Guest Reviews
- Tyesha (2/5): Ghetto - We couldn't sleep because people was being so loud and beating on doors after 1. There was no towels and the refrigerator wasn't cooling out stuff. We payed like 76$ that's not even worth it.š”š”š”š”
- Donna (2/5): - The place had a broken window out front and at the office making my family think they were not safe outside . Then the room was absolutely filty, we couldn't get a single outlet to work so our phones stayed dead and when we asked for a late check out the staff was very rude and disrespectful saying be out or pay a late fee...
- Jessica (2/5): BEDBUGS - They have bed bugs dont stay there
- David (10/5): Kool place - Awesome beds and quite
- Kim (2/5): - was not maintained properly, no buffet, was not as the pictures portrayed to me, was not what I expected
- Cashandra (8/5): - It's ok
- Pauline (6/5): - The beds and toilet were very uncomfortable, there were 2 dead roaches, and no hangers, shampoo, clock, pad, or pen.
- Jasmine (2/5): Very Unsanitary. - Roaches, not very clean, the people in the office are very rude they also leave soap and other things in the ahower.
- Brenda (4/5): - The pillows and vedding had body odor/ sweat odor
- Kristy Kelly (8/5): - They are really cleaning it up. The staff is courteous & friendly.
- Michael (4/5): - Old, outdated, and dirty. Never again.
- James (8/5): It's okay but there's lazy employees - Well the hotel is a little bit dated but it's really irked me was I could not get on the Wi-Fi because the Wi-Fi username and password was wrong that was in the room and whenever I call the front desk they never answered their phone so I never was able to use the Wi-Fi
- Verified traveler (6/5): July 2021 - There were a number of people milling about at 1 am when we stopped to get a room and that was a bit uncomfortable, especially when you have to check in through a window while standing outside. I was pleasantly surprised once inside my room - it was overall clean and comfy.
- Jonathan (10/5): Would stay here again - Itās basic but clean and nice. The front desk was very nice and quick.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - It was very disturbing at this facility. Alot of people In and out of the halls and had people, guest begging for money and cigarettes. The room was very hot and had no toliet tissue
- Darryl (6/5): Eh - It was so so
- Verified traveler (2/5): - This was the most nasty, filthy motel room I've ever stayed in. As soon as we walked in, I pulled the comforter down and there were brown markings that looked like feces. There was black lint all over the sheets and pillows, and there was a hair on the inside sheet that was definitely not mine. There were some bugs, as well. The floor looked like it wasn't swept, and there were holes burnt all over the comforters. It was gross.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Dirty
- Christopher (8/5): Awesome - Its a alright hotel its okay
- christina (8/5): clean at the right price - I a very pleasant stay. The staff was real helpful and friendly. The was nice and clean . I look forward to staying there again
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Well I went to get my room and they donāt have workers need refund.
- Heath (10/5): Clean, comfy, no frills old school motel. Great S - Met our expectations. It was a good place to stay o the road, and will stay again. This was an older but well maintained property. Ignore the bad, old reviews.
- kayna (2/5): Please Don't Do It - Do not stay here, if you value your life. We just needed a place to crash coming home from spring break in Florida. No hotels other than this one was available in a 4 town radius. We paid for two rooms, got there and was immediately not sure. But we tried to stick it out. Roaches in the fridge. Still tried. But with my family and people cussing and acting like idiots outside. My daughter crying cause she was so scared. I finally called another hotel and they just had someone not show and I got that room. We walked out my husband we g to tell the manager I wanted a refund. A woman was at the window smoking and not sure if she was one something. Screaming at my husband, he told her ma'am I don't know what your talking about. She literally slapped him, he walked to the car her following telling us we had to leave. She started screaming at my kids calling them names. We got out of there. I called to tell the guy behind the bulletproof glass that I wanted a refund and he said I had to come back for it. He said he called the cops and the situation was taken care of, but I told him there was no way I was coming back till maybe morning. We felt so unsafe. I don't know how Hotels.com keeps these kind of places on their site
- Timothy (10/5): ecent stay - All in all it was a good stay, location decent, near enough to food. No complaints.
- Paul (10/5): Great this time - Awsome love my room
- Joe (6/5): Scottish Inn - Overall this day was pretty nice just not the best-looking motel or has the same as service at some of the other motels but for the price very well overall well stay
- Verified traveler (2/5): - No one answered and I had to wait for an hour to hear that they wonāt honor the booking from Expedia and there is no room available
- Verified traveler (2/5): - I could smell urine when I walked in the door and no blow dryer are shampoo and conditioner
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I liked everything it was very nice even the owners were very nice and friendly I will be coming back when I visit Tupelo again
- Curnis (6/5): Old noisy motel - Old , kind of run down.
People in and out with lots of yelling and talking all night.
It was among the cheaper hotels.
The next night found much better for same price
- Verified traveler (2/5): Crack Den - The place was so run down and overrun with drug addicts, we didn't even get out if the car. It looks nothing like the hotels.com pictures. There were hookers soliciting on the corner and people half clothed, walking around the parking lot like zombies. We went out to dinner later that night and when locals asked where we planned to stay, they GASPED at the idea of the Scottish in and told us it was the most dangerous location in the city. I booked this hotel in a rush as we were headed down to the delta for a family funeral, and even though I booked an hour before we arrived and canceled immediately, the hotel would not refund my money, claiming it was a clean nice place.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The hotel staff has attitudes. They be on the cell phone while checking u in speaking different languages. They give u whatever room they want u to have. The rooms need upgrading n the bedding is old need upgrading. The refrigerator dnt even get cold. It juz need to be remolded and hav a whole make over with the building and the staff. We gave it a second chance thinking it will be better but itz worst.
- Sweety (2/5): - This hotel was not good at all. The toilet stayed running after u flush it like u was at some type of ghetto place. The sockets were old u had to plug the light up in the socket hard in order to come on. The wifi froze . They did not hav a iron. The blow dryer dnt work . The housekeeping didnt put pillow slip back on the pillows and there were make up on the pillowslip whn we first entered the room. The whole place itself needed a upgrade and when time to departure around 10: 30 am the manger himself bust into the room askn if we were stayn a xtra day. Very unproffessinal very. The only thing tht was good was the shower and they brought towels.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It had fridge and microwave..and even us being late checking out they didn't have a problem with it
- Verified traveler (2/5): Horrible staff - Do yourself a favor and DONāT stay at this place. There were drug deals in the parking lot. There were bugs in the room. I had to ask for shampoo and soap and it was as though I was asking for a million dollars. They just couldnāt be bothered. My hair dryer quit and when I called to get another one I was yelled at. I insisted on having one brought to me and the young girl told me I ājust donāt know how to work itā. I used it prior to breaking and I explained to here Iāve been a Flight Attendant for 30 years... I think I know how to use a hair dryer. An awful experience and I think they should be closed down.
- Melanie (2/5): Never again - No non smoking rooms available, never were any? The room we were give was either occupied or recently vacated without being cleaned.
- JJJ (2/5): - WE DID NOT STAY!!!!! It was all FINE UNTIL WE PUT OUR CLOTHES IN THE ROOM AND ALMOST BUMPED INTO A LADY THERE. Shaid she had been there for 4 month and then asked if we had any food. WE JUST SO HAPPENED WE DID AND GAVE IT TO HER RIGHT THEN WE GOT OUR CLOTHES AND LEFT AND TOLS THE LADY WE WERE NOT STAYING. WE WEREN'T EVEN THERE 10 MIN and STILL GOT CHARGED FOR THE NIGHT . IT WAS NOT A VERY GOOD EXPERIENCE. BUT THE LADY WAS NICE. IT WAS CREEPY.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - 60 bucks for a $20 room... just old and cig burned sheets. Didnt feel clean nor safe. but it was the last hotel room in tuepelo and we needed it. The staff was great though.
- Billy Lee (8/5): - No bedbugs or roaches, and the woman who checked me in was congenial, and the room was quite clean. After many years in the hospitality industry, Iām too aware of the bedbugs in a bottle scam and of people complaining either to dispute credit card charges or because the wish they were prima donnas but canāt sing. This low budget motel has an excellent price/value ratio and is exactly what one should expect of a low budget motel.
- Vic (4/5): - It had roaches in the room... Some was under the cover when I moved it back... I wouldn't recommend staying here..
- Verified traveler (6/5): Older Motel very dated - Very little lighting electrical receptacles no blow dryer or coffee pot
- Melissia (2/5): Awful!!!!!!! - The beds were 2 hard and made sounds like rattling cans when we moved. There did not seem to be any noise cancelling features. At 2 in the morning people were yelling outside my door and I could see them moving through the crack under the door. I will never stay at another Scottish Inn.
- Julie (10/5): Great basic room. - Just in town one night for a concert. Great basic room that was clean though we found a dead cockroach under my pillow when we were leaving.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Our stay at the Scottish Inn - We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. We will recommend it to anyone who stays in the Tupelo area.
- Hayley (8/5): Decent - The room was nice for the price we paid for it.
- Carla (6/5): Basic but clean - Basic motel but was clean and cheap.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Not Run Like A Hotel - The neighborhood where this hotel is uses it like an apartment building so that is how it is run instead of a hotel.
Very noisy and even parking was odd in that same way.
It was clean and well kept but not my idea of a motel!!
- Verified traveler (4/5): If All else fails, stay here - The room was small. Needed work.
- Katherine (6/5): Friendly and Helpful - Very friendly owner-manager. Very clean room.
- Verified traveler (6/5): great value - good room for the price
