• Harkiran (2/5): - Rooms were small and not clean. Bathroom were so small, sink was smaller than sink on the plane. We didn't eat breakfast so can't speak on that part
• Tara (6/5): - Athens has many different states of maintained or gentrified states of buildings along its roads. You can have a beautiful looking hotel on one side of the street and then 30m away on the other side of the street you can have a nice looking hotel that is beside a run down park that drug addicts use to get high and pass out. That is where Athens Choice is located, beside that park. It did not feel unsafe because there is a high police presence, but it is unattractive. Also, the hotel stated they have laundry facilities, they do not, but there are many laundromats close by. The breakfast was decent, but no hot items except for hard boiled eggs. You can walk to the Acropolis from here in about 20 mins.

• Ivonne (8/5): - Prima kamer met ontbijt voor overnachting. Parkeergarage aan overzijde hotel voor € 7,00 per dag. Niet ver van metro station. Omgeving niet zo geweldig. Vriendelijke ontvangst.

• teddi (10/5): Great place to stay - The staff was great especially the guy that worked day shift. He had them open breakfast early for us and walked us 2 blocks to where our bus was leaving for our tour. Breakfast was very good and comfortable room and close to attractions.

The breakfast left a LOT to be desired, but at least it was included. The room was spotless, bathroom tiny and the air conditioning worked very well.

• Robert (8/5): - The hotel is very great for what it is. As two students travelling on a budget, we really liked it. The neighbourhood is a little rough, but for the price it's understandable. The breakfast was filling, but just make sure you time it well since the dining area can fill up quickly. All and all if you would like a short stay in Athens at a reasonable price next to a metro connection, it's a solid choice.

Non fanno nulla, ma è molto triste umanamente vederli ridotti così. Posizione vicina alla metropolitana.
• Fulvio (6/5): 6 notti ad Atene - Abbiamo soggiornato per 6 notti; Eravamo 3 colleghi ad Atene per un corso ed abbiamo soggiornato in questo hotel. La camera tripla era molto piccola, però pulita. La colazione semplice. La pecca di questo hotel purtroppo è la posizione. È situato in una via purtroppo frequentata da soggetti che dormono su marciapiedi che definire sporchi è riduttivo. Peccato perché il giudizio sull hotel è positivo.

• Aliyah (6/5): - Athens Choice is suitable for a quick, budget-friendly stay if you’re not expecting much beyond the basics. The location is definitely the highlight, close to hop-on/hop-off bus stops and surrounded by plenty of great food options.The staff were genuinely kind and extremely welcoming, which was a refreshing touch and one of the better aspects of our stay. Unfortunately, the breakfast didn’t live up to the hype in other reviews. It was served cold, and the boiled eggs looked like they’d been made the day before. We ended up grabbing something nearby in the square. Overall, if you're just passing through and prioritize location over comfort, it does the job. But don’t come expecting a full 3-star experience.

• Greg (10/5): Nice place to spend the night or two. - Easy to get to and from the trains. Staff super friendly. Asked for restaurant recommendations and we were never disappointed. It’s quiet area at night so had no problem sleeping but the beds were a little harder than I like. That would be the only negative.

Another thing is that you can hear everything that is happening in the hallway, neighbors showering ande talking on the phone. The price was cheap, but would not book a room there again

• Gloria (10/5): - The hotel is very clean and the staff is wonderful. Breakfast is nice. The hotel is located very close to the metro and good restaurants a 5 minutes walk. The metro takes you to Acropolis/Parthenon and Greek people are very nice. The only thing is the area around the hotel is full of graffiti and it’s dirty but all Athens is like that. We saw 5 star hotels areas the same. However, police headquarters is 200 meters from the hotel. We were told homeless people never bother anyone and the area is safe. We felt safe all the time even walking at night.

• Maribel (4/5): - Excellent customer service from the front desk, very knowledgeable, caring and nice, specially Ross. Very tiny room. Bed sheets twin size for a queen bed. The bathroom is very tiny. The shower is a big joke. No shower head hanger. To take a “shower” you have to be holding the shower head with one hand and soap yourself with just one hand. No curtains in the shower, obviously the water splashes everywhere making a big pool to be standing. The “bar” just exists in pictures. Rooms no soundproof. You can hear a pin drop. Elevator just for one person and a small carryon at a time. Bad neighborhood. No recommended at all!
• Troy (4/5): Omonia is a Dirty, Run-down area!! - The Dirty, Run-Down area full of Homeless people and Hookers ruins this Hotel’s location!! Room is small but adequate for an overnight stay. I’d skip this area if you’re in Athens for a few days though as Monastiraki, Plaka and Acropolis precincts have a much more pleasant atmosphere with a huge selection of outdooor cafe’s, bars, restaurants & shopping!
• LIONEL A (8/5): - Most of the staff were great. The hotel is situated in a bit of a challenging area, but like in most places, the druggies keep to themselves. The situation was much better than I had imagined. Good value.
• Natalya (6/5): - It was OK for one night. Cons: the shower stall is tiny and uncomfortable. The breakfast was very basic. The area outside seems a bit shady and it was very noisy at night. I saw a syringe on the ground right outside the hotel entrance. Pros: the hotel is only 20 mins away from the Acropolis; plenty of dining options; free street parking available.
• Julian (8/5): - A great budget hotel about 30min away from the main tourist areas. Alas we didn't have a high level holder for the shower head but the room was fine for us with comfy beads, air conditioning and a balcony for relaxing at the end of the day.

Otherwise, the facilities, the breakfast, the elevators and the overall unsafe surrounding area are terrible experience. Klimaanlage war aus bei Ankunft. Wenige Meter vom Hotel nach dem Checkout fast Geldbeutel von einem Taschendieb gestohlen worden, rechtzeitig bemerkt. Metro gleich 2 von 3 Linien in 5min Fußweg. The hotel ok, 24h checkin, could be more choice for breakfast but for few days sufficient, room was clean and functional, minibar was unfortunately empty, climate was off at arrival. Few meters from hotel after checkout a pickpocket tried to steal my wallet but I've felt it and could interrupt. Metro 2 of 3 lines in 5min by feet.
• Verified traveler (10/5): A good option to relax at night - Very friendly and helpful staff. The double room is perfect and the breakfast is good. The hotel is very near from de city center, only 15/20 minutos to Monastiraki by walk. The only negative thing is the extrange people in the streets around Omonia Square. They are harmless but some people can be afraid of being troubed or stolen. Anyway, there are a police station in the hotel street. A parking is just in front of the hotel, in case you go by car.

Svabbar golv osv varje dag. + Mycket trevligt bemötande av samtliga i receptionen som har öppet 24h + Shuttle till och från flygplatsen för 15E per person, vilket är billigare än taxi om man är 1-2 och bara snäppet dyrare än metron. + Liten balkong med bord och två stolar. - Rätt ruffiga kvarter med gott om knarkande hemlösa. Inget bråk och de ignorerar en (dvs tigger inte osv) men ingen trevlig miljö för t.ex. barnfamilj - Hårda sängar vilket gjorde oss lite mörbultade - Inget duschdrapperi?! Kom ihåg att ställa undan toapappret och handdukar innan dusch för hela badrummet blir blött och går heller inte att haka fast duschslangen utan måste hålla i den hela tiden. Även dåligt tryck i duschen. - Ok frukost, men inte mycket att välja på så enformig efter några dagar. Stänger redan 10, vilket är tidigt i en stad som är igång hela natten. - Ingen stör ej-skylt så ibland knackar städerskan på och går inte att slippa städning utan att prata med henne. - Otroligt lyhört. Hörde verkligen allt som grannen gjorde och många högludda i korridorer osv. - Toksmå och rangliga hissar, så inget för någon med klaustrofobi.

• John (8/5): Athens Choice Greece - Athens Choice, Greece was a very convenient hotel for walking to the Archaeological museum and the metro. It was a good bedroom and the breakfast was plentiful. A good recommendation.
• JV (10/5): - Great hotel for the price. The shaft was excellent. They gave us great dining recommendations and are very helpful and accommodating. I would definitely recommend it. Area can be a little sketchy from what I saw. There is a park that borders the hotel, where several homeless folks congregate, sleep, etc. I felt safe, as I was traveling with a larger group.

The area is rough but if you ignore the homeless and drug additions then it is a great place for a night or two. The buffet breakfast is basic and fills the need before exploring the city. Enjoy!
• Verified traveler (4/5): Good place to sleep in Athens! - The first day we was very worried because there are a lot of junky and prostitute in this area but the next was we was good. Close to the down town no need to rent a car. Good breakfast! The women’s staff is very friendly, thanks.
• Bradley (4/5): Not the safest area - Hotel is in a terrible neighbourhood. When we arrived the police were chasing people down the street, the was chanting and it sounded like a small riot going on. The taxi driver said there were a lot of problems in the area. Check in was fine and room was clean apart from un emptied bins. Lucky we were only staying for one night
• Paulo (6/5): Poderia ser melhor - O staff não foi muito amigável, a cama era pouco confortável. O chuveiro só tinha protecção de um lado, o que era impossível não encharcar o piso. Pequeno almoço muito limitado. Tinha bons acessos para transporte, e boa zona comercial. A vista parecia que estávamos numa zona de guerra, zona muito mal cuidada, pela própria filosofia da cidade e dos cidadãos. Zona de sem abrigos, drogados e prostituição, no entanto não tivemos problemas nenhuns, nem nunca fomos abordados. Tem uma esquadra de polícia junto ao hotel.

• VASIL (8/5): Good choice for budget staying in Athens - In the city center, close to the metro station and excellent connection to the sights, but in the streets behind the hotel there are suspicious persons, but we do not had problems with them. The rooms are small but clean. The staff was kind and helpful. Breakfast was fine with fresh products.

The elevators are reaaaly small and the beds are kinda bigger for the room. Staff was really. Helpful and friendly. Breakfast was meager... Eggs, milk and cornflakes, bread and jam and juice and fruit.....ur better off paying 5euros around the corner for a good full meal. Its affordable.

• johnny (6/5): - Lovely hotel in one of the most unlovely areas of Athens, but then most of Athens, in the 20 years since I was last there, has gone downhill and looks like a slum. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the rooms were clean. I could have done with a different view from the small balcony, (a small park where homeless junkies greeted me every morning I opened the curtain to see them shooting up) but that’s not the hotels failt.

• Shrikant (8/5): Good hotel in a filthy but safe neighborhood. - Hotel and room were very well kept; location was not very good but safe. The street was kind of back alley and generally filthy. But then that part of old Athens was in general in poor state.
• Ellen (10/5): - After reading some ofthe reviews for the hotel did worry me, but i dont know what all the fuss was about. All of the staff at the hotel were wonderful and welcoming, the bar man recommended places to eat and drink, the receptionists were always friendly. Yes the hotel is in a bit of a dodgy street, but just keep your wits abiut you and theres nothing to worry about as no one will approach you. The hotel is located near some lovely cafes and the metro, within 20 minutes of all the main sights of athens. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
• Margaret (10/5): Athens Choice is the choicest hostel! - Lovely reception, kind staff, very helpful personnel, darling room, good location to all & super welcome.
• Verified traveler (2/5): - Of course, we will get what we pay for. And the hotel is relatively cheaper compared to the other ones, however, the location, it is on is not so good and the surroundings are horrendous. The night I stayed, people outside the hotel are fighting by throwing stones at each other and the glass bottles with a fire. It was a panic moment and later I understood that it was for a football match they fought. This was my experience.

• David and Natasha (4/5): Do not expect a hostel. It's a hotel. - This IS NOT A HOSTEL. The only reason this gets deemed a hostel is because they put some bunkbeds in some of the bed rooms. We've stayed at various hostels so we understand generally the experience. As described already in numerous other reviews, very clean, good staff, area can feel unsettling but didn't really feel and threat to our safety at all. But basic stuff from hostels like daily events, communal spaces for people to meet up aren't there. We weren't even allowed to bring our own alcohol into the common area because there is a bar on premise that they try to force you to buy from and the nights we were there was completely empty. Lockers are not in your room (on 1st floor) so be aware of that and they charge you 1 Euro per night to use locker (cost is inconsequential but it's a bit of a nuisance to even charge this. breakfast is basic but not bad.
• Francisco (8/5): Nice hotel - Nice hotel near the acropolis and metro. The staff was ok but not remarkable in the helpfulness about the tour or some places to visit. Just give a few advices.
• Mark (10/5): Modern - This was very nice, modern and relaxing at a good price. The staff was courteous and professional. The breakfast was above average. They allowed me to keep my luggage there for the entire day after I checked out awaiting a flight.
• Tom (10/5): Modern Hotel/Hostel in a dodgy area. - Central location, five minute walk to the metro. Very modern. Breakfast more than adequate. Neighbourhood full of graffiti and shady people, although felt safe after the first night. Very friendly and helpful staff! Would stay here again!
• Verified traveler (10/5): Just what we needed and easily found from the airp - Fine. We arrived late and tired and we're pleasantly received. Just what we needed.
• Heather (10/5): - It was well located, cheap, clean, and I felt very safe. The only bad thingI could say is that the bathroom was small, but otherwise, this place was perfect for my needs.
• Verified traveler (8/5): Convenient and comfortable - For my one night stay in Athens the single room was very comfortable. The hotel also offers a free walking tour of Athens which I did and which was fantastic.
• Kris (6/5): Great Staff not much space - I stayed in a 4 bed woman's room and there was not much space for each of us. However, the room was clean, the people were sweet, and I felt safe in the hotel. The neighborhood looks a bit questionable but it the surrounding food places and the businesses that are open have amazing operators! I was pleasantly surprised but would have preferred to stay in a room made for 2 where there is much more space.
• Verified traveler (10/5): Great budget hostel in dodgy neighborhood - I really like this hostel for the new condition, ensuite bathroom, comfortable bunk beds , air con, daily towels service and lavish breakfast included. Very clean and modern. However the main drawback is its location in a seedy part of town. While central to many sights (short walk to omonia square metro stop which is one or two stops to syntagma square, acropolis and monastiriki etc ) the street itself is dirty and full of shuttered store and graffiti with people loitering at night who look like drug addicts and the like. I practically sprint my way from the metro to the hostel every night I stayed there. If you are a guy or traveling in a group it may be a safe choice.
• Hee Young (6/5): It was very clean like a hotel. - A staff was nice but was not let me use lower bed so a little uncomfortable
• Verified traveler (8/5): Nice Youth Hostel - Nice hostel with small rooms of 4, so you aren't sharing with too many people. Beds are comfortable, shower is decent, rooms have air conditioning. There are lockers (Not in the rooms) for storing luggage during the day and breakfast was nice. Location isn't ideal as it is on a bit of a dodgy street, but it is walking distance from the centre and the acropolis.
