Guest Reviews
- Daniele (1/5): - No
- Natalia (4/5): Decepción - El.personal no hablaba inglés.
- Crystal (9/5): - The staff was very helpful and willing to help. This was a great place to stay for the price and the type of place, it is very nice.

- Gary D (7/5): Clean, friendly and helpful other guests. 'Staff' seemed withdrawn to large degree. - Ì had made sure car parking was available before I booked. There was none. I'm not sure who the host was but the guy who copied our documents, although he seemed nice, and appeared well-intentioned, couldn't speak a lick of English. Found a parking place on the street on my own, about a block and a half away.
- Ariel (9/5): - clean, quiet, simple. exactly what I needed.
- Danimoug (10/5): great place to consider - the location is excellent, the owner, Saher, and staff were extremely polite, and helpful.
I highly recommend al-Yakhour Hostel N/A

- Alan (8/5): Quiet and untroubled. - Location is close to HaShmona station and Ben Gurion. Close to the Naval Museum.
Well equipped kitchen. (am:pm just arrived the corner.) Rather dark building.. Spiral staircase to rooms would be a hazard for anyone schlepping a large suitcase. There were also some irregular floor levels that could trip the unwary.
Not for anyone with mobility problems.
A request to put used toilet paper in a garbage pail, not flush it down the toilet, wasn't very appealing

- Perry (9/5): Great value recommendation - Great staff. Great location great WiFi. Quiet. Lots of restaurants close by. Grocery stores as well.
- Wen Hui (10/5):

- Ghaffar (10/5): Exceptional - Friendliness
- Goodman (7/5): I love this hostel. I felt at home there, and will be returning when I am in Haifa again. - Tammer, the owner, and Azom, his assistant were personable and friendly hosts, ready to invite the guests for a cup of delicious coffee, and share interesting conversation and recommendations. The hostel is charming, in a historical building. The location is excellent. The kitchen, which guests share, is large and very well equipped. The bunk beds are comfortable. The atmosphere is relaxing.

- Leibin (9/5): Superb -
- Boulekouane (10/5): Exceptional - Very nice Hostel, well located, staff super friendly !
(10/5): Exceptional - Really great place in a beautiful street close to the Bahai gardens. you can take a short bus to the beach or eat at any restaurant around. Great music and warm vibe, loved it.
- Ohad (7/5): Good -
- Rita (10/5): Exceptional -
- Arraf (9/5): Superb -
- Amalaab (3/5): Poor - The Staff Was COOL A hostel that is not worth the price we pay for every night. The Abraham Hostel in Tel Aviv had everything available in it, including bath towels and shampoo, And Good Food and at a lower price. Also, in the room in which I stayed, every time I wanted to turn off the light of the room, I needed to get up and walk out of the room. AND also The Breakfast Was Not Good
- Arianne (9/5): Superb - Great location. Friendly staff. Chilled atmosphere. Clean facilities.
- Tetiana (9/5): A very pleasant hostel in downtown Haifa for a reasonable price. - The personnel was very friendly and helpful. The hostel is clean and has everything in the kitchen. There is a restaurant at the hostel. Some showers had leaking shower handlers or disattached hooks. The door to the 6-person room was not closing from outside.
- Henry (9/5): Great location, well organized and kept hostel for a good price! -
- Rosa (6/5): Pleasant - The common areas downstairs are great! We stayed in the three-bed room. The top bank bed is so close to the ceiling that it felt suffocating and ended up putting the mattress on the floor.
- Mihaela (10/5): Exceptional - Love this place, very clean, friendly staff, nice breakfast, I highly recommend it
- Diana (8/5): Good - Location is perfect, very central and easy to move from It’s not that I didn’t like it but more of a recommendation. Dorms could have individual lights for each bed, as well as a small night stand. A good addition could also be curtains for extra privacy.
- Lap (9/5): Superb -
- Juancho (9/5): The best hostel in Haifa! - The staff and the owner of the hostel are very friendly and helpful. They will assist you with everything that you will be needing.
The location is very close to most of the local attraction in Haifa and its neighboring places and I could say that its a better place for you if you plan to do a day tour to acre, nazareth and other nearby places. It will take you almost an hour or less from this area of haifa to get to the places I mentioned above.
The bus station is literally just outside the place and its a good walking distance to get to the railway station.
My stay includes breakfast and what they offer is pretty nice, local and freshly prepared breakfast menu by the in house chef.
Tamer, the owner of the restaurant and hostel even promised to give me one night free stay since I checked out a day before my original checkout date. The shower area Is clean at all times including the toilet but the shower area could be improved like a place to hang your stuff, the shower hooks are broken and needs replacement, it would also be best if there will be doors to lock it while you are taking a shower.
Despite the minor improvements mentioned above, it was really an amazing stay and hoping that a lot of tourist visit these areas of Israel and not just Jerusalem or Tel Aviv alone.
- Amina (8/5): Very good - The location is really great! Staff is very nice and the place is quiet and clean. N/A
- Shuchita (8/5): Very good -
- Glen (9/5): super friendly and helpful. - great community atmosphere. excellent location for visiting places. don’t visit Israel in Passover. every thing is closed.
- Stefan (9/5): Superb -
- Thomas (7/5): Good - No window blinds. Very light in morning.
- Art (10/5): Short stay in the heart of Haifa - Perfect location, a very friendly and helpful reception, a lot of fun around, Haifa gardens in a walkable distance just in 1 minute. I booked that hostel accidentally, and that is a lottery jackpot. I liked everything. I prefer a softer mattress, but that is just my personal preference, and that is not changing the 10/10 rating.
- Chiara (10/5): Exceptional - This hostel can make you feel like home while traveling.
Very well organised and super clean all the time- stuff does a great job.
You'll find everything you need.
Good breakfast.
And for me it was even better than what i already expected from seeing the pictures. That I had to leave because my holiday was over 😅😅
- Petar (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kathryn (8/5): Very good -
- Grace (9/5): Superb - The place is exactly in front of the festivity. All the staffs are warm, friendly and very accommodating. Surely we'll come back here. Highly recommended.
- Grace (9/5): Satisfaction guaranteed - The place is exactly in front of the festivity. All the staffs are warm, friendly and very accommodating. Surely we'll comeback here. Highly recommended.
- Bruno (9/5): Superb -
- Aleksandr (9/5): Quite and nice hostel - Clean
Staff is friendly and helpful
Good location Modest breakfast
- Thomas (7/5): Best place if you want to travel cheap. - Volunteers are very sympathetic, helpfull and chatty. It is very nice when you are travelling alone.
Bahá'í Gardens is few meters away. Very well placed in the city. Lots of restaurants and bars around. Equipment, cleanliness, insalubrity, the cold water in the shower...
- Anais (10/5): Exceptional -
- Amalya (10/5): A great hostel at a great price in a great location with a fabulous staff. - The staff was wonderful. We decided to stay an extra night, and they were very accommodating. We will definitely return. It's a hostel, so the accommodations are nothing fancy. But they were quite adequate, and the staff and guests were fabulous. The kitchen wasn't so user friendly, the water machine wasn't functioning, and the oven obviously hadn't been used in quite a while. But this meant we ate at the restaurant and had a lovely breakfast in the morning, which was better. :D
- Pasha (9/5): Superb - The place was clean and spacious. The breakfast was good too. The only issue I can think of is not having a closing door to the bathroom/toilet area. Also, in that area there could be more hooks/shelves.
- Wai (8/5): Very good -
- Nikolai (8/5): Very good -
- Lior (10/5): Exceptional - great location. many beaches nearby, as well as districts, and port and train station
- Tomas (9/5): Superb -
- Anais (10/5): Exceptional -
- Adam (7/5): Calm hostel in the heart of Haifa - Nice location, clean hostel. Breakfast was simple: pita, salad, olives, humus and yoghurt, butter and two type of jams. Drinks: orange juice, tea and coffee. On our second night there wasn't hot water in the showers. For me the mattress was a bit too hard. It is not a bad thing but despite their description, they are not a party hostel.
- Benjamin (6/5): Pleasant - Friendly staff Cold showers
- Kathleen (8/5): Very good -
- Esther (9/5): Superb - Super helpful and kind people. Great location.
- Julia (10/5): Exceptional - situated in the heart of Haifa, super central location. very friendly relaxed personal. small garden and restaurant that is lovely and well kept with food food starting at 11:00 am. definitely recommended
- Keenan (9/5): Superb -
- Amer (9/5): Superb -
- Datta (10/5): Exceptional -
- Evasg22 (9/5): Superb -
- Jaione (8/5): Very good -
- Manuel (9/5): Superb -
- João (8/5): Good location, nice volunteer staff. - Good location, You can catch bus, train in walking distance. The building is ok. It is located on a nice street, full of restaurants and cafés. Just prepare the pocket, you are in Israel. The volunteer staff is the best people on earth. I think they could work on the cleaning a little more, meaning pesticides. You see some ugly 'insects' in the toilet area.
- Milena (10/5): Exceptional -
- Marie (5/5): fair. - I like that it is close to restaurants. 1. No cabinets to store bags
2. I requested to be place at the bottom bunk bed, but the personnel said no because they’re full for that night only to wake up to an Em almost empty room.
3. extended my stay for another night, they don’t n’t have spare key to the room.
- Daniela (10/5): exceptional for the value you pay - very clean and with everything you need. the owner is sweet.
- Idan (6/5): Pleasant - Great location, nice staff, cool facilities It was very hot and the guy in the reception said air condition is activated only at night so the room was like sauna and it was very uncomfertable
- Amy (2/5): - The description said there was breakfast, private bathroom, kitchen, free water, and no curfew. None of this was provided or was true. They locked the gate at night and we were locked in till 9 am. This is a major fire safety hazard.
The common area was being used as a restaurant. Guests were made to feel we were nuisance. I spoke with other guests that felt that the same way. Honestly I wanted to leave but every other accomodation in the area was booked so I had nowhere to go. The staff repeatedly brushed past us, told us to move, or ignored us. No one ever said hi or smiled.
This is my first negative review. I'm a positive person and try to find something good to say, but I can't for this hostel. Stay away!!!
- Verified traveler (10/5): great place and location - comfy and located right in the German Colony, 13 minute walk to the Lower City. recommended
- Francini (8/5): - It was ok, not the best but it was ok. The only complain I have is that I payed a tax because I live in Israel. I understood based of what I read that only citizens of Israel will pay this tax, I am not a citizen.
Anyways, that´s my complain specially during this covid season having a guess should be a blessing not a way to perpetuate enemisties.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Cheap and centerly located - Very friendly service, excellent location given the price point.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Friendly, helpful staff. Gave lots of suggestions for places to eat and things to do.
- Verified traveler (2/5): CAREFUL of what they offer... - Hotel is very INACCURATELY depicted on website. It is a HOSTEL, so all rooms are communal, nothing private other than the bed (and door barely locks), LOTS of MOSQUITOS, VERY OVERPRICED. Had a very uncomfortable stay, fighting off mosquitos, sharing the bathroom, begging for an extra blanket, etc. Things it lists as "in the room" are all things the hostel "has" but are not private to you. People who ran it were decent, good area/location, but definitely not worth $100USD! Asked for a refund, as it wasn't correct or reasonable, and they told us "no". Very disappointing.
- CHUNG (8/5): V. good Hostel with a few annoyances - Let's get the negative out of the way. The dorm room seems to have a lot of spaces where mosquitos get in and I got bitten 3 times one night, giving me a restless night. From my dorm, the bathrooms/showers requires walking through a courtyard which in the winter/rain is most unpleasant.
So the positives. The place is very clean and in fact the staff keep the place clean all the time. The beds and blankets where clean and it's obvious the staff great care to wash the beddings often. The place is very popular with guests, but there's always space somewhere for everyone to mingle or just do their own thing. The hostel provides a decent breakfast, mixed and varied and despite all the guests, there's more than enough to go round with staff keeping things topped up. The staff are just amazing, all smiles and really friendly and helpful. The Wifi is great especially when you consider the number of guests using it.
Location wise, it's right on Ben Gurian Boulevard lined with restaurants, bars, shops and of course the street leads to the Bahai Shrine. The hostel is right outside several bus stops, so getting anywhere is very easy. There's a bar attached to the hostel and that too is a great place to hang out as the staff play a eclectic collection of music.
All things considered, you get a lot for the price paid.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - its a simple, small hostel. but i really enjoyed it because its very familar. The stuff is super, they give good advices and are very very Friendly.
- Jari (4/5): - We stayed in the hostel for one night, in the family room, and must say that maybe our expectations were too high but the accommodation was not what I would have expected for the price. We were greeted with the most friendly staff, but the room itself was pretty rundown and dirty, and definitely not too welcoming (old furniture, waterleaks on the ceiling, rundown beds etc.). Also, we could not find the promised free parking lot, despite advice from the staff, but eventually managed to park the car at a nearby street. The complementary breakfast was pretty basic as well. On a more positive note, the internet connection functioned, the location of the hostel is central and after all, we were there only for one night. Cannot recommend the place to a group or family, as there are more comfortable and cleaner options available in Haifa for a cheaper price.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Location and staff are great! - Enjoyed the area and my stay there.
- Tabitha (10/5): - It was very lovely and the kitchen was nice and clean
- henry (10/5): A great Hostel - It was a really well maintained place with friendly workers and good services. Everything was in good condition and the stay was pleasant overall.
