- Nicole (8/5): Fits the description, the woman at the desk is really nice and helpful! - The staff was very helpful, the free water was nice, the path along the canal and ferry are great. I feel the description was accurate. They also gave a backup wifi which was great. My room was quiet enough and I didn't find the beds too hard. The view of the canal from my room was a really amazing bonus (I was room 610). Small things: Bathroom always had some water coming from somewhere on the ground even when I didn't take a shower. Could do with some soft lighting for right before bed only options were totally dark or super florescent. Initial wifi didn't work on iPhone but they said that might happen at checkin and gave a backup. Still, would be cool if they fixed it as the backup is a bit slower (as they also said). Nothing major though and I'd probably stay again.

- Christopher (10/5): - Loved the proximity to the water taxi 👍!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Veldig god service, hotellrommet er grei til prisen.
- Farid (10/5): - Bien
- Stephan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Arthur (10/5): - Quiet area and helpful staff.
- Peter (8/5): Very good - The location is very practical (central to reasonably priced shopping as well as at stop of a city river boat
- Turabek (10/5): Exceptional - The owners are super nice and friendly. The lady at the reception helped me with recommendations for restaurants, places to visit, purchasing a ticket for a muay thai fight show with a discount and explained to me how to get around the city. The location is superb and easy to get anywhere. There is also a small fruit market nearby with cheap prices. Definitely staying there again next time I visit Bangkok.
- Hleb (7/5): Good - Just good place to stay over
- Verified traveler (6/5): OK for the price - The hotel is somewhat hidden and in an area not too far from some attractions, but with not a lot of restaurants in he vicinity. The room was OK, but the bathroom left to be desired, and where we were (5th floor) the wifi was basically unusable, as it kept disconnecting every couple of minutes
- Satt (7/5): Good -
- Marko (8/5): Very good -
- Jessica Sent Yatse (10/5): - We really enjoyed our stay. Mel was very helpful and kind. The room in general was clean, i would just suggest to improve a bit on cleaning the bathroom. as a whole, it was convenient, the market close by has excellent delicious food and is good for shopping thai clothing 👍 thank you!
- Leiendecker (8/5): Very good -
- Giada (10/5): - So good
- Arthur (10/5): - Staff were very helpful.
- Ansod (10/5): Enjoyed everything during my stay ! - The hotel has a great location, it's close to a market, and several shops, and nice restaurants. You can find everything you need around. The room is simple and has basic furnitures but everything you need for staying some days.
There is no fridge in the room but you can store your food in the fridge at the reception. You can warm your food in the microwave. The hotel give you bottle of water everyday.
The owners are so lovely and really nice. Miss can speak good English. The bed was super comfy, the shower was hot and there was no problem with the pressure. The AC was working well and no noise.
The room was super bright, with a nice view on the canal. There was no noise coming from outside.
For the boxers, it's super close to the Sangmorakot gym, only 6min to walk. Nothing, I really enjoyed everything about my stay.
- Adel (10/5): Exceptional - The staff is so good and helpful
- Kevin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Antonio (6/5): - Poor ambiance probably because it's close to the canal. Room was okay but the ground level still needs improvement in appearance
- Ly (7/5): Good -
- Nina (9/5): Great time in Bangkok - Awesome host, great location Could be a bit cleaner
- Khan (1/5): Bad -
- James (10/5): Exceptional - Basic room, everything worked, great welcome and customer service. Exactly what I needed from a cheap hotel room
- Alexandr (3/5): Poor -
- Małgorzata (10/5): Exceptional - I loved the location, so close to the temple, local market or the river. Hotel host was extremely helpful. It was our fist time in Bangkok, she has helped us out a lot and gave us some good recommendations
- Victor (6/5): Pleasant -
- Jinny (7/5): A good place to stay in Bangkok - The location with the view of the river from my room was excellent. Mel, the owner, goes the extra mile to help her guests. She provided me with information regarding trains, boats, etc, that I wouldn't have known otherwise. I had to go to the airport at 4 am and she booked a taxi and waited outside with me until the taxi arrived. Her communication skills and English knowledge are excellent.
Bottle water is provided daily, and there is a lift, which is handy. The room and bathroom were clean, and the bed was comfortable. It is a budget hotel, and the facilities provided keep in line with it. Also, the family lives there, and therefore, the entrance, for example, looks a bit messy, but everything is clean. It is safe as the reception is manned all the time and the entrance door is locked at night (guests are provided with a key). The air-conditioning did not work properly and shut itself off all the time. The hotel is located in a commercial area of the old city and is very hectic. But once inside the hotel, it is very quiet. There was no kettle in the room, and when I requested, Mel immediately provided me with one. The room door can not be locked from inside, and there is only a lock chain. I personally would have preferred a door lock, but I did not feel unsafe at all as there was someone at the reception all the time.
- Tony (8/5): You couldn’t find more perfect host 😊 very pleasant couple always there too help out with advise - Perfect location, tidy & clean great value It rained 😂
- Susanne (10/5): Comfortable Stay - Great location right on the canal, walking path along the canal, walking bridge to the other side.
10 min walk to Hua Chiew Traditional Chinese Medicine Center and also to local
Starbucks.
My room on the 6th floor had a great view of the canal and city skyline.
My room was very bright, clean and quiet and has good hot water shower.
Wi-Fi was good because I asked the manager to give me a room by the router.
The manager is friendly, helpful and informative about the area
- Geppino (8/5): Very good -

- Kathryn (10/5): Value for money, safe, clean, friendly staff! - We all loved our stay at The Seven Luck! It was our first time in Thailand coming from the UK and we arrived on New Year’s Eve. The staff were able to accommodate a 2am arrival and even organised a taxi pickup for us at the airport.
The owner/receptionists were super friendly and helpful the whole trip and gave us lots of recommendations for places to go. We were also greeted at the end of every day with a fresh, cold bottle of water which was really refreshing.
The rooms were spotless and cleaners were offered to come and make up the room every day. We had all the amenities we could need and the staff also helped when we asked for a few more pillows.
The location is great, right next to the river which you can walk along to get to other areas. Only about a 25 min walk from the famous Khaosan Road and there’s a 7-11 just around the corner as well as lots of street food markets in the day. The neighbourhood felt really safe and there were also lots of taxi’s/tuk tuk’s in the area should we need them.
When we left the property we were also allowed to leave all our rucksacks before we headed to our next destination which made our day 100 times easier.
Great value for money, would absolutely stay here again next time we’re in Bangkok! Thank you again. :) Couldn’t really fault the stay, one thing to mention is that the shower was initially cold until we found a switch at the bottom of the shower box which made it hot again but very easy to fix!
- Jesica (10/5): Exceptional -
- Maggrik (8/5): Very good -
- Vasilisa (1/5): Bad -
- Kaveen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Neil (8/5): Very good - Different location to the touristy bars and noisy venue's, more market area by canal which takes you to the nana area of Bangkok for under 20 baht , Taxis over charging as you need to use at night
- Andrei (9/5): Good hotel with nice location and kind personal - - Very kind and helpful manager on reception
- Excellent location of hotel in Bangkok close to all sights
- Big room with 2 windows with view on the river
- Water bottles in the room
- Clean room and bathroom
- Comfortable bed and silent neighbors - The are no power sockets closed to the beds
- Slow Wi-Fi speed (around 3 Mbit/s) in the room (our room was on 6 floor)
- There is no kettle in the room
- There is no shelf in the bathroom to put shower gel, sponge and shampoo
- Pol (7/5): Good -
- Yamin (10/5): Exceptional -
- 755htinl (8/5): Good, enjoyable, easy to go around, budget, fair price, - Room just ok but service is good. The owner couple very helpful. Get us early check in & late check out without asking 👍. Low cost but enjoyable. Recommend for budget tour & surrounding with whole sale market, Fruit market, river boat jetty.
If essential B’fast include so much better
- Rajesh (7/5): The receptionist/owner lady was kind enough to explain and guide us to the right destinations, travel methods, best -
- Shogo (10/5): Exceptional -
- Foo (8/5): Very good - The location is very convenient, the water pressure is very good and the rooms are quite spacious. A stench at the elevator area and the room doors are only lockable through the outside using the key given.
- Philip (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kevin (7/5): Good -
- Ben (9/5): Superb -
- Patrik (10/5): Exceptional - Mel is very Nice and Helpful .
You can ask Here everthing you want! Always Smiling and Care for you.
- Mikeal (4/5): unpleasant. - Market if you like to shop and pier if you are taking boat there. The room given was old and very basic. The owner did not even provide fresh roll of toilet paper. Shampoo is basic and no dhower gel but only a cheap bar of normal soap. Aircon was noisy and remote faulty can't even adjust temp and fan.tv only has local channels and no satellite or even a single english channel. No fridge too. To make things worse, tje room assigned has a window but whenyou draw the curtain what you see is a concrete wall. Imagine paying close to 900 bhat for this. Besides location, the room looks nothing like the pictures posted. I will never ever stay in this place again.
- Mariana (9/5): Superb - clean and comfortable rooms on a quiet and safe area. the family that runs the place is very welcoming and will help you with any questions you might have. Perfect if you want a quiet place and don’t mind walking 20min to the MRT or the famous temples of the city. Tuk tuks also easy to find nearby. you can find nice and cheap Thai food on the market next to the hotel during day time
- dayangmar (10/5): Clean, helpful, comfy - I loved this hotel as it is clean and the bathroom has a bidet which is perfect for people like me. The staff were friendly and the lady boss can speak english very well and was very helpful. Close proximity to 7 eleven and fruit market. May be far from major attractions but close to mosque and one halal chicken rice stall that opens weekday.
- tstand638074 (8/5): Nice hotel close to the center - Nice staff, perfectly located (take the boat! Very ceap - 9 THB to the center - ~100THB back to the hotel in the evening ), clean rooms, nice view from our room in the 6th floor (to the golden mount).
- Weisbear (8/5): Good value for money - The hotel is located between the new and old town, so either way you need to take a water taxi or a tuktuk to get somewhere (walking also works, but rather in the evening when it’s less hot!).The water taxi is close and gets you anywhere along the canal.
Rooms are basic but comfy, with air-condition and hot showers (although you’ll probably only use the cold shower!) and the staff is friendly. Reasonable prices, beware they charge 1000 bath deposit for the key. Also offer laundry services, they have a fridge and a micro wave.
- jennifersvensson (10/5): Very good - Very good. The staff was excellent and helped us with everything we wondered about. Clean room, they cleaned every day. Maybe not the best location but 2 minutes walk to a stop for the boats that always goes on the river so it was good!
- pohol (10/5): Oasis of calm - The seven luck is in a perfect location. We used the water taxis both ways to see the sights of Bangkok so it was almost like we were away from busy traffic. Great local street vendors. Mel the owner was so helpful & gave us some great tips to make our stay really easy. Definitely recommend.
- daveman333 (10/5): Fantastic value and service - This is a budget hotel so you get the basics in terms of rooms but they all have aircon, comfortable beds and are spotlessly clean. Where this hotel really shines is the location and the service. It is central to almost all the main tourist sites and it's easy to get around either by taxi, tuk-tuk or riverboat. The service puts fancier places to shame, we booked almost a year in advance and got emails confirming our booking. About a month before we were due to arrive we got more emails confirming booking was still in place and how to get there from the airport and also how they could arrange a taxi for us at a very competitive rate which we took advantage of. The lady at the reception, May, was really lovely and happily gave us all the info about where to go and how to get there without paying inflated tourist prices. We had a lovely time in Bangkok and would definitely stay at the Seven Luck again, it's perfect if all you require is a bed and a bathroom.
- kekad (8/5): Budget hotel with excellent service - We loved our stay at the Seven Luck Hotel. It provides basic services only, but the hotel rooms were very clean and the people were very helpful.
We are especially grateful to the lovely lady at the desk (I think her name was May) who is also the owner, and who gave us helpful tips about everything from food to transport as well as the places to visit.
We had elderly family members along and she suggested suitable places they could travel to. The other hotel staff were also very helpful. We loved the fact that everyone was super polite and always had a big smile on their faces!
The location was very convenient, near a major commercial centre called Bobae Tower, just beside the canal. Transport is very easily available - from Water Taxis at the Bobae Pier to regular cabs and tuk-tuks on the road. It is right beside the much bigger Grand Palace Hotel. It is sort of located in between the old city and the new city attractions. It was very convenient for us to travel to places like Sukhumvit, Chatuchok and the Khlong Lat Mayom Floating Market as well.
You can also book tours and airport drops from the reception at competent rates.
The hotel is in a busy market area and local food stalls are aplenty in the daytime (till around 3 to 4 pm), for other times in the evening, there is a Seven-eleven and a Max Tanjai convenience store close by for packed food (mostly non-veg) and sandwiches. There is also a night market located at a short distance where you can try freshly cooked food.
The hotel provides two bottles of water each day, it is advisable to buy more water at the Seven Eleven. The reception has amenities like a hot water kettle, a rice cooker and a microwave. You can make tea or coffee here and have ramen if you want. However, I would definitely recommend the Thai tea/coffee stalls nearby - so delicious and also a good chance to meet different people and interact with them.
Vegetarian food options are a little limited but can be managed - lots of fresh fruit stalls close by and the helpful vendors are willing to customize in most cases.
The laundry service was also really good and very reasonably priced - they can give your clothes back the same day if you can give it to them early in the day.
Overall, the place is well-maintained and the people are very friendly. Our thanks again to the helpful owner who guided us during our stay. ขอบคุณ
We would definitely visit again!
- Geoffrey (8/5): Wholesale area - Enjoyed my stay here. Clean and convenient but not near BTS. It is near the canal boat though which is okay too.
- lollymariec (6/5): Small basic hotel with helpful lady at the desk - We arrived late at night and were dropped at the front of the building which looked like it had been shut down as the front door is located in the little alley way. There is staff 24/7. Free bottles of water when we arrived. Room small but clean. No safe in room but can leave items at reception. 1000 deposit on arrival. Lady at reception advised us that a tuk tuk should cost no more 100 baht to the palace. Water taxi available just up from hotel. As we arrived late we needed to get a takeaway and the lady kindly ordered this for us. Hotel next door has a few different restaurants upstairs which was very nice. The hall in seven luck was a little noisy at night after people had been out but other than that you pay for what you get. A good start to Bangkok.
- epikhy (10/5): A central and awesome hotel - Man, we stayed there for 5 days and had a blast, its quite central, you can get around with the canal boat a cabs (which are super cheap because its so central). The hosts were the best, they recommended us basically several places each day. We will definitely come back to Seven Luck for the next time! Love it 5***
- Bella96x (8/5): Lovely receptionist - The receptionist was great she would help with any questions. Helped us get a taxi to airport. The rooms were clean and okay for a short stopover . My only complaint is that there was a thai family in this place maybe staying as guests or family who were up shouting until 3am. So for the one night we did stay here we didn't get much sleep. Other than that the place is good
- LIM (10/5): Good choice for stay - Very clean, very good.
- 577aleks (10/5): Highly recommended - Sevenluck is comfortable and clean, and situated in a great location. But what perhaps stood out the most was how friendly and helpful the staff were. The lady at the front desk offered us some superb recommendations for restaurants and attractions that really made all the difference to our trip. The restaurants she recommended were really wonderful spots with delicious food that were known mostly by locals. I'm already really looking forward to the next time I can eat at Elvis Suki. I want to thank her for the comfortable, warm and authentic experience she helped us have in Bangkok!
- tluce002 (10/5): A Neighborhood Gem - Nestled in the charming neighborhood of Bobae along the San Saab Canal, the family-run Seven Luck is a real gem of a hotel. I just returned from my first trip to Thailand, and can honestly say that my overwhelmingly positive experience there was due in large part to the graciousness and knowledgeable recommendations (especially for great food spots) of the hotel’s proprietors, Mel and Bungy. Wake up early and walk down the small alleyway that separates the hotel’s entrance from the main street, and one will find a bustling residential neighborhood alive with the sights and sounds of clothing markets, and fruit and cooked food vendors. From the entrance of the hotel, it is a quick water taxi ride along the canal to the Jim Thompson House and, a bit further down, the Sky Train. For those interested in the chaotic, if not obligatory, delights of Khao San Road, it is only a five minute tuk-tuk or taxi ride from the hotel. If you want food that is not modified for westerners (read: bland), ask Mel or Bungy, and they will direct you to spots, often in walking distance, that cater to local tastes.
The rooms were clean, air conditioned, and tastefully appointed, with comfortable beds and great views of the canal. All of the staff, from the cleaning crew to the night manager, were friendly and helpful. For example, when I struggled to “top up” the minutes on my Thai SIM card at the machine located on the street outside the hotel, the cleaning ladies, presumably on a brief break, took notice of my predicament and pitched in, in true family fashion, to help me. When my travel mates and I took a brief three-day sojourn to the islands in the south, Mel was nice enough to suggest that we leave our suitcases at the hotel so that we did not have to schlep them on the innumerable flights, ferries, and taxi rides required to get there. When I wanted to take a day trip to the Damnoen Saduak Floating Market and Ayutthaya ruins, Mel arranged for a private taxi driver who showed up no less than twenty minutes after she made the call.
Bangkok is a city renowned for the quantity and quality of its hotel accommodations, but the gap between what is advertised and the reality on the ground (as I found at some other establishments I stayed at) is often quite large. Not so, for the Seven Luck Hotel. For anyone looking to explore Bangkok, whether it be families, or young people taking a gap year to see the world, the family atmosphere and quirky chic of the Seven Luck is just the tonic one needs after an exhilarating day in the city. I can’t recommended it enough!
- O6331JDwilliams (10/5): Simple, clean, friendly staff & good views - Can't recommend Seven Luck highly enough. Ideal for groups of friends, families and people on business looking for a comfort, cleanliness and good wifi at a low to mid price range. It's located in a quiet area of downtown Bangkok, not close to anything in particular, but a stone's throw from everything. It's right on a canal, and the boats is an excellent way of shooting around the downtown area.
The staff speak excellent English and were always forthcoming in helping us make the most of our stay. They gave us some astoundingly good advice about local places to eat.
- 903rehanaa (10/5): Seven luck this place is really luck for visitors - I reccomend this place to all families and businessman who visit Boabe,China town, khao san, this place is located near these famous places, rooms are very neat and clean,i stayed this place for several times, do stay in this hotel i am sure you will love it,humble owners and staff, they are very helpful,
Regards nabeel
- Paula-Susarte (8/5): Excellent choice: double room with view - In few words: clean and very nice room with superb views to water canal & Golden Mount. This hotel is close to amenities and managed by helpful (but a bit cold) staff
I would not hesitate to stay here again,
- I2214WKmichaelb (8/5): Great service,clean room - Duration: 2 nights
Room type:with window( number 604)
Positive:
1.the owners are very nice couple who are ready to help in any issue
2.room very clean
3.location:back door of prince palace hotel, back entrance of clothing wholesale market.
Negative
1.the room is small but functional.
2.no shower curtain and to place around the sink to put your stuff.
3.price: 950 baht per night not that cheap but there isn't enough hotel in this erea so nothing u can do about it.
Over all if u not picky its o.k.
- carolynd25 (10/5): Fascinating environs - We have been to Bangkok many times before, but staying in this warm, family hotel is different. The location for one thing. It feels like you are living in the midst of one enormous market-largely textiles. The living and working lives of the locals is unashamedly open, somehow involving you in the sense of community.I really like the absence of all the tourist stuff. Mel is kind and genuine at the front desk.
- jolouohara (10/5): Budget but brilliant - This cute little hotel is very basic, no frills .. but clean, comfortable, close to water taxi and old part of city.
The best asset of the hotel is the lovely Mel who works long hours on the front desk and can be relied upon for good advice, top tips and excellent directions. She greeted us most days with warm smiles and helpful advice and when we returned hot and sweaty she'd greet us with complimentary bottles of chilled water. Use her laundry service to get all your clothes retuned clean and ironed in just a few hours for very small cost.
- Saar (10/5): Outstanding value - Very clean, very comfortable, great service, great wifi signal.
- 198lucieh (10/5): Family hotel with helpful staff - Me and my husband stayed here only for one night but our stay was very comfortable. The staff is helpfull they advise you how to get around you can even reach the hotel by using the boat taxi. Our room was comfortable and clean.
- sirmarc2019 (8/5): Nice hotel - + Very friendly and helpful receptionist
+ Clean, nice and quiet rooms
+ More or less in the centre of the old town
+ 7/11 and other mini markets near there
- no restaurants near there
The receptionist was very friendly and helpful. Every time we wanted to leave the hotel she asked us what we had planed to do and gave us some tipps, handdrawn maps and addresses written in thai so we could show them to the taxi drivers.
- Thean Weng (8/5): Clean and fast internet speed - Good for pricing
- LIM (8/5): - clean n good location
- Magic (8/5): Nice hotel with frendly service - Good, family hotel in reasonable price. The owner very kind, helpful and giving good advice about navigating and exploring city.
- Julian (10/5): Good hotel, great location and staff - Older hotel that look to be recently renovated. room was simple and comfortable. Had adequate air conditioning. Staff was extremely gracious and helpful. Hotel is in a good location, right next to Bo Bae Tower, a landmark that every taxi and tuk tuk knows, which was very helpful. Not too far from most tourist sites, but in a quiet, local thai neighborhood right on the canals. For the price it was definitely 5 stars.
- Thomas (4/5): Dead Neighborhood, No Food - This hotel was in the middle of nowhere. We arrived at 5:15pm to find out the whole neighborhood closed at 5pm. The hosts were slightly apologetic. Should have recognized the taxi driver's chuckle as a warning. Asked the front desk for direction on where to get something for dinner and all he had was 7-11... which is where we ended up eating dinner after wandering for an hour and a half and finding nothing else open. Room smelled kind of like a litter box. Originally booked 2 nights based on good reviews, left after one and caught the night train to Chiang Mai.
- christopher p. (8/5): Good location away from the noise. - A very clean Bangkok hotel for the price, with friendly staff on reception. The fact that it's right on the river is a huge plus, as any attractions can be reached for a fraction of the cost of a taxi. 5 minutes from MBK by water taxi for 10 bhat!!!
Very clean rooms, and informative staff make this a great alternative to the busier Khao San Road area(although this can be reached in 20 minutes on foot)
My only slight problem, was the lack of food available after about 6PM, but this is not major as there are options within either a short taxi ride, or slightly longer on foot.
RECOMMENDED!!!
