- Paul (4/5): Budget Hostel Byker - Value for money and local facilities. Staff weren't present. You had to deal with a hostile chap in the shop below. Surrounding area is rough.

- Daisley (7/5): - Good price. Room was nice and clean. Bed was okay a little springy. Close to B&M and some supermarkets. Staff were generous and friendly. Location wasnt the best and far from city center. Kitchen didnt have a sink or drinkable water.
- Gary (1/5): - Unable to contact property at all, therefore nothing to like No response on website, email or phone
- Philip (5/5): Mediocre accommodation, probably not my best hostel experience - The fact that I could park nearby without restriction. It's reassuring that the police station effectively covers the rear of the property where my car was parked. The kitchen's a bit makeshift, basically an ex bedroom with a fridge table microwave, kettle but no utensils. You had to visit the Gents to get water.
The three sets of three tier beds are squeezed into a small room. We had an unfortunate fellow guest. Not the hostel's fault, but it made for a less than satisfactory sleep experience.
There was no lounge, so I jumped in my car and drove down to the hotel. Du Vin for a beer and a 'rise of atmosphere'.
If you were a guest on foot, I believe a buzz would take you down a similar route. Of course there's always the weather spoons opposite, which I didn't notice until a late hour.

- John (3/5): I went elsewhere! - Nothing good about it's location. I didn't stay there when I saw its location. I couldn't find the place although I was at the right place geographically. I would not have stayed in the location it was anyway. Not a nice area of Newcastle. Did not feel safe. I tried to contact staff via the number provided. No one answered and it went to answerphone. Despite leaving a message, I am still waiting for the call back. I found alternative accommodation. I would not recommend this hostel to anyone and I cannot understand (apart from the obvious commission reasons!) why Booking.com would list the accommodation on their site.
- Stuart (3/5): - I was meant to get breakfast included but their was none i got woke up 5 times and I got charged twice for my bed
- Tuesday (2/5): I left in the middle of the night - Hostel wasn't too far out of the city centre and granted the stay was pretty cheap. Lockers provided if you buy a padlock from the shop downstairs Facilities were few and far between, the beds were not allocated in dorms and plug sockets weren't available in all the spaces. Toilets were awful, there was urine on the floor. The front door was inaccessible for about an hour when I stayed as a man had passed out and thrown up in the doorway. No member of staff dealt with this. There was no one at the desk when I checked in and I dealt solely with the man in the shop downstairs. Be aware this is not a particularly nice area of Newcastle especially for young women.
- Rhodri (9/5): - Very comfy beds and high standard of cleanliness maintained throughout! Only one toilet shared between multiple bunk rooms, would benefit from a larger bathroom
- Philip (8/5): Excellent great - Manager of the hostel was really helpful and accommodating. Top man.
- John (1/5): - None we did not get any just a microwave nothing else I give it a 0 No staff to see anyone place fire hazard
- Oliver (10/5): -
- Amar (1/5): Receptionist isn’t professional, speaks rudely, no greetings, didn’t feel like a hostel, bedsheet felt like a prison, - Good location Very old seems like a abandoned building,
- Precious (5/5): -
- yass (10/5): Decent for price would stay again - Lovely

- Romina Elizabeth (10/5): -
- Bell (10/5): Good but not if you are a woman as dodgy foreign guy pesters for fag's and hangs out on the landing - A decent venue but was a very strange foreign man kept pestering us for cigarettes and every time we went to the toilet he was stood outside on the landing. Thought about knocking him out but was having too much of a good time. Maybe remind your permanent guests that it's a backpacking hostel and not a flat. The foreign guy that kept hanging around outside our hostel door and pestering for fags

- Sogah (6/5): Good - None None
- Smagul (10/5): - Есть все удобства, завтрак, вайфай, чистые одеяла, тв зона, приветливый персонал, удобное расположение, рядом магазины, аптека, станция метро.
- El harrar (1/5): -

- Sudhakar (8/5): Good location and clean facilities. - Clean facilities.
Friendly staff .
Good location.
Other inmates are quite . Slightly more spacious.
- Jennifer (1/5): - The room was booked for 4 nights and the guest was asked to leave after the first night claiming the booking hadn't gone through and the booking didn't exist. The money left my account. The owner advised they would refund me the following Monday, he has been ignoring my calls and texts since.
- Dean (2/5): awful way over priced for just a bed of springs - nothing there is not 24 hour staff, no emergency fire plans or any fire extinguishers if there was to be a fire. no member of staff on site random people seem to come and go all hours of the night without bookings. very cramped rooms and dining table areas
- Mercy (1/5): -
- Antonin (4/5): -
- Chantel (8/5): Cheap and cheerful. You get what you pay for. Just a room for one night beds were clean. - It was super cheap, you get what you pay for Not clear about checking in at the shop next door. Offers free breakfast this didn’t happen but spoons is over the road so all good.
- Bradley (8/5): -
- Eak (1/5): -
- Naim (1/5): -
- Stuart (1/5): - Very on clean nosie and had lots off people coming into the room.at night that wasn't staying their Nothing
- Natalie (5/5): Basic and cheap good if your looking for to that - Privacy wasn't disturbed bed wasn't clean and suspicious brown mark on the carpet mattress was very thin but if you need somewhere cheap to stay it would do. arrival not very pleasant and was told the code to get in but not where to leave key on departure
- Tye (1/5): Dirty, Dangerous, Horrible place that lies & advertises free breakfast & this is simply not true !!! - There is simply nothing to like about this hotel at all It advertises free breakfast this was a lie and nothing was available EVER. No way to contact anyone. Full of scum. Needs closing down
- Brian (7/5): Felt like a secret bunker… if bunkers came with five-star kindness. - The hideout vibes were cool, but Norbert’s kindness really sealed the deal—man deserves a medal !! Clean showers, free tea, and cosy vibes—hostel life done right. Packing 12 beds into that small space could definitely be rethought. Luckily it wasn’t full during my stay, so no stress—but I couldn’t help imagining 12 people squeezed in there like a can of sardines.
- Brendon (6/5): Overall it was acceptable, cheap place if all you need is somewhere to sleep. - Family room was a good size and the property was close to all amenities and the Metro.
Overall it met the requirements for having a place to sleep and was reasonably priced. Upstairs toilet needs levelling up properly and also could use a mirror over the sink. Skirting boards in there really need a wipe down.
Silly marks on walls etc that need wiping off would make the overall aesthetic better.
Window could use a blind in the room.

- Colin (1/5): Glad to get out of that hovel - Location was good for what i was down for(the great north run) An absolute hovel. Was so dirty i actually went to the morrisons across the road and bought a cheap fitted sheet which i used to cover both the mattress and duvet. No way was i sleeping on their rank bedding. God knows when it was last washed. Was advertised as breakfast included, it wasnt there wasnt even cutlery. Advert said check out from 8am. Went down at 8:25 and the shop where i had to drop the key was still shut. Ended up leaving it somewhere safe within the hostel and messaged them to tell them where it was. Still had no reply.
I know it was cheap but that was an absolute shambles of a place. Wont be back

Une hygiène douteuse....

- paige (1/5): Look for another place - The staff were friendly The bathroom was filthy. I booked and was in a form with all men, and the beds were really uncomfortable and smelly
- Blair (1/5): Worst accommodation I have stayed in anywhere in the world. Avoid at any cost. - Absolutely nothing redeeming about this place. A doss house, a fire hazard, a health hazard, noisy and unfriendly staff!! Absolutely nothing redeeming about this place. A doss house, a fire hazard, a health hazard, noisy and unfriendly staff!!
I paid for a double room, got a single. I paid for breakfast. There was none. The sheets were dirty, the bathroom filthy, with no soap or toilet paper. Staff not interested or manager unreachable when I went to raise issues!!
- Kigho Moses (6/5): - It is okay for the night rest Lack of communication. Emails and calls are not usually answered
- Ronak (1/5): Improvement - Location is nearby Need everything improvement like breakfast, bed , cleaning, staff availability, need to modify new version it's hostel like very old
- Terry (8/5): Very good -
- Peter (1/5): Daunting - Not clean, no staff on duty. Could be a security issue. Nothing
- Pete (6/5): A safe, low cost, and reasonably convenient, place to sleep; I'll stop there again. - Did what it said on the tin; a cheap place to lay my head after a gig, an easy 25 minutes walk from my venue. Recommended for anyone travelling alone, with working legs. Check in at the corner store next door to the entrance. Random bedding that I'm not 100% convinced was freshly cleaned, but given the nature and purpose of the place, I'm quibbling!
- Lee (9/5): Superb -
- Rus (5/5): Just 2 guy in a nightmare hostel - I wish to be more things in kitchen like regular knives and glasses too I prefer not to mention. All bin with exception of bins which was situated inside of bathroom was full some of them overflowing.
- Dewan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Izzy (1/5): Do not go here - unless you are desperate! - Nothing! Well I suppose it was very cheap!! My room was disgusting. I don't even think the sheets were clean. It smelled of pee. There was no facility for drinking water.
- Jossy (8/5): Very good -
- Tear (1/5): Bad - Ignorant and very rude and information is not upto date x
- Andy (1/5): If I could make it 0 out of 10 I would - Location was ok Firstly my room was given away even though was booked for over 4 months. Secondly moved to a shared room which seemed more like an illegal immigrants dormitory. Thirdly no towels available for shower (had to use clothes to dry) and lastly advertised breakfast included nothing available. Would recommend booking.com look into the validity of this place to accommodate travellers
- Yasser (6/5): Pleasant -
- Tavakolipasand (3/5): Poor -
- Tyerman (5/5): Passable - It was very very cheap and we did not expect much more than what we got.
Good location to travel from Beds very uncomfortable
Sheets very worn
- Oluwashola (1/5): Horrible as I could not stay - Nothing, horrible Horrible, bad service and place
- Dan (6/5): Pleasant -
- Kathryn (1/5): Avoid at all costs! - Omg, no....
Nothing about this place felt safe, clean or secure.
The "host" met us in the corner shop, pulled our keys out from an old Pringles can and handed them over. It only got worse from there...
Every surface-every single one- felt oily and dirty, the rooms stank, the bedding was dirty and had obviously been slept in already, the door was broken so we couldn't even shut it properly (although they had attempted to fix with some scotch tape)...
Just absolutely no. We didn't stay; felt for sure we'd leave with bedbugs, lice or worse
DO NOT GO!
- Noah (3/5): Poor -
- Peter (9/5): Superb -
- Kaya (4/5): Disappointing -
- Stephen (1/5): Bad - Location Booked for 9 only 7 beds if ye can call them that
Rotten it was have a shower at home before going as I wouldn't of even showered my dogs in them
- Claire (1/5): Awful never again - The room was awful I booked a room with double bed for me n my partner we were told your room changed inside the room was 4 sets of bunk beds no window couldn’t move ,couldn’t even sleep with my partner awful ,even had to give 40 pound deposit payed for breakfast there wasn’t even a cup in the place Everything no we’re near centre awful no breakfast so why say amd pay more for breakfast when u get nothen
- Angela (10/5): Happy where it was near me to food bars shops - Very clean lovely staff Nothing
- Antonin (3/5): Poor -
- Terry (7/5): Was very ideal for someone, like myself, who was travelling on a budget - Very clean, to a high standard, and value for money Could not easily find the light switch for the room and had to ask the staff
- Juan-pablo (1/5): Bad - I asked weeks before my stay for a late check-in. They didn't reply. I kept communicating through several channels without a reply. Booking.com approved my stay, which I took as a signal of their willingness to open up for me. I got on the day, and nobody was there. I demanded a refund and have not had any response Booking. Com didn't answer my refund requests either. They haven't even replied to my messages!
- Sijo (5/5): Passable - It’s good
- Noble (8/5): Very good -
- Antonin (5/5): Passable -
- Ernest (1/5): Bad -
- Nashville (1/5): Do not go - No one answered messages and the pin they gave didn’t work
- Robinson (8/5): Comfortable - Good Kitchen
- Stephen (6/5): Pleasant -
- Kashif (1/5): Bad -
- Pelc (5/5): You get what you pay for - It had everything you need. I was in the mixed room and the 2 people I shared the room with were really nice, had some excellent deep conversations with one guy from Romania. Didn't see any staff at all, the guy who checked me in was in the shop underneath. But I was only there to sleep and shower and it had both of those things. I didn't mind the area, it wasn't too far from the centre and there's bus stops right outside. A KFC close as well as a greggs and a Morrisons too. Main things were just cosmetic really, but it didn't effect my stay at all. Would've been nice to have bigger lockers so I could've fit my bag in but I just took things out of my bag and left my bag on my bed and it was safe. Depends who else is in the room but the 2 I shared a room with were trustworthy genuine people
- Lisa (1/5): Basically a houseshare - £15 a night literally on the high street above a shop, there's everything you need on the street and a metro stop.
The guys are friendly and sort things out.
The top room was really hot and comfortable. There's one toilet, no kitchen it's a room with fridge toaster microwave and kettle, no sink no plates etc they belong to people staying there.
The bedding doesn't get changed daily both times I stayed it smelled of being lived in and had 'stains' I didn't complain just adapted for the sake of £15 and the way we are all struggling it was okay. Locks and doors need fixing.
Needs a proper kitchen daily bedding changed and just a bit maintenance to make it better .
- Lisa (4/5): Disappointing -
- Morina (1/5): Hotel from a garbage dumster - I like absolutely nothing about this hostel Absolutely everything is way below what should be expected of a facility that people stay at. Even at basic standards, it failed it was shocking.
