Guest Reviews
- Carder (8/5): I had a great stay . Staff was friendly. Room was clean . - How close it was to beach and restaurants. Well needed more activities
- Jennifer (1/5): -
- OCSurf508 (8/5): Friendly Location - Friend and I stayed here while attending a concert in North San Diego. There isn't a whole lot of places that are within walking distance, but there are a ton of places just a short drive away. The California Surf Museum, Oceanside Museum of Art and The Top Gun house are just a few of the many points of interest. Rooms are very lavish and have everything you would need for any length of stay.
- Jorgesen (8/5): Oceanside was beautiful as always. Can't wait to go back. - Easy access to Oceanside Harbor shops and restaurants.
Nice pool area with a big hot tub. Rooms are clean, but sparsely decorated.
- Jennifer (10/5): - I love this place! My only problem was dirty floors in the condo. No one sweep before we checked in. Also the dirty sink in the bathroom was gross. But overall a great location and amazing staff.
- Victoria (10/5): - This is our second year vacationing at this resort. With our grandson and family. The staff was friendly and helpful to us. We would recommend this resort to our family and friends.
- RUDY A (10/5): - The staff was super friendly down to the cleaning crew. Unit was clean and had every amenity including range, full size fridge, barbeque grill on balcony, and utensils! We highly recommend for families.
- Alice (8/5): - Great location for privacy and accessibility to restaurants.
- Suzanne (10/5): - The property was well kept and clean. Plenty of space and supplies in the room. The area was safe and close to the beach. Convenient access from the freeway. Great place to stay!
- Jean (10/5): - It was very good service.very clean, good price per night and we will be back
- Jean (10/5): World mark - It was very clean got checked in earlier than we planned and everybody was friendly and courteous to us while we stayed for 4 days we will be coming back give visit
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great family spot
- Jeremy (10/5): - Close to the beach and lots of nearby restaurants
- John Scott (6/5): - If you can avoid the Free Gift sales tour, it is a nice place to stay. They tried real hard to get me on a tour aka sales meeting.
- Newlyretired531 (8/5): Decent place to stay in Oceanside - Nice location, no pressure to attend the sales pitch. Room was not ready when promised which was 4 PM. Finally got in at 5. Staff were friendly but lacked knowledge of most questions asked. Rooms have recently been updated but we did have an ant problem I. Master bath and kitchen.
- Tracy (4/5): - The room definitely not worth $400 a night.
- Daniel (4/5): Not worth the money - Location Maintenance issues also charged me 15.00 extra dollars for some undisclosed tax
- Steven (9/5): Excellent experience. I will stay here again. -
- jt85338 (6/5): You can do better - Located on Oceanside Harbor. Unfortunately, it is also located near rail tracks and a freeway. If you are expecting a quiet costal retreat, this isn’t it.
Units have recently undergone a major refresh. If you’re anticipating a “costal” feel with design choices you will be disappointed, there is no costal charm, a couple prints of Oceanside are not enough to counterbalance the other design choices made. The color scheme for the unit is very cold and better suited to a cosmopolitan inner-city location than a beachside location.
Staffing is professional and welcoming.
Housekeeping continues to be poor, dirt already building up in the floor corners, dust on art and door frames. A damp paper towel wiped on the center of the floor came up gray. Standards similar to Wyndham’s Super 8
Amenities include Workout room, game room, pool, hot tub, basketball and sports court.
As a timeshare you will most likely be offered a gift to attend an update or sales presentation. Sales reps tend to make
statements that are true, however worded in a way that may give the wrong impression. If its not in writing don’t believe it
- Jennifer (8/5): - Great property!! Only downside was waiting until almost 6:00pm for our room to be ready. Check in was supposed to be at 4:00pm.
- Sonia (10/5): - Perfect place to go when you have kids. Pool area is great, and my son loved the basketball court. Nice walk to the beach through the pier.
- Caron (10/5): - The staff are pleasant and helpful. The rooms are remodeled, fresh and clean. I would definitely return for another stay at the Wyndham properties.
- Paula (9/5): Had a comfortable and enjoyable stay with extended family for a couple nights. - The bed was very comfortable and the condo was well laid out with a well stocked kitchen for simple meals. Location was good too and within walking distance of the harbor and beach. The push to attend a 60 to 90 minute sales presentation.
A rack for hand towels would be a good addition.
- 922dougg (8/5): Beautiful property - This property is outstanding. All condos have been beautifully remodeled. BBQ grills on every patio, walk to the beach. I loved my stay with one major exception: an aggressive and homophobic salesman from the timeshare office demanded that my husband and I produce our wives because he didn't understand two men could be married. What a jerk. Oh well, you can't fix stupid.
- donnatB4606CD (2/5): No trust with this resort - Firstly we couldn’t find fault with this property and I did give very positive feedback from the email they sent me after we checked out. After staying here our family which consisted of 9 people moved on to Lego land which was 15 minutes away. Approximately 9:45pm the day we checked out I remembered I had left 5 presents which were wrapped in purple paper , 3 cards which had very personal messages in them and candles and a birthday badge. These gifts were for our 12 year old Grandaughters 12th birthday . I rang reception and explained I had left the gifts in the top drawer in the bedroom. I was told that nothing had been handed in but she will check in the morning and have someone ring me at 9am. I didn’t hear anything so I rang again at midday to be told some things had been handed in. I was so grateful and thank him. I went to reception at 5:30pm to pick up the gifts, as I walked back to the car I noticed in the plastic bag it felt very light so I had a look and there were only 2 items in the bag. I went back in and asked where were the rest of our items. I was told that was all that was handed in. I asked if anyone had checked into our room after us and I was told No. I said then where is everything else, Someone had opened all the gifts and left one gift in tact and a small box which had been sealed with some fidget rings in it. The lid was missing and so were some rings. I received no answers. I was told they would talk to head of house keeping. We still have heard nothing from this hotel and all I can say is you left us all heartbroken. Especially our 3 granddaughter who have been through hell and back.
We have contacted the Australian Worldmark office who were absolutely devastated for us and they are still yet to hear from you .
My husband and I have guardianship of our 3 Grandaughters as our daughter (their mum) was killed last year by their father by domestic violence. This holiday (we are from Australia) was to be a making memories holiday and to put some happiness into their lives. Once again the girls have lost trust in people.
- April (9/5): Superb -
- ??????? (10/5): - very good hotel.
- Roswitha (10/5): - Perfect
- Timothy (10/5): - Came here to get that near the beach resort vibe and got exactly that. View was good and location was nice. The resort was being remodeled at the time of stay so this is my opinion of when it was in that condition. Finding the parking and lobby entrance was confusing even with gps but ended up finding it. The staff were friendly and the wrist bands are a lifesaver especially with a lot of luggage. The lobby however was small but pretty sure it was in a temporary spot due to construction. The garage however was probably my least favorite. It was dark and felt scary. Hopefully they will be renovating it as well . Moving to the room it was amazing beat my expectations of what a room should be. We got a 1 bed room suite and it was so modern it felt like a high rise LA apartment. The room was bright and had amazing furnitures. the kitchen had electric stove tops and a island for cooking. The floor was wood so no need to worry about carpet except for the room. The cleanliness was top tier, they take their time cleaning. As a person in my mid 20s it was perfect for both the older and younger party crowd. Food spots near by also makes it convenient if you get hungry late night. Overall best 1 bedroom suit i ever stayed in and i been to a lot. Can’t wait to return when construction is finished and the property is at it’s best!
- Ronnie (10/5): Will definitely coming back. I was looking to book again for May 24 thru 27 but no availability - Clean and friendly staff
- Eduardo (10/5): Exceptional -
- Agnieszka (10/5): We had great time in this place with so many activities - Beautiful 2 bedroom apartment with 2 bathroom and kitchen .Everything included(plates, mugs and pans for cooking etc..)Tv in every room with great channels and movies.Balcony with grill.Beds very comfortable and everything very clean.Heated pool and hot tub.Tennis, basketball playground 🛝 .In the lobby few more games to spend time with whole family.Walking distance to the beach.(10minutes)Staff members very nice and helpful. Nothing it was great stay.
- Rogel (10/5): - Excellent Stay!
- George (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anna (10/5): - I love that it had all the comforts of home.
- Kathlyn (10/5): - Loved the updated rooms and the pool was nicely heated and the game room looked fun. The elevators need maintenance and during my check in, it was storming outside and there was a leak in a light in the ceiling and there was just a bucket catching the water.
- Christoher (8/5): Very good -
- Avery (8/5): Very good - The place is in a good area and the rooms are nice. The staff was friendly and helpful. Great place for families. The people above us were very loud and stayed up all night making impossible to sleep.
- Julie (8/5): - I loved the spacious condo and having a full kitchen. Price was excellent for the amenities. I didn't appreciate the high pressure sales to attend a time share presentation.
- DAVID (6/5): - This property is not a hotel. It's an old uninteresting time share with unsold or unused units which sells rooms by the day. Parts are under renovation. My room was recently painted and clean, but did not have an ounce of personality. The lobby was drab and the check in process includes pressure to hear a time share presentation. The location is near the fences of Camp Pendelten with shabby, temporary buildings and the day/night noisy I-5 is a stones throw distant. There's an extra charge if you want wifi, and no breakfast facilities on site. This is definitely not a 9.2 level hotel. I'd call it a mid-7 at the most.
- Nick456gmail (8/5): Nice Stay - 6 days ago on Google
Resort is nice. Surroundings are not super classy. Staff are very very nice and helpful. That really stood out. Room was good had everything we needed. WIFI small fee but good service. We were charged $99 to change my name as person checking in to my wife's name checking in which was ridiculous. I informed GM 6 weeks in advance. And was told on phone from Wyndham representative (Rhaylene) that fee would be waived but they outright lied. That issue speaks to the nature of Wyndham. We did have a lovely vacation. The beach is walking distance but the beaches here are not nice like Carlsbad. They seem a little dirty. The harbor is fun and nice though. My wife was annoyed with the concierge staff she felt like they were facing the pool and it made her feel uneasy. Lots of good stuff a few things not so good.
- Roxanne (9/5): Wonderful, clean and comfortable stay.. - I loved it There wasn’t anything other than I wish there were more options for 1-2 bedroom
- Rosalie (10/5): - Newly renovated rooms so it’s clean
- mikemT8078CS (2/5): Racially profiled - I had been to this location many times before and never had any issues before today. I checked in with my girlfriend and after a couple hours, went downstairs past lobby looking for my lost door dash driver. After walking around parking lot, I found my food left against some wrought iron gate. I came out of unit an hour later to get drinks when am employee comes up to me to ask me if the picture on his phone is of me......to my shock it was....apparently someone said I was looking inside windows as though I was trying to steal something. I am a platinum owner and there is nothing worse than a thief! However I am bald headed and Mexican so I guess it was ok for worldmark to assume I was a criminal. I showed this guy my card key and my wristband, he apologized. As I'm walking towards my unit I see a security guard side eying me so I stop him and ask if he has seen any pics of me with accusations...apparently he has...I show him that my key card works.......finally I was so upset and humiliated I go to lobby to speak to the manager and ask what is going on. I am told another owner complained that I was looking in cars and looked "suspicious " . I hate to play the racist card because it's cheap but it applies. I told the manager earlier I was out there looking for door dash and she said nothing. I will never book another night her again and if you are a minority, I would think twice about it too. Would you want pictures of you circulated amongst the employees of you like you are some lowlife???
- Debbie (8/5): Very good -
- F1695IO (6/5): Would I stay here again? Maybe… - As Marriott owners, we are accustomed to their properties so the WorldMark was a bit of a departure for us. Here’s our take.
The good:
Staff is excellent, beds are very comfortable, decent shower pressure and the fireplace is nice. Views are good from the higher floors and each patio has a bbq. Kitchen is well equipped with appliances in good working order. Generally clean but could use some attention to detail. Top load/stacked washer/dryer whipped out clean/dry clothes in a flash. There also seems to be plenty of room at the pool (no chair hogging) even though it’s a holiday week. The playground/basketball/ tennis areas are well kept and suitable for very young kids to teens. The entire outdoor recreation area is fenced and felt very safe. Ample parking in the garage with spaces wide enough to actually get out of the car easily.
The not so great: Location is debatable. Very close to the marina and a smaller beach but a bit of a haul to the pier. It’s also between a freeway and a railroad track, so there is some noise and the aesthetic is not great. It’s dated and the rooms are showing their age (but renovations are coming soon). Noise, again, is an issue with some units or groups at the pool blaring music (couldn’t always tell where it was coming from). Thankfully, that seemed to end by 9 or 10, presumably when the revelers ventured into town. Only one elevator was working, so could be a bit of a wait. Since it is small, there is nothing for older kids to explore without going off property (which I would not recommend they do alone since the crowd at the beaches can be a little on the rough side.)
Overall, I could see this as a good value for those with younger kids who want to let them explore and keep them close at the same time (e.g. let your 9 year old play basketball while you hang out on the balcony kind of thing). It’s at a lower price point than other stays in the area which makes it more accessible, particularly for families who need more than one room and prefer to eat in. The rooms on the west side are likely quieter because the freeway noise is blocked by other hotels behind the complex.
So would I stay again? Maybe. I wouldn’t “highly recommend” it but I wouldn’t tell someone not to stay here either. I would book again if it was the best option at the time but it wouldn’t be my first choice. After it’s renovated, it could be a gem for the right traveler. Just depends what your looking for!
- Sightseer55585039556 (4/5): It’s allright… - Felt like a cheap hotel. Stayed in a 1 bedroom suite. We are used to Hyatt, Marriott, Hilton, and Disney villas and this site isn’t on the same par in regards to quality. The staff, however, were very nice and the cool thing about our room was the bbq grill on the balcony.
- travelingwfun (6/5): WorldMark Oceanside “Harbor” - Let’s start with the positives. We enjoyed our ocean view from the room, along with a pleasant pool view, added a touch of serenity to our stay. Being on a high floor allowed for a better vantage point to enjoy the surrounding beauty. The floor layout of the room was well-designed and contributed to a comfortable and enjoyable experience. Additionally, the staff at this location were outstanding—always welcoming guests with friendly smiles and greetings, which enhanced the overall hospitality.
However, there were some aspects that needed improvement. Both the interior and exterior of the property appeared outdated and in need of refreshing. Upgrading the televisions, kitchen appliances, kitchen cabinets, and giving the bathrooms a complete makeover would greatly enhance the overall experience for guests. It’s worth noting that the staff did mention that a complete renovation is scheduled to begin within the next six months to a year, which is an encouraging sign of the management’s commitment to enhancing the property.
I look forward to returning after the renovations to experience the property at its best.
- Culture21437563280 (2/5): What happened to SERVICE? - Consider that it is a place that there is no housekeeping past 5 pm.
I called to get blankets for my 80 year old with a bad back and the lady at front desk just says that I don't have blankets!
We had to go back and forth till she magically found a blanket!
We had to go and pick it up from her downstairs.
I am a wyndham member who pays monthly maintenance fees and housekeeping and that is how I am treated.
Also, the worst quality toilet paper is another thing you will experience.
Hope this helps with your decision regarding stay and becoming a member of this system.
- Joeie (6/5): Large units, some views, but needs a remodel - We were in a three bedroom unit that was spacious both inside and also outside on the patio…and the main positive of the unit. This is the third time we’ve stayed here over the past five years and it was very noticeable this time that it’s in need of a remodel. The second bathroom and kitchen especially needs a full reno. The vinyl kitchen countertops are chipped off on the surface. In the second bathroom, the toilet seat was a different shade than the toilet.
The washer and dryer in our room were not working properly with the dryer leaking water as seal was visibly broken and not drying clothes. Maintenance did replace it the next morning with another unit.
They try to sell you hard here on a timeshare presentation when you check in, which I find ironic given the state of the units. We are not owners but a family member is and I would never consider buying into Worldmark, given the condition of these condos.
There is potential for this property to be a great spot once a full remodel happens.
- sandybudziszewskis (10/5): Ocean views - We had a pleasant stay at WorldMark Oceanside Harbor. Our unit was well kept and we had excellent views of the pool area and ocean. The location was perfect for walks to the beach and access to several nice restaurants on the harbor.
- DV1950 (10/5): VICTOR CASTRO (GENERAL MANAGER) SAVED THE DAY. - We stayed last weekend for 3 great days at the beach. We arrived early as we allways do 10:30 am. Check out is 10am, we asked the young lady at the desk if they were full the previous night, she said yes! every room was used. As it was 10:30am most checking out that day, had done so. We requested she contact house keeping to clean our room next if no body was waiting. We went for a walk and returned about an hour later. On our return, we were informed our room was still not ready, but was bieing serviced. We said great, "so about a half hour" The reply was no 4pm. We last stayed here back in March and went through the same thing waiting over 3 and a half hours. As we waited the General Manager V ictor Castro came out of his office said hello, so we asked him about the situation. He took over the runing of the front desk himself sent the staff in his office for a quick meeting, and 10 mins later told us we were good to go! Thank you Victor. We could un pack fill the ice chest and hit the beach. We had a great 3 day stay, it seems that all the rooms have a fantastic ocean view. After a full day at the beach we could shower, open a bottle of wine, enjoy the ocean view, and put a couple of steaks on the BBQ!!!!! then watch a movie. CD/DVD player, plus 1 HBO chanel and 1 Showtime. Full kitchen everything you need. If you prefer to go out, lots of choices, we are there for the beach. The rooms are startng to show their age, however we were told a redo is in the works. The pool area/play area looked great but we didn't ues it. All in all a perfect 3 day beach getaway after the rocky start.
- Momof2boys22020 (10/5): LEGOLAND Trip - The staff is very friendly at this hotel! They are polite and helpful!
The rooms are beautiful! So much space!!!
Just a joyful trip!
The pool is very nice also!
Short walk to the pier. Many choices for dinner there!
- DV1950 (6/5): NEEDS WORK. - We stayed last weekend for 3 days at the beach. We have stayed at the Wyndham Pier Resort before, which is fantastic. But thought we would give this a try, for a change. We arrived early as we hate to waste our first day. Check out is at 10am, the front desk confirmed our 1 bed roomed had been vacated. We requested they contact housekeeping to clean our room next if nobody else was waiting. We waited, and waited. and waited. We asked a few times at the desk how much longer? After waiting THREE AND A HALF HOURS!!!!! we got our room keys. The room design is good, but the rooms are very dated, and not so clean. We did have a fun 3 day weekend, but in all honesty it was not even close to the great friendly experiance at the the Pier Resort. The fridge has an ice maker and you lift the lever for it to make ice, problem was water then leaked into the fridge and the following morning everything we had put in there was soaking wet. One shampoo, and one coffee pack, for 2 people for 3 days? Never saw a houskeeping person to ask for more the whole 3 days we were there. ( maybe that's why we waited three and a half hours to get into a vacated room ) All in all it is just OK but not great. Stay at the Pier Resort untill they bring this up to expectations.
- nicolidp (10/5): Great location for families with small children very responsive customer service - This was a great experience. A short walk to the harbor with a variety of nice restaurants and shops. Also the beach was wonderful and easy to walk to walking there with my kids took about 5-10 minutes. We drove into San Diego and did Sea World and the San Diego Zoo. We also went to LEGOLAND which was very close by. The customer service was great every time we called the front desk our issue was resolved promptly. My family very much wants to come back again.
- uplcmnm (6/5): A nice resort with some serious flaws. - This is a nice facility in an excellent location. However, housekeeping/cleaning service is serious lacking. We had a towel in the bathroom, with fresh blood stains. No shower curtain in the bathroom, which was odd. floors were dirty and grimy. Also, a smoker in the room below us ruined out ability to enjoy the ocean view from the balcony. Be prepared for pushy, deceitful staff, trying to get you to schedule an appointment for the high pressured sales talk. I declined the talk and they called my room 3 times over the next couple days. They called up until the night before we left. The pool area and pool are kept clean and safe from covid contamination.
I spent many family vacations here with my children, which were all excellent experiences. I hadn't visited in 7 years. I was surprised at the poor changes.
- joannemariep2020 (8/5): Lovely resort, nearly ruined by pushy sales people on site - Our vacation experience was severely soured by the pushy salespeople. They called our hotel room every day, even though I personally told them I am not interested, I do not want to interact with them or to be disturbed during my trip. We have been owners for well over 10 years. We stay at various Worldmark properties multiple times throughout the year to take a break from the stress of our everyday life. Starting our visit with a high-anxiety level in an effort to stop the sales people from interacting with us is counterintuitive. Our level of anxiety was raised every day, and this is simply unacceptble. In a time when many hotels offer contactless check-in, the assistance to interact with the salespeople in addition to the in-person front desk check-in is especially appalling.
This is a lovely resort in a good location - less than a half-mile walk to the harbor restaurants and to the nice and clean Oceanside Harbor Beach where you can be sure to catch a beautiful sunset nearly every day. The front desk staff is friendly and helpful, and in an effort to offset the negativity of the pushy salespeople we felt they tried their best to make us feel welcome and appreciated. The pool is nice, clean and a pleasure to be in. During the pandemic, a reservation for a 2-hour window is required ahead of time to ensure only a maximum number of people are in the pool area at any given time - which makes it a nice relaxing experience. At the time of this writing, the jacuzzi was still closed, and the playground was still closed.
We had a 1-bedroom, 1 bath unit with a balcony that overlooked the pool and we could see parts of the beach and ocean off in the distance. The bed was comfortable, the family living space was spacious, and the kitchen was in a good location. However, the appliances were clearly old and in need of replacing - this included the dishwasher which was stained inside, and the door nearly fell to the floor each time we loaded the bottom shelf; and the microwave, which appeared to be dated. Otherwise, everything else in the unit was very nice and we would certainly consider returning to this resort time and time again - if only the pushy sales force could be avoided. Unfortunately, they simply ruin our stay by adding a large element of anxiety to what should be a relaxing getaway experience.
- cmoonlite (8/5): Nice quick getaway near beach & harbor - We have previously stayed at numerous Worldmark & Wyndham hotels. Our number one criteria always - but ESPECIALLY during this pandemic, is to stay in clean accommodations with good customer service. I personally look at reviews that are current, that address the hotel environment in terms of my personal safety, social distancing protocols, amenities, etc. We stayed in a spacious, very clean 1 bedroom, (2nd floor unit with a large balcony) that overlooked the pool area (1 pool opened but not the kiddie pool or jacuzzi). There were several cabanas and many chairs. Beyond the pool we could see the harbor, train tracks. The hotel wasn't any noisier than other hotels. The hotel had the necessary Covid-19 protocols and social distancing in place; we were appreciative. Our room had a full kitchen, living room/small table area, a kitchen island and bar stools, bedroom with king bed; 2 tvs total. The mattress was super comfortable. We took a 15 minute walk to the Oceanside Pier one day, and another day along the nearby Oceanside harbor( 5 minute walk) . that was surprisingly large, with various restaurants, boats, and busy with people using recreational water items (kayaks, boats, paddle board, etc.) We even saw some pelicans and a seal lounging on the docks. Parking is underground & free. Being Wyndham owners, we did attend a time share update and yeah, they always try to get you to upgrade or buy something, but that's their job. We appreciated the updates. We plan on returning.
