• Nirmal K (1/5): - Worst management I've ever seen. I was told they didn't receive my booking and asked me to cancel. Luckily it wasn't my first time in Weligama and I knew a different place.
• Ruth (9/5): - Das Zimmer und Bad waren schön, modern und sauber. Generell war das Haus sehr einladend. Auch die Gastgeber waren freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wir wurden sogar am letzten Tag mit dem Tuktuk zum Bahnhof gefahren. Leider gab es einige Ameisen und keinen Mülleimer, aber es hat uns nicht groß gestört.

• Sabrina (7/5): - Sehr nette und hilfsbereite Gastgeber! Relativ ruhige Lage. Gutes Frühstück und die Möglichkeit, zu Abend zu essen! Fan direkt überm Bett. Mein Zimmer war relativ dunkel und etwas feucht. Im Bett war eine relativ dünne Matratze, weshalb man hat das Holzgestell fühlen konnte. Die Dusche hatte keinen Vorhang, sodass der Boden im Badezimmer danach nass war. Ohrenstöpsel und Schlafmaske sind von Vorteil.
• Mira (10/5): Lovely owners and a great place to stay! - We loved staying here, and the lovely owners made it all the better! The room was nice, and the fans were enough to keep us cool. If you need anything you can just ask the owners and they will gladly help you with any problem. For the price it was definitely worth it, though it was a little far from the city at times. However we liked being in the middle between Ahangama and Mirissa, so we could make day trips. And they also have a tuktuk if you want to go somewhere! The breakfast was also nice, and good priced. Would stay here again if I come back to Weligama.

Great Sri Lankan breakfast in pleasant outside area. Quiet within the building, I thought I was the only one staying until I saw everyone at breakfast! Near the main road - traffic noise Tiny, scrappy little towel provided Quite a few mosquitoes in outside area (but the lady lent me some repellent) Bed a wee bit hard, but not bad

El desayuno increíble, intentaban personalizarlo lo máximo posible. El alojamiento cierra a las 23:00, pero si llegas mas tarde se levantan a abrirte sin problema. En las habitaciones superiores hacia mucho calor y la presión de la ducha podría ser mejorable.

• Prabath (7/5): Pleasant gateway in weligama - I recently stayed at a lovely room near Weligama city and had a great experience overall. The location is perfect for exploring the area, with easy access to local attractions and the beach. The room itself was comfortable and well-maintained. However, I did encounter an issue with the water pressure, which was a bit disappointing.

• Neil (8/5): Okay - Host was happy to get up at 5:30 am to take me to the whale watching boat Stayed two days, no hot water - not fixed and no alternative offered and no discount. A good 1km walk from the main beach
• Fabian (10/5): - A very nice and clean house. The house is run by a couple who take excellent care of their guests. Always obliging and super nice, they help with the planning and give tips. The house is located in a side street right next to the coastal road and with a tuktuk or scooter you can be at any hotspot (surfing, cafes, bars etc.) in just a few minutes. Scooters can be hired directly on site. There is also the option of having breakfast/dinner at the hotel. We tried both and had delicious local dishes at a good price. Highly recommended and if we come to Welingama again, we will go here.

• Sonny (10/5): - The hosts were amazing, they treated us like family and the breakfasts they made in the morning were delicious. They have two little puppies and an older dog who are an absolute delight to play with. The rooms are spacious and fitted with fans. Nothing I didn’t like.
• ROY (2/5): מקום דוחה ויחס מגעיל לא להתקרב. - יש מים חמים , ושני גורי כלבים חמודים . 1 . החדר לא היה מוכן בזמן ונאלצתי להמתין שלוש שעות על מנת שהחדר יהיה מוכן . 2 . החדר היה מסריח ומצחין וחנוק ולפי ההזמנה שלי היה אמור להיות חדר עם מזגן ומרפסת שניהם לא היו כמו בהזמנה ! . 3 . ארוחת בוקר קטנה ומינימלית , מלא זבובים ונמלים מסביב . 4 . הבעלים מכה את שני הגורי כלבים שיש שם עם מקל , ממש צער בעלי חיים . 5 . הסדינים מסריחים ולא נקיים קירות עם עובש . 6 . שביקשתי לצאת מאוחר יותר כי המתנתי שלוש שעות לחדר הוא לא איפשר ואמר שהוא שמר לי על התיקים ביזיון . 7 . בהגעתי למקום ביקש שאבטל את ההזמנה דרך booking על מנת שלא יצטרך לשלם עמלה , ועדיין אשלם את אותו מחיר חצוף . 8 . הוא נועל את השער הראשי בשעה 23:00 מה שאילץ אותי לחזור כל יום לפני השעה האמורה כדי לא להינעל בחוץ . 9 . חייב אותי עבור הקפה לקחתי מחיר גבוה ממה שכתוב אצלהם בתפריט ועוד עשר אחוז שרות . 10 . ביקש שאכתוב בbooking ביקורת טובה אם אני לא מבטל את ההזמנה, ממש לא ! 11 . בבוקר הוא נעל את.הכלבים בחדר שצרחו ללא הפסקה והעירו אותי מוקדם בבוקר . 12. כל האורות היו מכוסים וחשוך במסדרון המדרגות כי הוא רצה לחסוך בחשמל . 13 . האנגלית שלו ברמה ירודה וקשה לתקשר . היה גועל נפש לא אחזור לשם בחיים לא ממליץ .

• Ilker (9/5): Great hosts felt like home - During our stay as a group at this hotel managed by lovely couple Kanthi & Kantha we felt like home. The location was great, near to the Jungle Beach as well as 5 min by TukTuk from Weligama city center. The rooftop has a nice view and perfect for doing Yoga. We were lucky to stay in a room with air conditioner but non-AC rooms were a little humid.

• Denitsa (10/5): Find your family in Sri Lanka :) - Castle Bay Resort has become my second home in Sri Lanka. The family that owns it took care of me as if I was their daughter. They are amazing people! The hotel itself is the best place you can find for this price. The rooms are nice, clean and comfortable with spacious common balconies. Breakfast is in big portions. Located in a quiet street close to the beach. I absolutely recommend!

• Luka (10/5): - After traveling a lot i can honestly say this is the best stay ive had in a very very long time. Its located very close to Weligama, you can get to Weligama beach with a scooter in 3 min, which you can also rent at the property. The hosts are husband and wife and they really made me feel like i was a part of the family, Kanta and Kanti are absolutely amazing. They are at your service for anything you need at any time There is also one beach that is a 2 min walk from the property but i forgot the name of it. Everything is exceptionality clean as they clean every day, you can also request room cleaning. Beds are amazing and very comfortable. Kantis food is unmatched, breakfast is amazing as well as all the things on the menu. There is also a large rooftop with a partial ocean view which is an amazing place to sit and relax for some time. On the rooftop there is also a kitchen for guests to use which is fully equipped with everything you need from the fridge to the cooking. Overall, best place ive stayed in a very long time, highly recommend and i will definitely be coming back here very soon!

• Theresa (10/5): Exceptional - We had a wonderful stay at this amazing accommodation in Sri Lanka! From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the incredibly friendly hosts, who made us feel like part of their family. Their hospitality is truly outstanding and made our stay unforgettable. A special highlight was the delicious and plentiful breakfast, lovingly prepared every morning. The accommodation itself is very clean, cozy, and ideally located for exploring the area. The only small point for improvement would be the Wi-Fi, which could be expanded. Overall, we highly recommend this place and would love to come back. A huge thank you to the hosts and their wonderful family! Everything is nice. A scooter or tuktuk is recommended for flexibility.

• Charles (10/5): Fantastic little villa that is brilliant value & wonderful host - Fantastic value for money. We stayed in the Villa which is across the road from the main house. Good for a little bit more privacy. It’s basic but has everything you need. The owner went above and beyond to make us feel welcome - including letting us check in early after a long journey to Sri Lanka, Cooking us an evening meal, organising transport, running us about in his Tuk Tuk. We would stay here again when back in Weligama. The Villa also has several Tortoises that wander around the garden. It’s a small trip to the surf beach but 3mins in a Tuk Tuk for 300 or so rupees

• Isaac (10/5): Best dhal in Sri Lanka! - From the moment we arrived, the hosts made us feel so welcome. They really and truly went above and beyond throughout the duration of our stay. It is a very relaxing atmosphere at this resort. The breakfasts were so delicious and you will have wonderful chats, jokes, and hugs with the hosts. It is them who made our stay a special one. We did our open water PADI cert while staying here and the diving center is literally right beside this resort which was so convenient! So if you are interested in diving, Castle Bay Resort is the place for you stay. Not only that, but you are only a 15 min walk into the main town and about 10 min walk to jungle beach. We liked being a little bit out of town as we enjoy peace and quiet. We cannot recommend this place enough! Oh and you will get the best veggie dhal and coconut roti here!👌

The facilities were really nice, and, above all, the warm hospitality and incredible helpfulness of the owners stood out. They went above and beyond to ensure that every aspect of my stay was perfect. I highly recommend this place to travelers of all types. • Tatiana (9/5): Good value for money, quite place - We rented 2 rooms in the villa and had the whole house just for us. The owner is helpful and nice. The location is 2,5 km from the beach. We didn't know the city, so booked randomly. If you are coming to Weligama for surfing, it's not very convinient to take transport every time. Also small choice of restaurants around.

• Ching (9/5): Stay in a place like home with super friendly local family. - I planned to stay there for 4 days, but in the end I stayed there for couple of weeks! This place is comfortable and clean, with super friendly local family. They made me feel like home and treated me like their own daughter! I had the chance to join their dinner and tried their homemade local rice and curry. That’s delicious as well as the breakfast. The room was clean and cozy. Big shower place with hot water which is very important to me. It is not super far from the city centre(10mins by bike, few mins by motorbike/ tuk tuk) but if u wanna stay in a quiet place, that’s your choice. Motorbike and bike are available to rent in this place. U can go surfing or swimming with sea turtles on Weligama beach, it’s just few minutes walk. Or u can go a little further to jungle beach(~15 minute walk) which is bigger, there are some nice bars and restaurants. Oh don’t forget to play with their 2 adorable dogs, named Doggy and Timmy. They are so cuttteeeee!

• charles (10/5): - Staying at Castle Bay Guesrhouse is like visiting your family. Kanthi and Kantha are very warm and welcoming and want to make their guests comfortable , happy snd well fed..Kanthi is a great cook and her dahl is the best. Rooms are well maintained and very clean. The location is walking distance from a beautiful beach and a short tuk tuk ride to restaurants and other beaches where you can surf or snorkel. We highly recommend this very economicak guest house .
• Verified traveler (10/5): Lovely place, good standard, wonderful owners - We loved our stay at this place! The owners make you feel at home the moment you step through the doors. They are extremely helpful and caring, and if we ever needed help with anything (like getting to the airport in Colombo), they fixed it. The breakfasts were nice, the standard of the hotel is very, very good. It's a short tuk tuk ride from the main beach in Weligama, or a little sweaty walk. There's a place to snorkel close to the hotel, and if you go for a little walk, there is a nice bay to go swimming next to a cliff of luxury houses, and you will probably see monkeys on your way there. I absolutely recommend this hotel, because the standard is really good, and as mentioned, the owners are lovely, and you can pay by card which is very convenient. The only "negative" is that we stayed for some days so there was alot of sand in our bathroom in the end, due to the limited cleaning.
