Guest Reviews
- John (10/5): - The staff was friendly and helpful. They are in the prcess of doing additions and upgradss to the hotel, but was still very clean and quite.
- Dean (10/5): Excellent Hotel - The whole stay was Excellent! The girls at check-in were so friendly and helpful.
The Dream Catcher's restaurant food and staff was superb.
The room was very clean and comfortable.
The cleaning staff was great and helpful in exchanging towels and taking the trash.
Can't say enough about our stay.
- Andrew (10/5): - Great place for a concert we will be back
- Nathan (10/5): - Nice place
- Thomas (8/5): - Everything was wonderful, but the bed was too hard.
- Dean (10/5): - We are extremely happy with room remodel. The rooms are very nicely updated and comfortable. This resort is back to one of our very favorite places to stay and play. Love the non smoking casino as well! Well done.
- jamie (8/5): - Room was fine
- John (10/5): - Always a great.stay
- Susan (8/5): - Check was easy. Staff pleasant. Access to to parking was a bit confusing.
- Bronson (8/5): - Overall a nice hotel, but the WiFi is horrible and cable for the TV goes out.
- Betty (10/5): - Staff and clean rooms..also good entertainment and meal
- Chris (8/5): - The hotel was nice. It is currently under renovation. The main part of the hotel was very nice and clean. The newly renovated rooms were great. The beds unfortunately were not that comfortable. Thankfully we only stayed one night. Also the pool was decent but needed a refresher.
- Bronson (8/5): - WiFi is horrible and the tv cable goes out.
- Erin (10/5): - Thanks
- Julie (8/5): - Freindly staff, clean, reasonable prices on food. Easy to find our room
- Christopher (2/5): - This place was so terrible that I would've rather slept in a dumpster. It was under construction which was not discovered until arriving. There wasn't a clear and precise indication on which door to enter for check-in. They had a concert going on so the whole facility was full of less than desirable people all smoking and making noise. We couldn't find a place to park and no sufficient lighting was available for the parking area. They claimed that there were restaurants which there was only 1 available that had a menu smaller than an Irish pub. The items on the menu were even less appealing as if it shared resemblance to nursing home food. The decor was a mirror of a nursing home. The concert was so loud that we could clearly hear it from the 5th floor we were put on. I finally went down and complained as was told they had no other rooms available and also was told it would last another 10 to 15 minutes. After an hour it finally stopped. We didn't stay the 2nd night as originally planned. All we wanted to do was leave. Couldn't wait to leave there. Biggest mistake and the worst part of the whole trip was the idea to stay there.
- Beth (8/5): - Nice place
- Mike (10/5): - It's okay
- Mike (6/5): - Room was very dated and musty.
- Mike and Dayle (10/5): - Beauty
- Patricia (8/5): - Casino is quite small. The room was clean and staff was very nice.
- Jayne (10/5): - Excellent customer service, very reasonably priced, no smoking (yeah!), and room was great (extra towels are a plus if needed). Will stay again.
- Jesse (10/5): - Clean room
- Jayne (8/5): - Some construction so parking is further away than desired. Staff were all super helpful and welcoming. Room is immaculate and though I don't need them the extra towels are appreciated.
- Valarie (10/5): - The parking lot is way too far from hotel. And it’s full of pot holes
- Wayne (10/5): - Great price considering comparable property in Canada was aprx $300CDN per night and we paid $106CDN all in!!!
- Sharon (10/5): - Very nice accommodations
- KAREN (10/5): - Didn’t use gym.
Rebecca at the desk was AWESOME and sweet with accommodating our needs.
- Neil (8/5): - Wonderful place, as expected for a Casino. Machines paid out ok. Great room, clean, water could be hotter in th shower for my liking.
- Lesa (8/5): - The room was clean and quiet. The TV wouldn't connect and after trying to call twice for assistance and getting a voicemail option we gave up on the TV. The parking lot was in desperate need of repairs, it was also confusing as to where you park (GPS was inaccurate). Overall the stay was nice, the casino was convenient and we enjoyed our stay.
- Sylvester (10/5): - Clean room
- Patricia (10/5): - The staff was so friendly and the room was great!
- Christine (8/5): - Concrete in walks and parking in very bad shape, dirty floors, even gum stuck on the floors inside. Room not bad, someone elses hair in the shower. Food was good.
- Doug (10/5): - Great hotel, but currently under construction.
- Lakeesha (6/5): - The room temperature was fine. The room was older and the wallpaper was ripped on the wall. Coffee maker in the bathroom was not desirable. The bed was comfortable. The mini fridge made noise.
- Michael (10/5): - Friendly check in. Interior fine. Lots of construction outside. Pot holes i parking lot
- John (6/5): Trip North - This was the first time I was placed into the older part of the hotel. The room felt more like an older Motel 6
- Lee (10/5): - I liked the hotel lobby staff, clean room, deli philly sandwhich and ample parking
- Andrew (10/5): - Staff was great! Rooms are newly remodeled Had problems with Tv not working and they worked hard to resolve the problem
- Julie (10/5): - Great spot.
- Michelle (10/5): - My only complaint was the lack of sit down dining options. Their main restaurant was closed on Monday & Tuesday leaving only the Trail Deli as a breakfast option. The food at the deli was delicious and low-priced but it was usually pretty crowded due to lack of another breakfast option in the hotel. Everything else was just fine. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the staff was friendly and helpful and they kept the renovation noise down to a minimum.
- Joseph (6/5): Will be Nice when it's complete - It was nice to see that there was renovating happening, as the hotel needed to be updated. However, we had some issues due to the fact that room wasn't fully checked out and operating before they put us in. We were inconvenienced more than once. However, after persistence and patience, we were compensated some for our struggles.
- Jeffrey (8/5): - The hotel had just been remodeled so everything was new in there. The rooms are outstanding except for all the wires under the desk I got my leg caught in them. Bathrooms with shower and glass doors and awesome mirror were great.
I got there at 2.39pm on the 14th, one old lady working front desk. Told here I reservations and she said I would not be able to check in till 4pm. So I went to sit and wait. Well 10 minutes later a couple came in and she checked them in, then another 4 more people checked in the next 15 minutes. So I went up again and went to a more friendly front desk person who checked me right in with no problems almost an hour before 4pm. And I could see that older lady looking at me out of the corner of her.
- John (6/5): Better, but ..... - The hotel refurbish is nearly complete and the rooms are fresh and clean. There's new tile in the bathrooms and (thank God) they've replaced the horrible motion-sputtering faucets with proper ones. There are super cheap shampoo, conditioner and body soap dispensers in the nice shower, but no lotion, and no soap dish for the sink bar of soap.
The room was a little dark. Our room had a nice floor lamp, but no place to plug it in. BEWARE of the razor sharp bedpost! It drew blood from my wife's leg. Also be aware there are not suitcase stands in the rooms. Apparently you have to request one because people were stealing them.
All in all, the rooms are a good deal for the (pre-casino) price. ;-)
But the constant sound of room doors slamming made it hard to get any good sleep. The doors are designed to close softly, until nearly closed, then they slam shut with a horrendous noise. Hope they can adjust that!
- Winnie (6/5): - I liked the convenience walking to the casino but i wanted to stay in the newer hotel and they put us in the old part. Furniture and everything in the room looked old. I booked it a long time before and they said there was no rooms left in the new part. Dissapointing.
- MICHAEL (10/5): - Liked it just fine.
- Sheri (10/5): - They are currently renovating the public areas and I think it will be wonderful when they are done. This is a casino and the layout is very well designed.
- Brandi (10/5): Wonderful stay - It was fabulous! Deli offered many great options for foods. I was upgraded to a suite as I was traveling alone.
- THOMAS (4/5): - No cold water at sink, or stopper. Intermittent Internet
- Richard (8/5): - Need a shelf in the bathroom for your clothes
- Diane (10/5): - Everything was perfect!
- Robert (10/5): - We stayed on one of the newly renovated rooms. Love the layout. Also they didn't have the inconvenient barn slide door for the bathroom like other hotels. BIG PLUS !!
Will absolutely stay here again when we're in the Upper Peninsula.
- James (10/5): - Clean room, cool building, kind staff
- Kelly (10/5): - Easy check in nice hot tub like every place short help
- james (10/5): - Just what we wanted
- Jill (8/5): - Arrived late, left early. Room was clean, front desk staff was friendly.
- Cynthia (10/5): - Was a great stay.
- kurt (8/5): - They are obviously renovating
- David (4/5): - No lights in the rooms so had to use phone flashlight
- Jason (2/5): East Wing BS - The decor is very dated. You can tell where a mirror was just taped to the bathroom door. Wall paper was peeling at the seems. Carpet was ok but you could tell everything in the room was 20+ years older. The only positive was the water pressure in the shower. Pool was ok. I didn't even get the room I thought I had booked in the actual hotel, but thats partially hotel.com's fault, I'm sure. We ended up placed in the East Wing, away from the nice part. Reminded me of an old folks home from the 90's. Went to Dream Catchers, the casino restaurant, to have breakfast. I was greeted by the rudest hostess who was clearly upset Iasked for a high chair for my grandson. Then after 15 minutes, my wife asked a server passing through if we could at least put in our drink order. 5 minutes later, we left as still nobody showed up. Bottom line, stay elsewhere.
- Phuong (10/5): - Great
- Timothy (8/5): - We were given a room in the old section of the hotel. We were on the second floor and there was no elevator. My wife doesn’t walk well so it was difficult for her.
- Trenton (8/5): Shower is slow to warm - Hot tub was great Stayed on 6th floor The shower gets hot but takes about 15 minutes
- Barbara (8/5): Great stay, but...... - We stayed one night. The hotel is under construction and some of the rooms have been remodeled while others haven't. We got a remodeled room and it was great, except we couldn't get the TV to work and there wasn't any instructions in the room. I called the desk but no one answers. You have to get a call back. The other annoying thing is that the restaurant isn't open on Mon. or Tues.
- Kimberly (8/5): - We stayed in the older hotel part. It definitely needs upgrading, but it was clean, and parking was much more convenient than the newer part. The room was clean, the beds were comfortable, humongous bathroom. Closer to walk to the casino from the older part. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub, but it was a challenge finding them. For those staying in the newer part of the hotel, the parking lot is quite a distance for the elderly to walk to get into the hotel and to the casino. They had a gift shop, a small deli, and a restaurant, but it was closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. The casino was clean, not crowded, and none of us won anything. The bartenders were great!
- Phillip (10/5): - The rate was fair, the mattresses were very good, shower arrangement and sink faucet need help
- Christopher (10/5): - Great hotel/casino
- Doris (10/5): - I liked the glass shower
- Sally (10/5): - This property is under construction but it didn’t affect our stay. We were given a 6th floor hotel room that was recently renovated, clean and comfortable. The property is nicely decorated and updated. We were disappointed that the restaurant was closed on Monday and Tuesday. We were looking forward to a nice dinner but ended up at the snack bar.
The slots were fun and I actually came out a bit ahead. We had a good stay at this casino/hotel.
- Salvatore (10/5): - Good people and atmosphere!
- Brun (8/5): - Property is being remodeled will be much nicer when done.
- Charles (6/5): - The east wing is in serious need of refurbishment. Our initial room had water pouring from the light fixture in the bathroom. The staff was extremely apologetic and moved us to a different room which was fine if a bit dated. The casino experience was “lose all your money immediately” - I don’t gamble often but my experience is usually $20 will last me half an hour, here it was gone in 5 mins. Also the layout of this place is WEIRD. Getting to the pool/hot tub is an adventure and you will need to ask for directions at the front desk. (It involves two elevators and quite a bit of walking) Overall I would stay here again but not in the East Wing.
- Michael (10/5): - We enjoyed our stay.
- Donald (8/5): - Hotel is older but in good condition, New hotel opening soon.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Average stay. - Bathroom lighting was terrible; need new brighter lights in bathroom. Water pressure in shower was below average. Water does not get warm in hands-free faucet in bathroom sink. Room was clean and bed was comfortable.
- Teri (8/5): Expensive for what you get!! - It was just ok. For the price it was dingy, out dated They are In The process of remodeling now so it should get better!
- David (6/5): - Bedding wasn't clean.
- Deborah (8/5): - The bathroom faucets are automatic and there is no way to control the temp in faucet.
- Keith (10/5): - Clean comfortable please to stay
- Dawn (10/5): - Everything was excellent, except for smoking area at entrance of building. Very friendly and helpful staff.
- Gerald (6/5): Not such a good stay - Our room was not ready at 3:10pm. I realize check in is not until 4 pm., however the hotel was not full. The room had warned out furniture, there was a hole in the dry wall by the entry door and when using the shower the floor was so slippery that i fell.
- Dale (8/5): - Lack of outlets. Otherwise it was fine
- Kathy (8/5): - It was very confusing getting from where we checked in to the parking area and door we entered for our room. Otherwise a very pleasant stay.
- Donald (6/5): - tv difficult to operate, coffee pot didn't work, broken toilet paper holder, dirt in corners and around molding in bath room. decor very cheap
- Christine (10/5): - Out of the ball park!! Clean and clean! Quiet and newly upgraded rooms made our stay out of the ballpark! Grand slam!!
- Jerome (6/5): - Bed was not very soft and hardly slept, toilet was the not accommodating as a disabled Vet I needed a higher one. This should have been done originally when updating the room. Was standard low toilet
- Brian (6/5): - I was told by the front desk worker that when guests book through Expedia, they are given the worst rooms. We were put in the old section of the hotel and had to walk all the way across the facility to reach anything. I felt like the room we got was misadvertised by Expedia.
- Patrick (2/5): - Room smelled terrible,
- Shannon (6/5): - We love this property, especially now that it’s non-smoking, but DON’T book through Expedia because you get down graded to their oldest, stinkiest section even when you book the new rooms. I booked a king room and got two queens. This has happened to us two years in a row because we booked thru Expedia. New section awesome, old section not great. Hot water in faucet only, smoke detector falling off ceiling, stained chairs, and no outlets to plug a charger in to. Casino, restaurant, & staff are great!
- Nancy (6/5): - Was put in a handicap room which I didn’t ask for! Could hear people walking around at 3 am above us and using the bathroom!! Not a very pleasant experience!!!
- Lyndsay (6/5): - Booked a stay as the website's states that rooms are newly renovated the room that I received was not renovated there was peeling and mold in the bathroom your smoke alarms started beeping a few hours after check in and when I called maintenance they had no idea how to fix it my husband assisted them in taking it apart and they realized that they could not replace batteries in the unit and they took the unit and left us without a smoke alarm for the evening. Also our bathroom was a bit janky as the faucet and controls were barely attached to the wall so I was disappointed as I was expecting a new updated room the hotel is unfinished and the Trek to the pool is very confusing and there are no signs posted as far as the website goes it is inaccurate and constantly requiring maintenance. I was very excited about this stay but ultimately left somewhat disappointed
- Tarang (8/5): - A good option for a short stay.
- Derek (10/5): - Nice Hotel
- Amanda (8/5): East Wing needs remodeling - I stayed in the older kinda out of date East Wing. Definitely needs remodeled.
- Scott (8/5): - Overall seemed fairly quiet.
- Mike (4/5): - Old but clean. Pool was not open. Most places closed. Casino was not busy but table games were expensive. No one was playing. Lots of construction
- Neelam (10/5): - Excellent
- Chris and Ali (10/5): - I understand this is going thru renovations but not having restaurants open, parking lot rutted with pot holes, elevators not working, just did not add to the ambiance. And sone people smoking in casinos. Was told completely non smoking. So not really.
- John (10/5): Getaway - This property is one of our favorites.
- William (2/5): - Our room had spiders in and on the beds we had to sleep in our vehicle due to them being sold out..I want a refund
