Guest Reviews
- Jasmina (10/5): Sehr empfehlenswert!
- Gareth (9/5): Friendly, comfortable attentive staff good breakfast - Was clean comfortable with personal touches Bit out of the way but only a short inexpensive Tuk Tuk ride to the centre of town
- Ks (10/5): Great short stay -
- Hannah (10/5): Exceeded expectations, a wonderful place to stay - Beautiful accomodation, stunning scenery and friendly staff that went the extra mile to show us through surrounding tea plantations.

- Marie (10/5): Great and unique experience, will stay in our memory. - We had overall a fantastic stay at Villa Tea field and are very happy we selected it. The location is near the tea fields, you literally look on the tea field from the windows. The city center and tourist attractions such as the Lover’s Leap are close by. What made the stay special was the fantastic hospitality by the hosts! Definitely would recommend this place. -
- Andreas (10/5): - Sehr individuell und familiär. Das Personal war super freundlich. Zum Willkommen gab es Tee und Kuchen. Nette Geste Alles perfekt
- ngo (9/5): Wonderful stay - Beautiful architecture. Toilet is a bit rundown. Need to get some upkeep.
- Andreas (10/5): -
- Darshit (8/5): Definitely worth staying for a couple of days - Property was very good . It was right in the middle of a tea fields which made the location very picturesque
The staff Ishan and his team were very sweet
Gave us a bouquet for our anniversary
Overall very good experience Sound proofing could have been better since we could hear people walking upstairs
- Aani (10/5): Exceptional - Thanks exceeded my expectations
- severina simona (9/5): Sehr nette Gastgeber, tolle Umgebund - würden wiederkommen.
Ruhige Umgebung. Etwas hellhörig
- Martin (8/5): - Einfaches, sauberes Zimmer!
- Edwina (9/5): Lovely location amongst the tea fields with very attentive staff. - Very attentive staff who went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. They provided a lovely tray with tea and cake when we asked for milk to make ourselves a cup up of tea and provided a fabulous breakfast each day. They suggested a local walk around their own property which was really nice. There was a nice terrace to relax on and a billiards table for wet weather. We had rooms on the ground floor and the soundproofing wasn’t great.
- Judith (10/5): Alles bestens! - Alles bestens - wie erwartet. In den Teefeldern trotzdem nahe zur Stadt. Badewanne war toll. Billardtable auch.
- Rohan Pabale (10/5): - The location is awesome. It was raining at the time when we reach there because of the current weather situation, but overall the location is really nice due to the tea fields around it.
- Anirudh (9/5): -
- Georgie (10/5): Very caring and sincere staff - Ishan and his team were delightful. We were given welcome tea, cakes and biscuits, shown to our room which was perfectly comfortable, clean and bathroom was great free toiletries, kettle, coffee etc in the room..
Breakfast was a fruit, yogurts, egg, sausages and toast with Jam, it varies slightly. One morning we were treated to a fabulous local breakfast.
Ishan and his team could not have done more for us. We were there during cyclone Ditwah, Ishan kept us updated on the local news, shared advice on where was safe, where to find signal (we had no signal or wifi for a few days in Nuwara Eliya) when other accommodation in town had no power and water, we did. They offered to make us dinner when a lot of the restaurant were closed in town. They gave us a bottle of water each everyday We felt very safe and cared for by them, we were sad to leave our protected bubble that they had created for us. Thank you so much. There was nothing to dislike
- Jonathan (9/5): - Nice views and provided tea bags and incense as a leaving gift. Nice touch! Bedroom led on to the dining room.
Good photography.
- Anxhela (10/5): Fantastico! - Personale accogliente e struttura immersa nelle piantagioni di tè, ci siamo sentiti davvero coccolati.
- 🌹ROSE 🌹 (8/5): - Cosy, private& serene. Beautiful ambience right in the middle of the tea fields. Lovely welcome with cake & teas .Despite the heavy rains we still took beautiful pics. Breakfast was excellent & even received beautiful ' thank you' gifts! Great value ! Tea Villas comes highly recommended 👌 👍🌹 The heavy cyclonic rains were therapeutic but the gutter that fell off intermittently disturbed our sleep.
Would have preferred the upstairs bedroom i stead.

- Rox (10/5): - Wonderful stay
- Perera (10/5): -
- Dulan (10/5): - Nice place
- Cathy (9/5): Beautiful place in the tea fields - A beautiful place in the tea fields. The room was very comfortable and the staff were amazing. We had a huge breakfast that was absolutely delicious. A great place to stay
- Amanda (8/5): A calm and peaceful place set amongst the fields of tea. - The lounge room was lovely the bedroom, although small was also cosy and comfortable. - it is set in the middle of the tea plantation. The manager was fabulous and very helpful. The breakfast was very good. There is a nice balcony to sit on overlooking the fields of tea. We loved going to the tea factory! It was a fair way from the main town- although the manager organised a tuk tuk easily so not really a problem.
- Paweł (10/5): bardzo udany pobyt wśród pól herbacianych - super miejsce; piekny widok, pola herbaty wokół, gospodarze bardzo sympatyczni, pokazlai nam najlepsze punkty widokowe nie;
- Francesco (10/5): -

- Ana (10/5): -
- Michele (10/5): - The staff were lovely. They assisted us with transport from the train station and organised a walking tour around the tea fields. Breakfast was included and was great
- Jane (10/5): - Amazing place, very cozy and staff was wonderful
- Christopher (9/5): Lovely place in the tea fields very good value with a nice breakfast - The staff were so welcoming with a lovely cup of tea and fresh cake the bathtub was excellent overlooking the tea fields. The place is a bit old with the painting but generally clean and tidy,
The Buddhist chanting at 6am is definitely annoying
- Claire (9/5): Superb - Friendly welcome with tea & cake on the balcony. The villa was beautiful and very clean. The staff were friendly & extremely helpful.
The villa is just out of town but not far off the main road. The photo of the view from the bath must be out of date as there is now another building, and the view is not of tea fields as suggested (see photo).
Suggestion: another mirror in the bedroom please-there is only the one in the bathroom which gets steamed up and is not near a socket.
- Wen (10/5): Thank you, Amal and team! - Despite visiting on a bad weather day, Amal’s hospitality made my visit a very welcoming one and he is very attentive to your needs ! The view from the location is wonderful as well. None
- Bandara (9/5): Superb -
- Mihela (10/5): Thank you ! - Thank you for letting me check in late. If not for this, I would have been totally lost. Thank you once again for being accommodating in the last minute. I will surely return with the family soon to your lovely place.
- Sarath (10/5): Excellent stay -
- Suhanyaa (9/5): Superb - Location is great. Hosts were nice and breakfast was great
- Perera (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alessandra (9/5): Superb -
- Lemme (4/5): Room rate was bit expensive compared to the facilities on offer. - The staff were able to make us breakfast early as we had to catch a train. Small cramped room and old facilities. No internet available in the room.
- Dilip (9/5): Superb - Ashan,Raj, and all the other staff who were present at my brief stay at Villa Tea Fields did their very best to feel me safe and comfortable all the time. They were friendly, professional, and very helpful .
- Jane (7/5): Great owner and staff - The owner was very welcoming, friendly and helpful. The breakfast and our treat. Can't fault the staff.
I Loved the bath. Area was nice. Bed was good.
Problem was there was a large amount of mold in the bathroom and bedroom. Which I forgot to take a picture.
I didn't realise it wasnt a villa to ourselves and each room has someone else in. I may have just read it wrong. We were literally there less than14hrs
- János (10/5): Amazing location - Fantastic location..just behind the teafields..
Staff very helpful. -
- Paul (9/5): Superb - It had a nice ambience. The staff were really helpful eg helping us buy train tickets, buy in pizzas and suggesting itineraries. There was a nice first floor verandah overlooking a tea plantation. Nothing.
- Sandy (9/5): Peaceful restful stay. Lovely staff - Very helpful staff, comfortable bed, good place to recuperate through illness. Thank you to the staff who helped us to be comfortable while we were not well. Sadly we didn’t see much of Nuwara Eliya but we were grateful to have a home away from home to rest up for our onward journey.
- Grace (6/5): Most uncomfortable stay ever - Staff was friendly Room looked like they started renovations but never finished it. Doors and walls never finished painting. Randomly weird pieces of dirty carpet glued to the floor. Windows wouldnt close properly so big gaps left. Same in the bathroom. Window frames falling apart and not properly closing. It was cold, 16 degrees outside, because of all the gaps everywhere there was a cold draft inside what made it very unpleasent to be in the room...hardly any sockets to charge a phone. Doesnt even remotly looks like the pics online. All in all the most uncomfortable place Ive stayed my entire trip trhough SL. @ 100 USD I should rate em with a 2 or so, but dont want to bring down their overall rating...Ive stayed in much much better places for 1/4 of the price.
- Kim (8/5): Lovely peaceful place to stay away from the bustle of the main town. - Lovely colonial property a little outside the main town. Near tea plantations and beautiful scenery, Room is a little small.
- Sharon (4/5): Great location but not restful for us - Lovely location and view from terrace Didn’t get to sleep easy as the floor is so loud if your on ground! We were kept awake for about 3 hours while people walked back and forward no idea doing what late in the evening we could hear every step! Needed to be up early for train journey! Bathroom and room dingy needs updating . Lovely staff but wouldn’t return sorry
- Julia (8/5): Nice villa overlooking tea fields - Friendly staff that were appointed to the villa and helped us arrange several excursions, generous breakfast. Quality linens and towels in the room plus tea and coffee making facilities. Shower pressure good and hot water was plentiful. We loved the tea and biscuits on arrival served on the veranda over looking the tea fields. The noise from the upstairs room there was very little insulation and occupants were getting ready to leave from 3-4:30am which kept us awake for a large proportion of the night. The location is a bit out of the way.
Bathroom in need of a refresh.
- Brian (7/5): Had everything we needed but a bit disappointing in some areas. - Villa Tea Fields is nicely decorated and has a pool table, a nice terrace overlooking tea plantations yet still quite close to town. The adequate breakfast was included. Whole place could do with a thorough clean. Drain in our bathroom was blocking. Communal areas floors were dirty. Flowers in vases were wilting. It all contributed to a lack of attention to detail. Everything was Ok, but with more general maintenance it would be so much better.
- Helen (9/5): Great place to stay and wonderful hosts and staff -
- Robert (7/5): Good - Very beautiful location and room. Very friendly staff. Unfortunately, the room was too humid and had a musty smell, which was attempted to be masked with air fresheners.
- Labiba (10/5): Amazing stay! - The property is BEAUTIFUL and super cosy! The view from the balcony is so amazing. The staff were really nice and hospitable. The room especially the tub is amazing. The room was also very clean.
- Debra (7/5): Good -
- Natalie (8/5): Pretty homely hotel with good facilities - Peaceful location set back from road. Comfortable rooms and lounge area. Nice breakfast. Lovely well maintained gardens. Kind staff. The garden was a bit muddy underfoot after heavy rain but looked nice with hammocks etc.
- Robscott (7/5): Good - Away from town but nice location. Lovely helpful staff. Our room was rather damp. There was a dehumidifier fitted but it filled up daily. Damp is partly due to the high humidity of the area but also I think something structural in the building.
- Jeremy (3/5): Sub-standard accommodation in NE - The hotel is in a reasonable location, just outside NE at the edge of a tea plantation. The communal areas are acceptable, but the downstairs accommodation is not. The downstairs rooms were very damp. One of them actually had a dehumidifier.
Barely fit for human habitation.
- Alexandra (9/5): Superb - The place is not in the center of the city, which we liked. It was quiet and peaceful. Amazing porch to sit on with plantation view, very good breakfast.
It was indeed chilly at night, we were prepared with warm clothes and it was fine. Not a lot of hot water, it went out pretty fast
- Niroshan (8/5): Very good -
- Robert (9/5): We enjoyed the beautiful tea plantation view from the dining room. The breakfast was one of the - We were warmly welcomed.
The room was comfortable and there was hot water.
The breakfast was great !
The staff were friendly.
- ramin (10/5): Comfortable and cozy location - We stayed at the Villa Tea Fields for one night during our visit to Nuwara Eliya. The room was clean/combortable, bathroom was newly renovated/modern. Staff were very attentive and courteous. Breakfast was excellent. The balcony was a great place to relax, read a book, take in the view of the garden - very pleasant experience. We highly recommend the Villa Tea Fields if you're visiting Nuwara Eliya.
- Tejas (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sarah (8/5): Comfortable home from home stay in lovely tea villa - Comfortable home from home type B&B with friendly helpful staff. Just a short tuk tuk ride away from the town. Would def recommend staying here. Breakfast yogurt, fruit, toast and omelettes WiFi was very poor
- Graham (7/5): Good -
- Shanmugam (9/5): Wonderful stay! - Ishan and his team looked after us well!
Great service.
- Mohamed (6/5): Pleasant - Very nice breakfast In pictures and in real room is different
- Andy (9/5): Superb -
- Steven (10/5): Idyllic tea field location - Excellent location comfortable room .staff very helpful and courteous. Loved the communal terrace looking out onto tea fields and the evening frog chorus. Could have done with a socket near the kettle. Sink is a bit loose. Price is relatively high but in fairness I would still go back to this place if in nuwara eliya again.
- Sasha (10/5): Great view overlooking the tea fields - We were welcomed with a pot of tea and biscuits that was taken on the balcony overlooking tea fields. Just wonderful. The room was a great size as was the bathroom and the bath overlooking the tea fields was great in the evening. The owner offered to walk me around the tea fields in the morning, which was a nice personal touch. N/A
- Tjaša (7/5): Good -
- Géraldine (10/5): Very friendly staff! Highly recommend! - Our room was very clean and well-maintained. The staff were extremely friendly, creating a welcoming atmosphere and going above and beyond to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. The breakfast featured a variety of both continental and local items, which we greatly appreciated. Overall, we had a fantastic and memorable stay at Villa Tea Fields!
- Sukrant (8/5): Great service, average room - Great location next to beautiful tea plantations. Staff really helpful with stay and tips on what to see around. The room was quite poorly lit, it was next to kitchen and didn’t feel private. Photos not necessarily reflecting real thing. Sink got blocked, was repaired , again got blocked.
- Dhruvin (9/5): Superb -
- Maurac (7/5): Was very enjoyable. Loved the villa and the staff and breakfast were amazing. - Gorgeous room. Excellent staff. They were very kind and very helpful. Did extra lovely things for us that were so appreciated. The road to the villa is rough.
- Dmitry (10/5): Exceptional - Super nice, helpful and friendly people. Nice view and quiet cozy place.
- Dafydd (8/5): Nice place. - Bath and room lovely.
- Leefromseoul (10/5): Excellent experience - The staff provided genuinely heartfelt service, which truly moved me. They prepared everything to align perfectly with my travel schedule and were always kind and attentive. I was able to relax comfortably in a quiet hotel away from the bustling city center. It was a wonderfully special experience. Wi-fi is so slow :(
- Filipe (7/5): Good -
- Ignacio (10/5): Exceptional - The calmness, the vibe and the attentiveness of the staff, as well as the breakfast, some of the best we’ve head for a month. .
- Hansi (10/5): Exceptional -
- Elsa (10/5): Incredible! - the room was nice and big, everything worked well.
the staff was very welcoming and helpful. Raj was AMAZING ! he responded to our every need and did everything so that our stay would be as pleasant as possible. We follow a special dite and they adapted the breakfast for us. overall they were great and we highly recommend this place for a chill and worryless stay. We attempted to use the bathtub but for some reason the water had a yellowy color. we don't know why it happened, it's probably the same everywhere in the region.
Additionally, we were there in September, the weather water cold and the room was very chill especially at night. there was a heater, however it was not sufficient to heat up the whole room.
