- Deana (10/5): - The cabin behind us their bed backs up to the wall of our bedroom. All “things” done in that room is heard loudly in the other room. Normally not a problem. But this stay it was almost all night and multiple times. Hard to sleep through all that banging and loudly screaming for God.

- Verified traveler (6/5): Not a private cottage - This property is really adorable and tranquil. Which makes the fact that our "private" cottage was actually a duplex that much more frustrating. If it had been marketed that way, rather than framing the pics and description to suggest it was a single detached cottage, I would have booked something else. Sadly, two of the "cottages" on the property are actually a single cottage with drywall down the middle. So literally every time the people next door walk on the floor / go to the bathroom / shift in bed, you can hear it. Not so tranquil.

Surrounded by the mountains, the views were amazing. The Property Manager lives on side and is there for any needs 24/7. We will definitely return one day!

It really was a cute and comfortable place to stay while exploring mountains! Reminded me of Texas Hill Country mixed with Colorful Colorado.

- Verified traveler (6/5): Noisy - The duplex housing structure titled Nature's Knack was not the quiet and tucked away cabin as advertised. There was an annoying noise of a motor coming from the other side of the common wall that turned on and off every five minutes all night long. The noise was loud enough to keep us up all night. The surrounding area offers breathtaking natural beauty.

- Lisa (10/5): A wonderful yet short stay - A beautiful, relaxing drive to a wonderful little cottage! After an extremely stressful family trip, I decided to stay here for a quiet night for myself. I drove here from southern New Mexico. It was a long but beautiful ride. Upon my final approach to the cottage, I saw livestock and wildlife. Majestic eagles scattered throughout the area. The cottages were well marked and easy to find. It’s so quiet. Upon entering the cottage, I was greeted with a lovely basket of treats. Attached was a sweet little note from the owners. The cottage has everything you need for a great stay. The kitchenette is well stocked with cookware and microwave and cooktop. The furnishings are beyond charming. Beamed ceilings and wood floors with area rugs just add to the charm. I’m usually very uncomfortable staying somewhere new when traveling alone, not here! I settled right in. The warm quilts on the comfortable bed and the warming throw on the arm chair just add a little something. The morning sun creeping in the windows is just lovely as it rises over the hills. I look forward to coming back here with my special someone and sharing this experience with him!
- TR (10/5): - Cute property but be prepared to not have access to any stores. Bring what you need for your stay. But very comfortable and quiet. If you want to get away this is the place. Very clean and comfortable. Would definitely stay again.

- Jeanie (10/5): Peaceful and quiet. - Lovely cottages, amazing setting by the Sangre de Christo Mountains. It is super quiet and peaceful there, and there were a couple of horses in a pasture behind us. I wish we could have stayed longer.

Would definitely go back! But be sure to pack some food in, its about 12 miles to the nearest town, Westcliff, for food.

Dishes, microwave, etc. The bed was hard but it served the purpose, and looked pretty with the bedding upon arrival. The cottage accomodated pets, which was nice. Only thing-since we were staying for a few days...somewhere to put clothing and food items we had to bring due to remote location and travel from another state would have been nice. That is only a commentary from my experience and overall the price was great for us and it was clean. We do appreciate the nice clean cabin.

We came and went as desired without bothering anyone or being bothered by anyone. we shared the grounds with a herd of deer. the full moon ruined our milkyway veiwing; however, the view of the Sangre De Christos by full moonlight was magical. i will be returning. my son loved the structurally integrated queen-sized bunk beds. it was not only unique, it was comfortable and family friendly. the full sized bathroom was wonderful. kitchen was very efficient and well appointed. Bravo owners!

- Ray (8/5): - The place was extremely clean and very cute. The only complains that I have concern the bed and the water heater in the bathroom. The bed was very hard and uncomfortable. It also made a creaky noise every time you moved. The water heater in the bathroom was very noisy. It would kick on and off at all hours of the night, making it impossible to get a good night’s rest. I really liked the location and the views of the night sky were stunning. Even though I had these complaints, it was a pleasant stay.
- James (6/5): Quick Westcliffe Stay - Was Out in This Area Visiting The Hot Springs. Place was Great. Had Grills outside for making dinner and had a stovetop + fridge inside for cooking breakfast. One thing of note is that the housekeeper/cleaning person showed up right at 11 on the dot (check out is at 11). They are very strict about being out right at 11. Place served it's purpose and it was easy. Bed was Comfy :)

If I had any complaint it would be that we stayed in a duplex type of a cottage, so we shared a wall with another couple. We could hear everything they were doing. We were not around much so it wasn't too distracting. We will stay there again...hopefully next summer !!!
- Craig (8/5): Great views but noisy mechanicals. - Very nicely appointed and comfortable. My only complaint was that the heating system and hot water system was noisy; kinda took the ambience down a couple of notches. The sunset, sunrise and night sky were the best in the area.

- Robin (10/5): Winter Getaway! - The cabin was very clean, welcoming and great getaway location. The amenities were spot on or all our needs. The views were beautiful and the cabins just fit wonderfully into the valley to see the mountains.
- JBNRB (10/5): Mountain Cottage Escape - The Splendid Vista Cottage was a wonderful place to getaway from the city and enjoy our anniversary with no cell phone service, wi-fi, traffic nor street lights we were able to enjoy the peace and quiet, dark skies and amazing mountain views together in this very romantic setting. With no restaurants nearby we enjoyed planning intimate meals togethers, watching the horses, birds, deer and other creatures out the window. The cottage gives you all the modern amenities with the views you might enjoy during a camping trip. During our stay we road and dined on the nearby Royal Gorge Railroad where the views were incredible. We also took a drive up Billy Humble Road toward the reservoir and to Salida to the local Walmart for groceries both of which had unforgettable views. Lastly, although it is hard to top the cottage our visit to Westcliffe and the Smokey Jack Observatory only 12 miles away was unsurpassed and a must do if you can get a reservation on a clear night.
- Yasmin (10/5): Charming cottage! - I was in the "Sunshine and Solitude" cottage and it was really charming and perfect for what I needed. The furnishings are lovely, it was spotlessly clean and the kitchenette has everything you could need. I was only there for one night but it would be a nice place to stay for a quiet getaway for a week or so. As an added bonus, the drive through the mountains to get there is absolutely beautiful!

- happy but tired (8/5): Very nice cottage with one acceptance - This cottage was cute and quiet. It has everything you could need for two people. Quaint and clean. The one very important draw back was the bed. Very uncomfortable and squeaked loudly every time you barely moved.
