- Karine (9/5): Amazing stay - Everything. It was a great stay Nothing
- Christin (10/5): -
- Evert Arbman (10/5): -
- Gail (10/5): A lovely stay in a historic village and house very close to Amsterdam - Absolutely beautiful accommodation is a quaint walkable/bike-able village. Nothing
- Maud (9/5): -
- Claudia (9/5): -
- Ria (6/5): Good but could be better - Location was excellent and breakfast was amazing. They also provided baby cot and bouncer. Parking was easily available. 1. We were charged full early check-in rate even when the room was fully ready when we arrived. This is not the norm. Early check in means if room is ready without extra effort then there should be no charge.
2. Stairs are too small for carrying suitcases.
3. There was a long insect found while sleeping on the pillows.
- Cornelia (10/5): Exceptional -

- Julie (10/5): Lovely stay, gorgeous village & excellent location for visiting surrounding areas. Very easy ride of just 5-10mins o - Beautiful position on side of lake, nicely presented. Good location for visiting many gorgeous villages. Dined at the hotel for 2 nights, the food was excellent & catered specifically to us. Excellent service & lovely attentive staff. We would love to visit again & would thoroughly recommend. Steep stairs up to our room, but we knew about them & soon got used to them . Found the wine expensive by the glass & would rather have bought a bottle.
- Ivar (10/5): Amazing - We felt at home and the location is amazing
- Krzysztof (10/5): Marvelous one night stay in a picteresque and charming place. - The hotel is located in a fantastic historic building preserved in perfect condition. It is run by a great, very friendly family. I love the idea of self service bar and incredible breakfast served at the veranda with a lake view.
- Mogaruiz (9/5): Superb - All was great! That we couldn't stay longer!!
- Simon (10/5): Exceptional - An outstanding place to stay with a fabulous historic house overlooking a beautiful lake canal in a wonderful quiet town near Amsterdam. Hosts Pamela and Garrol (sorry for wrong spelling) were so welcoming and lovely and the breakfast and dinner were superb. The stay here was a fabulous treat for us at the start of a European journey. Thank you for a memorable stay!

- Beth (9/5): Superb -
- Carrie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Greg (10/5): A truly amazing place!!! - An exceptional stay, in an exceptional place! Superb hosts and so kind, they made us feel so welcome and they looked after my wife really well, she’s a coeliac and therefore needs a gluten free diet, which is not always easy. Pamela and her husband Karl, our hosts, kindly sourced different GF breads each day for both breakfast and dinner with both being soooo good and simply stunning evening dinners from ‘Tim at the table’ (Tim being the chef and our hosts son!). Tim’s food was absolutely amazing, stunning dishes, beautifully served and of all but Michelin star quality (honestly!). Truly delicious, Thank you one again Tim for all your hard work! The breakfasts were just wonderful each morning too! Do not hesitate to book a stay here, both the accommodation and view over the lake form our room were just gorgeous, the immediate area is so, so beautiful and well worth exploring, plus only 12mins to Amsterdam by taxi or take the bus, which is just a 5min walk at the end of the road, should you want to pop in and out of the city as we did. An amazing place and an amazing stay, with such lovely hosts! Nothing.
- Marie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Svetlana (10/5): Perfect place - Cozy, stylish, bohemian atmosphere, beauty all around Not possible to have dinner without reservation in the village around
- Wynand (9/5): Perfect Inn and perfect location. - What an absolute gem!! The location is perfect and so is the service. Lots of attention to detail making us feel welcome. Breakfast is special and highly recommended. None, but be careful for extremely steep and narrow staircase if you are assigned the red room.
- Gabriele (9/5): Superb - Room very spacious, very nice breakfast
- Doenja (7/5): Good - Scenic location
Nicely renovated monastery
Nice room Poor duvet and mattress
Breakfast substandard
Audible house sounds in room above kitchen
- Nadine (10/5): A lovely getaway! Can 100% reccommend! - The Inn is nestled in the middle of the small town of Broek in Waterland. We loved the atmosphere of the Inn, and the extra attention when checking in. The room is lovely and beautifully renovated with all the luxuries. The bed is also very big and comfy.
Breakfast felt like a fine dining experience and we absolutely loved all the flavors and dishes that came out. Definately a great place to treat yourself for a weekend away. The staircase leading to the rooms is very small and steep. Not a problem for us, but I can imagine that if you have difficulties walking/climbing stairs, it could be a real challenge.
- David (10/5): Relaxing, beautiful and peaceful environment that enabled us to recharge our batteries from a busy trip. - Every thing, the peaceful, tranquil and over environment. The superb attention to details. Breakfast was amazing. Very little that we didn’t like. The place exceeded expectations.
- Jacky (9/5): Perfect - Pretty much everything!
Our evening meal was brilliant- Tim catered with our dietary needs with total care and the food was fantastic. Nothing.
- Claire (10/5): A wonderful place with lovely hosts. I can’t recommend this enough - Everything Nothing
- Gillian (10/5): Heavenly Inn. - I loved everything! The Inn is incredibly beautiful as was the village it's located in. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. I would highly recommend it and hope to stay there again.
- Lou (9/5): Exceeded expectations. - Beautifully renovated old vicarage. Wonderful hosts & delicious breakfasts. The private local boat trip was a highlight of our holiday. Such a unique & special location. Loved it all.
- Saskia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Steve (8/5): Very good -
- Mansour (9/5): Superb -
- Harry (9/5): Superb - Excellent place to stay, perfect for a couple. Comfortable and classy rooms, and the hosts are incredibly nice and welcoming. Highly recommended Nothing!
- Metasys (8/5): Bijou, Boutique, Slightly quirky but well placed for exploring the area - A beautiful location and the meal at the bistro in the local village was fantastic. We are treated as locals and our evening was very enjoyable. The location of the history of the building was very interesting and meeting the owners meant that we could better understand what had gone on in their progress to develop the Hotel. Breakfast was very good however, we were unaware of what was coming for breakfast and that meant that we did not know how long we were having to wait. It would've assisted us to know what was on the menu and it might of helped to actually help ourselves. The lady serving was not the most communicative.
- Anthony (10/5): Exceptional -
- Vanessa (10/5): A place that’s very special. - Everything. We couldn’t fault our stay. Such a gorgeous place, setting and staff. We were well looked after, using the bikes and the sauna. The breakfast was exceptional, we really enjoyed the different dishes each morning. The staff and family were very attentive and super welcoming. There were times we had the lounge area and what felt like the place to ourselves. It was perfect and tranquil but with easy access into the city. Nothing.
- Annamária (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely location, cosy comfortable room. Superb breakfast. Very narrow stairs upstairs, with luggage little bit uncomfortable.
- Nicholas (10/5): Excellent, beautiful location, quiet and the best breakfast we have ever eaten ! - absolutely everything, it’s location, it’s architecture, it’s comfort, breakfast and of course the staff and people that own it . A quiet beautiful oasis a 10 minute bus ride from busy Amsterdam. nothing it was perfect !
- Julie (9/5): A wonderful find. - Inn on the Lake is a gorgeous guest house in an idyllic location. The varied offerings at breakfast were lovely. The staff were helpful. The short bus ride to Amsterdam was very convenient. Just one thing to be mindful of - the stairs to the first floor bedrooms are steep and narrow.
- Pornchanok (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anonymous (10/5): Homey Bed and Breakdast - Great place! super clean and lovely stay. People working the front desk are so kind. Breakfast in the morning was delicious! Bus stop is a short walk, and leads right into Amsterdam central ❤️ nothing
- Louise (9/5): Very relaxing stay in lovely hotel. - Great place to stay - really comfortable bed and lovely decor. Very calming and relaxing place to stay with lovely setting right on lake. small village is picture perfect.
- Katy (9/5): Gorgeous and chilled hideaway in the Dam! Perfect for couples! - So beautiful, coffees in room the honest bar/fireplace. Breakfast was lovely and the view is such a lovely start to the day! Very happy to accommodate every need and super friendly. Nothing it was great
- Jennifer (10/5): Exceptional - Super cozy and warm atmosphere. Like being at home
- Charlotte (10/5): beautiful place, great people and amazing food - beautiful place, great people and amazing food
- David (10/5): Exceptional - Tim was a great host and the Inn was an amazing location by the Lake that was only 15 minutes from Amsterdam.
A very cozy Personalised Breakfast according to your dietary and allergy requirements.
Also you are able to book a private hot tub and sauna. Would definitely recommend.
- Şeyma (8/5): it is amazing to feel the nature and peace when you are staying. - Decoration, view and breakfast was amazing. actually only one trasportation and little walk was enough to reach to otel from central train station. but unfourtanetly otel is not in the center and going to otel with luggages was dificult for us. except that everything was amazing.
- Linde (9/5): Amazing -
- Aline (9/5): Great stay - beautiful room, great breakfast. perfect location.
- Ziad (9/5): Superb -
- Deon (10/5): Exceptional -

- Darren (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anonymous (10/5): Lovely hosts, gorgeous property, with lots to do in and around the area! - Our hosts Pamela and Rachel really made our stay what it was! They were the kindest, most thoughtful and went out of their way to make sure we made the most of our stay there since it was just for a single night. The property was stunning, it’s got multiple spots to lounge and relax- in the common areas indoors as well as out by the lake and even the rooms were spacious, comfortable and well equipped. I even rented a bike for the day to explore the rest of Broek in Waterland and I must add, the towns around are lovely as well! There was absolutely nothing to not like
- Philip (10/5): Het was perfect! -
- Faygi (8/5): Very good -

- Verified traveler (10/5): Erholungsurlaub pur - Liebe Gastgeber
- Jose-Elias (2/5): From 5 stars to 1 star - My first experience in this bed and breakfast on early 2017 was very good, so much that I planned to take my daughter with me during summer time, which I just did. This time, the way we were treated was bad:
- Were not informed on the check out time (11 AM) and were charged 50 euros for late check out at 2 PM
- Our stuff was dumped into a basket and placed it . out of the room
- The way the staff approached us was rude.
Will never return and will take back recommendations I gave to friends about this place.
- Susanne (10/5): Wunderschönes Hotel am See. Einfach Bezaubernd.
- Jose-Elias (10/5): Outstanding Experience at this hotel - Just what I was looking for. Quiet, peaceful, very scenic located in an iconic village 20 min from Amsterdam. The room is fantastic and the service was way above my expectations. The food is phenomenal; prepared with passion and love. I will come back on summer time!
- Alan (8/5): Beautiful setting in North Amsterdam - This house is georgeous but fails to be 5 stars as the windows do not open properly and insect screens need to be fitted to the inside FULLY so we can really get air in the Taupe room but we nred protection fRom mosquitos a we got stung several times. It needs at least a ceiling fan too as the room gets very hot and in the summer ir Indian summer like we just had in September 2016, we could only get two small openings open and at night it spoilt our sleep as we were sweating so much in bed. The host Pamela is very willing and helpful so you get plenty of assistance. The staff were very helpful too. We were very dissapointed that there was not even a small safe in the room - this was a big error by the owners as we were travelling a long time and needed to put many documents away but in our own room safe. Not good. Public transport to get to Amsterdam is brilliant well done the Dutch - you really excel at this. In the centre of the village is a double electric charging point for electric cars - again excellent! Used my "NEW IN MOTION" charge card there. Nearby is the 3 music notes bar. Excellent place with great atmosphere and really nice food and the owner and staff and even the customers are so friendly. Talking if which, even 9n the buses, people in this lovely part on Holland are so friendly and helpful and nearly all speak English. A few minor points that the owners must improve and get a better rating for there establishment but you must visit this fantastic area!
- joe (10/5): relaxing location yet close enough to the city - visited following a friends' suggestion. extremely relaxing and great possibility for moving around if you so wish. having Chef Timothy taking care of us was an additional bonus
- CC and RR (10/5): Beautiful B&B in a very pretty village - I really enjoyed my stay at Inn on the Lake. We arrived early in the morning and Pamela gave us a very warm reception, stored our luggage for us and set us up with bus tickets and an itinerary to explore the nearby towns of Volendam and Edam - this helped us with our jetlag (as we had come from Australia and Singapore) and gave us a beautiful introduction to Broeke, rather than get caught up in the hustle and bustle of Amsterdam city.
The breakfasts were wonderful - I highly recommend the Pamela egg :) and the view of Napoleon's tea house from the breakfast room was gorgeous.
After breakfast, take a walk around the town of Broeke - the town is so pretty, the houses look like dollhouses and the lake so soothing.
We were lucky to be in Amsterdam for King Day so we got to celebrate with the locals - they invited us to sing the Anthem in the church next door and we got to watch the children play musical instruments and sell/recycle toys, clothes and books they have outgrown. And the whole of Amsterdam seemed to be dressed in orange!
- michael (10/5): Peaceful and picturesque - Very warm and welcoming, feels like you are at home, breakfast in the conservatory looking over the lake hosts were very attentive and served a different, high quality breakfast each day
