There is a nice beach right in front of the hotel, and the center of Mirissa is only about a 5-minute tuk-tuk ride away. • Claudia (8/5): Entspannter Aufenthalt - Gepflegtes Hotel mit sauberen und großen Zimmern, das von einem Belgier geleitet wird. Das Frühstück war gut. Der Pool war sauber. Poolhandtücher lagen bereit, waren allerdings nach dem Waschen noch feucht und deshalb unangenehm beim darauflegen. Es war herrlich ruhig, was den Aufenthalt sehr angenehm machte. Eine Fahrt ins belebte Mirissa dauerte max. 10 Min mit dem Tuktuk und kostete 500-1000 LKR. Der Strand war etwas enttäuschend, weil Baden aufgrund der Felsen/Steine und starken Brandung nicht möglich war. Das hatten wir anders erwartet. Die direkte Umgebung des Hotels war wenig ansprechend.
• Katalin (9/5): Perfect location for a peace and quite environment in front of a beautiful beach - Very good location, peace and quiet. Only 9 rooms, so this is a small hotel. Untouched beach with golden sand. The breakfast was amazing with fresh fruits every day. I could try the local spiny lobster, seer fish and soursop juice. Mr Marnix was a great host and finally we got European standard service. The smile of the waiters were fake, not genuine - I see because I uses to work in hospitality industry. Some of the staff look at you like a piece of meat while wearing a bikini. When you are expected to pay 40 USD for a meal, you don't want to see that the waiter was scretching his balls before putting down the plate in front of you.

• Helen (10/5): Hidden gem away from hustle and bustle of Mirissa - It was my second time staying here and I will definitely come again! The staff are truly wonderful - they are always ready with a smile and happy to assist to all queries. The room I had was quiet and spacious - fantastic bathroom with great water pressure in the shower! Internet was strong and worked all around the property. Breakfast was delicious every morning and I ate dinner a few times during my stay - lovely to eat next to the sea with the sound of the waves. Plus the food is really well prepared and price-wise on par with restaurants in the area. It’s in the perfect spot where you are away from the crowds of Mirissa but it’s easy enough to get to with Tuk Tuk or car if you want to go for dinner or the beach, etc. The beach in front of the hotel is not directly for swimming but it’s relaxing to watch the turtles in the afternoon and to take long walks.

You can't really swim out the front of the hotel as the waves are very rough, but the pool is stunning, and the grounds are lovely. Lots of room of room for kids to run around and play. Would have been great of staff could have informed us of going rates for a tuk tuk to town. I found out on the last day of my trip that I had been paying WAY too much each time we wanted to head into Marissa. I would recommend downloading the Pickme app and booking transport through this app. as the hotel in a short distance from the main area.

It was kept nice and the staff were nice It isn’t in the heart of Mirissa so you will need to travel to restaurants. The sheets in our bedroom had multiple stains on it and the shower temperature didn’t go very hot. But otherwise nothing major
• Jeff (3/5): Disappointing but these things happen ! - Quality property on the south coast of Sri Lanka. Second time staying here & I would despite our problems highly recommend. We were a party of 2 couples. Unfortunately we ALL came down with severe food poisoning on day three of our stay. The source could be directly linked to the hotel kitchen as we had not left the property for the previous 2 days.Management not sympathetic ! Very expensive to stay here, prices somewhat above their station. ANIMAL WELFARE ISSUE : There is an internal fish pond at the entrance of the hotel. The fish were struggling through lack of oxygen in the water due to no filter system. The management were alerted to the issue & understood the problem. Hopefully this has now been resolved. If you do decide to stay in Imagine after reading this review, please check on the health of the fish.
• Sarah (10/5): Exceptional - The hotel imagine is located at a calmer part of Mirissa, just a 5 minutes Tuk Tuk ride from Mirissa beach. In the bay in front of the hotel you can spot many huge turtles who enjoy the waves and the calm spot. The staff is amazing, always attentive and super friendly. Having breakfast on the terrace next to the ocean is phenomenal and the the small property makes you feel like you’re home. The owner is always available making sure you are happy and the kitchen is doing an amazing job. We had dinner in the hotel several times and even enjoyed a wonderful new years dinner. Definitely a place you don’t want to leave and a clear recommendation when you want to be around Mirissa but not in the middle of the crowd. 👍🏻

The owners are very very elegant warm persons, with great taste and knowledge of how things should be done., also food wise , you find the best half boiled eggs ever for breakfast!!! They have the cutest dog ever that made my kids trip !!! Baby Toby…The beauty of this place is the calm setting with all comforts , beautiful swimming pool and front beach. However swimming can be dangerous and there is only little places where one can enter the water. Apart from that one can take endless walks with no one around along the beach! In very little time you can reach a more busy beach where you can swim. However, the best is to go to the surfer fun cool beech after Mirissa. Nothing

• Patricia (10/5): Exceptional - Imagine Villa Hotel was my favorite hotel out of everywhere we stayed in Ella. Upon arrival, the owner and all of the staff greeted us as we got out of our taxi. The owner designed and built the hotel, and this shows in every single detail in the lobby to in the garden to in the rooms. It is a beautiful property in a perfect location. Throughout our short stay at the hotel, both the owner and his staff went completely out of their way to make sure that we had everything we needed and to do anything that they could to make it perfect. I cannot recommend highly enough that everyone coming to Mirissa stay here.

• Helen (10/5): A gem in Mirissa - Wonderful gem in Mirissa. I ended up staying here last minute after checking out of another hotel and this place ended up being the perfect retreat, so much so that I stayed an additional night. The building is a wonderful renovated property and backs out onto the beach. Perfect for sunrise and sunset walks as well as watching the sea turtles swimming in the afternoon. The room was big and comfortable, with all required amenities. The food was delicious; breakfast and dinner with the ocean waves in the background. Everyone was super friendly and helpful. Would gladly return!

Everything was up to the standard we were looking for after a rough week in hotels that don't deserve a one star rating in Sri Lanka! It's not something that I didn't like but may be a better sandy beach would have made our stay just Perfect!!
• Pandit (9/5): Superb - Loved our stay here right from the room, its view, thoughtful touches and attention to detail. It's not super fancy, but really comfortable, clean with spacious bathrooms and your own clothes drying rack which comes in very handy. The property is just a few km away from main mirissa area but very accessible via tuk tuks and private. The property had large open space with a clear view of the beach and access to it. The beach is rocky so probably not advisable to swim but one sure can take a dip and enjoy the waves. The pool was nice and clean with sunbeds and clean towels. The food was excellent. We had dinner two nights, breakfast, including the Sri Lankan breakfast which was very tasty and snacks. The staff was very helpful and courteous. They had a special, outdoor area for the massage, which was again very thoughtfully located with privacy. Maybe just a suggestion to move away from plastic bottles in the rooms and replace them with refillable, glass bottles.
• Lydia (10/5): Best place to stay in Mirissa - Extremely clean, quiet location, lovely pool with plenty of Sun loungers and umbrellas. On the beach, the sound of the waves and sea breeze is so relaxing. We had dinner here both nights and it was delicious. Excellent breakfast too cooked to order with fresh fruit, juice eggs, bread and pastries. Staff are very friendly and helpful, always available nothing is too much trouble. A home away from home, one of the best places we stayed in throughout our trip in Sri Lanka (and we stayed in lots of nice places). Quick and easy to get into central Marissa by Tuk Tuk. Nothing! Would thoroughly recommend

To the ultimate customer it’s a shock to go to a property paying such a lot and not getting moneys worth. Effectively they don’t get what they are paying for. I’m particular to Imagine Hotel - Lack of food choices especially for vegetarians Requirement for pre order of food While the staff did whatever they were asked, they were always a reluctance which is not expected when you compare to similarly other priced properties
• Susan (10/5): Lovely stay over Christmas, we really enjoyed not least due to the very friendly staff doing everything possible to make - Very lovely small boutique hotel. The name “villa” makes very good sense for the feeling you have when staying there. The atmosphere is nice and quiet and relaxed, and the hosts and their staff make you feel at home. The current in the Ocean is quite strong so you cant swim in the Ocean, but the little natural “pools” formed by the rocks are really nice, so you can get a dip in the Ocean

• Mauro (9/5): Great stay!! - The staff and the owner are super friendly and helpful. I arrived at 3 am and they were waiting for me. The entire complex is very clean, and the location is just on the beachfront. There is a big stretch of beach to the right where you can have the beach just to yourself. It is very well maintained, and the room was so spacious and comfortable. You will sleep with the sound of the ocean.

• Evgeniy (1/5): Bad - The hotel is just brilliant at stealing money If you want to spoil your vacation, then this hotel is definitely suitable for this. Already on the second day during the cleaning, 600 US dollars were stolen from the safe and 25,000 rupees from the bag. All this happened during the cleaning, when we had breakfast 30 meters from the room. All the money was recalculated before cleaning, as we planned excursions.When we turned to the hostess, who is an elderly European, he immediately ran to his Lankan host to ask for advice. The Lankan was very aggressive and we decided not to get involved. As a result, we decided to change the location the next day. When we came to pay, we were told that despite the whole situation, we had to pay for all the booked days. We decided not to get involved, paid in full and happily left this hell. Keep in mind, all the staff has access to your safe and will gladly search your bags during cleaning, and then they will call you a fool!

• David (9/5): Perfect comfort for your beach holiday. - Very comfy accommodation, excellent bed quality, good bathroom, spacious, modern, spotless with a great swimming pool. Direct access to a characterful little beach with a shallow tidal pool. Breakfasts are good quality and generous and both breakfasts and dinner are served in a delightful and airy little pavillion almost on the beachfront. Excellent staff and owner Manitz is a lovely, gentle person. Definitely recommended. It’s a short tuk tuk ride to fabulous Marissa swimming beach and slightly longer to lovely Waligama surfing and bathing beach. Both are must do’s but beyond walking distance from the hotel.

• Timur (10/5): Great value for money spend. Highly recommend this location for calm and relaxed vacation. - Great, calm place on the edge of ocean! We stay here for one week with family! Highly recommend for family with kids and couples slat any age. Here you could find everything for happy holiday time. Great hotel team cleaning rooms every day, towels changed every day, great breakfast services individually. Swimming pool and area around all what you need to chill. Ocean in front of hotel not for swimming, but any moment you could take TukTuk to go to Mirrisa or Weligama beach (5-10 min), price for transfer less than cheap. Hard to say, just some tips to travelers, please just in case have with you physical credit card to pay for hotel, because bank terminal not support Apple Pay ( that is usual for SriLanka).

The room was large with wonderful amenities: a sitting area, a desk, a mini fridge, hot water heater for tea or coffee, AC, tv with lots of English channels, robe & slippers and a safe. For dinner I had a tuna steak, which was delicious. Breakfast was large with eggs & bacon, fresh fruit and juice and a bread basket.

• Christine (10/5): A little gem - A lovely hotel in a quiet area. I stayed in room 1 and had a beautiful view of the sea. The staff were friendly and genuinely helpful and cheerful. The pool was always clean and there were enough sun loungers - no need to "reserve" them with towels. Pool towels are available. The wifi reception was good throughout. The hotel room was clean, tidy and very roomy. The facilities were good - TV had a good range of channels, the bathroom had a walk-in shower, the bedroom had good air-conditioning and a ceiling fan, there was a hair-dryer in the bathroom, the safe is free to use. Good sound-proofing - I couldn't hear any noise from the room above or next door. Breakfast was generous and there was a wide range of food available. I would definitely stay at Imagine Villa again and I highly recommend it.

• brian (10/5): Best hotel I think I've ever stayed in - This hotel has everything you need and want.. Marnix, Wije & All the staff could not make you all feel more welcome. We were in rooms 5 & 6 who had outstanding views of the Indian Ocean.... You were made feel as though you were actually at home while in this hotel... The food was actually outstanding I would recommend you book Half Board if your staying in the hotel.... Breakfasts were amazing with plenty to chose from. Fantastic pool area....
