Guest Reviews
- Morales (9/5): -
- Dawn (10/5): - The staff was awesome. Breakfast was great The pool was closed for painting. However that just means the hotel was making improvements.
- Amber (5/5): Ok - Safe location The room was in real need for new furniture, staff was very loudly laughing at 1am directly under the room, making it hard to sleep. I had ordered in pizza for dinner around 5 and staff was upset that we sat in the tables/common area. Also pool was closed for privately rented swimming lessons the next morning making guest use unavailable until finished around 9:45, which seemed frustrating since the main reason we came was for the pool on a school break in the winter.
- Miller (5/5): - pool & hot tub closed. be nice if website would sayvthis.
- Dave Lange (8/5): An ok place - Location was very good.. Way over priced!!

- Marie (9/5): We had a good stay - The breakfast was lovely. I would've enjoyed a gluten free pastry or bread option, but my family thoroughly enjoyed breakfast every day of our stay. The staff were friendly and helpful and got us everything we needed. The king suite took awhile for the living room area to cool down. That was really the only downside to the room
- Dana (9/5): A very nice place with good, friendly staff. -
- Katie (7/5): -
- Michelle (9/5): -
- Lee (7/5): Review of room 218 - Room was clean and quiet. TV remote didn't work. Stations in literature didn't match what was on TV. Air conditioner and refrigerator kind of noisy. Room 218, Sartell, MN.
- Jean (10/5): -
- Kerry (2/5): Disappointed - Checked into the room in the bathroom was not cleaned and they had to re-clean it. Paid a lot of money for a room that was not cleaned up to standards and was clearly not cleaned previously.
- Lalim (9/5): -
- Savannah (1/5): -
- Lisa (7/5): -
- Bridget (6/5): - No variety at breakfast
- BigDawgsMomma (10/5): Clean, comfortable pleasant good night sleep good location - This hotel was a pleasant comfortable stop .Will definitely be back here when in the area absolutely recommend it. This was a West Coast bike tour. Some of the other chains we had stayed in. We’re absolutely Frightening. This was a welcome reprieve. Clean friendly, good location.
- Janet (8/5): You'll be easily satisfied with this hotel. - Clean, basic hotel. I liked that breakfast started early on the weekend as well as during the week.
- Cindy (10/5): - Very nice
- Bailee (2/5): - When we arrived to this hotel, it looked completely different from the photos taken. They must have done "remodeling" at some point. It was extremely dark inside, and did not feel welcoming at all. It took us about 15-20 minutes to check in due to technology issues. When we went to our room, it just felt dirty and definitely needed upgrading. Again, our room did not look as clean as the pictures others have taken. It smelt musty when we entered, the shower looked well loved, just not what we were expecting. We actually left and decided not to stay the night due to our experience. Other hotels that are not too far from this once charge around the same price, so i would go elsewhere. Wish we could have gotten refunded for this stay, but havent heard back yet.
- Lorraine (10/5): - A very friendly place made you feel at home.
- 84shellyh (4/5): In need of updating - This hotel is in dire need of updating. While the staff is very friendly and accommodating, our room was damp, musty and smelly. The beds and pillows were very uncomfortable. My husband didn’t sleep well and I woke up with back and neck pain. Not all of the rooms are this bad - at least they haven’t been in the past.. We checked out 3 days early and went elsewhere. I will say the towels were soft and plush but that was really the only good thing.
- Lana (6/5): - Very damp room.
- Yakubu (10/5): - .
- Verified traveler (6/5): average place - The hotel was good to work with me on the first of my 4 night booking, as my cancelled flight in changed my itinerary.
I was not able to access my room 2 times in 3 days due to faulty room keys, which was an inconvenience.
There is no elevator in the hotel, so travel light unless you have help carrying bags. Some of the patrons congregate outside to smoke, and then bring the smell into the hallways, which I found annoying. Not my best stay for the money.
- Ione (10/5): - Great staff and very clean room and surroundings
- Nicole (4/5): - I was disappointed with the hot tub and pool being unclean. The pool water smelled like urine. Our room was very cold set at 60 degrees and it took several hours to warm up. Walmart and server food stores are close by which was nice. But I would not stay here again.
- Daniel (6/5): - gas fireplace was not working. That's why I booked it. fabric on arms of two couches in living room were very dirty.
- Bruce (6/5): - Okay
- Debora (10/5): - very pleasant staff
- Kristine (8/5): -
- John (7/5): -
- Jennifer (10/5): Exceptional -
- Richard (8/5): Enjoyable - Personable, comfortable. Not institutional. Didn’t note anything
- Heather (10/5): - The polite and helpful staff.
- Patricia (9/5): Superb -
- Shelley (2/5): Horrible! - They double charged us for our room and would not refund us. Front desk was rude and hung up on us.
- Heather (10/5): - The staff
- Tamara (10/5): - I would like if there was open swim where you could pay a fee for the day.
- Scherer (6/5): Pleasant -
- Gillian (4/5): - It is not the bes t
- Jennifer (2/5): Undeniably the worst - If Nostradamus lived until July, 3rd 1566 I’m almost positive he would have predicted that this Americinn location in Sartell, MN would be ran down by an unprofessional employee at the front desk. I travel for work and have never left a review.. EVER! I hope this finds management or better yet the owners and they save this business by firing the, angry at the world, front desk lady. Pretty sure they know who she is (hard to miss). I feel bad for the hotel having to get hit with this review because of one employee that knows nothing about customer service but everything about everything! Ratings are crashing here fast.
- Roberta A (6/5): rude staff - am staff was very rude due to mix up about my dog (service dog with papers). when I looked up your hotel on line I checked to see if animals were allowed your site said dogs were not allowed but service dogs were welcome. I went to the manager at the front desk to let her know and she said only certain service were allowed but that my dog could stay. She then wrote in a book that she was allowing my dog to stay. the next morning two staff (Chris and a male) were waiting for me near the back door Chris told me my dog was not allowed when I told her that I spoke with the manager last night and that she approved it, Chris said that person was not her boss. I told Chris and the male that my dog was a service dog she asked me for what, I told her for anxiety Chris said that did not count. Chris didn't need to be rude, she said she wasn't, I told she was very rude. My husband and I went to breakfast and Chris and other staff members were watching me and seemed to be talking about me. They would walk close to our table and stand there talking about the food. I later went up to the desk and apologized to Chris about the misunderstanding and said the hotel was very nice and in return Chris said "your dog still isn't supposed to be here". we were big fans of Wyndham hotels, we probably won't be anymore.
- Greg (10/5): - Priced right
- Arlis (6/5): - The rooms had a very odd smell which never cleared. Otherwise, the rooms were clean. We were not impressed with one of the staff who complained about the city, the company, and her coworkers. We were saddened by the lack of professionalism. The pool is nice, but the hot tub is decaying.
- Kevin (8/5): - For the price it was a nice room
- Sarah (4/5): - We booked this property for a birthday weekend and we planned on using the two beds and couch for sleeping. We got there and the couch was ripped with mystery stains so we had to smush into the two beds. When I asked the woman who checked us in (who clearly hates her job and maybe people in general) said she couldn’t transfer our rooms and since we prepaid we were stuck. There are so many other places to stay in that area so I would pick another spot.
- Ann (10/5): - N/A
- Michael (8/5): Very good - Nice breakfast Noisy AC
- Verified traveler (8/5): Family Friendly - Busy motel with great staff and family friendly.
- Kristin (8/5): The staff was great, even though it was very busy - It was close to where we were having an event. It was clean for the most part. They need air filters in the bathrooms.
- William (10/5): - Location and friendly/professional staff.
- Jean (8/5): - Quiet
- Teri (4/5): Eh, so so. - Room was good. We booked one with what we thought would have a couch, it didn't. But it did have a jacuzzi. We got a roll away cot for an extra 10 bucks instead.
Left in the am for something and came back to find our room mid way stripped.
When getting a receipt they claimed our room door was left open and that is why they went ahead and started cleaning it.
I know we did not leave our room open. Even if we had planned to check out early when we left, I would not leave a hotel room door open.
I told the lady at the front desk that I did not leave the room open. She kept saying it over and over, you left the room open that is why, you left the room open. No ma'am we did not, but not worth arguing. We've stayed here a few times before. Probably won't be back because of this.
- Julie (10/5): - Everything was great and my room was nice and clean and very comfortable.
- Tim (10/5): - Nice place
- Adam (1/5): Bad -
- Lee (4/5): - Hallway smelled like an old folks home. King suite had numerous issues that need repair. Chipped paint/sheetrock around fire alarm, patching compound smeared over hole behind door, chipping paint on ceiling, musty smell in room, soap scum ring in tub. Not what I expected for $185/night.
- Gale (10/5): - Breakfast was great. Staff were very helpful. Pool was nice, maybe slightly cool, but we had fun. Hot tub was perfect, not too hot. Beds were comfortable. Shower and bathroom worked perfectly. Thank you!
- Reilson (8/5): Would stay again if passing through. - Very quiet, clean. Ran out of eggs and it was quite a wait for them to be replenished. Desk clerk seemed to be preoccupied with other things and didn't have time to monitor breakfast items.
- Carol (10/5): - Wonderful staff
- James (8/5): - When we arrived, the parking lot was being seal coated. We were told to park in the dirt in back that was crowded and muddy. Since the hotel has a relationship with the bar across the street, it would have been nice for customers with cars to be able to use the space. Other than that, check-in was fast and the woman at the desk was polite and suggested the bar across the street for food. The room was nice, clean, and well stocked. The outlets largely worked off the wall switch by the door, so turning out the lights were from the wall switch or separate fixture switches. Breakfast was fine, though later it was not well stocked. A little tension among employees at checkout (one was training on the computer and the trainer was very short with the trainee). Overall, a nice stay, but some attention to details would be nice (temporary parking and breakfast kept current).
- Elisabeth (4/5): - The main parking lot was blocked off due to them resurfacing so we had to park in the back on the gravel and haul all our luggage to the front doors around the building. The hot tub was barely even warm (84°F)The staff working said she "wasn't trained to adjust the temp". It also had a weird smell (we did not smell any chlorine at all) and the water was murky looking. Half the lights were off in the pool area and when someone asked to have them turned on she said everything that could be on was on. But then when I asked her minutes later, she just flipped a switch and they all turned on. No towels available until we had to ask for some. Breakfast was ok. Good variety of food, but we had to ask them to refill things that ran out twice and one of the containers holding the food was broke. Coffee was cold and almost gone by 8am. Would not stay here again.
- truthr2025 (6/5): Tub and Pool, Ewww, Just No - Rooms were clean and beds comfortable. The furniture in room is worn and dirty, never been cleaned, and some has small tears, and the lamp down in the check in area looks like a cat clawed it.
The check-in Staff was polite. Although not always available. In addition, there is a man staff in the morning covering breakfast that left before it was done and left the front desk unavailable to handle any check-out issue.
One of my biggest concerns was the hot tub. It is stained a brown/rust color. It does not rub off, but, there is scum around the edge of the hot tub, and the pool and the pool had foggy water. You just feel unclean at the thought of even swimming in it. I asked front desk why they keep it that way and she said they were cleaning it today which they did not.
The location is good. It’s right by Walmart and eating places. I think they are overcharging considering the fact that their furniture is dirty. Their Hot tub looks disgusting and their pool is gross and scummy. In addition, the furniture in the room doesn’t feel like something you wanna sit on outside of that I would stay.
If, you wanna know what they serve for breakfast it is waffles, cooked Liquid eggs, Generic sausage. They do have fruit cups, though, yo, play, and some bagels. My grandkids did not like the cereal which is not normal. That’s about it.
- 178brandil (8/5): First Stay - Room was clean. Did find a hair on the hair dryer and a couple of used kleenex in a drawer, but overall nice stay. Quiet even with baseball teams there. Staff were friendly and very professional. Decent breakfast as well. Air conditioning and parking were nice as well.
- Brenda (8/5): - Close to downtown, walkable to a couple places
- Carrie (8/5): - Needs better parking.
- Brandi (8/5): - Check in was quick and easy, room was clean except for a spare hair in the hairdryer and a couple of used kleenex in the bedside table drawer. Staff was friendly and the atmosphere was quiet and peaceful.
- FarAway01711958041 (10/5): Fantastic Coziness and Comfort! 5 star hotel! - Absolutely FANTASTIC, COZY and COMFORTABLE hotel! Beautiful landscaping with trees, super lush green grass and an awesome indoor pool with floor to ceiling windows! The pool is even open until midnight for adult guests! Comfortable beds and great air conditioning in my room. Delicuous complimentary breakfast each morning in the cozy pub café area. I just love the warm colorful look of all of the interiors of this cozy spot! Most awesome of all is the incredibly welcoming and fun staff headed up by a fantastic manager named Michelle and some truly caring and guest service oriented front desk people like Colleen, who had me laughing at first check in! She is very personable and truly cares about each guest, especially this one who was flooded out of his home and will be calling this AmericInn my "home away from home" for the next few months while my home is being reconstructed!
I'm giving them 5 Stars folks! Well deserved!
Thank you from my heart AmericInn of Sartell for helping a stressed out guy de-stress after his house floods and his Mom ends up in the hospital! Your staff truly cares, especially Colleen!
Gods blessings on your business!
- Jeanne (10/5): - Room was great and bed very comfortable. Service desk very friendly and helpful with dinner suggestions.
- andrewaX2571CQ (2/5): Disappointing Experience and Poor Customer Service - Our recent stay was deeply disappointing and marred by numerous issues that made our visit far less enjoyable than it should have been. We were part of a larger group, and unfortunately, many in our room block had their reservations mishandled—dates were incorrect, and instead of resolving the situation, hotel staff placed the blame on us.
Customer service was inconsistent and, frankly, disheartening. The manager was repeatedly “unavailable” when women in our group asked to speak with someone in charge but appeared readily when men did the same. This pattern was not only unprofessional but concerning.
Cleanliness and amenities were substandard. The pool area had no towels available, forcing us to use our room supply. When we requested more, they were logged in the computer as if we might be charged for them later. The hot tub was dirty, the jets weren’t working, and the surrounding tiles were covered in scum. Mildew was clearly visible in the shower/tub area of our room, and the light fixtures in the pool area were only half operational.
At check-in, the front desk employee was chewing food and openly grumbling about having to check in guests—despite there being no line. Her comments and demeanor made it clear that we were viewed as an inconvenience, not as welcome guests.
The breakfast area could not keep up with demand. Even basic items like bread and cereal ran out frequently. Our in-room fridge was damaged but barely functional. The lack of an elevator in this two-story hotel meant carrying bags and coolers up a full flight of stairs—an issue we were not informed of beforehand.
While our children were well-behaved and fully supervised, a staff member loudly compared working at the hotel to "running a daycare—only worse," and even yelled at our kids for skipping in the lobby. When I calmly approached the staff about this, I was told to leave the premises. In contrast, when my husband checked out, he was treated warmly and professionally. Interestingly, the manager who had been "unavailable" during our stay was suddenly present for his departure.
We later filed a formal complaint with Wyndham customer support. The hotel was given a chance to respond and, instead of taking any accountability, they doubled down and continued to place blame on us.
Having previously worked in the hospitality industry, I understand that group bookings can present challenges. However, our group was respectful and orderly throughout. The handling of our stay reflected not just poor service but a lack of professionalism and accountability from management.
I would not recommend this hotel until significant changes are made to both staff training and management culture.
- 297mtp (4/5): Beware of the pool - Nothing great to say about this place. Pretty sure half of our baseball team got sick from the gross pool/hot tub. It was not clean. This needs to be a top priority especially when they have so many teams of kids staying here for sporting events.
- Brittany (10/5): Exceptional - Breakfast and comfy beds The pool/ hot tub were down
- Kayla (6/5): - It could have used a bit more cleaning in the bathroom. Check-in took a while and they had an AirPod in with loud rap. Finally took it out and when had to call for assistance it switched to phone saying n word a bunch in the song 😅 he was nice but had kept trying to run a card on file without asking me and it was very expired which is why it kept declining and didn’t ask for another until I asked if something was wrong because it’s been about 5 minutes.
- Scott (10/5): Good value for the price - Clean and quiet Off the trail a little ways
- Jerome (6/5): - It was fine. Overpriced for the location.
- Dustin (9/5): Superb -
- Verified traveler (6/5): - We got there around 8:30pm. There was one person working and 5 people in line.
During breakfast the juice machine didn’t work.
There was garbage on the floor near our bed when we got into the room.
- Amanda (4/5): Ish. Not a good spot unless absolutely have to - Mold in the bathroom, bed was not king size and was way too firm, there was a sock on the floor from the previous room renter.
- Westra (10/5): Exceptional -
- Natalie (3/5): Poor -
- Derung (8/5): Very good -
- Ilkya (4/5): - Hotel is expensive for the condition everything is old and needs to be remodel and lower the price for what its.
- Isaac (7/5): Good - It was a bummer that the jets for the hot tub were not working.
- Sarah (6/5): - The breakfast was a little sparse. Lots of things ran out and had to ask to get more food when there was still 2.5 hours of breakfast left
- Deb (2/5): Hard beds -
I’m writing to express my disappointment following a recent stay at your property. The bed in my room was extremely hard and uncomfortable, making it nearly impossible to get a good night’s rest.
When I attempted to address the issue with the night auditor, I was met with complete disinterest. Rather than offering any assistance or even showing concern, he remained focused on watching a sports game on his phone throughout our interaction. This lack of professionalism was both frustrating and disappointing.
- williamk209 (2/5): Uncomfortable Stay and Unhelpful Service - Dear AmericInn Management,
I hope this message finds you well. I recently stayed at your hotel, and I wanted to share my experience regarding the discomfort I encountered during my stay, as well as the lack of assistance I received from your staff.
The primary issue I had was with the bed in my room. It was incredibly hard, making it impossible for me to get any sleep. After struggling for a while, I approached the night auditor, Joe, to see if there was any way to resolve the situation. I asked if it would be possible to try a rollaway bed instead, but Joe informed me that it would cost an additional $10. While I understand that there may be additional charges for certain services, I was surprised by Joe's response, as he also admitted that the beds at your hotel are generally hard, citing his own previous stays.
What was even more frustrating was Joe's complete lack of effort to assist me. Rather than offering a solution or attempting to make my stay more comfortable, he remained sitting at his computer, watching a ball game, with no attempt to offer help or show any concern for my situation.
I was disappointed by the lack of customer service I received, especially given the circumstances. As a guest, I expected a more proactive approach from the staff to ensure a comfortable and pleasant stay, but unfortunately, that was not the case.
I wanted to bring this issue to your attention, as I feel that the service I received fell short of the standards I expected from AmericInn. I would appreciate your consideration of my feedback and any steps you can take to address this matter.
Thank you for your time, and I look forward to your response.
Sincerely,
William Kimbler
- Shelly (8/5): Very good -
- Jennifer (7/5): Good - The breakfast was non existent both mornings that we were there. Both days nothing was restocked, barely a half cup of coffee in the pot. Beds were mildly uncomfortable, bathroom was clean for the most part and the night front desk woman was cranky
- Ginger (10/5): - Front desk attendant was very nice!
- Bradley (8/5): Good - The stay was overall good. There was 1 problem that the hot tub in the pool area had no where to turn the jets on which was very disappointing and only 1 person working the front desk so I couldn’t even go ask her about it because she was busy.
