Staff very helpful and friendly, even upgraded my room and immediately sent someone when there was a minor leak in the AC to fix promptly. Amazing buffet breakfast, clean sheets and tidy room

Laure (4/5): Séjour mitigé dans un magnifique hôtel - Les chambres sont top, l’emplacement est top car bien que l’hôtel soit en plein centre ville, les chambres sont au calme de la rue et de sa cohue. La literie est très confortable et les sanitaires sont top aussi. Le personnel d’accueil a été adorable avec nous également. Ma note est basse, car malgré le positif, nous avons très peu dormi. Ce qui est justement ce qu’on attendait d’un hôtel. Les deux nuits nous avons été réveillés aux alentours de 5h du matin par le personnel qui prenait son service et c’était vraiment très bruyant.

They have categorised their rooms luxury, super luxury, and standard. We stayed in one luxury room 204. Sadly the name of luxury not in reality. Room is spacious but only two bed side lamp to lit the room. Bathroom is very old type fittings. Bathtub is very high to get in for a normal person. No shower curtain therefore once you take a bath whole toilet is wet floor. Shower was malfunction you can't take head shower or hand shower as both working same time. Room TV was out of order. It give bulard pictures. Air condition and free WiFi are good. Room Corridor was filthy look and smells. If the management take detail checking on room and other areas it could be a good city hotel. The pictures on their profile and reality is bit far away. We didn't have any food therefore no comments on it. Staff are very lethargic. Need training.

The pictures looking much more fancy than the real hotel is.the shower had only cold water. I had a genius price drop - so 40dollar per night was a really good deal.otherwise its overprized.
JohnHenryB (8/5): Clean room and lovely staff - a calm spot away from the hustle and bustle of Kandy. - It was a welcome oasis of calm in the middle of Krazy Kandy. On arrival we were early for checkin - the front desk staff went out of their way to settle us with a complimentary welcome drink and our room was made ready efficiently. The room was clean and well appointed and we enjoyed our stay there.

De (4/5): The property must not be opened to travellers untill the property is free of Bedbugs & Cockroaches. - The worst of worst experience during our life time travelling, the place of plagued and infested with cockroaches & Bedbugs, Air condition was an utter disaster, leaking wwater, units were btoken & home for insects amd cockroaches. Pillows although had reasonably cleaned pillow casesa, were very badly stained with dirty yelow browny marks & Bedsheets were very dirty. The place and rooms are smelly badly Despite of all that, Most /Some of the staff was very humble, obliging & understanding ,helpful and pleasant. Management were apparently not doing their jobs regarding the hygiene and the wellbeing of the place. Bssically the hotel is a complete dump not suitable for its purpose. Nothing really good about this place except for its junior staff.

Common areas could be cleaner but still okay, some lovely paints and decor. Professional staff. I would choose Kandy City Hotel by Earl's to stay again.
Natalie (5/5): Great location but rooms are a little tired - The location was perfect. Right in the middle of the city centre so easy to get to everything if needed. Staff were lovely and check in was easy. It’s a good hotel if you need just a bed for the night. Air conditioning was just right for the size of the room The photos are very out of date. The rooms are tired and mouldy. The shower curtain was covered in mould which is an easy fix if the hotel would give them a wash every now and again. Pillows are very flat which isn’t my preference but some people might like that. Breakfast was quite the experience… you get everything on the list which is quite a lot of food. Gets boring by day 2 and half the stuff in the “bread basket” looked like it was taken out the left overs of another customers and put into ours.

I noticed dirty floors, unclean bathroom fixtures, stained linens, smell which made my stay uncomfortable and unsatisfactory. Additionally, I was shocked to find cockroaches in the room. This is entirely unacceptable and raises serious concerns about hygiene and pest control measures at property. Such conditions do not align with the expectations I had when booking with your hotel. I kindly request immediate action to address these concerns, including a thorough cleaning of the room and proper pest control measures.

Chandima (4/5): - We booked this hotel from overseas based on pictures posted and the location. The location is fantastic and it is such a charming hotel but badly maintained. The standard of the property is very poor. The couches were dirty, the rooms were not properly cleaned, the appliances were broken and the air conditioner did not work properly. It is a shame that the hotel has been brought to this state. We will not be staying there again anytime soon.

Samarahewa (7/5): Good - I stayed for a night at the hotel. Its location is excellent, nestled within the heart of the city. I chose this hotel for its proximity to the Temple of the Tooth, which was the primary reason for my visit. I stayed the hotel on HB basis. But, the meals did not meet my expectations. There were no buffets, and dinner was served at the bar, which was unexpected. Then, I requested to have my meal arranged in my room instead.

Dr. (1/5): Rundown Hotel and Filthy Housekeeping - I stayed only 2 nights even though I paid for 4 nights because of the terrible condition of the hotel. The AC did not work, the toilet was filthy. The staff were very nice, the location was excellent, this is probably the 15th time I've stayed here in the past 5 years. It was better before but slowly running down the tube. Very poor maintenance, extremely poor hygiene, and terrible housekeeping, filthy toilets. Slow and lack of adequate compensation.
Carolina (1/5): Never book this hotel if you are seeing this - Although the photos looked nice, it was a disappointing stay. The hotel smelled strange and there were stinks all over the room and hall. The breakfast was disgusting and we don't know if it was for all the experience we have been having or if it has a really strange taste. The room wasn't cleaned and it was completely different from the photos. And please wash the towels or replace them that cannot be so expensive... The price we paid can replace all hotel towels.

Bhagya (5/5): good - Location and basic facilities were good- clean sheets, bathroom. The complimentary drink was nice. The ambience, interior was dull. Breakfast menu should improve to include a variety. The pics did not match what we saw in reality. The entrance to the hotel was not very welcoming, no neon lights, very dull ambience-. its nicer if you add more welcoming experience for the guests. There was a power cut, we had to call and find out how to switch on the power back. We were not told when the breakfast was. We figured it out on our own. Not very friendly. Overall, not a bad hotel if you go with less expectations

Looks old, dark, unfriendly, AC took a 5 hours to cool down the room, smell of kitchen in corridors, old elevator, very bad neighborhood (dangerous in the evening and night).

SACHINI (front table staff).They seemed uninformed and unhelpful, which made my stay frustrating. That five days room service they don’t come clean my room. Bathroom was very smelly. Wasn’t match the photos they post on site. And air condition it’s not works well . Mini fridge is not working,I hope the management addresses this issue for future guests.

Charlotte (3/5): Good location, dirty hotel - It was in a great location, a few minutes from the Temple of Tooth and all the restaurants and the lake. The staff were great and moved our room promptly. When we arrived to our room, there were ants all over the curtain. I then found these everywhere in the bed. There was a rat in the vent of the A/C and the towels were dirty and had not been washed. Staff moved our room which was without bugs, however you could hear everything on the street very loudly from the room which made it difficult to sleep. I wouldn't recommend - for the price you can stay somewhere much better - this was the only hotel we had this issue with in Sri Lanka.

Sarah (7/5): Comfortable, convenient, good amenities, but lacking in character - I liked the central location, very handy for work purposes. The room was clean and comfortable. Useful bar and restaurant on site although it was a bit dark and uninviting. I loved the balcony, but it wasn’t private. Three rooms each had a portion of one long balcony but very low dividing walls. Also I am convinced I booked on a bed and breakfast basis (I always do) but when I went to breakfast on the first morning I discovered this was not the case and I had to pay extra for breakfast.
Cobba (10/5): Great location, Great team - The hotel is in a great location. It is in walking distance to restaurants, train station, and the temple of the tooth. The room had plenty of space, and was clean. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We bumped into the hotel restaurant staff on the street who greeted us, and looked out for us. We had left behind a few items in the room and the team assisted by arranging a courier. They were kind, considerate and professional.

Mohan (5/5): Excellent location and has the potential to be the best business hotel in Kandy! - The staff was really helpful. Allowing to leave the luggage before and after the stay helped a lot in commuting and touring the city. The check-in experience was not bad, but could be improved. I was a bit surprized when the NICs of all my family were requested. Location is excellent, proximity to KCC and so many good restaurants is definitely an advantage. Beds were comfortable and lighting was alright. The bathroom was super - good water pressure, hot water availability and the design of bath is excellent. Wifi was good. There weren't enough tea making facilities - not a single tea bag, just two coffee sachets, only two tea cups were provided for the booking of three pax. Cleanliness of the kettle and cups/saucers wasn't satisfactory. The AC was too noisy, making it difficult to sleep. The dust circulating within the room was visible to phone flashlights. View from the room was bad. There were noises of guests entering/exiting the neighbouring room at late night. Pillows were too small and slim - at least three per person (of that size) is required for a better sleeping experience. The satellite tv connection (PeoTV) had only less than 10 functional channels, which is disappointing.

Ridmi (9/5): Value for money in the heart of the city - Everything was value for money Rooms could be more spacious & it would've been better if they used the same colour coordination used in the displayed pics on the site in the rooms. Would give us a better impression.

Deshw (10/5): Exceptional - Great location as the hotel is located heart of Kandy city. You can walk to temple of tooth, Kandy city shopping centre, Laksala and every where. Kandy train station is only 10 mins away. The staff at the reception was very friendly and helpful. The room it self was very spacious and had city views. Bathroom was amazing with great hot water pressure. Great value for money. Would highly recommend this hotel. The corridor carpets smelled and I recommend probably doing a good clean of the area.
