• Lena (10/5): - The most wonderful aspect has been the people of Nepal and at this hotel, from owner to reception, restaurant, doorman and cleaners, etc, they were all respectful and gracious, offering assistance whenever it was needed. Nepalese people have equal respect for humanity and their environment and it is clean everywhere, the hotel is no exception. Location is excellent and within walking distance of interesting places. Do visit the Garden of Dreams, Brakthapur, Mustang Gumpa and Kripalu Udyan. Taxis are cheap and readily available, using Indrive app. Hotel provides excellent breakfasts and dinners, very well balaced and nutritional with a lot of fruits and evdn more if you want, thdy are always happy to oblige. I would return here on next visit and would hi 6hly recommend this hotel. Nothing, everything is more than I expected. Just one tiny piece of advice: use the slippers when taking shower, the floor is very slippery. They will be putting up signs as kindly reminders, to avoid any mishaps.

• Jonathan (10/5): Exceptional Stay in Kathmandu — I Kept Coming Back - I stayed at Hotel Tenki when I first arrived in Nepal, and the experience was so good that I decided to return two more times during my trip. The location in Thamel is excellent — central and convenient, yet situated in a relatively quiet part of the neighbourhood. The rooms were spacious and very clean, the shower always had hot water, and the breakfast was excellent with plenty of options. Everything was consistently spot on. What truly made this hotel stand out from other places I stayed in Nepal was the staff and the manager. They genuinely cared about making my stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible, and they absolutely succeeded. I was also able to leave some luggage in storage for a couple of weeks while I went trekking, and the team helped me with additional bookings and logistics, which made everything incredibly convenient. A big thank you to the entire team — I would gladly stay here again and highly recommend Hotel Tenki to anyone visiting Kathmandu.

OG gibt es eine schöne Terrasse voller blühenden Pflanzen. Das Frühstück was man am Vortag auf einem ipad aussucht ist abwechslungsreich, wunderschön dekoriert und lecker. Besonders hervorzuheben ist das freundliche und zuvorkommende Personal. Der Hotelbesitzer legt großen Wert auf die Aubildung vom Personal und Bereitstellung von Information für die Gäste. Ich musste ein Paket nach Europa schicken und mir wurde geholfen beim Shop einen guten Preis auszuhandeln. Nichts- wirklich alles war perfekt!

• Ulrike (10/5): Sehr freundliches Hotel in Thamel - Von der ersten bis zur letzten Minute wurden verwöhnt und das werden wir nie vergessen. Wir hatten Zi. 407, groß genug, sehr sauber, mit einer guten Dusche. Die Betten waren auch sehr gut. Wir wurden sehr freundlich von Ashok empfangen und direkt bewirtet,..mit Kaffee, Tee und einem gegantischem Pfannkuchen. Der Service der Mitarbeiter im Restaurant z. B..Govinda und Binary Sah waren unglaublich. So wie sie sich gekümmert haben, ist einmalig. Nochmals unser herzliches Dankeschön. Auch die Mitarbeiter an der Rezeption sind positiv zu erwähnen. Die Lage des Hotels ist auch sehr gut, man ist direkt mitten in Thamel, wo es Unmengen von Shop und Restaurants gibt. Für uns war es in Kathmandu ( wir hatten mehrere Hotels) mit Abstand das Beste. Breakfast was fantastic with exemplary service. The team helped us plan what to do with our time in Kathmandu telling us of the best places to visit. The rooftop terrace was brilliant with views of the Himalayas in the distance. It was a fantastic place to stay in Kathmandu - a great location near lots of shops and restaurants. It was the perfect place to stay in this city. It was all great.

• Clara (10/5): THE BEST HOTEL IN KATHMANDU POR SURE - Everything was perfect. This is the second time we have stayed here, and once again we truly felt at home during all five nights of our stay. The breakfast was excellent, and the staff always made sure we had everything we needed. They constantly checked on us to ensure everything was fine and provided outstanding service at all times. The hotel also offers a 24/7 reception service, which made our stay even more comfortable and convenient. Every single member of the staff was incredibly kind, warm, and welcoming. When we left, they even blessed us with a traditional Buddhist scarf, which was such a touching and unforgettable gesture. They also kindly arranged our taxi to the airport, making our departure completely stress-free. We highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again.

They took such great care of me, with wonderful breakfasts, numerous teas (to feed my masala tea drinking habits 🤪), helping me navigate transport, and always greeting me with kind words and smiles. I cannot recommend Hotel Tenki enough. The stay was clean, relaxing and 10/10. Nothing!

The room was clean, comfortable, and a nice place to come back to after being out all day. The staff were friendly in a natural way. Breakfast was fresh and enjoyable, just what we needed to start the day. Overall, it was a nice, comfortable stay that we were really happy with. We definitely recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Kathmandu.

The place is located in the heart of Thamel, a charming bustling neighborhood with fabulous shops and restaurants. The area felt very safe and the security at the hotel always greeted me, adding an additional element of comfort. My room was clean and comfortable. The hotel breakfast was restaurant quality, always delicious and very generous portions. A special thanks to Mr Gurung, the hotel manager, who went above and beyond to help me coordinate a last minute driver for me and my friends, some of whom weren’t even staying at the same hotel, to go on a hike in the mountains. He continued to assist us throughout the day trip helping us communicate with the driver and even packed us breakfast on the road when he learned we would be missing breakfast time. Thank you to everyone who made this trip so special! I would highly recommend this place.

• Md Al Imran (10/5): Warm Hospitality. - The location is excellent, right in the Thamel area. The staff—especially the owner—were extremely helpful and genuinely hospitable, which was the most positive aspect of our stay. I’ve rarely seen such a kind and attentive host. I would give full stars just for the owner’s hospitality. As a Muslim guest, he made sure we had a halal breakfast, although the options were quite limited. I have a few suggestions to help improve the stay. The room felt quite small for a standard deluxe twin, and it seemed that costs may have been minimized in some areas. The bed’s side finishing could be improved, as my wife and I experienced minor injuries during our two-night stay. On the second day, I requested room cleaning before going out, but when we returned, the room had not been cleaned. After informing the reception, they promptly sent someone to take care of it. It was likely due to a busy period, which is understandable.

The room was nice and clean, and the breakfast each morning was top notch, fresh and really enjoyable. Mr Ashok was incredibly friendly and gave me lots of useful information that helped a lot during my trip. As I was planning to go to Manang, he recommended his cousin’s place, Bhratang Farm House, which turned out to be a beautiful spot, and his cousin welcomed me warmly and even offered complimentary wine. He also suggested his uncle’s hotel in Upper Manang, Hotel Tilicho, where I had a great experience with very nice rooms and delicious food. I would recommend Hotel Tenki to anyone wanting to stay in Thamel, it offers great value for money and a genuinely welcoming experience.

He is very knowledgeable about global and geopolitical topics, and we ended up having some genuinely interesting conversations about current world events. I am also into fitness, so it was great that he recommended a good gym nearby and even arranged free entry for my entire stay there. We also had some engaging discussions about fitness and training, which made the experience even more personal and memorable. It is a kind of place where you feel very comfortable and connected, and I would happily recommend Hotel Tenki Kathmandu.

• Martin (10/5): Next-Level Hospitality - We had a really memorable stay here and a big part of that was the support and kindness of the manager, Mr Ashok. The room and overall hotel were clean, well maintained, and very comfortable, which made it easy to relax after long days out. He went far beyond basic service, giving us genuinely useful advice about the area, including where to find good quality trekking gear and how to save money, along with many insider tips that made our trip much smoother. He even helped us with trek related medicines and guided us on money exchange, which we truly appreciated. The staff overall were very professional and friendly, and the breakfast each morning was amazing, fresh, and something we genuinely looked forward to. The real icing on the cake was when Mr Ashok arranged an invitation for us to LOD, one of the world’s top clubs, with free entrance, and during the night the DJ even called out our name and our photo appeared on the LED screen, which was an incredible experience. This stay was truly special.
