Guest Reviews
- Eddy (7/5): Good Place for the Night - Very big room. Comfortable bed and pillows. Microwave worked well. The light in the bathroom didn’t work so I had to leave the door open while using the bathroom during the night. During the daytime, light came in from the window so I didn’t have to shower in the dark. Overall a little dated.
- Julie (8/5): Great value for a great night’s sleep on the road - While this is an older property, it is clean and a great value. We’re driving through and want a bed for the night, not amenities. The bed was super comfy! There’s a loveseat & a dining table with 2 chairs in our large king room. Also a mini fridge/freezer. The office had small bags of ice for guests. Friendly young lady at the front desk. Great value for a great night’s sleep. Good water pressure and plenty of hot water.
- Robert (10/5): Slept well - Everything was fine.
- Richard (7/5): Great Value for the price , clean comfortable bed - Easy to find and a great price Nothing , it was fine.
- RITA (8/5): Good value. - It is old but was clean and comfortable, particularly the bed. Nothing
- Dean (10/5): Very close - There was no breakfast
- Scott (2/5): Loud, not clean and rundown - Bed was reasonably comfortable. There was hot water. Place was broken down. Tub/shower had patch work done and not good. No lite fixture in bathroom. Door had gaps all around it. Not clean. People upstairs and it may have been the managements family that lived there were running around until 3 Am and at times it sounded as if they were going to come through ceiling. This place is not worth it and only reason it got a 2 was the bed and hot water
- Sonja (8/5): - Comfortable bed
- Craig (7/5): -
- Gregory (8/5): - Friendly professional staff and a full breakfast with meat and eggs
- Lynn (6/5): Decent stay for our emergency - Easily accessible to all the things we needed nearby. Safety of leaving our filled truck of our belongings in the parking lot Neighbors above continuously were walking around their room during the night which was heard loudly in our room
- Aaron (4/5): -
- mid (4/5): -
- Stones (4/5): - Bed was comfortable Smell, lighting, no hot water, shower drain does not drain
- Yoel (7/5): -
- Apple John (7/5): - The woman at the front desk was always pleasant despite my 4 trips to her to get TV working. And it was a very good deal for the price. It took 4 trips back and forth from office to finally get the TV working.
- Mark (8/5): Would stay again - Easy to find--though Hawthorne is a pretty small town so anything would be easy to find and it's close to anything else in town. Nice staff at check-in. Larger room than expected. Bed was comfortable. Place was quiet. Everything worked. The bottom of the shower around the drain looked like it had been patched or something.
- Douglas (8/5): - No coffee in room or lobby
- Gary (8/5): Room was very clean and big room. -
- Bruce (2/5): - The bed Everything thing else
- GARY (9/5): It was fine, no problems. - No breakfast
- Veronica (10/5): - MEGA comfortable mattress
- Surika (10/5): -
- Jim (8/5): Relaxing, quiet - Location was close to gas station, and restaurants, and off the main drag Can't think of anything
- Daniel (8/5): -
- Ruth (8/5): - Clean room. Comfortable bed. Fridge/freezer in room is a bonus if you like to bring your own food. Overall a good value for an overnight stay. Shower pressure isn't great.
- Reynolds (5/5): Affordable and adequate. - Affordable roof over your head for the night, clean and comfortable. No hot water for a morning shower and no coffee maker.
- CHARLIE (7/5): Bien - Bain legerement endommagé pour le reste excellent
- Giselle (1/5): You can chose this hotel for the price, but be ready not to expect more than it offers. - The staff gently provided a hair dryer to be used in the room. In the check out, she tried to make up for the fact that there was no hot shower. It was a very cold day. I checked in 22pm. The room had no hot water and no other room were available with hot water. I had to check out early in the morning and even after the absence of hot water, the property charged in full for the night. I asked for a reimbursement, they only refund half of what I had payed. I wanted full reimbursement, they didn’t give me.
- John (4/5): Just an old facility, but bed was comfortable & the staff was nice - Door handles loose
Shower was barely warm
Old facility
No plug ins
- Doug (8/5): - No coffee
- Brittney (1/5): Please DON'T 🙏 - Nothing Rude person at desk. Putrid smell in every room. Dirty floors. Dirty counters. Smelly beds. Completely broken and gross molded bathtub. Old old old everything. Worst place we have ever stayed.
- Crystal (1/5): Do not stay here - Literally nothing The bath tub was not usable it had cracks and holes, the wall had giant slashes that they covered with paint. The plug strips had burnt plugs. The appliances were super old and missing pieces. The beds were on metal boxes, with thin mattresses. The skink had cracks around the edging the put putty on. Tiles were missing in the bathroom. No coffee or tea maker but packets of coffee? The parking was terrible, there was really no outside lighting
- Jyotirmoy (7/5): -
- Reynolds (6/5): Good staff. Facilities are average for the price. - Good value for an overnight stay. Could use some updating.
- Emily (9/5): It was very clean, I would stay here again. - It was very clean, I would stay here again. It's an older building and some of the facilities are older.
- stephen (7/5): Easy restful stay - Clean comfortable
- Redwood (9/5): - Spacious and nice TV No coffee maker/hot water for tea/coffee
- Michael (7/5): -
- Fran Calder (7/5): Decent stat for a night. - Big room with love seat, table and chairs. Able to check in early. Good fridge with freezer. Bed sheets were not fitted so they did not stay in place, not enough pillows, no coffee or ice machine could be found and a hair dryer would have been nice.
- Stephen (7/5): -
- Joanna (8/5): - Good value, comfortable place to sleep. Old but clean and quiet.
- Stephen (3/5): It's cheap and mostly clean. We were wondering how it got a rating in the 7s. - The bed was comfortable and the room was mostly clean. difficult to adjust the temperature when showering in the broken/patched tub that had black mold in the corner. florescent light over the sink stopped working due to steam from the shower, which was not in the same room. Light started working again when the steam discipated. Room door appears to have been kicked in and repaired in a "less than professional" way. Understaffed; we only saw one person one time. There was no one at check-out.
- Lillian (10/5): - A motel originally built in the mid-20th century, its appearance was well-kept and attractive. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the room was huge. Some of the furniture was a little worn, but the room as a whole was very well maintained, with new-looking carpet and bedspread, nice lighting beside the bed, and a cool full-length mirror with a touch-sensor to change the lighting from daytime to evening to office. The bed was comfortable, and having the wall-mounted A/C/heater in the vanity area was very appreciated -- much less noise! The bathroom sink area has not been updated and has its original quaint and quirky Mid-Century Modern esthetic, but there was a large modern tub/shower. A very pleasant surprise in a quiet, back-roads kind of place. We will definitely stay there again!
- Mitchell (6/5): - It was okay, but the room didn't have any tissues in it, and it was ugly, with rough looking furnishings and the tub was deteriorating.
- Michael (6/5): - A older facility that has seen its better days, but worth the money. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Not much to choose from regarding area dining.
- William (8/5): - While it is an older property, for the most part it was very clean. Bedding, carpets, linens etc were fresh and comfortable. The bathroom shower had issues…while the surface cleaning was great, there was black mold visible in the tile grout. Housecleaning is on it…maintenance not so much.
- Richard E. (10/5): Good value -
- Chad (6/5): -
- Toni (7/5): . - . .
- Jason (5/5): -
- Tanja (3/5): Kann ich definitiv nicht weiter empfehlen. - Nichts. Das Motel ist eine Bruchbude. Die Mitarbeiterin beim Check in war nicht besonders freundlich. Aber: Die Laken und die Handtücher waren wenigstens sauber.
- Pertillion (10/5): Cozy, convenient and safe. - Very clean and quiet. There’s a balcony patio that has the perfect view of mountains .
- Moon (8/5): -
- Nichols (7/5): -
- Luis (10/5): - Motel size, but a really quite location.
- michael (10/5): - Owner was very nice
- Robert N (4/5): - The built in wall A/C is quite loud. So loud in fact you can not hear the TV without disturbing other guests. There is no ice machine and no continental breakfast. The hot and cold water is hooked up in reverse and knobs operate in reverse as well. Water Drains poorly. Killed a couple of small roaches. Entry to the rooms are in bad need of sweeping.
That said, the bedding was comfortable. The motel innkeeper was extremely kind. There are just not many good options in this town.
- Carol (8/5): - Room was fine, but no coffee or ice. Probably won’t stay there again.
- Ronnie (10/5): - A nice motel for the money. Vintage 60's/70's look. Property upkeep and rooms in decent condition. I especially liked getting an actual key for the room and not those fancy stupid cards with advertising.
- Hans-Klaus (3/5): - Haus total runterkommen. Schimmel im Bad, Wannenboden großflächig abgelöst. Strenger Geruch im Zimmer. Das Bett schlampig gemacht, wenigstens war die Matratze bequem.
- Lorrin (8/5): - This was a decent stay. The downside was the door locks were not the greatest and old style, meaning you could leave your room door unlocked if not careful. Plus the flip lock inside the room for extra security did not work as it didn’t line up to lock. The up side was the fridge was on and cold and had a little separate freezer area for my ice packs! The property is small and quiet. Stayed one night.
- Linda (4/5): - Messy area ... No ice machine .. beds hard as a rock
- Sherwood (7/5): - Bed was comfortable and I was rired Good value
- Robert (7/5): I would stay there again -
- Harrison (8/5): - Basic hotel with a lot of deferred maintenance. Staff were all very friendly.
- James (4/5): - No ice no coffee in need of repairs but ok for one night would not recommend
- Juan Daniel (4/5): - Hotel room needs a lot of attention.
- Charlotte (8/5): - The room was big .
The bed was very good .
Good prise.
Not much in town .
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great place to stay on a road trip - Clean rooms, comfortable beds and pillows. The place has an awesome retro vibe to it, and could use some maintenance, but for the price I paid....I would definitely stay there again! I love these little holler in the wall motels!
- Thomas (8/5): Ist einen Besuch wert. - Wir wurden trotz einer Verspätung sehr freundlich von der Dame am Empfang begrüßt. Das Zimmer war für unsere Zwecke absolut okay und wir würden wieder hier übernachten.
- Allen (6/5): - Worn down property in a worn out town.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Clean! - Super clean, great linens and comfortable bed in a dated motel. Great for the price
- faranak (10/5): - Nice place to stay
- Linda S (8/5): - We stayed there twice. On the way to Las Vegas and on the way back. The first room had a faulty lock. We were immediately given another room. It was fine. It is a dated motel but clean and very serviceable. We would definitely stay there again.
- Jeronimo (2/5): - Not much to say..: Dirty, missing stuff, things that didn’t work.
- ken (9/5): - It was a good clean room with a fair price. Staff was polite.
- Jacob (10/5): Clean, Comfortable, Quiet - Had a fantastic stay. The man who checked me in was very kind and even took me to the room. Great AC, and you can see the work that has been put into the rooms to modernize them. New lights, mirrors, etc. I recommend!
- Steve (3/5): - Bathroom was nasty , mold on the roof above the shower from leaking water up stairs Bathroom . Grout had black stuff in it. No water pressure in shower. Around tub drain looked like it had plaster all around it. Long black hairs in tub , around sink had dark area's in Grout and alot of sealer piled up in front and back. Door knob was loose and ready to fall out , had to tighten screws up.
- Celinas (10/5): Very nice stay - Very clean and comfortable
- Celinas (10/5): It was a very pleasant stay - Very clean, comfortable, kind staff, convenient location
- Joel (6/5): - Good bed.
Local restaurants close by.
- ari (10/5): - excellent
- Pierluigi (7/5): Good -
- Jennifer (8/5): Very good - Very clean and spacious. I would stay there again. For a cheap motel, it was good. Stayed there in July, and it was very quiet. Just passing through from the Yosemite area to NE nevada. Air conditioning worked very well.
- Madden (5/5): Not the nicest place but all I needed was a bed. - It much It is a very run down property. It served my purposes for a place to sleep. Next time I’ll be more careful selecting a place to stay over
- Susan (8/5): Good price for the stay. Comfortable - The staff was very friendly and helpful.
- Charlene (10/5): - It is an old motel but very neat and clean. You feel like you have stepped back in time by the furnishings but everything looked new and it was the cleanest plave we have stayed on this trip. Delightful place.
- Jacalyn L. (10/5): - Absolutely clean, all staff prompt, professional and friendly.
Appreciated 24 hour coffee/cookie bar
- Lye (10/5): - It’s very clean and comfortable. We had a good sleep. Amenities are basic but the price is also affordable. The area was quiet and safe.
- Daniel (5/5): Your in the Desert get better A/C !! - Price was good 👍 bed was comfy. A/c didn't work well. Couldn't get to sleep till very late due to room not cooling down fast enough.
- Robert (10/5): Exceptional - Not fancy, but very clean and spacious, with all the amenities I look for when what I need is a place to spend the night. The price was a bargain. Nothing.
- Jody (4/5): - I liked the lodge's lady representee at the check in desk. She was nice and new.
I really only like giving good or great reviews. I have to say I can't go without saying anything this time. Management, I know your a small town but their is no reason a room should ever be so gross. Hair in bathroom, blood on sheets, gummies on floor, food all over microwave, hair ......etc. Please be cleaner we pay to stay with your establishment.. Thank you
- Francis (8/5): The gentleman in charge was delightful and informative. The motel is old, but the room had been updated and was extremel - It was very clean! The room had been updated. No hair dryer. No coffee maker. Must live out of your luggage (no storage).
- Robert (10/5): - Good job!
- William (10/5): The night the lights went out in.....Hawthorne. - Arrived at sunset to find out the electricity was out due to a storm that passed thru earlier. After about 30 minutes of waiting, the owner/operator and I agreed to let me stay even with the lights out. I had a flashlight that worked just fine to shower and get to bed. I was tired after riding all day. The next morning, the electricity was back on all was back to normal. The room was spacious, clean, nothing missing, broken or inoperable. I slept like a baby with the windows open. Thank you for your hospitality!
- Robert (8/5): Good budget Motel for a one night stay. - Keeping in mind that this is a 1 star property you shouldn't expect to much. However, the owner was very helpful and is doing his best to maintain the property on a limited budget while reserving the property for travelers vs long term residents. Our stay was quiet with no complaints. The best restaurant in town is inside the El Capitan Casino located one block to the west. Don't forget to tour the Hawthorne Ordnance Museum if you have time. The A/C was a little under powered but did the job after a few hours with the help of a fan.
- Joan (8/5): Very good -
- lillian (10/5): Great place to stay. - We picked this place to stay because of the price. It was very family friendly. It was very comfortable, clean and quiet. The host was very kind made sure we had everything we needed. Told us about available places to eat and let us know there was a grocery story in town as well. It is not overly modern which suits our sensibilities. Overall it was one of the best places we stayed at on our roadtrip. So if you are looking for a great place to lay your head this is the place.
- Craig (6/5): Pleasant -
