for 3 days was to long. TV had signal problems much of the time
- zapphiret (8/5): Worth the money - I stayed in this hotel for 7 days. I have the chance to view the room first since i was already in the city before booking it. The room is spacious, two beds and a place for your baggage with a cabinet to hang ur wardrobes. I took the one on the 2nd floor. The hotel was old but it has still a lot of life and the most important to me was a working aircon and the room smells fresh and clean. The aircon make sounds of course but not really that loud just the way an old aircon sounds but it is working fine. You want a quieter one then go book a first class hotel. No cockroaches crawling but i saw one or two egg 😊. The bathroom shows signs of slitage as expected but I am not that critical as long as it is working and no smell. Internet was not working at all but i have the local pocket wifi so i dont mind. It is not often u get a good internet in most of the hotels anyway. I stayed for about 3 weeks in Davao and had also lived in 3 different hotels. This was the week of the harvest festival Kadayawan so all hotels were fully booked. I'll do a review of the other 2 hotels later. Food was not included, i didnt choose since i dont want to get bothered with waking up so i will get my breakfast but the prices of the food in their restaurant was quite fair, just right. I only have tried 2 breakfast during my stay. It is so hard booking on the net not seeing the actual room. Most of the time u will land in a smelly room and then u have to complain bla bla bla. Oh the staff was very helpful and accommodating. Tips were of course a must but i am a local so they dont expect so much of me😀. Ok overall i am quite satisfied with my stay. I can think of booking this hotel again. You should specify in ur message that u want a smoke and smell free room so u have the chance to complain if it was not to ur satisfaction. Ok good luck then
- Archelle (8/5): Good place to stay - Me and my partner were happy during our stay staffs are very good and helpful,we loved it and its good value good food malls and good restaurants are just around the corner.surely we will stay again
- Jackylou (4/5): - We stayed here for 17 nights and the WiFi connection is sucks its comes and go just like the cable tv. The restaurant doesn't serve a good food. As a vegetarian we cannot eat anything. Cleanliness must be improve. The staffed is friendly. The area of the hotel is real bad.
- joseabrianc (4/5): Small and Expensive - It was the day before New Year of 2016 when I decided to wander around Davao and I must say... It was one of my favorite cities visited so far... But the cost of an inn was very expensive for a single room... I should probably look for new place next time. A place that is ideal for the backpacker and budget friendly...😊
- anne (8/5): Not bad at all for the price you pay - The bed was comfortable i wish there was 4 pillows. My stay was nice overall. The staff was nice the room was clean. However their cable and wifi was bad the entire 3 nights i stayed. But i would still recommended it!
- Verified traveler (6/5): very accessable to the city .. secured parking - Its a very worth the price hotel. safety parking. peaceful and quit as well.
- Arshad (8/5): Arsh - Like the room very clean and comfortable
- Verified traveler (6/5): So so hotel with unhelpful staff - Not a very helpful staff. Couldn't even get drinking water from them.
- mappletree (6/5): For the Reason I am in, its an OK hotel - For the business reason we are in, Regency is the perfect hotel.
Literally few steps away.
The hotel is old yet classy. It is in a business street where there are a lot of stores for motorcycle/car parts.
It reminds me of those hotels way back year 2000's .
They are located in Poblacion, which is 2 corners away from Gmall--Gaisano mall. You can literally walk that close.
For the price, is a bit expensive no breakfast but they have a restaurant next door and its really good
Bedroom is clean huge/spacious, for matrimonial 2 beds where put together, small lcd tv-cable,working aircon which is good.
Sheets needs to be upgraded, Bathroom is clean and we enjoyed the hot shower.
The downside is the elevator, its literally old and slow. WIFI is the....no connection. We have to keep calling and asking them to reset and fixed their router which the F/O were nice enough to help us..but still its intermittent!
Staff, some of them specially the guy in F/O forgot his name but he was very nice helpful every time we ask direction he is always there to assist..We can see his been doing this for a long time. Some of the staff rude specially the guys are not friendly or wont even open the elevator for you...the housekeeping (girls) they were courteous.
Over all, for the same reason I am in I will be back hopefully WIFI is stable. If you don't have any business around that area. try other hotels...
- Mayrettin (4/5): Not recommended - Basically a 1 star hotel that is in need of a major renovation.
Sheets too small for the bed shower scary looking and the towels were very old raggy looking.I spend a lot of time in the Philippines this is not a good hotel.....if you can get this hotel for 800P then your ok...
- Jasmin (10/5): - Staffs were friendly and accommodating. Food was great.
- MushPanjwani (6/5): Ok when on a budget! - Cheap hotel, almost in the center of the city. Very average rooms. Bathroom is tiny and barely functional. No power outlets near the bed. Breakfast/cafe is across the street. Laundry is outsourced so no express service. Wifi works!
Unlikely to come back.
- dennisjrc (6/5): A good/decent hotel - It is a good and decent hotel with a good value for your money. With friendly and accommodating hotel staffs. Near the hotel lobby, there's this resto cafe with good and affordable food . Their adobo rice meal is delicious. The hotel is also near to a Massage parlor, for those who want to relax.
- iluvursmiles (6/5): My Davao Business Hotel - I travel 6 times a year to Davao. I stay here at Regency Inn. It is my home away from home. The staff are friendly once you get to know them. There are many seminars and weddings that are being held in their function rooms so the hotel is sometimes fully booked.
They have some newly renovated rooms with small lcd tv and bathroom fixtures. The corridors and the rooms are a bit dimly lit. So if you like bright rooms in the mornings, you better choose the one with windows so you can just open the curtains and let the sunshine in.
The room prices are currently on sale so it is quite cheap at around P1k for single to P1,300 for twin. They have promo Filipino breakfast for just P99 for in-house guests.
- WomanWander (6/5): Could use some renovation - I have a mixed opinion about this hotel so I'll present the positive and negative points.
Let's start with the positives...
1. The hotel is located in the downtown area close to a shopping mall (Gaisano) but the street itself is not busy so noise is minimal.
2. For the price of 1,500 pesos (around 38 USD; promo rate by the way), you get a mid-sized room for 2 persons. Breakfast not included
3. The hotel is quite old but I like that they add some furnishings to update the room such as the rain tree shower and flat screen TV
4. Booking a room is easy, no need to give your credit card details or pay a reservation fee. Check-out process is quick too
Negatives
1. One of the pillows smell not to mention the shower curtain
2. Bathroom is quite small
3. Hallways and rooms do not have enough lighting
4. I couldn't find a single available electrical outlet to charge my mobile phone. I had to unplug the TV to free an outlet
5. The TV should come with instructions on how to operate it. It took me several minutes before I figured how to turn it on, and when I did, the reception was not clear. So much for entertainment.
- CuriousGeorge45 (4/5): Poor Service - This hotel is located approximately 1 block from the Giasano Mall on J.P.Laurel Ave.
I arrived at 5pm and had to wait 45 minutes for a room. The front desk staff were surly and uncommunicative. Then the electronic room key they have me did not work. When that issue was fixes, the (different) electronic key to turn on the electricity in the room did not work. In total, it took over two hours before I had my room.
The room itself was clean and everything worked. The walls were painted in a horrible shade of blue. Unfortunately there were very few electrical outlets. The bathroom was also clean and in good working order. Plenty of hot water available in the separate shower stall.
Internet service in my room was extra and was unreliable. Worked only about 40% of the time I stayed in the hotel. For some reason, the restaurant was closed during my stay.
My recommendation - look elsewhere for a hotel in Davao.
- jlpcruz04 (10/5): Good Location - My Wife and I stayed here as part of our honeymoon in Davao City. The location of the hotel is very accessible to every Davao City has to offer. You could take a Jeep to explore the City. Taxi services are very reliable. I could also say that taxi drivers in Davao is the best in the business as compared with the taxi drivers in NCR.
