• Jochen (3/5): Very negative experience. - First, they asked for a payment at arrival (which is OK). I explained I would do it in 2 hours, for private reasons, but he did not accept. After long negotions, they finally accepted. But they were not very friendly. It was treated like if I would steal something from them.... Then, I wanted to bring a friend into the room, at around 21h30 in the evening. They refused at the entrance gate and treated her like a prostitute (she's a PhD!). I asked to call the owner, who also refused; even thought I calmly explained the situation. I have been to many hotels in my life: This one is certainly OK - but the friendliness and client-centredness which one would expect, was completely missing. Better go to other places like Joli Guest House or Hotel Cardoso, where there is a culture of "hospitality". I do not recommend.

• Anna (8/5): Lovely location, lovely place - The location is good, close to all the amenities. The staff were friendly and ready to help with information on where to visit. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The place felt so homely, the verandah upstairs had lovely views and offered a serene ambience. The hosts also went out of their way to arrange a pick up taxi from the airport for a large family, and even helped to negotiate the price. This was very appreciated. I wish the staff would notify the guests in advance what time their room would be cleaned. We went for breakfast and left all our valuables, cash and passports laying around, only to get back and realized someone had entered and cleaned. We had locked and taken with us the key as we went upstairs for breakfast, we didn't think the staff would have access without asking us. This was quite scary and we imagined it could have been a disaster if any of the items would have gone missing.

Par contre les deux nuits furent bruyante car un bebe dans une autre chambre pleuré toutes les nuits ... pas de vue de notre chambre. Mais pour deux nuits ce ne fut pas trés grave. la chambre était tres bien . La literie impeccable.

• Christine (10/5): Mein Lieblingshotel in Maputo, zentral, super Service und großartiger Blick über die Bucht - Ich bin regelmäßig im Guest House zu Gast, der Service ist immer sehr gut. Das Personal ist freundlich und hilfsbereit, das Frühstück sehr gut und reichhaltig. Die Betten sind bequem und das Wlan zuverlässig. Die gemeinsam genutzte Terrasse ist mein persönliches Highlight, mit einem großartigen Blick über die Bucht und der Möglichkeit, dort zu entspannen oder auch zu arbeiten (Steckdosen etc. vorhanden). Die Lage ist sehr zentral und sicher, mehrere Restaurants und Supermärkte sind auch fußläufig zu erreichen. Teils hört man den Großstadtlärm ein bisschen, aber dafür ist die Lage auch sehr zentral.

• Paula (9/5): Superb - The location of the property is great, close to nice areas in Maputo and restaurants. The staff was kind and helpful with all the requests that we had. The bed was not comfortable because it was too hard but the staff assisted in adding some blankets to make it comfortable. The breakfast was simple yet diverse so we started our days in a great way. The rooms are made daily and kept very clean. Would definitely come back!
• Damian860402 (6/5): Pleasant - Location, comfortable bed, fresh products for breakfast, overall the room was comfortable, the pool was clean and the terrace spacious, fully secured and safe. Good wifi. Behind the terrace there is a garbage dump and when sunbathing there are a lot of flies. Next door there is a restaurant and it can be very noisy. My room no. 7 was on the side of the car wash and car repair shop so there was noise all day long. Unfortunately the hotel rules are not transparent. Hidden behind the lamps are regulations that you cannot drink your own drinks on the terrace, only those bought from the fridge in the hotel. Which was strange because the first three evenings I drank two beers and no one told me anything, and then a problem arose. No possibility to invite friends to the room, guests can only be in the common areas. I understand the security but don't overdo it to take away the privacy of someone close (I'm not talking about a guest staying overnight, but about a visit during the day). In addition, I received an indecent proposal from an employee (I have proof screenshots from WhatsApp, which I shared because it started with an offer of a city tour, and later there was talk of sex also in the hotel room) and when I announced that I did not pay for such meetings, the man was arrogant. There are a lot of contrasts in this place and I will never choose this place again, despite the positive aspects. Your answer in point 5 is untrue. As I wrote, I have screenshots of his messages. What you write was the opposite. I understand that the guy is afraid of losing his job, but he was the one who talked me into sex, not me into him. I will allow myself to post screenshots of his messages. Forgive me, but I wrote the truth and you are lying or he deceived you.I was texting him and we planned a sex date and it's simply true that your employee did it. I'm only posting a fragment of that conversation because I have nothing to hide.

• Sunil (9/5): Very Comfortable for a Short Stay - The room was small but comfortable enough for the price, the staff are very helpful and polite, the breakfast fare was simple but tasty and there is a nice pool to laze in and a nice relaxation area in the property as well. The best part is all the key sights of Maputo are within walking distance The complimentary water bottle is a small half litre one and the WiFi in the room I had chosen was very spotty. Other than that it's all good.

It was my second time to stay in Guesthouse 1109 and if I need accommodation in Maputo again, I will definitely choose Guesthouse 1109. I had loud room neighbours and even though there is recommendation for silence in hotel common areas, it was quite noisy.

The Guesthouse Team were very friendly and helpful, I felt very welcome. The Guesthouse is centrally located for exploring the city and in a quiet area. The rooms were both great, very good wifi, even with a fridge and kettle so you could make tea and coffee. The shower had warm water and there was a bottle of water every day. In addition to the delicious breakfast, there was also a small common area with a kitchen. I would come back, clear recommendation*** Everything was good, nothing to complain about

• Donovan (10/5): Hidden Gem - Everything about this guesthouse was perfect,from staff was very nice and super accommodating, ,the unit was very comfortable,not one bad thing i could complain about,,the pool was the best,very well looked after and maintained.,this guesthouse is close to everything,if you looking for value for money and a good comfortable stay,then this is definitely the one for you. Nothing to dislike
