Guest Reviews
- Robert (6/5): - The room wasn’t the cleanest, but not horrible. The worst thing is there’s almost no cell service and the WiFi was horrible.
- Russ (10/5): - Nice place, clean rooms. Need different window treatments as they let too much light in. Also need coffee before 7 am.
- Adam (10/5): - Good stay good staff and good times definitely recommend staying here
- Christopher (6/5): -
- Renee (10/5): - Love this place!! You can park your bike right out your front door and the place is super clean. They are motorcycle friendly. There’s a restaurant in bar right on the property. Definitely going back.
- Camille (8/5): - Very basic, clean room, bed not the greatest. Didn’t like the fact that there was not a chair in the room, if you wanted to sit and read, etc. Liked the old-fashioned key, instead of an electronic card. Overall, pretty good for the price.
- brenda (10/5): - We have stayed at this motel several times and go back for the convenient parking, ability to sit outside and if you want to take in their bar/restaurant. The folks are very friendly and helpful. I do wish there was a frig in the room but we adjust!
- John (8/5): - It was a nice stay
- Allen (10/5): - Very private
- Mike (4/5): Dirty/Stinky - Floors were terrible dirty with hair and garbage everywhere. We had to wipe the floor down so we could walk around in our socks without getting chunks on them. One of the middle blankets on the bed had stains on it. Room was NON SMOKING but smelt like heavy smoke. I have staid at this hotel main times and never experienced this level of uncleanliness before.
- Martin (10/5): - Easy access
- Craig (10/5): Pleasant stay - Very helpful and friendly staff, room good and clean
- Leanne (8/5): - The room was clean, smelled new. The only problem we had was the noise from the interstate and the windows really could use some blackout curtains because the entire room was lit up all night by the parking lot lights, even with the blinds closed. Blackout curtains would also help with the noise levels. The price was excellent compared to other options for the event we attended and we would stay again.
- Martin (2/5): - Arrived an hour after check-in time only to find our room had not been cleaned, blanket on the floor and no sheets on the bed. The second room that was offered had a faulty lock with the door knob hanging off, requiring a person to forcibly close the door in order to close it.
When asked to be refunded I was told initially I would be provided with the owners phone number to call him the next day. I was later told by the same clerk he could no longer give out the number but would take down my information and that the owner would give me a call. As I did not believe I was able to secure my room for the night I did not stay at Iron Horse Inn, driving to another hotel (Super 8) that provided a clean and secure hotel room.
I would not recommend this hotel. As of this date I still have not received a call from the owner and believe I will not be reimbursed.
- George A (10/5): - N/a
- Mindy (4/5): - Coming for Sturgis on motorcycle. This place needs a refrigerator and microwave and coffee pot in every room! Paid $2360 for 5 days couldn't even keep our waters cold!
- Randy (10/5): - Great spot to stay caters well to bikers
- Sara (8/5): Clean bare bones motel - Motel was clean but bare bones. Bed was hard, 2 pillows per bed. No fridge or microwave. Nor their fault but motorcycles work us up every morning.
- Randy (10/5): - Nice
- Linda (8/5): - Very nice and comfortable.
Our sink did not have water in the morning. At least the shower worked so it worked out OK
- nathan (8/5): - Good property, quiet, clean, friendly staff.
- jill (10/5): - A nice and clean hotel!! Thank you for that!! Just right for what we needed. All we want is a clean room and clean bedding!! Perfect
- Randy (8/5): - Good stay for an overnight.
- James (10/5): - Room was very clean food was awsome. Have stayed there before and would stay again.
- Gary (8/5): - I’m an Iron Horsemen from NC and I’ve never heard of this place until the night I stayed there. Biker friendly ! Park your bike right in front of your room. Rooms were super clean especially the bathroom. Easy on and off hwy and the surrounding area was convent and had everything you need right there. Can’t beat a bar and restaurant right next door. Everyone working there was rock solid and friendly. Young man at the desk was courteous and accommodating. He even met us in parking lot to retrieve room keys so we didn’t even have to get off the motorcycles. Love the price and views also. Will return in the future for a longer stay.
- Steve (2/5): - total disappointment. Charged more than booked price.
- Christine (6/5): - no frig, no table or space for belongings. no breakfast. spent $ 78 the night before & had all these items no light blocking drapes. just blinds- woke at 6am due to light . Basically a bed, bathroom & a sink . Receptionist was in the bar when we arrived
- Mary (4/5): Clean rooms but bad beds - The room was clean, but lacked counter space to put anything down. Bathroom small but functional. The beds were extremely hard and uncomfortable so We didnt sleep much and woke up in pain.
- Christina (8/5): Decent - Just needed a place to sleep while passing through. Easy check in and friendly staff. The rooms were surprisingly in decent shape for a “biker”hotel. A little dingy and run down but overall a good experience. I would avoid during sturgis!
- Lindsay (10/5): Keeping this in mind for future trips! - Loved this place. It was affordable, clean, simply furnished with very comfortable beds and AC. The service/staff were fantastic even when we were checking in at 1:30a.m. We will definitely plan on staying here again!
- Carl (10/5): - It was all great here,no problems, everything went well...
- Willis (8/5): - There was no table or chairs in the room. No ice machine. They sell bags of ice.
- Cristina (8/5): - Great place and location
- stacy (10/5): - Great stop on our ride
- Miriah (10/5): - Room was clean and ac worked. Small no mini fridge or microwave, which is ok but be prepared for that.
- Thomas (6/5): Comfortable but... - The rooms need a comfortable chair, my room had no chair at all, they also need a small fridge and microwave. The Wi-Fi was excellent!
- Sam (8/5): - Price
- John (10/5): - Gg
- Rodney (4/5): - Shower had NO HOT WATER!!
- Jack (2/5): Lost reservation - When I arrived they told me they hasd no reservation and no rooms available. I wouls like to know what happene to the reseervation. I had surgery the next morning so it was not like I could just go home. i had to go to another motel and take the first room
- Jeff (8/5): - Very basic room for a good price in February. Nice bar/diner onsite.
- jennelle (10/5): - It was wonderful. They were kind and helpful!! The only thing was that the elevator wasn’t working and we stayed on 3rd floor. It was supposed to be getting fixed.
- Tina (10/5): - Friendly service
- Justina (10/5): - Older style place but very clean
- Alan (6/5): - Really wasn't nothing unique about it had no refrigerator or microwave and the coffee in
- Wayne (10/5): - Price and clean and friendly people!
- Julie (10/5): - The staff was very nice and the room was very clean and well kept. We only stayed for 1 night but the bed was comfortable and the lobby had good coffee in the morning. The restaurant and bar next door had really great pizza and a very friendly staff and family atmosphere as well. Nice that we could just walk there.
- April (8/5): - Easy to get to and find. Great price especially for last minute reservations. Clean room, but did smell like cigarette smoke.
- Linda (8/5): - Rather pricey and small room and shower, with no amenities like ice, frig, micro. Bed very average.
- Dorothy (8/5): - Stayed in Whitewood because it was conveniently located between Kool Deadwood Nites and Central States Fair in Rapid City. Rates were fair. Quiet. Clean.
- Zane (6/5): - The rooms are pretty bare bones, but it was affordable and close to the bike rally
- Tracy (8/5): - Little outdated- we had a box tv in the room- didn’t use it but I haven’t seen one in years. Staff was great - and bar was really nice. Their pizza is awesome
- Pamela (2/5): Definitely the most basic of basic - This was the most basic of basic hotels that hasn't been updated since the 70's. The beds and pillows are far past their useful life and the rooms have zero insulation for noise. Even with only a handful of rooms full the noise was crazy. You could hear everything from the people next door to us. Front desk clerk was very nice and kind. I get they are not going for 5 star but this was 1 star...if they spent a few hundred bucks and updated the bed, pillows and carpet, it would be amazing!
- TERRI (6/5): - Question the cleanliness. Everything looked ok on the surface but there was a sock from a previous quest under the bed right on the edge of the bed. Not hard to miss.
- Kia (6/5): - Good for a late stop after driving all day and for the price. Room had a little musky smell, but opening the window for a bit helped.
- Pamela (8/5): - Nice enough for a short little stay in a road trip!
- Erick (8/5): - Very simple but had what we needed
- Rhonda (10/5): - Great place for a traveler to rest
- Todd (10/5): - Easy access
- John (10/5): - Lots of motorcycles, which makes sense since it is near Sturgis. I’m not an enthusiast.
Clean room, easy check-in.
- cornell (10/5): Out of town - Good secure quiet out of the town
- Richard (8/5): Good place to stay if you're on a motorcycle. - This is a very basic hotel but it was a very enjoyable experience. It was clean and it worked very well for the motorcycle trip we were on.
- david (10/5): - Great in every way.
- Terry (8/5): Great value - No frills best price around easy unpack the bike at the door quiet and great cafe down the road
- Steven (10/5): Good place to stay - Hotel room was clean and provided everything needed. I didn't spend much time at the hotel, so it suited my needs well.
- Julia (10/5): - We enjoyed our stay. The Inn is very basic, but had all the things we needed for an overnight stay. We are considering returning for the 2025 rally.
- Doug (10/5): - Easy check in, easy parking, clean, quiet, easy checkout.
- Cheryl (6/5): - no ice
- Amanda (10/5): - Very nice place to stay at a reasonable price!
- Nancy (10/5): - Nice room for the price. Not much counter space but we managed!
- Adam (10/5): - Loved it! Super friendly. Very clean.
- Mindy (10/5): - Great place off the beaten path. Beds are old and bedding could be updated but everything else was fine for the price.
- Gail (10/5): - Great place to dtsy6
- Julie (10/5): - Very nice and clean.
- Eugenia L. (2/5): - Very basic. No phone in the room, no table or chairs. Just two beds and a bathroom
- Brian (8/5): - Nice clean place and very fair price. Only thing I didn’t like was the bed. Woke up with a really sore lower back. Bar/Grill next door was nice.
- Bob (10/5): - Check in went smooth and was quit and bed were comfortable.
- Dusti (10/5): - Got checked in and helped right away. Everything went smooth and the beds are comfortable. Cute place to stay and peaceful.
- Sherolyn (8/5): Clean, no frills room. Perfect. - It's a no frills clean Motel. No fridge no microwave. Nice little rooms without paying for the posh crap noone needs for a traveling thru the area stay.
- John (10/5): - I enjoyed my stay very much!
- Elizabeth (8/5): Cheap and not a stereotypical cheap motel - I was worried because it was a little motel, but I was very happy that night. Nobody bothered me and I left in the morning. I would say my only complaint is no ice.
- James (10/5): - Inexpensive. Clean. Friendly. Bargain.
- Sánchez (2/5): - The hotel manager said that he had no rooms available and that my reservation had already been paid for and that he would not give me my room.
- Pamela (10/5): - The staff was friendly and efficient!
- Zelma K (10/5): - Good location in relation to other local attractions.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Its a room - Hotel has room, bed, thin walls so you can hear every whisper of your neighbor. On the other hand, it is clean and off the beaten path. No micro/refrigerator.
Very much "an."
- Merle (10/5): - Rooms were very clean and nice. Breakfast was very good.
- Rhea (8/5): - The room was clean and even though people in other reviews say it's dated it didn't have a dated smell like other older hotels it was a descent place to stay for those in doubt
- Dwaine (8/5): - Nice place to stay and play
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice place for bikers - Our stay was great. They do whatever they can to accommodate bikers during the rally. I even lost my Fitbit while there and they found it and sent it to me. That’s awesome guest service! Will definitely stay there again.
- Dorothy (8/5): Kool Deadwood Nites - Room was pretty clean except for the tortilla chips between the bed and the night stand. Check in went smoothly. Just a one night stay. Close to Deadwood.
- Marla (8/5): - Second stay, We will be back. Convenient place for anything you might want to do. Nice little bar and quick place to grab a bite to eat. Easy to find.
- Ronald (6/5): Okay in a pinch - This place obviously caters to the biker folks, and that's all well and good, but for a solo or family, it might be a bit noisy with bikes coming and going. Not the cleanest motel I've been in. A bit old and could use an upgrade for sure.
- Lois (10/5): Our Montana trip - Very small rooms, no dresser, refrigerator or coffeemaker. Having a restaurant ( bar/grill) next door was nice, though.
- Eric (10/5): - It is the 3rd time I have stayed here, they have nice , clean rooms I also like the cover over the motorcycle parking
- Hallinan (8/5): No Frills. BUT super convenient and clean - The staff were extremely friendly and helpfull. The place is older and it's pretty basic, but for the price and availability during Sturgis well I was Happy! No frills. Clean and convenient. The food was pretty good next door.
- kenneth (10/5): - We have stayed here many times! And already reserved next year! Super great owners, staffs and facilities! And a shuttle to downtown Sturgis!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice clean/quiet place - Stayed for one night as I was passing through the area. The room was clean...shower was hot with good water pressure...bed was comfortable with clean, fresh smelling linens.
Only negative was that they only have ice for sale by the bag....couldn't fill my travel mug with ice water as the adjacent restaurant wasn't open when I left early the next morning.
- Lynn (6/5): - Just ok, old and out dated, over priced.
- David (10/5): - Staff was great
