Guest Reviews
- Yel (6/5): Pleasant -
- Aaron (7/5): A comfortable stay while visiting friends locally. - Bedroom was comfortable and reasonably furnished for the price of the stay. Comfortable bed and the room was clean. The bathroom was very basic and could benefit from refurbishment but for the price was reasonable.
- Michalina (8/5): Very good -
- Stephen (10/5): Motel type accommodation in good location - Had the superior room no complaints large room TV mounted into foot of bed and bath in living room good location just outside Norwich
- Vanessa (8/5): Very good -
- Charni (10/5): Nice little off the track accom close to town. Relaxing and has parking! - Large space with parking right outside. Staff were friendly and there was a nice pub just a short walk away. The beds were not very comfy and creaked when you moved.
- Malcolm (4/5): Ok but can be better - Friendly helpful staff No soap in toilet area. Lots of bites after sitting on floor. Chair but no table - would be handy for eating!
- Georgina (2/5): Hotel burnt down. - We didn't get to stay at the hotel as it burnt diwn the week before. We wern't informed of this and travelled from Hertfordshire to visit family. We had to spend a considerable amount of time trying to find anither hotel with a room nearby. We are very annoyed that no one informed us of the incident. A company like this should have got in touch with us.
- Neil (10/5): An exceptional venue and equally exceptional staff! Cannot recommend enough! - We stayed as part of a wedding party and cannot praise the staff enough. Absolutely everyone was so kind and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Never have we stayed anywhere with such genuinely nice staff! An absolute credit and cannot thank you all enough! A perfect setting for the most perfect wedding!! Nothing at all!
- Behroze (4/5): Disappointing -
- Michael (4/5): Dismal - Stuck in the 1960s Reminded me of my grandmother’s bedroom
- Trevor (8/5): Nice staff nice premises all ok - Nice spacious room Nothing it was fine
- Andrew (8/5): Very good - Very quiet location The bed was very squeaky!
- Mohammed (5/5): Passable - One only thing I can say is the room itself was very nice. It's hard to find the place the sat nav just keeps taking you around and around.
When we arrived my misses was dying for the toilet so decided to use the one inside reception area while I was checking in, the redhead girl was polite and said I'll show you to your room but shall we wait for the person your with. The blonde girl behind the bar said to her who you waiting for to her, so she told her and she was like oh there's a toilet in room 5 but in weird way. I said to her what's the problem? She was like nothing it's just me being confused.
The heater in the bathroom was constantly on high I kept turn it down but nothing happened, lucky it was the heater in the bathroom and not the bedroom.
Next morning went to take a shower no signs to say it's extremely hot water or anything, adjusted but still very very hot water. I had to abandon the shower mid showering before I got burnt.
Puting my stuff away in the car, one staff member greeting me, behind her the blonde girl didn't bother just gave me weird look.
- Jennifer (10/5): A calm, quiet and stress free stay. - The staff were welcoming, the room was clean and spacious and the location tranquil. All good.
- Emma (9/5): Lovely location - Fantastic value for money, big room and lovely location
- Simon (7/5): Good -
- Evelyn (6/5): Don’t think that I would use again - Reasonable location Staff friendly Clean and plenty of towels Shower didn’t work properly so no cold water to it and hot water too hot to take a shower. No plug for the wash basin so had to improvise to get a shave or a wash .Reception not manned until noon so could not do anything about the problem
- Verified traveler (6/5): Night away - The stay was fine as we only slept there. Difficult to find, especially in the evening as there were no lights outside the entrance to say where we were
- Robertson (10/5): Exceptional -
- Natasha (4/5): Never again - Fantastic shower. Bed is comfortable but dips in at edges so u are on wood. Cleanliness. Upon entering the entrance was full of webs and bugs. We stayed in room 43. I removed 3 spiders before i could even get my bag on the rack. The bathroom was incredibly dusty on ledges around the room and sill. A further 2 spiders in there and a huge big black one the following morning. Walls are paper thin. Heard a man defacating in the room next door. Also hear every word, especially couples shouting whilst rowing! No one seems to know how to usehandles whilst closing doors either, constant slamming of doors. No extra pillows in room, and they a as thin as feathers. Reception in the centre of a busy bar, waited a while to be greeted. Asked for my name and handed me a key. Showed me towards the building i was staying in but stopped at car park.
- Fay (4/5): Room had a feeling of being neglected and dingy decor. - No food available Shower temperature. Squeaky bed.
- Joanne (6/5): I would not stay again - Felt run down,un clean, pillows and duvet were filthy especially when they ask for you to strip the bed
- Geraldine (10/5): perfect for my visit to relatives in norwich.comfortable bed slept very well - location very good
- Caroline (9/5): Superb - The room was spacious with everything needed for a pleasant stay thank you
- Sam (1/5): Bad -
- Francis (5/5): Pleasant stay. -
- Fahad (8/5): Very good -
- Ali (1/5): Hi there I try to contact to get my refund back as I received an email from property asking me to contact booking for it -
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anonymous (3/5): Poor -
- Daniel (9/5): Superb -
- Colin (6/5): Pleasant -
- Vicky (8/5): Very good - Nice quiet location, friendly staff, cosy rooms I didn't like the main entrance being sectioned off by road work equipment, seemed unfinished inside
- Martin (5/5): Passable - Great location. I don’t like to complain about things in life so I find this difficult to write, however I don’t think it was good value. There was a funny smell in the room, the shower was so powerful it nearly took the skin off me! It reminded me of my dorm at boarding school. £50 a night is where I would price the room. Sorry guys. Chap on reception was really friendly and helpful a really nice guy.
- Matthew (3/5): Wouldn't stay again. - Location was close to what I needed. Room had cobwebs in, mould in the cupboard. The bathroom stank of mould/damp... large stain on the carpet, couldn't see out one window due to overgrown bushes.
- Kerrianne (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lisa (6/5): The room facilities were a bit basic / utilitarian but it was cheap but beautiful location. - Really lovely location in the village and gardens. Nice old converted buildings offering a single room at a good price. Spoke to a friendly and helpful guy when I managed to get through about being late to check in. Good value for money. Bed was squeaky (could probably just use some tightening of the fixings); the mattress was quite cheap / basic / old / old-fashioned box sprung and not an “aaah” type of mattress which I noticed as soon as I sat on it. The towel rail in the bathroom was on full heat and in small room on a very hot summer day I would have liked to have switched off. Unstaffed after 8.00pm. No option to purchase breakfast. Unable to contact direct through the phone / automated switchboard system on the number for existing bookings or through Booking.com messaging. Only managed to get to speak to someone by pressing on the number for “corporate” bookings. Bit of a pong from the drains when flushing loo / running tap in bathroom sink. No table to work with laptop.
- Malcolm (10/5): Pleasant - Tidy and clean N/a
- Dobromir (8/5): Generally, a really nice place to stay at. - The place was really nice in terms of comfort, location and quietness. Staff was really friendly and the price per night is great, cosidering we booked the place last minute. There was no warm water in the bathroom, however I did not raise that with a member of staff, which is why it is not too much of a concern. i am sure that had I asked for help, they would have helped us, so I am not complaining about that.
- Charlotte (1/5): uncomfortable worst hotel we’ve ever stayed in. complaints ignored. - garden this was possibly the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Bed was so uncomfortable maybe should have slept in the skip in the driveway. I did make a complaint but was ignored by the hotel and booking.com . Don’t be fooled, I read reviews and take it 50:50 hence booking !! Be warned very expensive for a night of no sleep.
- Colin (7/5): Good -
- Sharman-verrall (7/5): Good -
- Colin (7/5): Fit for purpose and great location - Location and size of room Rooms had very little ventilation
- Nicola (10/5): - Stayed here for one night in a single room as a work related stop-over - and it was perfect! Great price, lovely clean room with bathroom & shower, comfortable bed, friendly staff, bar & a lovely garden. Renovations going on but made no difference to the stay. As a woman travelling alone I felt completely comfortable and safe the whole time. Nice pub within walking distance and the locals are lovely people.
- Thomas (7/5): Our stay was lovely would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay - Spacious quite Na
- Beverley (8/5): Very good -
- Joseph (8/5): this was my second stay within 2 weeks . hot water issues need to be sorted - lovely area to stay , very quiet, after checking in I realised that there was no hot water, I went to reception and told the man . the man said he would get that sorted, after returning that evening I checked and the water was on , in the morning ready to have a shower and the water was cold again 🥵
- Sundial-by-the-sea (8/5): Very good -
- Roy (1/5): Bad - Close to where I needed to be. Room very smelly, but decorated well.
En suite is in need of complete refurbishment, shower mouldy, and no hot water in the morning. No reception, so I couldn't bring it to anyone's attention. Room 43
- David (8/5): Very good -
- Jennifer (9/5): Superb -
- Billy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tracey (8/5): Ideal for city centre or Airport if driving - Lovely and quiet, near to Nowrich city centre by car. Easy parking, ground level rooms that were very spacious.. Staff friendly Bar was only open till 9pm.
- Rhys (10/5): Exceptional -
- James (10/5): Exceptional -
- Graham (8/5): Would stay again if I had to look for accommodation in that area. - Quiet The room was at the end of a block of rooms and furthest from the internet router so the internet signal was not very good
- Nudds (9/5): pleasant and comfortable. - clean convenient and self contained I was sorry not to see any staff - I collected key after reception was closed and posted key in letter box when I left.
- Lisa (1/5): avoid at all costs, horrible hotel - nothing hard bed, cobwebs in bathroom, dirty brown carpet, dated, flat pillows, no restaurant, stains on wall, door left unlocked after it was cleaned
- Malcolm (7/5): comfortable - big room, clean, tidy, friendly staff
comfortable bed whilst going to room, people drinking cans of lager outside their room. they were in/out of their rooms all night including 3am and then sitting outside again at 7am. this can make people feel uncomfortable. needs a restaurant too.
- Nichola (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lou (10/5): Cosey spot, spacious room with a homely feel, I asked for extra bits for the room with no trouble. - Parking
Warm 24/7
Wifi
Private/ secure
Staff
Clean Not a big deal but found bathroom Floor boards creaked no end, wasn’t sure if I’d eaten too much over the last few days
- Victoria (1/5): absolutely terrible and overpriced. - not very much. - the headboard was broken
-the mattresses were terrible
-cobwebs everywhere
-the room stunk of mould & damp
-the shower leaked
-the tv didn’t work
-no staff nearby
-the main building wasn’t open and no one was around
- Claire (8/5): - Nice place, just out of town with on site parking. Have stayed in a couple of the rooms and generally good level of cleanliness, though showers are a bit old & not very good pressure. Outside cleaning is a limited (ie unemptied ashtray outside over two different stays!) but a nice find and value for money
- Janis (10/5): - We stayed just one night, and wished we had arranged longer. There was no food but we knew that when we booked and it was not a problem, local pub near by does excellent food.tea and coffee in room excellent stay highly recommended.
- Tyler (9/5): Superb -
- Sally (10/5): Definitely would go again - Rooms was cozy , staff was exceptionally friendly, definitely would go again , was very beautiful scenery and great location Nothing really that I didn't like tbh
- Rob (4/5): The horrendously noisy rooms and broken heating control is why I'll never visit again. - Lovely location and surroundings.
Staff were pleasant.. The property was being refurbished so large areas were closed off including the toilets so a wooden potting shed had been turned into the only toilet.
The rooms are converted buildings with stud walls between three rooms and the noise is absolutely shocking between them,I could hear the next room pee in the toilet, talk and snore.
The doors are not soft close,so slam closed and wake you up.
The radiator is apparently controlled by a thermostat above it but even on zero it was on full all the time which is extremely uncomfortable.
The bathroom light was full of dead flies and part a branch from a tree was actually growing through a gap between the window and wall.
- Lighting (8/5): Lovely place , good for price, shame about lack of amenities, they are doing the place up at the mo - Very nice for the price, basic but clean and in a beautiful location and very well kept gardens and rooms Not a lot around there in the way of food bar one pub only that was way over priced so make sure you pick up food to bring with you
- Claire (7/5): Good -
- Cc (8/5): Very good - Close to city (15 min by car), place was clean, good size tv, big room and bed.
Check in/out was easy. Shower was very small and shower pole was right above the head so your hair gets wet no matter what.
Walls are very thin and you can hear people at other rooms.
- Edward (5/5): cheap and okay for a night - Price was great. location good for me also they have a no smoking policy in the rooms. my room had clearly been smoked in recently, it smelt so bad of cigarettes that I’ll have to wash all my clothing
- Online (8/5): Very good -
- Chinthaka (8/5): Very good -
- Greg (2/5): No facilities as promised - Told before arrival no power to main building and key in late stay box. Not told this meant bar and lounge closed. Booked room as it had free WiFi - this was unusable in the room. Got into the bar at 830 on day 2 to be told it would closed in 15 mins so 15 mins of WiFi.
- Dobbins (9/5): Superb -
- Verified traveler (4/5): Disappointed - Reception called to say they would leave keys in a box in an envelope with my name on.
Easy instructions to find keys and was quite excited to find we were in the superior bridal room.
Room was extremely cold so took a while for it to heat up. It was very dated, tv in the bed was broken. For a bridal suite i would be extremely disappinted.
- Hazel (9/5): Superb - A pleasant greeting on arriving, the room was very big and had everything we needed.
Very comfortable bed, nice en-suite. Very clean
Quiet location and lovely surroundings Nothing springs to mind
- James (10/5): great value, great room, will be back! - helpful staff, room was fab nothing
- Chinthaka (8/5): Very good - Spacious rooms with ensuite bathrooms. Real value for money. Travelling to Norwich for contract work and always stay here for weeks. Not had any issue with cleanliness. Staff are friendly and supportive. And always helpful with late check-in process. None
- Adam (9/5): Superb - Staff was amazing and room is lovely It's abit secluded
- Daniel (7/5): cheap enough at a good location - location to the airport very good no food available
- Daniel (7/5): Good -
- Tara (10/5): Lovely place to stay, great value for money - Very kind and helpful staff. Room was spotless, very comfortable and toasty warm. Location is lovely in a peaceful village not far from city centre. Plenty of tea and coffee in the room. Plenty of free parking and good wifi. We slept very well. Highly recommended! -
- Leigh (8/5): Very good -
- Andrew (8/5): Very good -
- Anonymous (8/5): Nice place! clean and comfortable! very reasonably priced. - last minute booking. very reasonably priced. clean room, comfortable bed. very close to Norwich airport and a 15 minute drive into the city. No frills place to stay but ticked the box. you could hear everything in the room next door and they were noisy! No food served on site but you can get a drink at the bar.
- Naomi (3/5): Poor -
- Nathan (9/5): Superb - Rooms very nice and the beds comfortable for a good nights sleep. Bar facilities very good also. n/a
- Gary (10/5): Excellent place to stay - The room was superb, the Staff were amazing couldn't be any friendlier. Nothing.
- Mark (5/5): Standard :( - Heating had packed up in one of the rooms, got given a small electric heater from reception, that worked until they wanted to sleep, had to turn it off because it was so noisy. I think they should have been offered a different room.
The pillows are useless, way to thin... The bed was comfy :)
Went in to the bar for a beer, how boring, no pool table, dart board, no music just a little tv on very quietly.
Think it could have been better for £70 a room.
- Sarah (6/5): Basic comfortable stay with friendly staff - The rooms were basic but comfortable
The towels were great and beds comfortable it was difficult to get in touch and there was confusion around breakfast and booking directly
- Linda (10/5): - Attended my best friends wedding at the venue, and stayed over. Rooms very clean, comfortable, and had everything that you could need, the staff were extremely kind and accomodating, the whole place was just perfect! Thankyou for hosting us
- Daniel (8/5): Very good - stayed here afew times now, no complaints!!
- Harley (8/5): Very good -
- Gemma (5/5): Passable -
- Lisa (10/5): great place to stay - convenient and cute nothing to report that I did not like
- Mohammed (4/5): Disappointing - Location, condition as how seen in the picture it was wrong when visited.
- Michelle (8/5): Very good -
- Katherine (3/5): AVOID AVOID AVOID - Absolutely nothing. AVOID THIS PLACE!! Arrived around 9pm. The grounds where pitch black. I called the number on the wall to speak with Sally who I presume is the manager. I asked how I check in she was very blunt and cold on the phone as if I was a hindrance. explained there was a box on the wall and my key would be in it. by this point my taxi has left so it was even darker. finally found which room was mine. The room was freezing cold. the heating wasn’t connected was just a lose wire hanging from the thermostat. The hot water was like warm. There was cobwebs everywhere. The place smelt damp and foisted! At 1am I was so cold and scared from the strange noises outside I called the travel lodge and got a room.
