Guest Reviews
- Benjamin (8/5): - Very helpful staff and cozy atmosphere. Also good location and surprisingly nice breakfast.
- Greg (4/5): - This is below a “budget” level hotel. The cold water knob was taped on, there were holes in the tile and we paid $7 US dollars a day for a heater that worked minimally. Breakfast was minimal but adequate. The location is on the edge of a not so nice part of Cusco. If possible, I recommend to avoid staying here.
- Regina (8/5): - they are very nice
- Verified traveler (8/5): No hot water is a killer - Be aware, if they give you room 102, ask for a change. The hot water in the shower is inconsistent and you would get one minute of hot water and then 5 minutes of cold water and so on, so you would shower for 1 minute and stand in the cold for minutes waiting for the water to get hot again to finish your shower, horrible experience. I stayed for 5 nights so I know what I am talking about.
Everything was great especially for the price, would have been 5 stars if not for the hot water issue.
- Laura (10/5): - Super cute little place, clean and comfortable, close to everything!
- HYUNSOOK (8/5): - 청결해요.
- Francesco (6/5): - Scelta economica e servizi essenziali. Poca spesa, poche pretese.
- Julian (10/5): Very centrally located and comfortable beds - Very centrally located and allowed a very early check in which made a very positive difference from the start
- Laura (10/5): - This small hotel was extremely walkable and the staff was super helpful!
- Laura (10/5): - This place is unreal! We booked for 2 nights in the lead up to a hike and was so pleasantly surprised by the guest house. The rooms are dated but clean and have everything you need. Breakfast included was lovely and we enjoyed sitting on the rooftop terrace to enjoy our morning coffee. Location is also great, so close to many great cafes and restaurants short walk to the main square. Pumamarca guest house is great value for money and I would definitely recommend it for anyone needing a comfortable and cheap place to stay in Cusco.
- Ella (10/5): - The property was well kept as my room was cleanly and the other areas were tidy and clean as well. The staff were friendly and extremely kind and welcoming. Breakfast was good and I felt comfortable and safe in the house as well as in the area. Heads up to anyone that doesn’t speak Spanish, the staff only speaks Spanish. This isn’t a problem however with my limited Spanish knowledge it was sometimes difficult to understand each other. I had an amazing stay and have no complaints, this is just something to keep in mind because if you speak no Spanish you will find the checking in and out a bit more difficult.
- Beverly (8/5): - Great location and price, a little short of hot water.
- CATIA CRISTINA (10/5): - Amei o hostel. Quartos excelentes e localização fantástica!
- Nicoletta (10/5): - The staff is so helpful that they make you feel like family, the breakfast is good and plentiful. They are always available. It is very close to the center, just a few steps away, and there are laundromats and shops around. It's just a bit cold, I recommend very warm clothing even at night. In Cusco, it gets freezing.
- christine (2/5): - No hair dryer. No heater in the room and it was very cold. Wifi was weak that one wrong move could get you disconnected. Curtains were falling apart. No plugs in the room so good luck charging your devices.
I had to leave this hotel and rebook someplace else for the night. Long story short, look elsewhere.
- Andrea (8/5): Cozy but noisy - and cold - I first stayed at a single room on the third floor and that was lovely and not noisy. But later had to change to the first floor, no view and very very noisy. The walls are extremely thin so you can hear what they are talking about next door. The room was also very very cold! The bed had plenty of blankets so no problem to sleep but the floor was so cold. The owners didn’t speak English but the guy working in the evening does. The breakfast was actually really nice, I appreciate it a lot. It’s on a quiet street very close to the historical center.
- KEVIN (10/5): - Excelente ubicación, limpieza, seguridad y servicio
- Manning (10/5): - Nice hosts and beautiful stay! We came late and still got great accommodation. Breakfast was great.
- Catherine (8/5): - Convenient location to the main square and not too hilly.
Basic accommodation with warm bedding. Shower wasn’t great and breakfast was just rolls and jam but nice rooftop views
Siempre apurados.
- Mercedes (10/5): - Muy buena atención, desayuno. Habitación confortable.
- Lisa (10/5): - Good
- Colleen (8/5): - Greeting was good & information about breakfast. Google translate used. Altitude sickness began, they had coca leaves & teas available in the terrace eating room
- Alexander Jesus (10/5): Muy buen lugar - Muy buen lugar y excelente servicio
- Verified traveler (10/5): Muy buen servicio. - Super serviciales y prestos a cualquier consulta.
- Withaya (10/5): New experience - The hostel is hard to find the first time, so do many others hidden in a narrow street up and down along the hill. Walking distance to plaza and old town where plenty of shops, dining and cathedrals. A local market nearby. Breakfast daily was included and daily housekeeping with new fresh towels.
- Molly (10/5): - I loved the breakfast room and the terrace with a spectacular view!
- Verified traveler (10/5):
- Mindjaja (10/5): Great coffee - Lovely little guest house with everything you need catered for. Very helpful owner. Packing us breakfast for going to machu picchu at 03:00 am. Comfortable bed with layers of heavy blankets, cosy and warm. They serve amazing south american coffee at breakfast, unbelievable!
Coca drink available at all time.
Close to everything.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - overall it was alright. you get what you pay for. however i didn’t like how they charge extra 5 percent if you are paying with credit card. also people who were working at the reception doesn’t speak english.
- Patricia (8/5): Muy recomendable y correcto!!!
- Rose (10/5): Excellent guest house - I really enjoyed my stay at Pumamarca. It's not a hotel, it's a guest house, kind of a hostel standard. If you want a western style hotel this is not it. But for me, it made me feel like a guest of a local family. Diego, Roseanna & Neil all speak English. They provide a great breakfast buffet with fruits, yogurt, cheese, ham, local avocado & olives, bread butter & jam. Sometimes other stuff. There is unlimited tea all day long, all types, which is nice. The folks there are overall very kind, helpful & friendly. It's also very close to the center of town, & restaurants, etc. There is a tiny shop to the right as you exit Pumamarca that sells water & just about everything for cheaper than anywhere else around. I would happily stay here again. It's also very economical in price. They also gave me a heater for my room when I asked.
- Stacy (8/5): Good place to stay overall - Other than the rooms being entirely too small even for just one person (it was impossible to open and close my bathroom door without it hitting the bed), this is a good place to stay for a night or two. The hot water works, the WiFi connection is good, the free breakfast is okay, the room has a heater for the cold nights, and the two men who work in reception are extremely helpful. I stayed two nights, and although I would not stay there again (the room was just too small for me), it is a good value for your money in Cusco, and I do recommend it.
- Renee' (10/5): 7 nights in great location - Great location, wonderful staff, great price. Walls are thin so you can hear everyone & everything. No heat so I was cold when not under the heaping covers on the bed.
- Seyed mohammad (8/5): Nice place to stay - For this price it is a perfect place to stay.
Room was clean and hot running water available. I heard the other travelers complaining about hot water in other places in Cusco but I had no problem. I stayed there 3 nights. My room was a little bit noisy and I could hear people upstairs moving around but not a big deal for me. Breakfast is ok, again for this price I did not expect anything more.location is perfect and you can walk to old part and main plaza. I recommend this place.
- Mary (8/5): - Very cute hotel. Nice clean rooms. Great location.
- Ryan T (10/5): Great Stay with Wonderful Breakfast - We stayed for nearly one week in the Pumamarca Guest House. The service was wonderful (the owner even helped us look for apartments to live in Cusco) and the location was spot-on: just minutes away from the Plaza de Armas and the trendy, hip San Blas neighborhood. The hostel is incredibly clean, safe, had hot showers, and a great breakfast. Tea was available, free, throughout the day, and breakfast changed daily but always had the staples of yogurt, toast, jam, granola, fruit, and a daily dish like guacamole or vegetables. You could also add on fried eggs or scrambled eggs for $1 or so more. The wifi ebbed and flowed and seemed better on the lower floors but we were able to watch Netflix on it with our room on the top floor. Also, there is a rooftop area to enjoy your breakfast. Highly recommended!
- YVR (10/5): - Beautiful errare overlooking the city. Delicious breakfast and kind staff.
- matthew (10/5): Great value - We only had a short, one-night stay and had to leave too early to have the included breakfast. However, we did get to see the lovely breakfast room with its spectacular views to watch fireworks that were part of the Cusco solstice festival the night we were there. Excellent service, reasonable price and close to the centro historico.
- Aflex (10/5): - Great location, awesome property. Lots of stairs but worth it. Very secure. Friendly staff and yummy breakfast. Clean comfy rooms. Should've stayed here longer.
- Stan (6/5): Decent Guest House - Decent place. Small but clean rooms. Good service with helpful staff. We didn't have hot shower one night but they fixed it at the end. They let us make our dinner in the kitchen at night which was nice of them ;)
