Guest Reviews
- kim (9/5): Wonderful place, staff very friendly, food good, just a shame the full English breakfast is not included! - Clean spacious rooms. Staff were great.
- Edwards (10/5): - Friendly staff, lovely food!
- Conrad (8/5): -
- Sue (3/5): Adequate but not pleasant and would not return. - Breakfast was good and well cooked. Carpets were very stained and worn. Decor was shabby.
Very noisy at 7 am with beer kegs being offloaded under window.
- Collins (8/5): Would return, great staff but could do with a refurb in some areas. - Pub, food (we paid for hot breakfast) and outdoor area were all really good. Staff were fantastic. Beds and pillows really comfortable and room really clean. Was further from Bridgnorth low town than we thought but that was our error, it is walkable if you are mobile but we jumped in an uber for £5 so it didn't impact us. We would return even though I have put points to improve on, but do think the room prices we paid for how basic our rooms were is a bit high, we thought we were paying for the nicer rooms shown on the photos especially as we had to pay for hot breakfast on top. I do recommend especially the staff who were great but it really needs a bit of an upgrade in the rooms we were in and definitely the stair carpet. The rooms we were put in were a lot more basic and smaller than photos online. The carpet on the stairs was absolutely filthy and the flooring in bathroom really needs replacing, it was clean but because its very worn it looked awful. There was only one small handing rail on wall with 4 hangers, no storage space or shelves. The plug was opposite end of room to mirror so using hairdryer, straighteners was difficult.
- colin (9/5): - Staff were Very pleasant could not do enough for us.
Food was great..
Would recommend a stay here.
The best hotel we have stayed in Bridgnorth.
- Jason (8/5): -
- David (8/5): Welcoming and clean - Clean place with friendly staff. Small room and very tiny bathroom sink. Kitchen closed very early at 19:30hrs.
- Paula (9/5): - The staff and food were excellent Nothing
- Wayne (1/5): Zero rating - Nothing The staff
- Guest (9/5): -
- Conor (6/5): Convienient, comfortable. - The staff were very friendly, the room was clean and the bed was comfortable. We had dinner in the hotel one night with friends and it was lovely. The breakfast, the heat in the room. The only way to try and cool the room was to open the window, which didn't open much. Also the extractor in the bathroom didn't work,
There was a continental breakfast, two of the three mornings we were charged for the coffee. We tried the cooked breakfast once and then went out for it. Sadly the Sausages and scrambled eggs were not good.
- Graham H (10/5): I'm glad I found it. - The food was great, the room was comfortable and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
- Emma (9/5): -
- William (7/5): Adequate but value for money with helpful, friendly staff. - Assistance by staff Small room
- mary (9/5): Very helpful and cheerful staff made my stay enjoyable. - Good choice for breakfast
Lovely views Carpets on stairs and in room need to be replaced. cleaned, but not a huge problem
- PHILIP (10/5): -
- Nathalie (9/5): A comfortable stay. Positives far outweighed the negatives. - Early check in was a bonus! Plus continental style breakfast included (albeit a limited selection). Good sized bedroom and fab shower. Room was a little on the shabby side (some peeling paint) and the tissue holder had come off from the wall in the bathroom.
- Nicholas (9/5): Excellent location and a comfortable hotel. - Room was very comfortable and the hotel was ideally situated between upper and lower town. Everything was walkable. The inclusive continental breakfast was indifferent and you might want to pay the little extra for the full English.
- Mark (8/5): Will be staying again in a week’s time, so more than happy with hotel. - Comfy room, plenty of hot water, good beer. Bathroom very tight, breakfast only available from 8am which is too late for business travellers.
- Tina (10/5): -
- BRIAN (10/5): Definitely using this hotel again - Great parking facilities, nice atmosphere in the pub and burning area.
Food was of a good standard for pub food.
Staff amazing especially staff member ‘Poppy’
She was so helpful.
- Ilike goingaway (7/5): Nice hotel with good food and drinks - Large comfortable room. Ample parking. Food in the evening. Buzzy atmosphere. Local real ales on tap. That a cooked breakfast wasn't included in the room rate, just continental.

- Sue (8/5): Great location, lovely interior. - The room was very tastefully decorated. The bed was huge and comfortable.
We had a meal in the restaurant…. The food was lovely and the staff attentive. There was a boiler noise throughout the night which kept waking us up.
Continental breakfast was included that was very basic.
We were offered toast but it never came.
- Amy (7/5): Was ok - Staff were nice Dirty glass in room from previous guest, pillows and bed not the comfiest but ok value.
- Rose (8/5): Nice weekend getaway - Good atmosphere and choice of beers.Comfy.Plentiful parking. Nice bedroom. The cleaning and departing guests were noisy.Hoovering at 8.30 is over keen.
Bar food was a bit pricey but good.
- Gwen (10/5): -
- Glenys (9/5): Perfect for our visit - Suited our needs perfectly
friendly, clean, easy parking, lovely outdoor area
Lovely log burner making it very warm and cozy Would have
Liked a bottle of water in room
- Natalie (8/5): Clean, comfortable, good food & drink, short walk from town - Breakfast was great. Continental included but option of hot breakfast for additional price which was lovely and not badly priced.
- Steven (9/5): Friendly staff and good value for money - Beautiful breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff. Good value for money and quiet location Not much storage space in the room i.e. wardrobe, bedside unit
- Sarah (10/5): -
- Robinson (9/5): -
- Ian (8/5): -
- Freeman (8/5): - Food good staff excellent, good location r Room was a little cramped, bathroom sink far too small
- Paula (8/5): Very very nice place , lovely staff nothing was too much trouble , would definitely stay again . - The staff were very efficient , beautiful decoration, lovely breakfast , value for money , very clean . We came on a really hot day and the windows only opened a couple of inches , could do with a fan, it was unbearable 🥴
- Olivia (8/5): -
- Lesley (7/5): Excellent for few days away , super friendly staff and great food. - Very helpful and friendly staff. Food excellent and good value. Rooms very warm and comfortable. Location just a bit out of town. But not a big issue.
- Peter kevin (10/5): - Great staff very accommodating Liked everything
- Natasha (5/5): Possible bad run of luck from woodberry that impacted our stay. - Staff were really lovely friendly. Room was nice and spacious with all the amenities.
Bar area was very welcoming and cosy. Very noisy late at night. Had to call front desk to complain about other guests at 1.30am (Thursday night) Obviously not the fault of woodberry inn. Both nights we stayed a lot of noise from the car park outside between 3am and 4am.
Food was disappointing. Mediocre at best. Although apparently someone had had an accident mid service that night in the kitchen.
- Nia (9/5): -
- Wendy (10/5): -
- Cook (7/5): -
- Angela (9/5): Comfortable and friendly stay.. - Staff were lovely and helpful
Room clean
Coffee in room good
Overall very pleasant
- Nigel (8/5): It did what it said on the can. More than satisfied. - After a very good meal in their bar the previous evening, I had a basis continental breakfast which was in with the room price and was more than adequate. The cooked breakfasts neighbouring tables had at extra cost looked very good though. Nothing.
- Paul Mezen (8/5): Lovely Woodberry inn. - Lovely location, great service , friendly, breakfast fantastic. I think ,on the whole , weighing everything up, maybe breakfast could have been in the price ?
- Georgina (10/5): Great hotel, great staff - Nothing not to like Liked everything
- patricia (10/5): Enjoyable - The location was perfect for us The pillows were too hard for me prefer a softer pillow but that's just me
- Lydia (9/5): Clean, comfortable, friendly staff - There was a complementary continental breakfast which I didn't expect as when I booked it just said breakfast costs £10 which is only if you want a cooked one. The pictures on the walls in my room and the fact that the room had a grey theme
- Neal (10/5): -
- elizabeth (10/5): Brilliant - Lovely place nice staff
- Malcolm (7/5): -
- Lorraine (10/5): Friendly hotel, nothing too much trouble - I was there under sad circumstances and the staff couldn’t of been anymore helpful, I took my puppy which I was apprehensive about as not done that before but the lovely ladies cleaning the room next to me looked after him while I got breakfast and also helped me to the car either my bags, I’m sorry I’ve forgotten her name but her daughter was having a baby shower later, she was fabulous.
Thank you, I will definitely stay there again next time I come , everyone was welcoming and friendly. Nothing
- Kathy (9/5): We enjoyed a lovely stay, very relaxing, staff we brilliant, nothing was too much trouble, would definitely stay again. - Nice location, staff were very friendly and helpful, food was good, property was spotless, a really enjoyable stay. There was nothing I disliked about our stay.
- paul (9/5): -
- Evie (7/5): Enjoyable stay, reasonably priced. - Large room and bed, the bed also was very comfortable. Good value for money. Just outside Bridgnorth. Staff very friendly and professional. The entryway up to the rooms could do with some attention e.g stained carpets.
- Rob (8/5): -
- Claire (7/5): -
- Rutter (10/5): Lovely stay - Lovely staff
Beautiful room
Very comfortable bed
Clean Nothing
- Paul (9/5): Very pleasant stay as usual. I’ll be back again next year. - Quiet location. Comfortable room, very clean, ample parking.
- michael (10/5): -
- Paul (8/5): Great base for exploring the town. - Good position above the town, easy car parking. Food good. Some carpets grubby leading to bedrooms. Room described as deluxe but pretty basic facilities.
- neil (8/5): -
- Gail (8/5): Confortable and friendly overnight stay in Bridgenorth - Very convenient for walking into Bridgnorth. (about 10 minutes). We stayed on a Friday night in room Tasley and it was spacious , clean and a huge comfy bed. tea, coffee and a tasimo coffee machine in the room. Also a room safe. Shower was good and the water in the bathroom was very hot. Great. Big fluffy towels. The room overlooks the side patio which was quite busy from around 4.30 to 8 ish with an afterwork/family crowd. After 9 we found it quiet and slept well. We ate in the restaurant and the food was fresh cooked and good. Simple continental breakfast was included ( boxes of cereal and pastries, juice and tea /coffee)A variety of fresh hot breakfasts were available to order. We had a full English and poached eggs on toast. Both were very well cooked and £16 for the two. Owner, assistant manager and staff were all very personable and friendly. Ou room was ready at 12pm so we were able to check in early. Big carpark and we were able to leave our car there on Saturday morning to wander in to the town before coming back for lunch. (chicken kebabs with chilli and lime, delicious) Minor points but still not liked. My pie crust was quite hard ( a common problem with lots of pub pies I find so I was prepared for that) but it tasted very nice. I ordered beer battered onion rings and got supermarket breaded onion rings. I told the waitress who then came back about five minutes later with some thin onion slices that had been quickly battered and fried. (tasty but not the thick golden onion rings expected) and a story of how the new chef didn't know this was how to cook them. Handled well ish but if you're selling beer battered onion rings then make sure thats what you deliver. Had it just said onion rings I would not have questioned it. I did tell the assistant manager as we left and he jokingly commented he'll beer batter the chef so hopefully they'll either alter the printed menu (or tell you) or make sure you get fresh beer battered onion rings. All that said the food generally was really , really good, the restaurant was busy and we would definitely go back.
- Jeremy (8/5): very good and comfortable one night stay - Breakfast very good and staff very friendly nothing
- Christopher (8/5): -
- guy (4/5): - Friendly staff Room was small. Bedsheets cheap. Mastic around shower was mouldy. No effort on decoration or dressing the room. All in all pretty depressing.
- Felisandro (8/5): -
- Janette (1/5): Still no refund a month later and Booking.com seem to be obstructing this - For the second stay, the Hotel left the speakers (in the loos!) on all night with banging rock music right below the bed. No sleep. Then agreed refund which, despite chasing them and Booking.com (the latter keep asking me for yet more information despite hotel confirming refund to be made, suspect just intend that I go away and don't get refunded). Still no refund a month later.
- Zoe (10/5): Lovely night stay! - The welcoming decor and the room was finished to a high standard. Welcoming staff and lovely big hut stay. Nothing
- John (8/5): -
- Bowden (8/5): One night reunion - The inn was clean and comfortable. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble for them. The continental breakfast was adequate and the restaurant food was tasty and good value for money. There were 6 of us and we were able to sit in the public areas and chat for as long as we wanted. For two of us, we were woken early on the Wednesday morning (6.30-7.15 am) by the delivery and removal of beer barrels. If and when returning, I would check which morning this delivery happens but it hasn't put us off returning.

- HELEN (10/5): Excellent value - Great value, comfortable beds, friendly staff, nice complimentary continental breakfast. Highly recommend, will return if in the area.
- Susan (7/5): Good on the whole. - Friendly and helpful staff. Food was good.
Room was big.
Bed was comfortable. Lack of sufficient electric sockets for devices. Lack of shelf space in the bathroom.
Lack of decent wardrobe.
One day the cleaner did not clean the room.

- Ruth (9/5): -
- Graham (9/5): -
- Helen (10/5): Great stay - Friendly staff. Very accommodating with early check-in.
- Kathryn (7/5): Clean, nice staff. Food offering could be better. - More a pub than a hotel but very clean and comfortable.Friendly welcome and pleasant staff Probably my fault but didn't appreciate that this only included a buffet style breakfast which was quite sparse.
Evening meal, variable with partner enjoying tasty sausage and Mash but my veg lasagne was limited to tomatoes and a few mushrooms and a bit tasteless.Although in fairness. the waitress did offer another one.
- Charlie (9/5): Superb -
- Tina (10/5): We had an absolutely amazing time and couldn't fault the staff in any way! - The staff at the hotel were amazing and couldn't do enough to help! The food was lovely and the room was clean. Nothing not to like!
- Mark (8/5): Very good -
- Russell (8/5): Had a great time in Bridgnorth and would recommend this property. - Friendly staff good location Nice clean rooms helpful staff
- Michael (2/5): Poor - Nothing really The room was dirty. The bathroom was dirty with very little amount of toilet roll or shower gel in the facilities. The bathroom floor smells of urine. The shower cubicle was dirty. We are hundred percent sure this room was not cleaned before we stayed very very disappointed for the amount of money we spent.
