- S7364RMpeterb (10/5): Just delightful... - At end of September my wife and I spent a wonderful eight days at Palazzo Rotati in Fano. Although described as a boutique hotel, it was actually much more than that. We had essentially an apartment with a separate dining room where we were served fresh breakfasts each day at a time of our choice, as well as a sitting area, kitchenette - and a balcony terrace that looked out over the rooftops of the renaissance town... The Palazzo is centrally located in Fano, which is a small and compact yet fascinating town, ringed by ancient walls, with lovely piazzas and museums and many good dining opportunities. It's also handily on the coastal rail line, with several interesting places in easy day-trip range. Our rooms at the Palazzo were kept beautifully clean and Gabriela, the owner, was responsive to our every need. I understand she is now thinking of hosting cooking classes for those staying with her - which, given the delicious lunch she cooked for us, would be well worth looking out for !

La camera è una vera suite: pavimenti in legno, anticamera con angolo cottura in cui ti viene servita la colazione, un letto enorme comodissimo. Pareti con quadri e mobili antichi. piccola biblioteca privata. Le finestre danno su un giardino interno. Il bagno è raffinato, ma con tutti i comfort moderni. La colazione viene servita in giardino o in camera con di dolci tradizionali, torte e marmellate fatte in casa, frutta fresca. È come vivere in un’altra epoca, ma con tutti i comfort di oggi. Niente

La mia esperienza presso questa struttura è stata complessivamente negativa, soprattutto perché avevo espressamente indicato che il soggiorno era per motivi di lavoro. La stanza era priva di una scrivania, elemento essenziale per chi deve lavorare. Mancava anche un cestino, il che ha reso scomoda la gestione dei rifiuti. Sono state fornite alcune merendine confezionate, non richieste e per me inutili, una delle quali, con sorpresa, era già stata aperta e parzialmente consumata: un dettaglio inaccettabile sotto ogni punto di vista. Il personale è stato gentile e disponibile, ma si percepisce una scarsa esperienza nella gestione dell’ospitalità. Le prese elettriche erano datate e non compatibili con spine Schuko, cosa che ha ulteriormente complicato il mio lavoro.Nel complesso, il rapporto qualità-prezzo risulta inadeguato. Non consiglio questa struttura a chi ha esigenze professionali durante il soggiorno.

The hotel is located in a charming historic building, and the central location is great for exploring the old town and the beach, both within walking distance. The room was spacious and clean, with tasteful decor that reflects the building's heritage. If travelling by car, parking can be tricky. The entrance doorway can be a bit challenging to find especially if walking down the narrow cobbled streets in the dark! Overall, it's a nice place to stay if you appreciate character and location.

- Stefania (8/5): Accoglienza calorosa anche per il mio cane, con ciotole e un benvenuto dedicato, e una permanenza serena grazie alla pie - Ho apprezzato molto la posizione dell’appartamento, davvero strategica per visitare la zona. Il bagno era pulito e ben attrezzato, e il benvenuto è stato caloroso. La cucina, seppur piccola, era completa di tutto il necessario e ben organizzata. Un grande punto a favore sono i piccoli balconcini, che offrono una vista suggestiva sui tetti e sul mare, regalando un’atmosfera piacevole. Alcuni aspetti potrebbero essere migliorati. I materassi non erano particolarmente comodi e l’arredamento delle camere, molto antico, risultava poco funzionale e poco .L’insonorizzazione non è delle migliori. Con qualche aggiornamento, l’esperienza potrebbe essere ancora più piacevole.

- Valerio (10/5): The ideal room in the perfect location - Palazzo Rotati is an ancient building right in the middle of downtown Fano. Perfectly maintained and decorated by ancient beautiful paintings. As soon as you get inside you feel transported centuries ago. Our room was excellent, with the best mattress I ever experienced. It included a living room with kitchen as well, a balcony with ocean view. Service was attentive and kind. Room service for breakfast available.

Das Frühstück ist viel zu teuer und nicht wirklich zu empfehlen, es gibt auch keinen 2ten Kaffe (Schon bisschen Abzocke). Auch der Parkplatz war mit 30 Euro eher zu teuer. Hunde laufen frei herum und wären fast mit ins Zimmer gekommen.

- R6577TUdanieleb (10/5): A charming historic building in the heart of Fano - Historic building beautifully restored and kept, located in the heart of Fano, few steps from the Piazza and five minutes walk to the “Sassonia” beach. Each accommodation is different but they all have a large bedroom, ample bathroom fully equipped and an efficiency. If you stay at the suite on the top floor as we did this time, you can enjoy an extra room perfect for breakfast or reading, while looking at the views of the city’s roofs and bell towers. Each room has anything you need for your staying, Tall ceiling, large windows, interesting antiques pieces and details are common in every room. The place is spotless. Gabriela Rotati is a perfect host and her team very courteous and friendly. The building has a courtyard where you can park your bicycle and there is a garden behind the building. Last but not least, the building is very quiet and you can relax and recharge at ease. We will be back
- jeffgL4460LJ (2/5): Horrible, horrible, horrible . - Having read Nicola C’s review here, amazingly we had a very similar experience. The only positive thing I can think of to say is that the location of the hotel is “quite” good. I must mention the air conditioning in my room. It was well over 30C whilst we were there. Our room comprised two rooms, divided by a thick wall. The inadequate air conditioning unit was in the second room, not the one with the bed in it! Sleeping therefore wasn’t comfortable, mattresses were like rocks, the room had nowhere to put anything, the bathroom was uncomfortably small with a tiny shower cabinet. I could go on but you probably get the gist. As Nicola said, breakfast was a complete joke - but not a funny one. Serving lukewarm coffee and orange squash for breakfast in Italy should be a capital offence. Fano isn’t blessed with a huge number of 5* hotels but seriously, anywhere else must be better than this. - nic0lajc0leman (2/5): Hotel? More like a one star B&B - Worst hotel experience ever. Palazzo? Who are they trying to kid? Don't be fooled by the photos on this site. I don't know what has happened here since the mainly positive reviews last year and before then (note not many this summer). Everything was dreadful. So tired that it was almost dead. From being greeted by a large, barking dog (the hotel has a number of dogs so definitely don't consider it if you don't like dogs) to mattresses that were so incredibly hard that I practically dislocated my hip. Bathrooms toiletries were sub-standard. Housekeeping was shoddy. Our shower was so small you couldn't even turn around in it let alone swing a cat in there. Inadequate storage in rooms, a simply terrible breakfast (only on our first day, we learned ...) totally unlike any of the photos on the site, served with orange squash (not juice) and undrinkable, cold coffee. Undrinkable coffee in Italy - there's a thing! They wanted to charge us an extra €20 to eat it in the garden! We decided to cut and run a day earlier than planned (we would have left even earlier but were stuck there as we had travelled to attend a wedding in the area) and informed the hotel of that on the second morning of our four day booking. We were told "no problem". When we went to check out and didn't want to pay for the unused night, the really horrible owner became very aggressive and threatened to call the police. Pur-lease! She has refused to make any compromise at all on her position that we pay all the charges - many of which are for things we didn't use. What a horrible woman and short-sighted businesswoman. All I can say is that we stay in hotels all over the world and most of them in Europe so we respectfully recommend that everyone avoids this one like the plague.

The staff are amazing. The location is brilliant. The rooms are beautiful, very clean, the size and decoration is gorgeous and the rooms are big, beds very comfortable, bedding very clean. Absolutely everything, there is nothing I would change. This is a very well run business, amazing owners and staff and the location is the best.
