• Stephanie (10/5): If you’re looking for a clean, welcoming, reasonably priced place to stay, this is an incredible value and everything yo - I’ve stayed here multiple times while visiting my daughter at Western Carolina University, and it has become my go-to place whenever I’m in Western North Carolina. This is a small, independently owned motel, and the difference really shows in the best way possible. The property is always very clean, and the staff and owners are exceptionally friendly, welcoming, and personable. They truly make your stay feel warm and personal rather than just transactional. The pricing is also extremely reasonable, especially compared to accommodations closer to campus, which can get pretty expensive. Even though the motel is about 30 minutes from WCU, the drive is easy and well worth the savings. It’s a great balance of convenience, comfort, and value. I highly recommend staying here if you’re visiting the area. I’ve stayed here before, will absolutely continue staying here in the future, and always appreciate the hospitality. The only minor downside has nothing to do with the motel itself, sometimes pulling out onto the main road can be a little hectic during busy traffic times. It can feel a bit like playing Frogger! Other than that, I genuinely have no complaints and always enjoy staying here.
• Feldt (7/5): - Cute and clean and location was great We booked for 5 days but left after 2. It rained all night the 2nd night and was supposed to have torrential rain, severe thunderstorms and tornadoes for the next 3 days. So we packed up and went to northern Kentucky.

It was wonderful to see an older Motel restored so extensively it was like new. Honestly, I can’t think of how it could be improved.

• girtha (10/5): I would absolutely stay here again & highly recommend it to friends/family! - The employee named Ashley was AWESOME. I had travelled 6 hours in a car w/no AC to attend a funeral. Ashley really helped me out in a big way by letting me do an early check in so that I could shower and rest before going to the funeral. She was very kind to help me, as the motel was booked up and typically no early check-in would have been available. The curtains didn't quite close all the way so I had to use safety pins that I luckily had in purse to hold the drapes properly closed.
• Alisa (4/5): It was disappointing - The outside was very pretty and inside clean The air conditioning didn’t work right and it got out and stuffy at night. Kept turning off like it was on econo but only had off, fan, heat, low cool, high cool buttons. And I paid $100 extra for a view that did not exist. Pool closed too early

• Jeff (9/5): Wonderful locally owned Motel that we would defiantly stay at again. - We had a wonderful stay. The rooms were extremely clean. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. Apparently the Motel is very popular as it was sold out for the weekend. Even though the Motel on the highway, they must have been sound proofed because we heard not traffic noise what so ever in the room. The parking spots are nice and wide. I can't think of any.

• Lori (8/5): A gem in the mountains - Very friendly staff There was a fire pit out front for people to gather around the fire. The room was spacious, clean and reminded you of home. Great location The room had a rocking chair and added to its homey charm. The only downside was the size of the parking lot. 4 motorcycles had taken up 4 regular parking spots. We left for dinner and came back and not only were we unable to park in front of our motel room, there were no parking spots available. I ended up pulling off into the grass near the pool.

• Amanda (9/5): Overall Great!! - Great location. The staff was friendly and welcoming. He recommended things in the area and told us how to get there on a map. Housekeeping was very friendly also! The place is an older motel but it has been renovated and is nice. Some furniture is older looking but great. Loved the fire at night, it was very relaxing. The motel is near the highway; however, you can’t hear it from inside your room which was very nice. Overall a great stay, we will be back! The shower in room 18 did not drain so we were unable to shower in the morning, but I did let management know and I’m sure they will take care of it. My only complaint would be the cleaning product smell in the room. You can tell they are very thorough with cleaning which is amazing, but they may want to consider a room refresher or something to help with that. There is also no breakfast if that’s something you look for. We rarely eat hotel breakfasts so it didn’t matter to us.

• Anthony (9/5): Great little place.. - Everything. Rooms were spacious, beds comfortable, extremely clean rooms. The staff was very friendly. Great location. They also have a very clean large pool and at night a nice fire pit. Each room has chairs on the porch you can sit outside and relax. We will definitely be back!! The ONLY thing I didn't like is I had stated that I wanted to pay cash when I arrived instead of them charging my card ( this was an option), but when I arrived they had already charged my card.

• Sharon (6/5): Wifi does not work (2x stays) at this hotel - Wifi at this hotel does not work. This is the second time we stayed here, and the second time the wifi did not work. The office closes at 7 (closed at 5 unexpectedly on this stay) and there was no contact for the wifi to be reset or to troubleshoot. It's a great little place, with great people and a great room (quiet even though on the main road), but if you need or want wifi, choose another place.
