Guest Reviews
- Mrs (10/5): Lovely stay - Super clean and comfy. Breakfast was delicious. Staff were lovely. The complimentary gifts were very thoughtful. View from room was nice.
- Freddie (10/5): - One of the best hotel experiences I’ve had. I can’t thank the staff at An Mor enough, from arrival to leaving the service was outstanding.
- Alexander (8/5): Very good - Hotel is much better inside than it appears from the outside. Service was excellent, our original room smelt of smoke and the staff dealt with it straight away. They provided us with complimentary drinks and moved us to another room.
- Christopher (2/5): An Mor? No, much less! - No staff visible at any time. If you needed anything you had to find the staff. Lift out of order. No servicing of rooms, restaurant closed, bar deserted (no staff). Breakfast was buffet with awful scrambled egg substitute with undercooked everything! Just unwelcoming and no effort made to create a welcoming atmosphere. Blamed everything on COVID. Charged as if it was a full service hotel but no service at all. Very disappointing.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - A bit noisy
- Caroline (10/5): Good hotel, great location - We only stayed here for 1 night. The room was very clean and a good size.
The staff members were very helpful and went out of their way to help.
We would stay here again.
- Henry (10/5): Great stay at great hotel - Very good stay. Room was up to date, well presented and faultlessly clean.
Location is fantastic for access to Summerleaze beach; less than five minutes walk.
- Robert (10/5): reat place - Had a lovely stay, really nice staff, always felt safe with our lovely Covid restrictions, lovely room, very clean...awesome shower. Kieran served an amazing breakfast in the morning and was an absolute legend.
- JasonandFamily (10/5): - Super friendly staff. Clean rooms and great location. What more could you want.
Breakfast was great, after which we took the 5 minute stroll to the beach and explored the rock pools etc with the Children.
It was a real break away from the daily grind, very relaxing.
- Elia (10/5): - We just stayed there over August Bank Holiday Weekend. The service was exceptional. Rooms were clean and comfortable. All staff went out of their way to be helpful and accommodating. Hotel restaurant was closed because of Corona. Staff allowed us to bring take away to eat at restaurant, providing us with plates and cutlery. Excellent location for beach access and walks around town. Highly recommended Hotel
- Janet (10/5): - Friendly staff, excellent location. Especially appreciated the opportunity to have a takeaway at the hotel if we wanted
- Gary (10/5): - Really good
- Sarah (10/5): - This hotel was lovely. A great location and a lovely clean hotel. A lovely start to our family holiday.
- Robert (10/5): Great hotel - so convenient for town and beach - We just stayed one night but had a warm welcome and a great room with a view over the river and old church. The Decor is fun and being able to walk (150 yards) into town was great. Tasty breakfast with good service. We will definitely return
- michael (8/5): ude - Nice hotel, the tv did’nt work until the staff member re tuned it,then it was no problem.the ceiling fan did not work until the staff fitted a new battery in the remote control.both of these defects should have been checked before guests arrive.
- Brian (10/5): Top Hotel. - Excellent hotel, excellent staff, excellent food, it shows when a hotel is run by a family. Most enjoyable stay.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Stunning views great hotel
Only drawback lack or parking there was a wedding there they took all the hotel parking spaces and in Bude you have parking res 7 days a week??
And breakfast was added to bill should have been included
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Lovely clean and comfortable, great dinner and amazing breakfast
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The room was that hot it wouldnt cool down ,its the worst night sleep we have ever had
- Peter (10/5): A great place to stay - A great place to stay to explore the western coast of southern England. Good rooms but poor WiFi in the room, excellent food.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Once we had discovered how to regulate the heating, the room was very comfortable and the bed extremely so. The staff were welcoming and helpful
- maxine (10/5): Christmas break - Lovely stay at An Mor over Christmas and lovely food, we will be returning
- Rachel (8/5): - Nice quirky hotel. Very good staff. Food good. Excellent location in Bude but down a quiet road. Very good value for money. Will stay there again if in Bude.
- DER (10/5): - Had a good last minute deal so we could walk some of the SW Coast Path. Fantastic location. We had a top floor room which looked over the canal and out to sea. Very comfortable bed. Had a 3 course meal which was all very tasty. Thatcher's Gold cider on tap :-) Husband said it was one of the best steaks he had had. Breakfast was very good too. We would defintely go back and stay again to explore that area further. (We only live an hour's drive away.) Definitely recommend the SW Coast path to Widemouth and back via the canal as a walk - the hotel gave us a print out of the route.
- Ricardo (10/5): - Great location in centre of Bude. Room small but very comfortable. Room and bathroom exceptionally clean. I've stayed in hotels 5 times the price and this hotel beats easily beats them in terms of standards of hotel, room and quality of staff. If/when I come back to Bude, whether on business or for pleasure I will definitely try and book a room here.
- Karen (10/5): - Great hotel. Perfect location for walking around the town & beach. Nicely renovated with lots of neat art. Staff are really friendly & helpful. The restaurant was one of the best meals we have had on this trip. Definitely eat there even if you aren’t staying at the hotel (but you should stay at the hotel)
- Eleanor (4/5): Overpriced tiny room but excellent location. - Overpriced for the room we pay for. We stayed for two night, we normally pay about £100 per night but because it was my birthday we pay £150 per night. On arrival I was disappointed, we got a room that was tiny & dark and at the back of the hotel. I was surprised to see no minibar fridge in the room, luckily we don’t have medicine that need to be in fridge. The lobby was crammed full of props, the props are quirky but will be better if they are in bigger room or less props. The location was excellent, short walk to the centre of Bude and to beaches. Won’t stay here again for £150, I saw other hotels cheaper than this one and I’m sure the size of room are similar.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Friends night out in Bude - Great location, lovely friendly staff and rooms were well equipped and comfy.
Car parking ideal and even had an email warning about road works, all very helpful.
Would recommend to friends
- Jessie (6/5): - Pleasant hotel, near to town and the beaches.
Accommodation comfortable, and clean.
- melanie (6/5): Not so great. - They need to decide if they are a sports bar or a hotel. The common areas upstairs could do with an update. Also there is a lot of noise from the kids adventure accommodation in front of the building with kids singing from 7.30am.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Fun hotel in beautiful location - The staff were all lovely and very helpful, really made the hotel. The room was quite small but it did have a small sea view. The breakfast was fine, though poached eggs a little undercooked, but scrambled eggs lovely. We would stay again.
- cdw (10/5): Fab place - I cannot fault our stay- the place is great, spotless, comfy spacious rooms, good food, friendly staff,& possibly the best beer garden in the whole of Bude, overlooking the bay.
- Sandra (6/5): Too pricey for room only. Go to Tommy jacks - The room was deluxe sea view for £100. Found on arrival room only so quite expensive. Room irregular shape and didn't feel that big. View of adventure centre next door which gratefully was closed for refurbishment. Craned neck in bay window to see a glimpse of the sea. No bath. No bottle water (could have provided glass if Cornwall is going plastic free), only one type of tea and cheap pack of biscuits so nothing given away for the 100 pounds. Bed comfortable and spotlessly clean so in conclusion just over priced. Have stayed at sister hotel Tommy jacks and far better room and value and included breakfast.
- Peter (10/5): - The food in the restaurant is to die for. Pity the stay was only two nights.
- Alan (10/5): Blissful weekend away - Lovely warm welcoming. Rooms very clean. We couldn't tell the rooms apart they all looked the same fron standard double to deluxe but didn't ruin our stay. Breakfast was just as we expected good choice. Staff were helpful band pleasant to talk to.
We would go back again and would recommend to people Bude is a very pretty place to visit.
- Matt (10/5): Weekend stay - We were attending a wedding in Bude and needed a hotel close to the town centre but at a reasonable price given we would be out most of the time.
The choices left were limited but I read a few reviews and decided to go for the Amor. Whilst I was fine with the quirky look of the hotel I feared my parents might not appreciate the different look.
When we got there we were met by the reception staff and in the room within minutes which was perfect. Each room was very plush and felt like the renovation of the hotel was done the previous month as it felt all new. I loved the quirky decor and it really made the most of what is an older built hotel to bring it to life, a bland uplift would have still felt like an old hotel so I think they did the right thing in going for an edgy look. Also my parents really enjoyed it and found all the art work interesting whilst taking pleasure in explaining to me every reference from their era.
Everything is done to a high standard and the staff couldn't do enough for us at breakfast, and the cooked breakfast was excellent!
The hotel is also a 2 min walk to the town centre and 5 mins walk in the opposite direction for the beach, so perfect location. Car parking is a little limited but wasn't a problem for us in the middle of July.
If I need to stay in Bude again I'd just book straight up here again without the need to look around, great price, pleasant staff, and perfect location.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very nice hotel with great breakfast and situated in the centre of Bude. Only stayed one night but enjoyed our stay.
- gpdarace (6/5): Ok stay for an ok hotel - Would be nice if when staying at a hotel the hotel inform the guests there are private parties which go on all night.
Also in this modern age internet when advertised should be offered
- Jay (8/5): - Very happy with this hotel ,staff very friendly and helpful . Room large, clean and excellent views
Great location for the beach or shops and resturants
- sue and mime (10/5): Best hotel in Bude - From the minute we walked in we knew we had chosen well. Excellent interesting reception and the staff were amazing. The place was spotless, friendly and comfortable. Location was perfectly situated
- Katie (10/5): Lovely - Really nice room, great location , good food, helpful staff
- Deborah (8/5): - Music from the restaurant was very noticeable in our room on the first floor, didn't spoil our stay but could have done without it. Staff very friendly and helpful. Really enjoyed Bude and surrounding area.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great location, fab views and good breakfast - Loved our stay in Bude - the beach, costal walks, restaurants and town all provide a perfect way to enjoy the English seaside.
Hotel was in a brilliant location and the room was well equipped, with a great wifi signal - no problems streaming the third Lions test 😄
A few points to note - parking is limited and the local pay and displays are £6.50 for 24 hours - although a very short walk. The beds are soft - too soft for our liking. No air conditioning and south facing means the rooms become warm (there's a ceiling fan if you can tolerate it whirring above your head whilst you sleep). The terrace bar played music until 11pm on Friday night - busy with lots of loud voices - so don't expect an early night - best to go and join in. The other guests can spoil your stay - we endured an obnoxious family who slammed doors and chatted right underneath our bedroom window until after 12:30 and then were obnoxious to the night porter after we asked them to go indoors or keep the noise down. Maybe if the room had air conditioning we could have simply shut the windows!
I'd happily go back - just hope not to have inconsiderate guests staying at the same time.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Overrated guest house. - Arrived at the hotel to check in and the receptionist wasn't actually sure if the room was ready or not. Some other people in the queue had to wait for their room to be finished.
Not enough staff around which meant that people could not wait in the bar and have a drink as the receptionist also ran the bar.
The room was ok but the staff were noisy in the morning playing music too loud very early.
Returned to the hotel after dinner to have a drink in the bar at 10:30 still no bar staff and there was absolutely no atmosphere.
- Neil (10/5): Good - An all round very good hotel in a central location. For the price I paid it was of much superior quality to that which i was expecting.
- Sandra (10/5): Great group of hotels - Staff were very friendly and helpful - room of a good size and good view. Quirky décor but that's what makes this group of hotels different to the run of the mill seaside stopovers.
- kath (10/5): Lovely hotel close to beach - Staff very friendly and lovely breakfast. Close to beach and to town. Will definitely stay again.
- David (10/5): Relaxing place in Bude - A good place to stay, quirky boutique style hotel, staff were great, good room, with the hotel just 5 minutes walk to Bude centre,
- L (8/5): Second visit.... - We stayed here (again) for a weekend. The hotel is in a great position although set too far back for sea views from most of the rooms. We booked a superior room and had lovely views across the canal to the castle.
- June (10/5): Surprise birthday party - It was a very clean friendly hotel
