148dmitryf (8/5): 1913 budget friendly place to stay - My first time in St. Petersburg with group of my friends. Tour company that we work with recommended 1913 hotel. Good suggestion and very good place to stay. Clean, large size rooms with all amenities that you need including air conditioner. Breakfast at the restaurant had great variety of foods including my favorite cheese blini (surniki). One issue we had when we arrived - hotel have no elevator to get luggage to the 4th floor. But no worry - hotel staff have 2 or 3 strong " Russian Herculeses" who will bring your luggage with smile up and down with the "speed of light" - issue solved, enjoy to stay at 1913 hotel.
Verified traveler (10/5): - Service was top, het personeel sprak goed Engels (dat vind je nergens in Rusland) en de hotelkamer had airco wat je in de winter zeker nodig hebt omdat de verwarming in geen enkel gebouw uit kan. Minder vond ik dat de douche op 1,55m zat waardoor wij niet staant konden douchen.
bluebay06 (10/5): very good accommodation in St. Petersburg - We stayed for three nights during December in this hotel situated in excellent location near the center and at walking distance from the most interesting area of Saint Petersburg and city attractions. Clean, quite and comfortable room and very good buffet breakfast. Excellent service with very polite and English speaking staff. Very good value for the reasonable price. Furthermore the hotel organized transfers from the railway station and to the airport with absolute professionalism, punctuality and at a reasonable price.
Scenic272311 (10/5): Great Hotel. Great Location. - Stayed in July 2019. Room was lovely, spacious and clean. Customer service was superb. Hotel is authentic and create 'old Petersburg's feeling'. Breakfast was very good - fresh, good variety, tasty. Excellent location!
DL (10/5): - Great hotel. Friendly staff that were fluent in English. Decent Wifi connection (we were on the third floor and i measured around 25 mbps download and 25 mbps upload speeds). Shower had nice hot water with good water pressure. Note that there is no elevator but there was a bellhop that took our bags up when we checked in. Each room has it own air conditioning unit. Our included breakfast was very good. There is also a hotel bar and hotel restaurant which were also very good (both offer 10% discounts for hotel guests). Also note that the nearest underground metro station was a bit far but we mostly used Yandex taxi services to get around (if you use the Uber app it will relink you to open Yandex) the hotel is within walking distance to St Isaac’s cathedral and the Yusupov palace but the hermitage is a bit further. Overall we had a very pleasant stay and would definitely recommend staying at this hotel.
Valeria (10/5): Fantastisk hotel - Vi bestilte hotellet på ankomstdagen, som en panikløsning, fordi den lejlighed, vi oprindeligt havde bestilt, ikke gav livstegn fra sig. Vi havde derfor ingen store forventninger til hotellet, men havde bare akut brug for et overnatningssted til os og vores børn. Ved ankomst til hotellet blev vi meget positivt overrasket: imponerende bygning, super venlig service og stort og rent suite med alt, hvad man skal bruge, herunder gratis wifi. Der blev gjort rent og fyldt op med vand og te dagligt, ligesom der altid var rene og bløde badekåber og -sko, vi kunne gøre bruge af. På min mands fødselsdag blev vi derudover mødt af frugt og champagne på værelset. Hotellet har en fin restaurant, hvor man kan indtage alle dagens måltider. Alting er meget fint, velsmagende og med super service. Særligt a la carte måltiderne vil jeg anbefale. Derudover er der en hyggelig bar med gennemtænkt indretning, bordspil, kunst på væggene, der kan købes, og nogle gange også live musik om aftenen. I baren er der et fint udvalg af mad og drikke, og det er bestemt også børnevenligt. Og så ligger hotellet helt fantastisk med under 10 min til Isaac Katedralen og ca. 20 min til Vinterpaladset! Vi vil helt sikkert komme tilbage, hvis vi skal til Sankt Petersborg igen!

Juha (10/5): the best year in Russian history - After having eaten in the restaurant famously, around 6- 7 years ago, decided to stay couple of nights in the rooms, hoping to enjoy the same standard as in ancient times. We made the right decision. Tidy, renewed, peaceful rooms, not luxury but to be recommended. We also ate a marvellous dinner in the same restaurant. The year 1913, in Russian minds the last year, when everything was allright, has been maintained in this inn. The only point to improve is the bar, the young waitresses neglected their duties by having mutual fun. Our cocktails kept us waiting for 35 minutes in a nearly empty bar. And, we would probably still be waiting for them, but decided to blame the girlies by fluent Russian...

Verified traveler (8/5): - Dicht tegen het centrum aan gelegen, is hotel 1913 goed bereikbaar en een prima verblijf voor onze stedentrip. Aan de straatzijde komt geluid van het vele verkeer, de ramen zijn echter goed geïsoleerd. Het hotel is niet ruim bemeten, maar de kamer was prima. Het sanitair is niet luxe maar alles was er en werd uitstekend schoongehouden. Het hotel heeft geen lift maar een groot trappenhuis. Er is een receptie zonder een echte lobby, wel zijn er een kleine bar en een restaurant. Eten is op z'n Russisch: beperkte sortering, maar voldoende. Het personeel is aardig en attent. Zij kunnen zich in het Engels verstaanbaar maken en bedienen zich van Google translate voor het juiste begrip.
Tatiana (10/5): Гостиница и одноименный ресторан отличные - Очень хороший небольшой комфортабельный отель в историческом центре города, 5 минут до Исаакиевского собора, 10 минут до Невы, можно увидеть развод Дворцового и Благовещенского мостов. До Мариинского театра 10 минут пешком. На рецепции отеля не всегда компетентные портье. Зато консьерж Яша - сама любезность и всегда готов помочь. А в ресторане при отеле могут зарезервировать любое блюдо, к назначенному часу оно будет готово. Для меня специально приготовили вкуснейшую корюшку.

You won’t be disappointed. - Lovely place to stay for many good reasons: Excellent central location in the historic part of St Petersburg: walking distance to many tourist attractions Polite and helpfull staff / great customer service Fantastic Restaurant on 1st floor Clean, quiet and nicely decorated rooms (we had a view with a backyard) Excellent value for money considering all the above. UdZ66 (8/5): Lovely hotel - I spent just a couple of days, but enough to appreciate this hotel. the location is great: few steps from ST. Isaac’s cathedral and other city attractions. The staff was professional: always kind and helpful with suggestions and tips for the evening. The room was not big but clean and quiet.

The staff of the attached bar, Margo especially, and restaurant were fantastic. The food at both locations was fantastic. The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of many of the main attractions of Saint Petersburg. Fantastic overall.
Kei (8/5): - かなり車通りの多い通りに面している。周囲に家具店やレストランもある。正面入り口前がちょうどバス停になっているらしく、人がたむろしていることも多い。最寄り地下鉄からはやや遠い。少しわかりにくいかもしれないが、道を選べばラスコーリニコフが住むアパート跡もおがめる。所在の通りを上っていくと、イサーク大聖堂に通ずる。アストリアホテルも構えており、立地的に恵まれているとは言える。エルミタージュ美術館も徒歩圏内。こじんまりとしているが、スタッフは親切で、まあまあ手際よい。部屋広い、静か。朝食ビュッフェは変わり映えなく、飽きるが、ロシア品質かと。

ValeriaTH (4/5): Shady building. Don’t believe the pictures - The hotel’s rooms are separated from the lobby. It feels like a rental apartment. You get the keys to another building where one section are the hotel rooms. The building where the rooms are looks awful, with wires everywhere, no elevator and cigarette smell. See the pictures here. Getting into the building was very tricky as the electronic key did not work well. One of the staff members of the lobby was not helpful at all. She was very negative. The location is OK. There is nothing immediately around the hotel but after a short walk you get to the main attractions. The only positive is that the room was very clean and the cigarette smell did not enter the room.

280glenb (10/5): Very good Hotel! - Hotel well situated, friendly and very helpful staff, rooms good, there is no elevator but someone carries up your luggage, helpful when you stay in the 4th floor! Try a burger at the annex bar, excellent!
Milo39 (10/5): Great option in St P - This hotel is located 10 min walk from Ermitaz. Rooms are clean, windows sound-proof, the breakfast is good with excellent pancakes. Staff is very friendly, WiFi fast. Very value for the price in the city.

tropicalgrenki (10/5): Great place to stay near historical center - Great value for a price, very good service, excellent silent location in historical center. The hotel absolutely exceeded my expectations. St Isaac Cathedral, the Neva & cruise boats pier are in walking distance. Very clean rooms, new towels, soap, etc. replaced daily. Very good idea is a free bottle of still water daily. Probably, for somebody else it could be useful to know - there are no safes in rooms, no electric kettle/minibar (but there is a fridge), and there isn't an elevator in the building, so might be difficult to carry luggage downstairs for elderly people, or a family with kids. No problem with getting upstairs, the hotel staff helps with it. This was not an issue for me, so I enjoyed my stay very much. Some traditional Russian cuisine adding to a breakfast was lovely! Loved mini salmon pies :) Thank you!
joonkee (8/5): 관리는 깨끗하다는 인상을 받았습니다. - 앞서 어떤 분(아마도 여자 분이신 듯) 이용 후기에 출입하기 좀 무서우셨다고 하신 것 같아 제 경험을 남깁니다. 저도 러시아가 처음이라 일반적인 평가는 아닐 수 있겠지만 제가 겪고 느낀 그대로를 다음 분을 위해 참고로 남깁니다. 저도 처음에 작은 로비와 좁은 복도(특히 1층 복도)등에 적잖이 실망감을 가졌었습니다. 엘베도 없어 3층까지 무거운 트렁크를 들고... 어쨋거나 다음 날 아침 식사를 위해 식당(아침은 프론트에서 가르쳐 준 2층 식당이 아니고 1층이었음)을 찾아 다니다가 호텔 이곳 저곳을 보게 되면서, 호텔 입구는 작고 볼품 없지만 식당도 깨끗하고 서비스도 나름 친절하다는 인상을 갖게 되었습니다. 붙어있는 건물을 연결하여 호텔로 개조해서 오래되었지만 관리는 깨끗하다는 인상을 받았습니다. 아침 부페는 럭셔리?하고는 거리가 있지만 깔끔합니다. 서브도 좋습니다. 무엇보다 여기 러시안들 식사예절 참 훌륭합니다. 10여명 넘게 식사할 때도 포크나 나이프가 접시에 닿는 소리가 그것도 아주 조심히 내는 작은 소리 정도가 가끔 들릴 뿐... 입니다. 주제 넘고 또 넘지만 이런 식사예절만은 다음 방문객들도 최대한 좀... 직원들 영어는 유창하지는 않지만 (아주 유창한 직원 딱 한 사람 만났음) 대화가 가능한 직원이 적어도 한 사람은 항상 프론트에 있는 것 같습니다. 첫 날 객실에 슬리퍼가 없어 부탁을 하였더니 비행기 비지니스 클래스 이상에서 주는 슬리퍼를 150루블 차지하겠다며 갖다 주었습니다 (슬리퍼는 챙겨 가시는 것이 좋습니다) 론드리는 외부에 맞기는 것 같았고, 받아야 하는 시간을 얘기하니까 세탁소에 전화를 걸어 확인 후 시간 내에 갖다 놓았습니다. 무엇보다 성이삭 성당, 에르미타쥬 박물관 등 관광명소들이 호텔과 멀지 않아 저는 그냥 걸어다녔습니다. 버스나 지하철 한번도 타지 않고요 ㅎㅎ. 페트로파블로프스키 요새도 걸어서 다녀 왔구요. 처음엔 근처 건물들이 낡은 듯 해서 다니기에 두려움을 느끼시는 분도 있겠지만, 제가 5일 동안 여기 저기 다니면서 적응이 되어선지 어디에서도 위험 또는 그 비슷한 감을 느낀 적은 없습니다. 우려했던 것보다 이 도시가 안전하다는 느낌을 전 받았습니다. 마지막 날 밤 비행기로 떠나는 날, 오전에 체크아웃하고 짐을 맡기면서 프론트에 부탁했습니다. 이따가 저녁에 돌아와서 샤워 좀 하고 비행기 타게 해달라고. 저녁에 오니까 깨끗하게 청소된 방 키를 하나를 건네줍니다... 차지 없이. 친절한 칭구들입니다. 저는 이런 인상을 갖고 떠났습니다. 아 보너스 하나... 저는 사정이 있어 월드컵 시작 전에 다녀와야 했고 현지인이 권유한 호텔은 풀~이어서 급하게 이 호텔을 예약했는데, 10미터 쯤 거리의 바로 다음 건물에 '비원'이라는 한식집 간판을 보고는 시쳇말로 깜놀~했습니다. 매일 한번은 들렀습니다
Phil (10/5): - Good hotel, close to central Saint Petersburg. Good staff. Room was good. Hotel bar "Bar 13" was very good and friendly, and always welcoming especially at the end of a long day of walking around the city.
Cadhlan (6/5): Average hotel and almost good location - Located on the outskirts of the city. Sure you can walk to the centre and the main sights but it is a walk to first get there. The breakfast was like in a hostel. Not hotel quality. There were not really warm choises available and all the dairy products were just left on the table so you didn't know how long they were standing in the warm. The room was adequate and nicely decorated with the old time look. Would pick another hotel for a next visit.

88Bene88 (8/5): Good - Nice hotel and cheap, very close to the center of the city (winter palace 10 minute by walk), st Isaac cathedral (5 minute by walk). Nice room, nice bathroom, but it is without elevator. Not all of the staff speak English.
Mags-from-Ireland (10/5): Our stay - We stayed in Hotel 1913 for three nights and were absolutely pleased with it: nice, clean and comfortable rooms with bottles of water left each day for us, lovely buffet breakfast and cosy ground floor bar with live music on Friday night. It's is located about 8 minute walk from Sadovaya metro stop and is very close to all the major attractions. The price we paid for the three nights was super reasonable. Therefore we highly recommend it if you plan a trip to St Petersburg.

Pete (8/5): Good HOTEL. GREAT location. - Overview This hotel is in a prime location, within walking distance from most of the attractions in St Petersburg. Staff very friendly although disappointingly a few (NOT ALL STAFF) are not up yo scratch with where the attractions or metro are actually located within their city. The room was comfotable although the tv screen is tiny and too far from the bed to actually see it properly. FREE WIFI is non-existsnt and whrn it does work, the signal is very WEAKVand continually drops out at night and during the day. The Shower is good with good water pressure except thst you have to climb into it anf the step down is over 30cm (1 FOOT) and awkward to step in and out of. There is a fridge in the room, but even when plugged in and turned on, it doesn't work. The bed is very comfortable and clean. BREAKFAST is included in the room fee and is VERY GOOD. A full continental breakfast is oferred and includes everything. OVERALL the hotel is worth going back to stay in again My rating 4.25 out of 5.
nicoladurano (10/5): Very good hotel, great location - We stayed here for 5 nights and we really liked the cleanliness and good service. The location of he hotel is excellent if you do like walking around the city. Breakfast is OK but could benefit from an upgrade. Still no fault.
StefanoRM75 (8/5): Will become 5 excellent shortly - I gave 4 out of 5 rating only due to the awesome entrance to the new section of the hotel, which is definitely terrifying. The staff however confirmed that it is going to be restructured shortly. The rest is great: nice and clean rooms, not luxury but very comfortable, friendly staff, walking distance from most San Petersburg sightseeings. Quality/price ratio is excellent.
Cickany (10/5): Impeccably clean hotel, extremely helpful staff - The hotel has an excellent location. It is not in the centre but everything can be easily reached. A five-minute walk from St Isaac's cathedral and it takes about 10 minutes to get to the Neva. This is especially useful if you want to watch the opening of the bridges starting at about 1 am. A perfectly safe area and very clean, too. As is St Petersburg in general. The hotel is on a big road but the windows block out traffic noise.The hotel has probably been recently (or in the near past) refurbished in partly art nouveau style as everything is in very good repair. Everything is quiet and peaceful; there are no cleaning ladies shouting at 6 am on the corridors yet your room is cleaned thoroughly every day. It is not very easy to find the entrance because there is a restaurant with the same name and with a more apparent entrance next to the hotel. Very good breakfast in the restaurant which can be accessed through the hotel without having to go out to the street. I am not sure about hotel prices in St Petersburg but from what rumours say this is excellent value for money.
Verified traveler (8/5): Great Location in St. Petersburg - This is a very nice hotel. Great location, clean room, had everything needed. Only issue was with the taxi company they use. We did notify the hotel about this though so hopefully they will use another company in future. Reception staff were very kind, breakfast was good. Overall very good value, would DEFINATELY recommend if you want to be right in the center of St Petersburg.

dumpling4 (10/5): Nice vintage hotel - Nice vintage hotel with friendly and helpful staffs. Excellent location. Bus stop right in front of the hotel entrance. Amazing breakfast. Clean, comfortable and spacious room with wifi. Modern bathroom with toiletries. No kettle in room, however drinking water is available at the public area between rooms with a large dining table, sofas and chairs and a classy chess table there. So cozy. They allowed us to leave our baggage in their baggage storage room before check in time and after checking out. Such a traveler friendly hotel that save us from lots of trouble carrying baggage around. Highly recommended hotel.

Katherine (10/5): Lovely renovation - Hats off to the hotel. It is a few adjacent, Nouveau-era buildings which have been thoughtfully renovated and integrated. My room was lovely and quiet for the location, but with all the modern amenities - including a nicely renovated bathroom. The 1913 Restaurant, attached, serves nouveau cuisine takes on Russian classics (among other dishes) and I enjoyed eating there twice during my stay. The hotel staff was a wealth of information on local services and transportation.

Clive (4/5): Reasonable Location - Rooms do not look anything like the pictures provided. Somewhat shabby to say the least. Room had a bad smell near the fridge which was reported but not sorted out. Shower cubicle a disaster - modern electronics not connected. Small and not fixed installation. Wobbled about when used and very small. On the plus side the staff were pleasant. the restaurant was quite nice and appropriate for a 3,5 star. Building was refurbished from a 200 year old structure and in places like the staircase it showed quite badly.

Ralph (4/5): Normal 3 stars hotel less than expected - Ok i knew it has no elevator with 4 floors but i was ok with it. First dissapointment is that they sent me a taxi with a normal car (not a taxi) maybe some normal citizen driving his car as a "taxi" and the journey wasn't that pretty specially that we were pulled over by police for going in a wrong way opposite to traffic and he got a ticket. Second dissapointment is the breakfast: Maybe this is the poorest breakfast ever witnessed. I could have had a much better one at home. Little qty and variety and if you don't like all sorts of food you are stuck with one kind all your stay. Third dissapointment: Apparently they used for photos on the website some special lens to shoot the room in a way they would look much bigger than reality. I was surprised the deluxe room was much smaller than it looked in photos. Good thing: the staff was awsome, helpful, smiling all the time and this was a cooling factor that i adored. Last advise: Metro station in St. Petersbourg are not as many as in Moscow, so the nearest one was like 700 meters from the hotel. Better choose a hotel close to a metro even if it was farther than city center. It would take less time to arrive than walking. I think Hotel 1913 is one of these hotels trying really hard to be good but still need much work. I would have stayed in a 4* hotel farther from city center and closer to a metro station with the same price or even less.
