• iihhaapp (10/5): A Hidden Gem for Family Stay in Semarang - I stayed at Grand Edge Hotel Semarang for quite a while with my family, and honestly, I’m really happy we found this hotel. The location is great, not too far from Upper Semarang, yet still close to the city center, so getting around was super convenient. The room rates are affordable, but the facilities are surprisingly good. They have an infinity pool with a nice view, and a free playground for kids. Unfortunately, because our schedule was pretty packed, we didn’t get the chance to visit the playground. As for the room, it was one of the best parts of our stay. It was very clean (which is the most important thing for me), comfortable, and had full window views of Semarang city. My child loved it so much and was really happy just staying in the room. Overall, it’s definitely worth it for a family stay in Semarang.

• Departure57371554375 (10/5): Grand Edge an old hotel but with excellent caring staff - The staff is excellent, especially Ms. Ajeng, she's very polite, caring, kind, and well-spoken. I recommend this hotel if Ajeng is still there. The administration of the hotel must reward her for her dedication, honesty, excellent communication skills, hospitality, and professionalism. I had very good experience for the first time with a hotel staff member, especially in indonesia, who really knows the values and tricks how to handle and care their international guests with a different language and culture.

Check in were fast and no hassle, came to the room was much impressive with cleanliness but when my wife check on the bed, she found a piece of hair, oh come on.. please be detailed on your cleanliness. All staff were amazing especially Dani who help me woth the luggage and he explained all the hotel facilities. Kudos for him.

• Milan (4/5): not that great - staff was friendly there is a night club on the second floor which you wont be informed about, the music is really loud even on the seventh floor and makes it really hard to sleep since they play music up until 3am. Room’s are old and not well maintained and the sheets had stains in them.
• Verified traveler (2/5): Worst experience in Semarang - Worst experience in Semarang. The bathroom was filthy, and the shower was broken — only water came out with no proper function. The sink was clogged and wouldn’t drain. They didn’t even provide drinking water in the room, blaming environmental reasons. But the worst part was the front desk staff. I booked one room through an app and then rented an additional room at the counter. When I asked to change the credit card used for payment, the staff simply said it wasn’t possible. When I asked for the policy they were referring to, they said they couldn’t provide it (???). The front desk agent wasn’t even wearing a name tag and refused to give me their name. When I asked to speak with the General Manager, I was told they couldn’t be contacted. This hotel is full of lazy staff who don’t want to work, take no responsibility, and just make excuses and lie.
• Robert (5/5): Not as good as expected - We had two grand deluxe double rooms for ourselves and son and daughter in law. The rooms were large and the underground car park had lots of spaces. The breakfast was very good. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The room had a 'funny' smell. Maybe cleaning product. The bathroom door was a sliding door without a handle and did not close well. This was the same in both rooms. The furniture around the outside rooftop pool was dirty and broken and there wasn't enough so we could not sit outside. We asked for two door cards for each room but the second door card for each room did not work.

The room is spacious and clean, bed is comfy. Hotel is strategically located, close to highway entrance for simpler mobility. Facilities are complete, beyond expectation.

Have some good choices of food, start from coffee shop in the ground floor until lounge in the highest floor. The staff have good manner and hospitality. Special thanks to Mr Felix as a Receptionist who helped me checked in at the midnight, give me some recommendations about sightseeing place in Semarang. Also thanks to Mr Elif as Security who helped us parked the car in the narrow layout. Last but not least, the hotel is very good but can be the best hotel if they can manage about the noisy sound from the nightclub downstairs, it little bit disturb our tight sleep. Thank you

• Daniel (2/5): An experience we are not likely to forget. Loud music kept us from sleeping. A hotel with many problems! - I’m afraid I can’t think of anything positive to say! It’s been a long time since I had such a bad hotel experience! Read these words and compare carefully with comments from other guests who have visited this hotel in the last two years. You’ll see that the issues have been pointed out time and time again and management says they will be addressed but as you can see from the guest comments they aren’t! I had booked a double and a junior suite for our family of five and my mother in law. The rooms were on the sixth floor. Further down in the building (2nd floor?) there’s a bar/nightclub that plays extremely loud music with a heavy base you can feel in your bed (!) until 2am. Impossible to sleep! I spoke to two different receptionists and the duty manager during the night without improvement. I was told the bar is not run by the hotel but by an external tenant. I paid to get a night’s sleep ahead of an early morning flight but didn’t sleep at all ( we had to get up at 4am). Unfortunately the noice is not the only problem with this four star hotel (I seriously wonder how they got the stars!). There were two issues with transportation to the airport, two issues with the extra bed we ordered for our son, the carpet in the corridor was very filthy, two of the frames around the light switches close to the bed fell off when I turned off the light (fortunately nobody got electricuted!) and the hotel doesn’t answer communication through the Booking.com app. This was an experience we are not likely to forget!

Unfortunately that room was under the hotel bar and I was listening to music until 2.30 AM. I got offered a new room, facing the street, but after they told there was not going to be live music my last night there, I stayed in the room. Try music stopped 00.30 AM my last night.

• Daan (4/5): Hotel perfect for clubbing, not for sleeping - Room size and amenities. Friendly personnel. Club very close by. Swimming pool and breakfast location on the roof are great. If you want to sleep before 3.00 AM you better not book this hotel. On the 2nd floor of this hotel there is a club which is open until 3.00 AM of which the music resonates all the way to the 7nd floor. Luckily our kids slept well, but we could not until the music stopped. Rooms do not some maintenance and cleaning. Airco in junior suite was not working, mold present in the shower/bad. Shower curtain fell down. Tv not working properly. overall it looks nice on the outside but it’s a very disappointing stay.

• Fita (6/5): - this hotel provides a wide city view, can see the sunrise and sunset, but when I stayed the weather was not supportive so it didn't work to see it. on top of the hotel there is a nice restaurant and bar, which also shows the city view from the window. The breakfast is quite varied and the food tastes not bad. this hotel lacks facilities and rooms that look old. The bathup water cap is come off so you cannot use the bathup. the towels were worn out, the pillowcases also looked worn and hairy. for the staff, the receptionist section is not friendly, in the restaurant there were only two employees, so when the fruit and drinks run out, they are not immediately refilled. the conclusion of my review, this hotel needs better maintenance so it will feel more comfortable. if the conditions do not change I will definitely not come back here again.

Towels had a very disgusting damp smell, linens (especially pillow cases) were not bright white and clean, the handheld shower was not working in room 602, lots of the kettles were broken, and overall, the hotel rooms need some serious cleaning and maintenance! One of the receptionists, Edo, was the most unhelpful front office receptionist I have ever met. Did not book my taxi correctly even though I have given him an hour notice! And when I asked for a spare room key, he advised straightaway that that was NOT possible. When you ask him to do stuff, the direct answer was NO! Asked a different receptionist, and they gave me a spare key asap. Not the service you would expect from a receptionist, which meant to be the front face of the hotel! Very disappointed in him. Overall, forget about this hotel if the price wasn’t heavily discounted!

• Verified traveler (8/5): Good location - Location was very good, right adjacent to small "mall" with various food options. Breakfast was well stocked with options. Not a place that foreigners are typically at. Had a problem in the room with a light that would not turn off. After maintenance spent 20 minutes working on it, I requested a new room, which took another 15 minutes to get ready. New room was nicer and cleaner than the old one. Pool area was great, used it twice with no other people in the pool, but staff around. Since it's on the rooftop, expect windy conditions.

Furniture is chipping and old, many stains on marble, old bath towels, extremely small room, few stores and restaurants still open on connecting mall, staffs speak little English, when taking shower, water leak all over the floor, horrible Wifi. Ask receptionist if can change to another better condition room, same condition with the other one, ask receptionist about the condition, she said all rooms same condition, noisy from street. Will not recommend to others! Will never come back! This is the worst hotel I ever stay around the world with 3.5 stars rating.

• Nina (4/5): man erwartet mehr als man erhält - Wenn man das Hotel bucht erwartet man mehr als man bekommt. Grundsätzlich sehr schön angelegt und ausgestattet ist es doch etwas renovierungsbedürftig. Am meisten gestört hat uns, dass das Zimmer realtiv dreckig war, der Boden war voller Staub und Haaren und die Bettwäsche & Handtücher hatten Flecken. Die Dachterasse mit dem Infinity-Pool ist toll angelegt und bietet einen schönen Ausblick.

Also the restaurant is divided into smoking & non smoking, but sitting in the non smoking section is not hugely different from sitting in the smoking section.

• signe (8/5): Ok oplevelse. Fantastisk svømmingpool - Efter en lang tur fra karimunjawa, ønskede vi at tjekke hurtigt ind og komme i bad. Vi ankom kl.15 men fik først vores værelse kl.16. Har aldrig prøvet at vente så lang tid, når det er efter normal chek in tid. Til gengæld var poolen det hele værd!! Wow for en udsigt!! Personalet i baren i sky lounge var fantastiske om aftenen !! De burde have lønforhøjelse! De gjorde at jeg har lyst til at komme tilbage. Ved morgenmaden var personalet desværre meget sløve, og der var ikke styr på så meget. Måske var det fordi vi spiste meget tidligt kl.06.10 (de åbner kl.06.00) Alt i alt ok ophold.
• Grahame (8/5): Good value good pool. - Absolutely ok for the price, the pool made it even more enjoyable. Breakfast was ok, good coffee.
• FDW (8/5): Connected to Food mall - Stayed for one night. Deluxe Room was spacious. Bed was comfortable. Some broken amenities and fixtures (basin & bathroom). Food court in the same building that offered good variety. Sky Lounge offered nice view of posh residential areas. Overall pleased with the service and location.
• park (2/5): Terrible experience - I was booking this hotel, but I have to cancel or change the date.I called the hotel reception. He agreed to change the date. When I arrive this hotel. They can't do it. Even though my booking is free cancellation, Because of that, I believed that my booking Date was already changed. Hotel refuse any responsibility for this matter. Only sorry.. It's terrible... pls don't book this hotel.
• Verified traveler (6/5): - They should look into upgrade their furniture, shower area, some were not well condition. Also, should conduct pest control as I saw lots of ants on the desk...
• Ekabarman (8/5): Close to the Food Arcade - The hotel is connected to Food Arcade building, we can find some restaurants overthere. I can find food at Bayleaf. The hotel room is big and has nice city view. Carpets in front of room should be renewed, many dirt spots on it.
• Verified traveler (4/5): Cleanliness must be improved - The room size is ok, but cleanliness must be improved. The floor was dusty, especially at the corners. When AC is turned on, dust is flying all over the place. If there's a lock for the bathroom door it would be great too.
